Our homes protect us in several ways. The basic protection at the physical levels is obvious but the energy of the house protects us on the astral levels too. If someone has attacked you with black magic then the effect will be visible in your home too. Generally this will manifest as emotional turmoil and mental blockages. But sometimes it can also manifest as an actual physical disturbance.

Now if the attack has percolated into the physical dimension then this is the last stage. This means that the attack has been going on for at least 6 months. The entity has complete influence over you. The mental and emotional trauma is now set, very difficult to reverse. And as the negative entity has gained power to manipulate physical objects it means that the intensity of the attack is extreme. It can get very difficult to counter, repel or destroy such ‘black magic’ attacks and their attackers. 

Recently one of my cousins was being attacked in a rather insidious manner. Eventually it became very traumatic for him and his family. He lives in Konkan, in a traditional house where the roof is made of terracotta tiles. And every night he would hear noises over the roof. If you have ever lived in such a house, the roof always makes some sounds. You get to hear small soft, popping, clicking etc sounds through the day. And when it rains, it is a non stop pitter pattering sound. Point being, soft sounds in such roofs are routine. 

For my cousin, this drama started on a very insignificant note. Initially there would be a very random soft scratching sort of sound. Over a few months it progressed to tapping, thudding and finally it was like someone was beating over the roof with a metal rod. He had sent a recording of the sounds and the ruckus was unbelievable. It was like someone was trying to pry open the tiles wanting to get inside. And all this was happening only over the bedroom in which he, his wife and child slept. The other rooms of the house where his parents slept and the common sitting rooms etc were silent. Initially the sounds were like a tentative tapping and very late in the night, after midnight. Enough to register so that he would wake up but not so loud as to seem threatening. And in a  few months the situation deteriorated to the extent that the sounds would start as soon as the sun set and continue till the next sunrise. He and his family could not sleep and everyone’s nerves were on edge.

In Bharat, ie India, there are two main communities, Hindus – about 50% and Muslims about 25%. Both are very heavily into black magic also locally called ‘tantrik prayog’ or ‘karni’. And both use two very different and easily identifiable strategies for attacking their victim. You can make out the source of the black magic from the effect it has on the victim. And once you know what the source could be, then you can choose a solution most appropriate to the situation. 

The pattern in my cousin’s case was clear. It started with a creeping sense of unease, just the slightest sense that something was off. An almost imperceptible intrusion which slowly and steadily escalated to an unbearable pitch, but over several months. During these several months it was like he was unable to bring his attention to the problem. This despite being unable to sleep properly for several months. It was like his attention would bounce off the topic. He was unable to comprehend that he was being attacked. It was only at a very advanced stage that it registered the something was very wrong. The attacker had sent an monstrous entity which would have destroyed everyone living in that house. But once my cousin realised what was happening the solution was was doable.

In my extended family the oldest person in the family, the grandfather or the grandmother, does this one particular activity on the twilight of every Amavasya. My father’s family worships Bhagwan Bhairavnath as the family god, Kuldevata. He is invoked, incense is lit, Arti is performed. All entities, departed souls etc are the Gan/attendant of Bhagwan Bhairavnath. It is intended that if there is any such being within the house, the Bhagwan should call it back to him. Then the specific activity is performed with mantra. This activity ensures that no entity can remain within the area of the house and the boundary of the compound. These entites and energies are cleaned out on every Amavasya and this is the responsibility of the oldest person in the house.

In my cousin’s case, his parents had gone abroad for a few months. In his father’s absence it was his responsibility to do this typical energy cleaning activity. He had forgotten to do this, and for several months. This made him, his family and the house very susceptible to attack from black magic practitioners. 

An astrological note on this escapade. He was being attacked by a malefic Ketu in transit. And his ongoing Dasha period was not favourable. His ongoing Mahadasha was of the 8th lord and Antardasha of the 12th lord. Finally, when his 3rd lord arrived in a transit position to support him, could he gather his wits and courage to get rid of the problem.

The specific solution was to do this activity for 21days. 

Every evening twilight, he had to burn Jatamansi and Guggul with specific mantras. Both these items are highly potent and used very intensively in Tantric activities and also regular pujas. They have a very strong purifying impact on our astral energy bodies. Even at the physical levels, both Jatamansi and Guggul are highly medicinal herbs and are used in several Ayurvedic medicines. My cousin had to make sure that the mantra charged smoke of the Jatamansi and Guggul mixture permeated throughout the house. This would finally remove the entities lodged in it. He was told to do this daily for 3months and then continue on every Tuesdays and Saturdays.

This use of the mantra charged smoke of high energy natural products is easily the most potent method of removing negative energy from your house. And doing this regularly also discourages attack from such entities. It also helps cleanse the auras of the people who live in the house. Also on a physical level the Ayurvedic health benefits of the herbs are positively helpful for everyone. On a material level we have to sweep, vacuum and mop our homes on a regular basis. Similarly for energy cleaning activities. They have to be done at regular intervals to ensure that your home glows with positive energy on the astral levels too.  So do try to do this house cleaning mindfully on specific days to ensure a continued energy protection for you and your family.
