Cursed Saturn Rahu conjunction 2025 energy

This 2025 will see Saturn will be conjoint Rahu in the cursed shapit combination. This energy will be strongly released in the Pisces sign from 29th March 2025 to 29th May 2025. And this turbulence will affect all of us on earth. Saturn and Rahu are both cruel planets, kroor graha and Pisces is the most sensitive sign of the zodiac thus this time of about 2 months will cause life changing events for all of us. (YouTube video here)

In fact Saturn and Rahu will start influencing each other once they are within 15deg of each other ie from about 15th Jan 2025. And they remain within 15deg of each other till the end of 2025. So the entire 2025 is influenced by this shapit dosh. The last time Rahu and Saturn were conjoint in Pisces was in 1968, and this is considered to be the single most turbulent year in recent human history.

This time this combination is even more dangerous as during these 2 months, this Saturn in Pisces with Rahu will aspect Jupiter in Taurus. And Pisces which is under stress also belongs to Jupiter. This will restrict Devguru Bruhaspati. Jupiter is the Jivkarak, the guiding force for us humans living on this earth. And Venus the other Guru. Daityaguru Shukracharya is in Pisces from 28th Jan – 31 May 2025. He will conjunct this cursed combination during these two intense months. Venus is friends with Saturn, but Venus and Saturn together do not generally give good material results. And he is the teacher of Rahu, but does not always discipline him.

Technically these 2 months could have been very positive as Jupiter and Venus have exchanged houses, Parivartan yog. Jupiter in Taurus and Venus exalted in Pisces. But now both are constricted by the shapit yog. So in this Pisces triangle, a lot will depend on your birth chart. If Venus is able to dominate over the other two he will give some positivity. But if he is himself forced to work as they wish, then the time will be turbulent for you.

Saturn works on the material level, he is at the Mooladhar chakra and Rahu is always on the astral level so they have opposite natures. And when they are so close together, it can get messy.  Saturn is limitation, constriction, rules and regulations, social structure, law and morals. He is slow to act, in charge of your karmic payback, and represents reality. If you follow his rules he will eventually give you real gains. Rahu is fast acting, and especially in the current Kaliyug, he is inherently very strong. He wants to seize opportunities, break rules, will not think twice about cheating others. He is capable of taking extraordinary risks and is driven by his intense desire to experience everything at once. if you do anything under Rahu’s influence, it gets registered directly in your Sookshma sharir/subtle body, and creates deep-set karma.

So in this time frame, if you allow Rahu to lead you away from your karmic path, Saturn will not like it and will take action to discipline you aggravating the shapit cursed combination. Rahu and Saturn are both krooor graha, cruel forces of struggle, pain, sorrow, so when they come together, these negative results are magnified. It is a collective deep negative karma on the global level which was brewing for ages and now is out for resolution. This Rahu-Saturn combination in pisces will also not allow the other auspicious combinations to give their full results. So even if there are luxuries available, you may not be allowed to enjoy these positivities to the full extent in this time.

Generally, family life will be affected, disagreements, psychic attacks, nightmares, troubles with no identifiable reasons are possible. Expect some issues in the married life, arguments, temporary or permanent separation, divorces are possible. On the personal health front lingering diseases or lifetime medical conditions or addictions may start in this time. Especially pay attention to your finances. budgeting is essential and spend only on what you think is necessary. Then pay attention to your children, their habits, behaviour and their education. If you are pregnant, then follow the medical advice exactly. Children born during this timeframe will have this shapit negative combination in their birth chart.  This is also a combination for Pitru dosh and this will be a lifetime energy for them. For such babies, you might need to do some remedial pujas so do consult your Brahmin in time.

For some of us, this Saturn Rahu will give auspicious results together in some way and Venus can guide them for these high energy 2months. In rare charts Rahu can behave like a Yogkarak planet. And Saturn and Venus together are always auspicious for the ascendant signs Taurus, Libra, Capricorn and Aquarius. If they are auspicuous for you in your chart, then they can give opportunities especially in foreign lands, in import/ export, in trade, speculation/ stocks, gambling, chemicals, drugs, metals, and technology, electronics, politics, social work etc. But always use your common sense and do not get into illegal activities in this time. Even if Venus dominates, Saturn Rahu together can still reduce overall auspiciousness.

Now let’s see who are going to be affected the most by this shapit dosh. Open your personal birth chart.

Saturn is a Yogkarak for Libra and Taurus ascendants, so these two ascendants will suffer the least and may get some benefits in this time. Saturn rules over Capricorn and Aquarius so these two ascendant signs will also be able to manage somehow. Yogkarak and Lagnesh are always positive forces in a chart, and generally will not cause damage unless heavily afflicted in the birth chart. Venus is Lagnesh for Taurus Libra ascendant signs. And Yogesh for Capricorn and Aquarius ascendants. So if you have one of these 4 signs as your ascendant then you can get some opportunities at least on the physical levels.

Then in some cases, Rahu can function as a Yogkarak level benefic. If you have this combination then you will be able to use Rahu’s power to gain in life.

Then if you have a powerful birth chart, with a strong ascendant sign, strong ascendant lord and strong birth Moon you will be better able to cope with the energy. Or at least be able to channelise it into productive options. The Ascendant lord is connected to the physical self, and Moon to the astral self. If they are powerful, most of the life’s problems can be handled with ease. A lot depends on the power of your ascendant lord and the your birth Moon in navigating this time. Then if you are in Dasha periods of a functional benefic and he has sufficient power then you will have the strength to endure the negativity. He may also grant you the intelligence to convert adversity into gain.

But if you have this Shapit combination in your birth chart then you should be alert in this time. The time from 29 March to 29 May will see the most intense release of this energy. Then if you are going through a significant transit of Saturn or Rahu in your chart then also be careful. If you have your birth Moon in Aquarius, Pisces or Aries in this time, then you are in the Sade sati phase and the shapit combination can add to the mental stress. Then if you are in the Vimshottari Dasha Mahadasha of Saturn or Rahu then be careful. Or if you are in the Antardasha of these two in any other planet’s Mahadasha, then be very alert during this periods as they can create issues.

Note the birth position of Pisces, Saturn and Rahu in your birth chart. These houses/ signs may be a source of stress in your life. eg birth Pisces in the 4th house can mean sudden and expensive house repairs. Or Rahu in the 5th can mean that your children temporarily stop listening to sense. Or Saturn in the 2nd can mean that you may have to dip into your savings or there will be arguments especially related to inheritance etc in your close family. This you will have to work out using your own chart, the keywords etc.

This Shapit combination for these 2 months is of a very high energy. During this time both the Guru’s Jupiter and Venus will not give their usual positive results. And all this is happening in Pisces, the most sensitive sign of the zodiac. So a 100% remedy for such an intense global level karmic combination is not really possible. Some part of it will have to be gone through. eg if you were supposed to fracture your arm you get away with a mild sprain. And the highest reduction in intensity is when you undergo the negative results in your dream states. So do the remedies to reduce the impact of these cruel planets in your life.

So do the Mantra and give away the Daana for the planets concerned on the day they change their signs. Then do the mantra of your Kuldevata or Ishtadevta as a lifetime practice. Or take up the Gayatri mantra or the Mahamrutyunjai mantra or any vedic mantra of your choice. But do some Sanskrit mantra as a daily routine. Yo can also do specific Anushthans, Mantra jaap, Homa, Pujas like Satyanarayan pujas, etc during Utsavs, on festival days, your special days, birthdays, anniversaries etc from time to time to add positivity in your life.

And finally for students of Jyotish and followrs of Sanatan Dharma, the ultimate remedy is if you understand the energy and modulate your behaviour intelligently.  Saturn is involved, so try to be disciplined, work hard, be systematic and practical. Rahu’s involvement means that some opportunities will come your way. So in this time, act only those opportunities which are doable, practical, moral and ethical. Essentially in this time you will have to balance between desires, ambition, greed on one side and common sense, duty, responsibility on the other side.  And you always have a choice. If you are able to balance these two forces you can gain a lot in this time. But if you fail to understand the energy dynamics between Rahu and Saturn in Pisces they will wreck havoc in your life.

If you choose Rahu it is temporary gain but ultimately more entanglements. If you choose Saturn then it is temporarily pain but eventually freedom. In any case it is a  difficult choice. And maybe this is why it is called a cursed combination.

Thank you for this post, I was waiting for it.

Pisces ascendant with Guru Chandal aspecting Saturn in 9th house at birth-

    1) Is that also considered a low dose Shapit rog for lifetime? Jupiter affected by Rahu is aspecting Saturn through 9th aspect?

Currently in Saturn/Venus dasha both of which are malefics for Pisces ascendant

Gemini moon is not strong at birth chart.

So kind of anxious about this upcoming transit- as such recent times have not been good for me personally and professionally. Trying to look back what happened 12 years ago but then was runnning Jupiter Dasha so it was not bad, this time it is a different story.

    Three other questions:
    1. Does it makes any difference if Jupiter and Saturn are Atmakaraka and Amatyakaraka? Can this be used in a positive manner during this transition or for lifetime?

    2. I was reading your dark half and bright half posts, Retrograde Saturn and Rahu are the only two planets in my bright half in 9th house and 1st house:
How to best use this to create positive karma? And not be dragged into situations with more negative karma?
All other planets are in dark half in partial kaal sarpa so have no choice but to endure there.

It seems to me only way to handle these birth and transit energies, is to try to strengthen Moon by mantras and jaapa, and not react to anything very personally , but this is also easier said than done.

    3. Would you be able to write effects ascendant or moon sign wise- I can kind of anticipate this will affect my 1st house matters from D1 and 10th house matters from Rashi chart, but having a post would be so very helpful.

    Thank you so much!

    Hi Tejaswini,

Quick question about Saturn and retrograde planets. I’ve read that when retrograde planets, including Saturn, are exalted, they behave like debilitated ones, and vice versa. However, I haven’t been able to confirm this in my limited astrology experience. Could you share your thoughts on interpreting them?

    Thank you!

      Hi there
      It is not like that.
I have written a few posts on interpreting these. Do read the index.

Madam, could you tell the real story of Mrigashira and Mrigavyadha, mostly, all stories say, Prajapati had attraction to Rohini and chased her in the form of a stag, and Shiva as Mrigavyada, killed the stag, as true follower of Sanatan Dharma, I feel this story is poison injected, what is the real story

    1. Tejaswini Avatar

      Hi there
Puranic stories do not interest me .
I do not know this story so cannot comment on it.

      In Sanatan Dharma
      1. Ved get the topmost priority. If you do not understand what is being said then you are required to ‘upgrade’ your intelligence by doing mantra puja. That’s why Gayatri mantra puja is compulsory and 3 times in a day.
No one can question the Ved.
      Ved = vedpurva + vedant
This include the practical books – the original tantra books – which expand the bruhataranyak in a more easy guru/disciple format.

For the vedpurva/karmakand or even vedant to some extent you can consider reading translations in any other Bharatiya language.
But for tantra – do not ever read these translations in any other language. Not even to ‘get a feel of what’s being said’.
read only and only the Sanskrit tantric texts and only under the guidance of an Atmajnyani. This is a warning.

      2. Itihas
Ramayan – it ends with Shri Ram Rajyabhishek. Basic concept- The Phalshruti comes when the book ends.
Uttarkanda is not a part of the original Ramayan as it is not written by Maharishi Valmiki.
      And
      Mahabharat.

Both Itihas are equivalent to the Ved for the validity of the information/ knowledge.
In case of any discrepancies which could b coz typing errors, the Ved hold primacy.

      3. Purans.
These are the ‘amar chitra katha’ books.
      No historical validity by themselves.
They can give some additional details or add some relatable descriptions. But if they contradict the Itihas or the Ved then they have to be discarded.
Eg the so called ‘brahmavaivarta puran’ the most unfortunate example which is causing so much damage.

      Think logically, never emotionally.

    Namaskar,

I’ve been going through Sade sati since last 7 years, as my moon is in Capricorn. I was hoping this phase will bring me some calm. However after reading this, it seems even the saturns transit in Pisces would be difficult. Rahu is in the 1st house of my birth chart. Is this combination better than going through Sade sati.

    Thank you!

    Namaste Tejaswiniji,

This article reminds me of a query related to planetary conjunctions that produce negative energy. I have a suitor who has Sun, Moon, Jupiter and Ketu in Scorpio (born on a solar eclipse which was not visible or partially visible from his birth place). This stellium is either in the 1st or 2nd house, as the exact birth time is unknown. I have read that those born on an eclipse have a higher probability of remaining a bachelor. I’m wondering if those born on a solar eclipse have more spiritual inclination or mental troubles that would deem them as unsuitable candidates for a match? This person has separation from father (Sun/Ketu conjunction), but I’m not sure about the energy of this conjunction as there are so many planets involved. Many thanks for any insights you can offer.

      Hi there
births during eclipses need corrective remedies.

or births involving sun moon rahu ketu need to be analysed in depth

it would be better if you show both the charts for matching to your astrologer.

Many thanks for your videos and posts🙏🏻 Please keep them coming, they are a big help. I have a question on Yamaganda kaal. How bad is Yamaganda kaal? In the past I have prayed to my Ishta Devata and sometimes to Devi if I had to do an activity in this kaal and couldn’t avoid it. Is that enough or is there a remedy if you have to do an activity in Yamaganda kaal?

    Much gratitude

I have gone through other article on Shapit dosha. My son has Shapit combination and I wanted to understand is this a strong one or not.
He is Scorpio ascendant with Saturn in second house (26 deg) with Ketu (28 deg) and Jupiter (0 deg 10′). Rahu is in 8th house. Mars in 7th house. Moon and Sun in 5th house. Will Jupiter’s presence in second house reduce intensity of Shapit dosha ?
