The Vedic samvatsara Shubhakruti started on 2nd Apr 2022 and will continue till 21st Mar 2023. There were very typical transits in this year so I had divided the yearly predictions into three posts (phase 1 and phase 2.) This last phase starts on 17th Jan 2023 when Saturn enters his own Aquarius. During this time the major energy is Saturn in Aquarius. He will go briefly combust from 5th Feb – 14th Mar. Jupiter will be in Pisces till 22nd Apr. And Rahu in Aries and Ketu in Libra till 29th Nov.

The transit of Sun into Capricorn is called Makar Sankranti. The Sun appears in different forms in each of the 12 signs of the zodiac, the twelve Aditya. The Sun in Capricorn sign is called Bhaga Aditya, the luck, fortune, prosperity etc. Makar rashi represents rules, structure, social and professional life, the father etc, it is located at the zenith of the natural zodiac. The regal individualistic Surya will be entering in the house of his son Shani on 14th Jan 2023 at 20:57. And within a day, Saturn will be re-entering Aquarius bringing about even more significant changes.

www.psychologicallyastrology.com

First, in brief the results of the Makar Sankranti.

Sun’s transit into Capricorn will be celebrated on 15th Jan 2023. The general auspicious time/muhurt, Punyakaal, for  the Makar Sankranti pujas is from 07:10am to 6:02 pm. And the highly auspicious time, ie Mahapunyakaal is only from 7:10 – 8:59am. Everyone is required to do some pujas during this time frame. Ideally, get up before sunrise, get fresh, apply sesame oil to the body and have a bath. Get ready for pujas. Start with the Agnihotra, give Arghya to the newly risen Sun, do your daily pujas, Dhyan, Sandhyavandanam or recite the Gayatri, Adityahrudaya stotra, or any other mantra which you practice. This will channelise the energy of the Mahapunyakaal into your life. Then go to a nearby temple, offer sweets made of white sesame and jaggery to the deity and pray for the wellbeing of yourself, your family and also for everyone in the universe.

Next, let’s briefly see the predictions for Makar Sankranti 2023. If you open any standard Panchangam, you will get a detailed description of the Makar Sankranti Purush. For the current year, his name is Rakshashi, he is young, wearing yellow clothes, riding a tiger, wielding a mace as a weapon, holding jasmine flowers, eating sweet rice from a silver bowl, facing south, etc. These terms are used to interpret the results of this Makar Sankranti. The name Rakshasi, means that this transit will create confusion, indecisiveness, hatred, selfishness, etc general tamasic sort of mindset in everyone. Everyone will feel anxious and afraid of something on the other which will make them act in adharmic, illegal, immoral and unethical ways. People will try to get their desires satisfied at any cost, which will have an extended negative karmic effect. Violence, turbulence, destruction etc will increase. He is riding a tiger, wielding a mace, indicating an increase in force, violence and cruelty. The elected governments all over the world will become strict and the authorities will enforce its power to control public unrest and civil issues which will erupt sporadically. The youth will suffer more, there will be an increase in stress, sickness, deaths etc in this age class. Prices and availability of metals, sugar, rice and other food crops will fluctuate. Weather will be hotter and this year summer will be hot, rains will be lesser and there is a real possibility of drought and its impact on agriculture.

Now let’s briefly analyse the results of Saturn re-entering Aquarius.

Saturn becomes very comfortable and powerful when he occupies his own Mooltrikon sign, Aquarius. And he is in the Dhanishta nakshatra, the lunar mansion represented by war drums. He had already entered Aquarius last year but had returned to Capricorn retrograde for about 5months. Now he is back with a bang. Jupiter though in his own Pisces, is now severely hemmed in between two cruel planets/ kroor graha. This is a paap kartari, ‘malefic scissor’ yog. Saturn and Rahu will not allow Jupiter to express his auspiciousness fully. Next Jupiter will move into Aries in Apr 2023. He will be conjunct Rahu and create a Guru chandal yog till Nov 2023. Thus, for practically the entire 2023, Jupiter will be unable to give his expected good results, there will be inauspiciousness. This is a very critical point when you analyse Jupiter this year. Jupiter is the Jivkarak, ie he helps us sustain life on this earth with auspiciousness. If he is unable to exert his full power then it will have repercussions on health, wealth, food, peace etc all the things needed for a fulfilling life. The ‘Shubh’ auspiciousness will be missing. For those who were enjoying Jupiter’s auspiciousness in this past 2nd phase, especially after Nov 2022, be ready for a change in fortunes. I always look at Jupiter very critically. Even if he is benefic for the chart, he is always should be given a second critical look. The misfortunes that he triggers are the ones which seem manageable initially but are devastating later. (The best example for this Jupiter’s tendency is the diabetes disease). Rahu is comfortable in Aries and he finds the energies of this marital sign a good channel to express his typical ‘I want it all’ nature. A major worrying point is that Saturn in Aquarius is aspecting Aries with his third aspect. His aspect on Rahu is called Shapit dosh which gives cruel results. And post Apr 2023 he will be aspecting a conjoint Jupiter-Rahu! creating several typical situations. (The extra aspects for Mars, Jupiter, Saturn are more severe than their regular 7-7 mutual aspects.)

www.psychologicallyastrology.com

The following readings are primarily as per your Moon sign. Karmaphal, ie the fruits of your past actions are dependant on the Moon for their fructification. But if your ascendant sign is stronger, then you can see the results counted from this sign too. These results are valid from Saturn’s entry into Aquarius till Jupiter’s exit from Pisces, ie from mid-Jan 2023 to Apr 2023.

Aries – Saturn in Aquarius is very favourable for you, and if you have a strong Saturn in your birth chart then you life will significantly change for the better. Jupiter is average so do some regular spiritual practice to channelise his energies. Rahu is in Aries, aspected by Saturn so you will feel a curious mix of aggression and suppression. Ketu will separate you from your partners and cause unexpected loss of money. Do not engage in extramarital affairs or do not marry randomly during this time. Health will improve, but try to adopt holistic lifestyle changes in addition to medicines. Tension in profession will go down. Better job prospects, increase in salary etc is possible. Family life will improve and you will feel more settled. This is a good time so you can try new projects, new investments and take some calculated risks. You might be afflicted by undiagnosable issues and often a victim of ‘black magic’, evil eye and negative intentions. Parents may require your attention. But overall it will be a good time.

Taurus – Saturn is poised to increase your work pressures and your social activities. Your father will require your attention. Jupiter is favourable will help you consolidate your gains. But still as he is in the paap kartari do not trust others unless you are sure. Ketu is favourable and will scatter your enemies and diseases. During this time, you will be given a lot of work but you will be able to deliver. You will be able to effectively counter gossip and office politics. Money flow, positivity will increase, better job options, etc are all possible. Buying new assets and long time investments can be considered. But on the flip side, you will have little time to rest, you will be travelling a lot, separation from family/children is possible. So pay attention to you diet, health and rest. Overall time is on your side so use it intelligently. And remember that daily pujas are necessary, else 10th Shani has the capacity to cause negativity in the profession, fear and mental stress. Rahu is not favourable, you will be a victim of malicious gossip, evil eye and unexpected losses. Do mantra and daana to get over this. Overall it will be an average to good time.

(However if your ascendant is Taurus and birth Saturn is well placed, then this time can grant you significant success in your professional life.)

Gemini – Your Ashtam Shani phase is done with and Saturn in Aquarius is poised to add some auspiciousness to your life. Jupiter is average but still be careful about whom you trust, do not be unnecessarily hopeful about things. Be logical and try to think systematically. If the birth chart/Dasha is favourable, Rahu can be intelligently utilised in the profession to give gains and Ketu’s lack of confidence can also be controlled by behavioural changes. Do pujas of your Kuldevata, listen to your Guru and give tarpan to ancestors, this will ensure Saturn’s continuous support. Do not lose faith or turn atheist, this will add to your problems. In this time frame, you will show steady signs of recovery, health will improve. problems with the reproductive organs will come to light and be addressed. You will reconcile with what has happened to you in the past 2.5yrs, problems will slightly reduce. Your profession will be more in the limelight, work will increase, you will be more visible in your office, more assignments will be given, you will be recognised for your abilities. Finances will also slowly improve, your past investments will give you returns. You will receive help from unexpected sources. Budgeting is necessary but new investments can be done if you are sure about things. Demise of a close elderly family member is possible in this time frame. Your outlook towards life will change and you will be more perceptive and intellectually more in control over your mind. Overall this will be an average to good time.

www.psychologicallyastrology.com

Cancer – The Capricorn Kantak Shani phase is complete but now in Aquarius your Ashtama Shani starts. Jupiter is favourable in the 9th house but he is hemmed in by Rahu and Saturn, thus incapable of giving auspicious results. Rahu is going to create pressures in your profession and Ketu will cause disturbance in your home life, rest, diet etc. Health should now be your primary focus. There is a possibility of blood diseases, serious surgery, problems in the reproductive/private organs, major accidents etc. Be especially careful if the judged longevity is nearing its end. Try to get enough rest, nutrition and mental peace. There will be fear of unknown things, loss of property, bad luck, etc. There will be failures and disappointments in the projects that you take up. Your spouse and in-laws will be a source of strain, do not get involved. You will face legal issues and be unable to defend yourself. Avoid involvement in other’s problems, avoid giving advice and do not follow to other’s advice unless you are sure. Do not do anything that is against your personal self-interest just because you are influenced by others. Do not trust others. Family and friends will misguide. Be very careful of any new people who enter your life at this point of time. If you are of a spiritual bent of mind then spiritual progress is guaranteed. But for the materialistic mind it is going to be a very trying time. Be prepared.

Leo – Saturn was favourable for you in Capricorn but now in Aquarius he enters your 7th house and this is called a thorny Kantak Shani. Your partnerships will be primarily affected. Spouse, marriage, business partner, profits will start stressing you out. Health can suffer so take due care if you or your spouse are nearing the end of the calculated longevity. Legal issues are possible. Not a good time for new projects. Unnecessary travel and tiredness will make you irritable. Undesirable transfers or change in job is possible. Also you will not get time for your personal spiritual practice which will aggravate the issues. Unexpected loss of money is possible. Avoid unethical actions at all costs as immoral people will try to sway you during this period. Ketu is favourable so if you have a strong birth Ketu he will grant you the necessary strength to handle issues. Skin diseases should be addressed immediately. Jupiter is not favourable and you will suffer diseases of the private parts and humiliation/ pain in secret. However if Rahu is favourable for your chart then pujas, pilgrimages and occult practices can help you tide over. This will be an average to bad time.

Virgo – Saturn is very favourable. Jupiter is favourable but unable to give his full auspicious results because of the paap kartari yog. Rahu and Ketu are not favourable. If you have a powerful Saturn in your birth chart or are in a strong Dasha now then this will be a very good time, use it well. There will be growth on all levels, health will be good, partnerships will give you gain. This is a good time to start new projects, plan a baby, invest etc. There will be professional success, increase in salary, business will expand, profits will be high etc till Apr 2023 after which Jupiter will turn negative. So right now be very analytical of the gifts that Jupiter brings. Saturn is very favourable and he will help you in this matter. You can go full on ahead in matters indicated by Saturn in your chart. One point is that you will feel like taking advantage of others by hiding your true intentions, do not do this as this will result in bad karmaphal later. Jupiter is not auspicious so the opportunities he brings will be tinged with unpleasantness which will increase with time. Avoid being influenced by the teacher, parents and spouse. And if Rahu Ketu are more powerful in your chart then be very careful regarding your family members, in-laws as there is a possibility of being cheated here. Eg in case you are considering marriage proposals during this time then your family members or prospective in laws will hide some crucial facts from you. You will suffer some permanent damage or separation from your family during this period. Diseases of the mouth are possible. But overall this will be an average time.

www.psychologicallyastrology.com

Libra – Saturn in Aquarius will give some improvement. But Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu are not favourable for you. Personal health, relationships, marriage, profession, investments all will give you stress. Pay attention to your spouse and children and their health during this time. Avoid extramarital affairs. Do not trust people around you as there is a possibility of backbiting and jealousy causing you damage. Do take up some regular vrat during this time, eg fasting once a week or something like that. This will satisfy Saturn and you will also get some significant spiritual progress. Ketu will either cause damage on the physical level, eg skin diseases or grant you significant spiritual progress. Either way Ketu’s is a life changing transit.  Overall it will be an average to bad time.

However if your ascendant sign is Libra and birth Saturn is well placed, then this time can grant you mantra siddhi and the fruit of your past sadhana /efforts on the spiritual as well as material levels.

Scorpio – Kantak Saturn transiting over your fourth house is a ‘thorny’ situation. Jupiter in Pisces and Rahu in Aries are favourable for you so try to consolidate while they are helpful. You will be required to work hard and sincerely during this period. You will be overburdened by your professional commitments and stressed out. Fear and anxiety will dominate your mind. Do not cheat others even if you feel inclined to, because such activities will rebound on you. Rahu will encourage you to dabble in black magic, backbiting etc. Health will start going downhill as diet and rest will be affected. Kantak Shani will also start disrupting your family life. Expect problems in your family, as residence, mother, ancestral properties etc start causing issues. Avoid short term flings and extramarital affairs. Money flow will be good but Ketu in Libra is not supportive for accumulating gains, whatever you get will be immediately scattered. This is not a good time for risky investments. Spiritual gains are possible for those with a spiritual bent of mind. Overall it will be an average to bad time for the materialistic mind.

Sagittarius – finally the Sade sati is at an end and Saturn now in the 3rd is willing to help you in your endeavours. Jupiter is supportive and Rahu will help you gain confidence. But Rahu will cause overconfidence so keep your common sense about you. If you have a strong birth chart/ongoing Dasha then this time will give you very significant gains in health, profession, family life, finances, etc. Finally you can take up new projects, calculated risks and be enthusiastic about life. You will travel, attend happy events, festivals, etc. Success and happiness is possible. But even if situations are favourable they may or may not be auspicious in the long run so do think on the consequences before committing yourself. Do use your common sense in all things. Jupiter in the paap kartari yog indicates that there will be hidden unpleasantness which can pop up in unexpected ways. Overall this will be a good time.

www.psychologicallyastrology.com

Capricorn – The third phase of the Sade sati now begins for you. Saturn’s negative intensity should reduce to some extent. But Rahu and Jupiter both are not favourable. So the overall stress on health, relationships, profession etc will continue and may increase. This is not the right time for investments, risky speculation, gambling or starting new projects. Loss of money, position and peace is possible. You must take up some pujas or daily Dhyan so that you can find some peace within you, else your mind will get stressed out. Do not get involved in other’s business as this will invite trouble for you. Avoid risks and speculation. Try to stick to the ethical and moral path. Overall an average to bad time.

Aquarius – Saturn is transiting over your birth Moon and the middle phase of the Sade sati has begun. However the time till Jupiter is in Pisces ie till Apr is somewhat favourable. Rahu is favourable so there will be a mix of results. There will be positive effects on your health, money flow, family, profession etc. You can also consider investments during this time. However speculate in the stock market only if you are clear about things. Use this time to work hard and get your affairs in shape, do not leave any loose ends. (Rahu will remain supportive till Nov.)  But overall the middle phase of the Sade sati is tiring and stressful. So take care of your health, ensure adequate rest and proper diet. Do not get involved in other’s affairs, keep a low profile. Do not misguide others or force your opinions on them. Family and friends will also be a source of stress. Perform your duties the best you can. Take up some daily spiritual practice so that your mind can recover. If you can find an inner core of strength then things will be more bearable. Depending on others inevitably brings in disappointments in the long run.  Overall an average time.

Pisces – You had a supportive Saturn in Capricorn but now he is in Aquarius, thus your Sade sati has begun. In his next transits through Aquarius, Pisces and Aries, you will be forced to mature in several ways. Navigating this time will be easier if you have a strong birth chart and a favourable Dasha ongoing. The time frame till Apr 2023 ie till Jupiter in Pisces will be disappointing. Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu are all in unfavourable positions. Personal health, partnership, family matters, money flow, budgeting, investments, profession, office politics, etc everything will be a source of stress. Avoid investments, speculations, disputes, legal issues, conflicts etc as you will be on the receiving end even if the fault is not yours. The mind will be under stress and the body will also feel weak. The environment will not be supportive. You have had a very good time in the past Saturn in Capricorn transit and hopefully have accumulated enough resources to tide through the 7.5yrs of the Sade sati. Overall this will be an average to bad time.

In rare cases, especially with Taurus or Libra ascendants if you have a very strong birth chart then the Sade sati can also push you into public life where you will be required to work hard for social and general welfare. But if you have a weak birth chart or are in a unfavourable Dasha then be extremely careful, this is the start of 7.5yrs of growing up. Be prepared.

www.psychologicallyastrology.com

As usual there are only two ways to reduce the impact of the planetary transits. Targeted Mantra and Daana. (ref to the index page for more posts on this) If you are already doing your daily pujas and regular spiritual practice then the transits become even more easier to handle as you can more easily adapt your mind or take up behavioural changes which help reducing the impact. However completely eliminating the effects is impossible. These results are all the results of your own past karma so will have to be endured /enjoyed. The remedial effects can only reduce the intensity of the impact, eg if you were to fracture your ankle then with the remedies you might get away with a minor sprain. The maximum reduction in intensity is when you suffer the negativity in your dream states and this is possible with regular pujas, ie ‘Nitya and naimittik pujas’ and the targeted mantra and daana, ie the ‘Kamya pujas’.

(The time/date I have used is from Drikpanchang and is calculated for Ujjain).

    Namaste Mam,

Thank you very much for this post. I’m trying to be prepared for what is to come ahead in the next 7.5 yrs (Leo Asc and Pisces Moon).

I felt very blessed during 2022 since I got the opportunity to visit Rishikesh twice and also visited Gaya and Brahmakapal along with my father who performed the rituals during pitru paksha. But it did not end there, I felt immense happiness and at peace when I could visit Kaneri Mutt and spent some time in the Dhyana Mandir of your Guru! It was a life changing experience truly but I’m yet to identify and accept more aspects of my life which has changed for better!

    Kindly share your insights:

    1. Can an astrologer read his/her own chart without being biased? Same for the immediate family members charts.

    2. Can two people who do their sadhana where one person can sit on the floor and the other cannot due to leg/knee injury and sits on a chair instead achieve similar levels of results?

Lastly I wanted to mention that I have come across a few more people whom I deeply respect but I found a few of their points & approach incompatible and didn’t want to believe those few points but I can’t find even one small sentence in all of your hundreds of blog posts which may seem incompatible or difficult to believe, etc. Thank you for everything and hope to receive your guidance at all crucial phases in our journey ahead!

    Thank you mam!

      Hi there
eventually learn to find the Guru in everything around you and within you.
He is ekroop. and he is also vishwaroop. and he is also the Aroop Advaita..

      yes, he can.
if he comes out of the subtle prejudices which his own life experiences have created in his Manas.

if there is no option, then yes.
if the body is not fit then sit in whatever pose you can comfortably sit in, no issues.
Shavasan is also perfectly ok, just don’t go to sleep!

everything that i have written is on the Ved.
either vedpurva – ie karmakand portion where pujas and sadhanas to a deity outside of you are prescribed. this is for those who are in the gruhastashrami mindset and working for fulfilling their own desires, sakaam pujas. or the more evolved gruhastashrami mindset who has decided to do nishkaam pujas for general welfare and chittashuddhi.
or vedant – ie the jnyankand portion where you ‘worship’ your own self. via shravan, manan and nididhyasan. these posts are suited for those who have a sanyasi mindset. ie those who have vivek, vairagya, shamadishatsampatti and mukukshatva.

re guidance – read the Bhagwat Gita one shlok in Sanskrit per day. there is no need to understand it, just read the Sanskrit verse. esp from 2-11 onwards till 18-66 is the main part where Shri Krishna teaches the Vedant. see if you can memorise the BG? at one shlok per day it will take about 2yrs. it will be an immense sadhana if you are sincere about it. and it will bring you to your Guru who teaches Vedpurva or Vedant as per your mindset.

        Tejaswini Ji,

As I deepen my exposure to Vedpurva and Vedant and my research leads to a delineation of Srauta and Smriti “traditions”, as it is described.

Considering the Vedas, and of course, I’m not sure how comprehensively the Vedas can be discussed…my intellect and mind are lifetimes away from approaching and understanding the sanctity of that Knowledge, but I was wondering if you would be open to sharing your perspective, or rather, deeper understanding of the contrast that is outlined as Srauta and Smriti. If Smarta devotional traditions are derived from Srauta practices, logic, etc., then, is there a link that ties both the ancient Vedic practices to those today? Does it matter?

I also came across the term “Ṛta”, and other than prompting another nudge to learn Sanskrit (as you have encouraged on countless occasions, I wonder about whether it is a predecessor (?) term to Dharma and Karma, or a term that is its own and requires much deeper contemplation?

Guru is most generous and favorable in my personal chart, along with being Jupiter ruled by the same Moon Rashi/Nakshatra as my Lagna, although differing padas. I definitely have observed the incoming of Shani Dev, with an abrupt and expected job transition less than 72 hours ago. I feel the tremblings of fear attempting to encroach my psyche, but yet I remain hopeful that the growth through Sade Sati will sharpen my wit, my propensity to follow through on intended actions, and Here we go! I feel like a child anticipating quite the roller coaster.

Thank you so much Tejaswini Ji for all of your guidance and entertaining of questions that I, probably, even if answered, would take years to understand the full gravity of the response.

        Hi there
shruti will always always have the precedence over smriti.

stick to vedpurva if you are a gruhast/ householder. do not enter into serious vedant study unless you have cultivated a vanprasthashram mindset. i am serious about these two lines.

but yes, try to read at leas one BG shlok per day and even better to learn it by rote. will take 2yrs to complete the text.

we still follow all the vedpurva karmas we do stick to Dharma!
(not as perfectly as in the ancient days of course eg. today our society has collapsed coz we stopped referring to the Nakshatra varna and started birth family varna.)
but yes some of us are still Dharmic at the individual and family levels.
however i cannot say if our society is ‘dharmic’ at this point of time.

all sanskrit words have tens of meanings.
the meaning of ऋत depends on the sukta you are reading.
veds have to be studied under an Acharya in a Gurukul not discussed in a blog.

I have some questions which might be very funny but I will be very grateful if you give some enlightenment.
If someone wants to do business, do we have to pay back the profit as karma? Now-a-days so many products using animals things…is it because animals have that to pay karma
I am not doing any business…but a animal lover and want to know more about karma how it’s work..
    thank you in advance….🙏🙏🙏

      Hi there
every living being has to endure /enjoy the fruits of the karma that they have done in the past. this is called prarabdha.
only humans have free will/ purushartha. we can choose.
no other life form has free will. every other living being simply goes thru its prarabdha.
only humans operate on prarabdha + purushartha. that is why only humans can create new karmic bindings called agami karma.

everyone has to give at least 10% of his/her income for general welfare of others. you can give it to temples or help poor people, or feed animals or plant trees etc in whatever way you choose. but this amount has to be paid by everyone, not just businessmen.

        Hi Madam,

if all life forms except human are able to only work out the past karma’s and cant create the new ones, then ideally all the serious spiritual aspirants should aim to be born as non humans, because that’s the fastest way to finish off your karma without creating new ones, which is difficult than the former, isn’t it? i mean it seems logical

    Hello Ma’am

    Season’s greetings.

I have been waiting for your post so that I could ask my question.

I know you have stopped individual chart readings. However, I am asking in general, with respect to cancer D1 having scorpio D9 partner.

    1.Does it indicates troubled marriage?

We had a trouble relationship since the very beginning. However, now we feel it’s the saturation point and time for parting ways. It has been a tiring and difficult time since few months.

    fyi:
I am a cancer lagna , uttara phalguni(Virgo moon) and Sagittarius Navamsa while my wife is a Aquarius lagna, purva phalguni (Leo moon) , scorpio navamsa.

    2. In Hinduism there is no concept of divorce, so what would be the impact of karma with respect to any future relationships post divorce legally.

    3. Request you to share your perspective on co-parenting A child of 7 years.

    4. If everything is destined!! What is the role of free will for human beings? Just creating more karma and sufferings rather than able to make any changes is the pre defined destiny?

I do not have anyone else to answer these queries of mine. So pls Ma’am try to answer these questions for me 🙏

    Thank you like always

do some pujas of your kulkdevata. do a shanti homa in your house. go for a pilgrimage. take a dip in the Ganga.. do something which brings you closer to your source of faith.
there are only two ways of handling a difficult situation..
Bhakti ie faith in your deity, accept everything as his prasad. be patient and do not get agitated. wait it out.
Or Atma Jnyan (which is difficult for householders)

and there is always free will.. it is called Purushartha in sanskrit. Always!
and it is coz we humans have free will that we can create new karma. this can be positive or negative. eg if you do pujas there will be punya-phal. or if you inflict pain, kill, steal, etc you will create paap-phal.

animals/plants do not have free will so they only endure/enjoy the karmaphal of their past karmas. they cannot create new karma/ karmaphal.

humans work through destiny- prarabdha as well as free will – purushartha both.
never ever close your mind to the free will component..
to exercise this free will a human needs confidence and courage. this comes with regular pujas/spiritual practice.
if you let your emotions/Manas dominate your intelligence/Buddhi then it is living the life of an animal.

the choice as always is yours.

    Namaste Ma’am,

I want to wish you a very Happy New Year! I have a few questions and would be grateful to receive your guidance. I am an astrology enthusiast and want to become a doctor as well.

    1) In my D1 chart, I have an Aquarius Dhanistha ascendant, and my ascendant lord Saturn in Uttarabhadrapada is conjunct Ketu in Revati in the second house. My Rahu is in Hasta in the 8th house. My Mercury in Krittika is combust and retrograde, and Mars in Bharani is combust. I have a Moon-Mars-Mercury conjunction in Aries, and my fourth house Sun in Krittika Taurus is also not very strong. My D9 Saturn in the first house is exalted in Swati nakshatra. I would appreciate any advice to help lessen the difficult conditions of my chart.

2)I feel like I receive no support from the universe and my family except for monetary support. I am unsuccessful in my career-related studies and endeavors. Despite living a seemingly materially comfortable life with my strict parents, I do not have much happiness due to a lack of freedom. It also feels like if I cherish anyone or anything, it gets taken away from me. Is there any way for me to still be happy and successful despite the condition of my chart? Any advice or recommendations for me?

    3) I learned from another astrologer about the concept of the daemon as mentioned in the Thelemic texts and read your article about the Chaaya Purush. The astrologer described Ketu as the key to astral projection in one’s chart and recommended chanting the mantra of the Ketu nakshatra/planetary mantra or the ruling deity’s beeja mantra on the related planetary day of the week to come in contact with this opposite sex entity to inspire creativity or genius. Is the Chaaya Purush a manifestation of one’s daemon?

    4) Is it possible to consciously use the astral energies of the D9 chart to manifest good outcomes in the D1 reality? Can it be done even if one does not have a partner?

    5) Can you please write more about the Mahavidyas? I really wanted to worship them and use their beeja mantras but I read your article and it stated that those practices are best left to the tantriks. I understand but I would still love to know more about them.

I look forward to reading more of your posts and learning from you. Thank you.

      Hi there
      1. i do not do individual readings anymore.

      2. Shri sukta will work if you are sincere about it.

      3. there is no ‘personal daemon’
and chhaya purush is not a daemon!
it is because of wild interpretations like this that i have stopped writing on Vidyas.

i do not comment on advice that you have received from practicing astrologers.

Thank you, Ma’am. I will learn about Shri Sukta and do it. I should have worded my questions better, but this is what I meant to ask about using the D9

        1) Is it possible to lead a better life by changing subconscious D9-based beliefs (through mantras, affirmations, etc.) despite being born into a Bhog Yoni in D1 and D9, or is there no free will to change anything?

        2) What if the ascendant lord/sun/moon moves to a Karma Yoni bright house in the D9? Does it give both bright and dark results?

        3) Do planets in the bright houses of the chart still provide opportunities to use free will in the areas related to those houses and generate new karma for the next lives?

      2. astrologerbydefault Avatar

        Hi there
        1. yes
do spiritual exercises which help your Buddhi /intelligence control the wandering Manas/ mind

        2. Internally you will be very active, but outwardly you will be comparatively laid-back, ie allow the events to take their own course without interfering much in their flow

        3. you will always be creating new karma irrespective of the position of the planets.
anything done with the intention of me, I, mine, myself, for me, by me, etc creates karma..
only way of not creating new agami is by ishwar arpan bhavana … this is a bit difficult for householders..

  8. vyomakawdikar Avatar

In one of your posts you wrote that you don’t do readings anymore as your Karma for doing so is resolved (something to that effect).

I want to understand how can one know so? And is it possible to know this for any job, task, mission, path or so in life or it is only about Astrology or spiritual callings?
Is it possible that we all go about doing things that do not require actions coz the Karma is resolved and in the process we end up building Karma that should not be?

Karma is a topic that intrigues me the most. I find it tough to understand it in depths sometimes when certain incidents take place but I would like to understand it more.
Is past life regression a right way to go about understanding one’s callings or resolve the issues that Karma has brought upon them?

Also, how much relation is between Karma and patterns in life?

Thankful for your blog and more so for your return to writing. When there are no posts from you, the void is so bothersome.

Is it possible to have a Q/A session or so on a regular basis? This way some of us won’t ask questions unrelated to the blog posted. There is so much to learn and understand and sometimes it’s not possible after the comments are closed. A dedicated one hour slot (pre-decided) can help some of us eager souls.

    Thank you again!

      Hi there

there are some things which you just know intuitively.
but a practical answer is this. for me it is because i do not see anything as good/bad anymore.. everything that you go through is always good on the spiritual level.
if you are in a situation where your mind is happy, it is good, as you are enjoying the positive karmaphal of past karma. nice…
and if you are in a situation which gives your mind pain, then it is good, as you have endured and completed a chunk of negative karmaphal of your own actions from your past karma..
      we are Vedic Dharma followers..
but i cannot say this to a client, because he will not understand..
today people feel that if they pay as astrologer they are 100% assured that the astrologer will take away their problems. it does not happen like that..

I am a Jyotishi / a Daivedjnya.. i am required to help genuine people that is why i wrote this blog. only those who have a strong Dharma trikon will be able to use it. others will read it like a story and leave..
and i have written about several ways in which a person can pull himself out of negative situations in this blog…
no one is special, everyone has the same problems and the solution is also the same. do more pujas.. daily pujas, spiritual practice, shri sukta, reading BG, doing aarti, offering arghya.. sing? do something!
at least recite soham with every breath you take? there is nothing more simpler than this..

Regular pujas will resolve 90% of your problems if you do them sincerely..

if you do any action on the basis of ahamkar, mamakaar, raag dvesh it will create agami.
me, myself, for me, by me, of me.. will land you in more ties..
check your thoughts and you will know your answer ..

fr karma – read Upanishads and BG, and if you can find a Acharya who can teach as per Vedant then learn from him.
else just try to do a parayan of BG with full sincerity.. with time a Guru will arrive..
      else

karma Is the patterns in your life..

do not get addicted to my posts.. or to anything else in life.. best learn to depend on yourself and your own practice..
i cannot write much anymore.. i had just 2 days free so was able to write one post.. from tomorrow again, i will not be able to give time for reading/responding to the comments..

no, i do not have the time for that..

During this transit of Saturn in Aquarius , there will be double aspect on nineth house for Pisces ascendent natives from Jupiter and Saturn.

How this affect such natives with Pisces ascendent?

    Thanks.

    1. astrologerbydefault Avatar

      Hi there
it will cause stress. death of an elderly person in the family is possible. and Jupiter being weak will cause needless issues in the family.
in case the moon sign has a positive reading then the physical events will not affect the mindset so the person will be better able to deal with the issues.
you have to check the positions of the original chart’s Scorpio sign, how powerful it is and what planets influence it etc.
      the remedy is kuldevata pujas.

        Namaste Mam,

A follow-up to this question and your reply, If the original D1 chart Scorpio has Saturn retrograde (Ashtakarvarga score 28), and is aspected by Jupiter-Rahu from 1st house (Pisces), what all kuldevata prayers or pujas can the native do to get through this transit?

The native is coming out from a very negative (mentally and materially) negative Ashtam Shani phase because of a Gemini moon and is also under Saturn Mahadasha. There have been some small spiritual gains during this time and relying on inner Guru as you mention, but it feels uncertain because of all these karmic Jupiter/Saturn/Rahu interactions from original chart and these upcoming transits.

        Thank you.

    Hello ma’am,

I was waiting for your post….I knew you would write on saturn’s transit, this transit is critical.

    1
In rudrayamal tantra, it is written that person worshipping mahakaali should not do namaskar or give shaap/ashirvad. Can you please explain? If I have understood, it is about high energy level which can get difficult to handle and the shaap/ashirvad can interfare with receiver’s free will?

    2
I am leo ascendant (pisces moon) and my saturn is in capricorn 6th house. Can this saturn’s aquarius transit be good for 6th and 10th house keywords? As 7th house is 2nd house (gains) for 6th house and bahvat bhavam for 10th house?

    3
Even if the planet/house is afflicted/strong the results wont be 100% positive or challenging. But how can we figure out which traits are positive and which one are challenging? For ex. 9th lord is afflicted in my chart. I have never got guidance either in personal or professional life; I had to learn everything on my own, be it a school exam or real life situation. But reading this blog, spirituality etc are all positive traits of 9th house….

On other hand there are folks who oppress others, doing harm, jealousy, bad intentions, those who are not spiritual but are very happy in material life…how could their past life karma be good? Even in the whole life they live satisfactionary life..when they will payoff there bad karma… why do we see this contradiction… why is there no help from God for the person who all prayers sincerity, compassionately… we see no help…
Please give your guidance…it will be really helpful…thank you in advance 🙏 🙏🙏

    Dear Madam,

    query unrelated to this post,

we have to see the moon, sun, asc sign and lord to evaluate any chart in this order.

    1) what is the result of a planet which has good sarvashtakvarga score (>=6), both in D1 and D9 in those 2x signs but has a high kashtaphal. Does it mean the planet will ultimately give uplifting results but the path will be tough?
    2) the 6th house is the one which causes most of the exhaustion as compaed to other trik houses. So, a good 6th house means the one which has high sarvashtakvarga score and/or the score of planet in the 6th sign should be high. is it correct?
also, a good 6th house can mean either of the below things like..you are owed too many things by different people (meaning luxury/comfort), you overpower your enemies, you overpower your diseases( good health)..
How to analyse which of these a particular chart will have in reality?
3)a good chart should have trik houses as powerless as possible, is it correct? meaning the sarvashtakvarga score and/or the score of planet in those signs should be less?

    thanks

This was about the upcoming double aspect on 9th house from Jupiter and Saturn for Pisces ascendant.

If the original D1 chart Scorpio also has Saturn retrograde (Ashtakarvarga score 28), and is aspected by Jupiter-Rahu from 1st house (Pisces), what all kuldevata prayers or pujas can the native do to get through this transit?

Just coming out of a very negative Ashtam Shani phase because of a Gemini moon and also under Saturn Mahadasha. There have been some small spiritual gains during the last few months, but it still feels uncertain because Jupiter/Rahu acting on Saturn from D1 chart too.

Ashtakvarga score for ascendant sign is stronger than Moon sign and yet had a bad Ashtam shani phase, and now do not know if should go by predictions for Sade sati of Pisces ascendant sign or Gemini moon predictions.

Not looking for personal reading, but mostly seeking good spiritual advice for this upcoming Saturn transit, Mam. Your blog has helped a lot in the last few months, wish had discovered it in 2019/2020.

    1) Last year, for several months I was taking a vrat on Saturdays and chanted Shani Beej mantra and Ketu beej mantra (for myself and my family members) on those days. Then end December I had to take a break because of some personal reasons. Now planning to resume from tomorrow because of Ashtam Shani. I was wondering if I will get the benefit now of chanting Shani beej mantra all those months?

    2) Does the planet sitting in the 6th house have more power? Or does the 6th house lord (sign) have more power? I mean, which mahadasha will be comparatively more difficult- the mahadasha of the planet sitting in the 6th house or the mahadasha of the 6th house lord? I usually check the Ashtakvarga scores to find out the power of a planet. I would like to know your views.

      Hi there

you have to read and completely understand Bhagwat Gita ie the Shankarbhashya, the 10 Upanishads ie their bhashyas by Adi Guru and the Brahma sutra bhashya. and under a qualified Acharya.
(without this Prasthan traya abhyas, Moksh is impossible.)
this is possible only if you have cleaned out your Manas and your Buddhi, ie gain chitta shuddhi, vivek vairagya, sadhan-chatushtaya sampatti and mumukshatva. Dhyan/ regualr pujas etc that you do will grant you this. you can understand vedant in the real sense only after this process.

      asurs are tamasic.
      daitya are rajasic
      devata are satvik

the Ishwar-Shakti will grant whatever the individual soul desires, provided the individual soul has worked for it. so be careful about what you wish for..

Can you please provide some clarification on this last line in your reply above?. You have conveyed this idea (the Ishwar will grant whatever the individual soul desires, provided the individual soul has worked for it. so be careful about what you wish for..) many times in your writings. Does this mean that an individual could potentially obtain something that was never fated for them to begin with? And if so, how can this be? If the seeds of karma are within our thoughts, then what that person desires must be be based on some previous karma that must now be rebalanced?

After we have obtained something that we desired and prayed for, how do we know if it was actually meant for us or if we are potentially creating more problems/karma for ourselves?

        Thank you!

prarabdha can be modified, if you know how to exercise your purushartha.

one should be very very careful in asking for wishes/ kamya karma.

that is why we have the ‘sarvatra sukhinah… ” and “asatoma sat gamaya… ” type of mantras .. they are the safest things to ask for .. general wellbeing of the collective always includes personal wellbeing too

    Namaste Ma’am..

Thank you for clarification ma’am.. 🙏

So.. Whenever Asur invades heavens tamasc nature prevails in world..
And.. It slows spiritual progress of all?
Thats why rishis helps gods to defeat Asuras.

    And..
    Indra is a god..Devraj..
But.. Why his nakshtra(ruling deity indra)
    Jyeshta belongs to Rakshas Gana..?

How god and Rakshas Gana combine?

      do not mix the systems.

and first get your rashi and graha concepts clear then enter the nakshatra and their pad/quarters

    Hi Madam,

Just query about something called as confession, which is a big deal in some religions.

Does it really help the person doing the confession, meaning burden off his chest etc..? But what about a person who listens to these confessions?

Also, if someone has done some bad karma in the past knowingly or unknowingly, it’s better to take it to the grave rather than speaking about it to anyone else, right? Because whatever gets attention, gets energy, and especially if it’s a bad thing, it shouldn’t be talked about.

Would like to know your opinion on this..

    Thanks

      Hi there
what people wish to do is their own thing.

on a personal level – if i have done something that i know is wrong then i act proactively to set it right asap, else it keeps on hammering in my mind. i do not think telling my secrets to others would help me in any way.
as a Jyotishi i always get to hear a lot of guilt, memories, actions from the charts/ clients i see. and its my responsibility as a Jyotishi to help them. but there is a entire vedang which i refer to when i counsel these people.
and i need do a lot of personal pujas for being able to do this. and there is an entire code of ethics which binds me. it is not easy.
i wrote a couple of posts for new astrologers and people who want to consult astrologers.. ref the index

    Hi Madam

For changing yadnopavit Makar sankranti is the best day?

Also, if you are not at home for some reason, then which of these options is advisable?

    1. Changing the same on makar sankranti but not directly under the sun ( meaning in room etc)
    2. Changing it on some other day but following the process of exposing the new yadnopavit to the Sun…

    Thanks

Could you inform on the same?

Also, is it ok to change the Yadnopavit every year just once after shraddha ? or is it advisable to do it in the meantime too on auspicious days like today was?

    Thanks

    Namaste Ma’am..

    In dualities purusha and prakriti..
    What is Purusha..?

Its same purusha which explained in Purusha sukta..?
    And..in shiva gayatri mantra.

Both Narayana And Mahadeva called as Purusha…But they appears different why?

    1. astrologerbydefault Avatar

      Hi there
purush as a sanskrit word has several meanings depending on the context.

in vedic sukta there are generally only 2 meanings.
that which resides in this body/pur – jivatma
and that which has filled/pur everything – Paramatma

Narayan and Mahadev are the same Purush. there is no difference.
Personal opinion is that puranic stories have messed up things and caused more confusion in our Dharma.

      sankhya has 2 meanings.
      one is the vedic sankhya
      one is the Kapilmuni sankhya
so depending on which one you are reading purush/prakruti will either be dual or non dual.

i will not discuss purush sukta so openly in a generic comment. it is not a topic fr casual discussion.

    Namaste Respected Madam,

Following your advice on practicing cartomancy (dispassionately) and keeping a journal for moon transits while observing myself has been helping me a lot on so many levels. One thing with cartomancy is the question has to be extremely precise (at least with the set I made – I followed your post) for the reading to make sense. Thank you!
It is the third anniversary of finding your blog and my deep gratitude for sharing these words with the world.

Ma’am, please try to clear a doubt.

In order to do certain activities or tasks, we look for the perfect muhurta…but as you have said before, finding the perfect muhurta is not easy, and may not happen all the time. So we see if we have tarabala or chandrabala, and so on.

For day to day activities, which is considered ideal to use or the most important? Choghadiya, Hora or Panchaka Rahita?

Ma’am when I try to use all three, I get confused.

    Thank you.

    Namaste!
First, thanks for post. As always every write-up here is loaded with wealth of information and offers immense learning for seeker.
“The maximum reduction in intensity is when you suffer the negativity in your dream states” – I have some confusion in understanding this statement. We usually remember and pray god for peaceful sleep before we go to bed. And if sleep turns out peaceful , does it mean that the opportunity to reduce some karmic implications in dream state is lost.
May I request you to help us understand this in right way.

    Hi Mam,

Most of the time it is better to spend time in solitude as it is good for spiritual path as well and sometimes I surrounded with such people around me that I prefer to be in solitude. But because of these incidents, sometimes family members, friends, and acquaintances become unhappy….it becomes difficult to behave superficially or fakely with them. Because of that, negativity of those people eventually comes to our end and it’s badly affect on someone, like me.

How we should avoid such people…and stay focused on our path…some people have lot of interference on personal life and also force from material world, there are lot of such suffocating situations that I feel helpless, so does it will affect us on karma level? Didn’t hurt anyone purposely still can anyone be responsible? Do you also face such kind of situations in life of adhyatma?

Please give your valuable thoughts… Thank you 🙏

      Hi there
Conditional reality ie vyavharik satya is something tht we have to live in. U r someones mother wife daughter friend boss etc. these relationship has to b honored and karma gone thru. And its a nice thing too, it makes life beautiful.
It becomes a problem only if you get excessively emotionally involved or expect people to behave as per your desires always or expect unreasonable things.
Try to b reasonable in all your relationships and things will b fine.

    Hi Ma’m,
There is something that I wanted to tell you, sorry if this takes too long, I hope you will read it some day. You have unknowingly given me some advices at the right time and I am always grateful to you for that. So, I always thought of asking you for a suggestion about something that bothered me very badly, as I felt you were the right/matured person of all the people I have listened to. Then I also hesitated to ask it in a public platform, but I also needed the answer badly, when I somehow found the courage to ask it, the forum comment section got closed and all the post comment section were closed and there were no way that I could talk to you, lot of things baffled my mind, as to why I couldn’t ask this before when there was a chance or why I came forward to ask when I won’t get any chance to ask or whether it is not in my fate to get an answer…. But this also taught me not to be this much emotionally dependant and slowly I am improving myself and if still I can’t solve my issues, maybe then I will come back (if fate allows) to ask for your advice. Here, I just wanted to whole-heartedly thank you for all the best advices that you unknowingly gave me. Have a good day ma’m. Thank you again. 🙂

    Madam ji
While doing the sea salt remedy ,we need to do the rounding in clockwise direction . But someone told me while eliminating negatives from body we need to round it anti clock wise direction so that it can be expelled. But in our culture also we use the clock wise direction only, and in hindi filims and all, arathi is also doing in clockwise direction. Is there any reason ?like movement of pran and cleansing of the same?

    1. astrologerbydefault Avatar

      Hi there
anticlockwise is used for destruction true. but when the scale of destruction required is very high, ie nivrutti levels, when you are destroying the illusion of creation itself.
(wrote on this somewhere, conches, Bhagwan Ganapati’s trunk, anticlockwise Swastik etc.)

there is no need to invoke such high level of destructive energy for basic evil eye energy removal.

    Dear Madam,

I have a few questions regarding the activation of the navarna mantra:

1> Is it possible to eat non-veg food during social occasions while activating the mantra?

2> If one has already been chanting the siddhakunjika stotram and navarana mantras during the morning before one learnt about the activation method and these have become a part of the daily practice then on starting the activation will the morning chants count towards the daily practice or the activation? How to remove the feeling of incompleteness of the morning practice if these start counting towards the activation?

3> Is full fledged bath in the night necessary? (It is very cold in my location and I’m already bathing twice – in the morning and before dhyana in the evening)

4> Is a silver moorti or yantra essential or can I use a sphatik or copper or brass yantra?

Some questions about the daily practice in the morning:

5> Background: Since the lockdowns, I have incorporated more and more mantra chants, to the point it is crossing two hours in the morning. Nowadays I’m getting late for work, I have developed a certain shortness of breath and due to long periods of daily fasting and hunched chanting I’m developing a paunch — I keep telling myself that I have to reduce the variety and counts of mantra I chant but keep putting it off, as I’m wary of the anger of the deities or of falling short of some mantra activation which I had started without any formal procedure. What I’m asking is:

5a. Will there be any adverse effects if I stop the mantra chants or do I need to at least chant it once to maintain some level of continuity?
5b. If I stop now and take it up later with the formal activation procedure, will these earlier chants count towards the activation or will they be lost?
5c. If they will be lost, should I persevere and hold on, as in, do mantra activations started without the formal procedure but only with a request to the deity even work?

    One question about Jyotisha:

6> When Mercury is conjunct both natural benefics and natural malefics how should we decide if it is a natural malefic or benefic for the chart involved?

Apologies for the long list of questions and may you advance in your dhyana.

    Regards,

    Amit

      Hi there

      1. you can eat fish for diet or medicinal purposes if you need to.
but avoid prawns/lobsters, chicken/egg, goat meat.

      2. once you start, every mantra chanted can be counted.
you should intend this, request Her and also ask for her forgiveness for any short-cuts that you take..

      3. bath in the morning is necessary. in the evening you can wash your just face/hands/feet and change into your puja clothes. this is also ok.
if this is not possible then you can visualise sookshma-ganga flowing all over you.
esp if you are travelling or something then a morning bath too may not be possible.
our Dharma is very relaxed. only requirement is tht the mind/intentions should be pure/strong.

      4. anything that is convenient for you. print it out and laminate it if you want.
just be aware of its power/consciousness.

      5. reduce it to what is reasonable. stick to one basic mantra. dig one deep well!
do yogasana, esp suryanamaskar if your health permits it. start with 3 reps and do at least 12 reps daily after a basic warm up. one suryanamasakr takes 1 min.
sit with your back straight. the neck head back must be aligned.
if you want to, then recite them once a day or once a week or on special festival days or on your way to work. no one is going to get angry, stop feeling guilty.
they will count, just be sure to put that intention into your mind.
no spiritual activity, no chant is every lost. every single one of them will give the effect.
