An eclipse event is a burst of intense energy, as the shadowy forces Rahu Ketu and the luminaries Sun Moon are linked together. In this time frame of Apr 2024 – Mar 2025, there are 5 eclipses, 3 solar and 2 lunar. And all these 5 eclipses are going to affect the N/S Americas in some way. It is a very turbulent time for the nations located in these two continents. And this turbulence will spill over on the rest of the world too influencing events for the next few years.
A total Solar Eclipse is due on 8th April 2024 on the most intense Phalgun Amavasya. This is the last day of the ongoing Vedic year, Shri Shobhakruti naam samvatsar. And the New Vedic year Shri Krodhi begins with the sunrise of 9th Apr 2024.
The places which will witness this eclipse are as per the map. (From the timeanddate site). The totality of the solar eclipse is max visible in USA, Mexico and Canada. Smaller nations in this zone will see only the partial solar eclipse. People who live in these areas have to perform the daana and mantra etc required to safely channelise the eclipse energies. Pujas are necessary to channelise the power of the eclipse event into safer and useful channels. People who live in areas where the eclipse is not visible need not do these, but if they want to they can.
The time frame of the eclipse is as follows.
The entire eclipse lasts for about 5 hours so its effect on the earth will fade out in about 5yrs. For the individual nations, the number of years will match the number of hours it was visible in its territory. The effects are more intense if the national capital city witnesses the eclipse. In any case, the scale of the eclipse is huge. It is on the Phalgun Amavasya, in Revati nakshatra and on the eve of the New Vedic Year Shri Krodhi. Everyone on this earth will feel its effects directly or indirectly.
I am writing a bit about the USA as at the current point of time whatever happens to this nation and its economy can potentially severely hurt the entire world. And Canada, which is part of the ‘collective West’ is going through an existential crisis at this point of time. It will also be absorbing the eclipse energies in full.
For the USA, the partial and total phases of the eclipse are visible with the totality visible for about 1hr. So the next 1 yr is predicted to be very highly turbulent and its after effects can continue into the next few years. The genuine citizens of USA must be prepared for possible political instability and lack of effective governance. The national government may not be able to take firm decisions to protect its genuine citizens. There is a chance of civil protests and unruly mobs. There is a possibility of a terrorist attack or a major industrial accident which can cost precious lives. So the security agencies must be on high alert. Politically prominent people may suffer, there may be illegal behaviour, corruption etc and the courts may pass some landmark judgements. The confidence of the general citizens in their political system may be affected. This negative sentiment may reflect on the national economy.
The USA is supporting several wars/ conflicts around the globe for quite some time now. Soon this drain on their national finances might get too much to bear. But still it will not change its strategy. Possibly in the 1-2 months after the eclipse, there may be increased involvement, most likely around the Middle East. This may cause more strain on their national finances and have repercussions on the world too. The general public may start seeing the effect of a contracting national economy in their day to day lives. In this time frame, Saturn and Rahu will start getting closer to each other. So from Oct 2024 onwards the negative effects will become evident.
For Canada the political leaders, especially the elected PM, prominent ministers etc may face hardship and loss of popularity. There is a chance of the current government resigning or some major scandal which will lead to further destabilisation in the nation. As a nation, there could be a loss of face and reputation on the international level. The national economy may suffer. Possible agitations by mobs, attempts to spoil civil peace etc can cause hardships to the genuine citizens. These challenges might begin from about 1 month after the eclipse and continue for the next 3 yrs or so.
On the weather front, in the next 1 month or so, there will be at least one major cyclone and extreme weather will disrupt lives. Especially the people living in the coastal areas where the eclipse will be visible should be prepared for extreme weather.
General effects for the entire world are as follows. These will be felt intensely for the 1yr after the eclipse and fade out gradually in about 5yrs.
There will be a lack of control, most people will try to break established rules / expected behaviour. Risk taking behaviour will be out of proportion and this will lead to losses for many. People will consume more hallucinogenic drugs etc and spoil their lives. Weather will be extreme, summers and rains both will be on the higher side. Chances of severe earthquakes are high in this 1year after the eclipse. There will be more natural disasters, intentional accidents, conflicts and loss of precious lives. Celebrities, famous people, political leaders who are old/ ill may not survive this 1yr after the eclipse.
Legal issues, political controversies, will increase. The Legislature, Government and Judiciary all will become more strict as the structure will try to reassert itself. New laws will be passed to control the anti national activities and for necessary reforms in several sectors. Civil unrest mostly promoted anti-national elements will erupt from time to time but strict action will be taken. This will be a general trend throughout several nations. Especially in the ‘collective West’ nations are facing adverse planet transit positions which this eclipse will trigger.
So try to do some mantra or puja or daan in this time frame to channelise the energy systematically. Especially so if the eclipse is visible in the nation you live in. Intend for protection for yourself your family and your nation.
The planets and the Nakshatra involved in the Solar eclipse.
On this day, the Moon, Sun and Rahu are together in the Pisces sign – Revati Nakshatra. The eclipse is occurring in the Revati nakshatra, the last lunar mansion signifying the end of a zodiac cycle. This is a very sensitive point on the zodiac and the release of so much energy in this will cause significant imbalances for extended time periods. Only those of us who do the eclipse related pujas to channelise the energy can use it for something useful. Exalted Venus in Pisces in the Uttarabhadrapada nakshatra is going to contribute to the eclipse energy. When genuinely benefic planets that too exalted, are stopped from giving their full auspicious effects then it is a true loss for all of us.
Mercury has just moved into Aries, he is combust and retrograde in the Ashvini lunar mansion. He is linked to the eclipse as he is within 15deg of the Sun. This time will be characterised by high handed selfishness, irrational thinking processes, severe fluctuations in the finances, risky behaviour, etc. Significant fluctuations in the financial markets is likely in the 1 month after the eclipse.
Ketu is in the Virgo sign, Hasta nakshatra. He is the other half of the nodal axis and was involved in the recent penumbral lunar eclipse on the Phalgun Purnima on 24-25 Mar 2024. This eclipse was not visible in Bharat but this energy release on the high intensity Phalgun Holi Purnima is linked to a truly horrifying event, ie the fire in the garbhagruha of Bhagwan Mahakaal’s temple in Shri Kshetra Ujjain.
Jupiter, the owner of Pisces, is in Bharani nakshatra in Taurus sign. He is aspected by Saturn who is afflicted by Mars, so not in a good position. Jupiter is the jiv karak, ie he sustains life and all things which make life, ‘liveable’. If he is unable to function properly, ‘life and living’ is affected. So both the Guru’s, Daityaguru and Devguru are not strong enough to shield us from the intensity.
Mars is in Shatataraka nakshatra in Aquarius. And Saturn is just one degree away from Mars in the Poorvabhadrapada nakshatra in Aquarius. Both Mars and Saturn have spoilt each other in this combination. This is an intense energy which is not directly connected to the eclipse. But still it will be combined with the eclipse power and will have far reaching effects.
Revati is the last nakshatra of the zodiac belt, the Bhaa chakra. It is ruled by the nakshatra devata Pusha and linked to Mercury. Such a humongous eclipse in Revati will have a deep impact on all of us. Expect uncivilised, unruly behaviour and unpleasant interactions in your social, professional and personal life. And if you try to help others by going out of your way you will be met with entitled and ungrateful behaviour. People will be jealous, nosey, selfish, spiteful and rude in this time frame and may try to misguide. Intelligence will be used in ways which can harm others. There will be unexpected turns of fate and situations may not go in the way you had planned. In this time frame use your basic common sense in choosing your path, do not get carried away by illusions. Do not get too ambitious and do not trust others unnecessarily. The effects of the eclipse energy will be seen strongly for a month before and after the eclipse.

Virgo and Pisces are the most sensitive signs of the zodiac and this eclipse will cause severe stress to these birth Moons. There will be several unexpected and unpleasant changes in their lives in this time frame. So try to postpone major life time decisions till May 2024, if possible. Health can be an issue as there will be sleeplessness, astral disturbances, etc. Make sure you have proper food and rest in this time. Specifically Pisces Moons will have to take on more work and will be required to lead on so many projects, activities that burnout may be possible. And Virgo Moons will feel left out, humiliated, rejected and pressured to work in less than ideal situations.
