We use Jyotish, astrology to understand the energy of Time and to adapt ourselves so that we can best use its energies to gain in our lives. Jyotish is a Vedang and an integral part of Sanatan dharma aka Hinduism. Let’s use astrological principles, to analyse the events in April 2024 . It is a very happening month, with an intense shifting of energies.
Currently Saturn is in Shatataraka nakshatra and will enter Poorvabhadrapada nakshatra on 6th Apr 2024. He will remain in Poorvabhadrapada till 28th April 2025 after which he will enter the Uttara Bhadrapada lunar mansion. Saturn’s transit in Poorvabhadrapada is a significant astrological event with far reaching implications for everyone. Saturn is the slowest moving force of Jyotish and he stays in one rashi for about 2.5yrs. And he stays in one Nakshatra / lunar mansion for about 13 months. Thus we analyse Saturn’s nakshatra level transits for more precise predictions over about 1yr time frame.
In this time Saturn will be exactly conjunct Mars in Aquarius on 10th April 2024. Saturn and Mars together in Poorvabhadrapada will create conflicts. Also they are conjunct Venus, so his significations are also spoilt. Poorvabhadrapada’s energies do not support Mars and Venus. And Saturn is only averagely comfortable here.
The Vedic new year, Shri Krodhi, will begin on 9th April 2024. There is a major solar eclipse on 8th April 2024, the Phalgun Amavasya, the last day of Shri Shobhanakruti. It is a very highly changeable time, everything is in a flux.
Saturn will ago retrograde in this time on 3rd Oct 2024, and temporarily reenter Shatataraka nakshatra. This will add to the confusion. Then Saturn will enter the Meen rashi Pisces sign on 29th Mar 2025. Meen rashi is the most sensitive sign of the zodiac and any disturbance here subtly reflects on everyone.
Also Saturn and Rahu will start getting nearer each other. The effects of this energy will be visible from late 2024 and will continue into 2025, which has the potential to be exceptionally traumatic for everyone. With this background let’s try to predict the possible energy and events for Saturn in Poorvabhadrapada.
The Poorvabhadrapada lunar mansion/ nakshatra lies partly in Aquarius Kumbh rashi and partly in Pisces Meen rashi. It is connected to Jupiter who is another slow moving planet and a heavy weight in terms of karmic control. Poorvabhadrapada is ruled by the nakshatra devata, the deity Ajaekapada. He is the ‘unborn one who has one stage’, basically it is another name for the ‘consciousness beyond Time’.
Keywords for Poorvabhadrapada are challenges, harshness, hard work, cruelty, karma, endurance, destiny, spirituality, closures, intuition, subconscious states, etc. It is a severe and intense energy. The lunar mansion indicates the two front ends of the Hindu funeral stretcher or the bed and can also mean the ‘two earlier auspicious stages’. This nakshatra has only two and very different styles of working – it is either exceptionally cruel or exceptionally spiritual. The use you make of it, depends on your personal horoscope combinations.
In this time we all will want to destroy any current useless and obsolete things in our lives to make way for the newer and more useful things. And we will be very sincere and work hard for this destruction. Depending on your horoscope, this can translate to changes in relationships, jobs, residence, status, money, life, etc. Mental and emotional imbalances will also increase, as pressures at home, office, relationships, finances, etc increase.

Also any activity which results in pain, regret, anxiety, discipline, etc for someone or the other. It can be used to further any action which is against nature herself or against the fundamental human nature. So it will boost robotics, artificial intelligence, artificial reproductive tech, genetically modified organisms etc type of technologies. It does support making money, so one advice for the coming one year is to diversify your sources of income and work hard, you will get assured results. If you choose the spiritual fire, then first you will suffer. Secrets, mostly unpleasant will come to your attention. You will be required to use your courage and ability to resolve so many issues within yourself and in your life. But later you will be able to access the depths of energy, Tantra etc energy practices will come very easily to you. You will have true power in your hands. Again what you do with this is your choice.
On the global level, all the wars will continue and some will intensify. Internal civil issues will begin as the fractures in the societies become evident. All genuine nationalist people should work hard for the benefit of their nations, as traitors and enemies will be several. For Bharat, the elections are currently underway. There will be some unexpected political manoeuvrings but ultimately a strong national government will be there in place to deal with the things as this Saturn in Poorvabhadrapada energy deepens.
Rahu and Saturn will get within 15deg of each other in Jan 2025. This will usher in a period of severe instability in everyone’s life and also in the world. In fact this interaction will start making its effects felt from late 2024 itself. And Apr 2025 will be one of the most turbulent months in recent history. I am expecting severe political and financial repercussions which will involve several nations, more importantly the oil producing nations, the Middle East, Europe and USA. Our nation Bharat will also get caught in this maelstrom of energy.
As Saturn burns through Poorvabhadrapada, things will slowly escalate. And at the end of the lunar mansion, the last few months, in early 2025 will be dangerous. Or if you have invested in spiritual growth then this is the time you will get the results.
For remedies, if you feel inclined to then worship the Shivlingam. And use his specific name Bhagwan Mahakaal or address him as Bhagwan Rudranath. This will grant you the necessary courage to utilise the energies of the Nakshatra devata Ajaekapada and Bhagwan Shani in Poorvabhadrapada. On the day of the transit do be mindful, think of Bhagwan Shani or your adored deity and intend positivity and request help from the Eternal Self.
Generally everyone needs to prepare themselves for this transit. First is to get yourself in good physical shape. So this means exercising for at least 20mins daily. Move yourself, sweat it out. Next is to improve your emotional strength. So do your daily pujas at least for 5 mins in the morning and evening. Worship your Kuldevata and request strength. To improve your intelligence, I recommend reading at one shlok daily from the Bhagwat Gita or Devi Mahatmya in Sanskrit. If you can learn this one shlok by heart, it would be even better. Just the shlok and in Sanskrit, this will take 2mins of your time. And if you cannot manage this much, then read one page/ paragraph from a book in your mother tongue but it has to be written by an Atmajnyani Mahapurush, a genuine Satguru.
Finally you must try to improve your financial status. Find ways to diversify your income, this is going to be very important. Do not shirk from work. This is the domain of Saturn, he will make you work and you must not resist Him now. The final months of 2024 and then 2025 is going to be extremely challenging for several of us. So be prepared.
This time 2024 – 25 is a very harsh combination of Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu and Ketu. Poorvabhadrapada is an intense nakshatra and Saturn is karmic work, he is more endurance than enjoyment. The name of the new Vedic year is also Shri Krodhi, the ‘angry man’. Thus karma will be served. Especially the ‘curses’ from your past lives, which are pending are going to come forward.
