Astrology and love interests

Today let’s try to decipher the mystery of what really impresses a woman. This is an eternal question and probably Brahmadev, the Creator himself is also not very sure on this. But astrology can offer some insights.

Here is a simple method which can offer clues on what a woman feels attracted to in a man. This will work for at least the initial first meeting. The first spark that two people feel when they meet each other for the first time. However for long term relationships or marriage, we have to read the complete horoscopes of both the partners in depth.

www.psychologicallyastrology.com

Mars is the energy of life and death. He is competitive, passionate and welcomes a challenge. In love or in war it is Mars who provides the energy. In a woman’s birth horoscope, the position of Mars determines that first spark of interest which she feels for a man who enters her life. Here are some general observations depending on the sign the Mars occupies in the horoscope.

If the woman has her Mars in the Aries sign then she is attracted to the strong type of men. She prefers them to be independent, confident and straightforward. She has a preference for sportsmen and athletic types and physical fitness is a definite plus. She likes her man to be adventurous and daring. She does not prefer men who are sensitive, or shy or are indirect and make her guess.

If a woman her Mars in the Taurus sign, she prefers men who seem stable and make her feel secure. She is attracted to men who have a traditional sort atmosphere around them. Simple, masculine, down to earth, hardworking and sensible men. She does not prefer her man to be overly emotional or overly intellectual.

If a woman has her Mars in Gemini then she is attracted to intelligent men who are able to speak well. Being able to joke or sing is a definite plus. She prefers men who look younger than they are or have boyish features or at least a dressing sense which makes them look younger. Her ideal man is lively, playful and imaginative. She does not prefer men with traditional masculine looks, instead prefers the slim, delicate sort of intellectual type.

If a woman has her Mars in the Cancer sign then she prefers the sensitive type of man. She is attracted to the moody or temperamental sort of vibe. However she still wants to feel safe so wants her man to also be of the traditional masculine stereotype. Mars is debilitated in Cancer so these women are often not really sure about what they want and when. They are attracted to complicated men but yet set in the traditional style.

If a woman has her Mars in Leo, then she is attracted to men who are imposing in some way. Proud, regal, dignified and confident men are her ideal mate. She prefers her man to be someone who mixes with everyone yet manages to keep a separate aloof profile. But in private she prefers her man to be playful and fun to be with. Rich, well off and generous men who have just that little touch of possessiveness are her perfect type. She does not prefer serious, emotional or high maintenance type of men.

If the woman has her birth Mars in Virgo then she is attracted to a healthy, neat and clean sober sort of men. Modest, sensible and systematic men appeal to her sensibility. She wants a competent man who is helpful, useful and supportive in nature. Intelligence is appreciated but overly intellectual or emotional men are a turn off for her. She dislikes men who are show offs or are loud.

www.psychologicallyastrology.com

If a woman has her Mars in Libra, then she prefers men who are handsome and elegant with a neat and clean looking vibe. Being dressed neatly is a plus. Men, who appear rude or unhygienic or unbalanced are a turn off for her. Men who actively show good upbringing, good manners and have a natural charm are her ideal mate. She likes conversation, a genuine exchange of ideas. She enjoys romance, gifts and little surprises which are a plus.

If the woman has her Mars in Scorpio then she is attracted to mysterious men who are complicated, passionate and secretive. These are the brooding sensuous men with hidden depths type that we seen in the movies. She likes intensity and wants her man to be possessive of her. She dislikes men who are clingy, chatty and charming. She wants those magnetic types who can set her heart on fire.

If a woman has her Mars is in Sagittarius then she likes her man to be intelligent, honest and charming. Energetic, pleasant men who are active in society interest her. Regular men who are settled, happy and capable of conversations, with a general happy go lucky vibe. She does not like egoistic men who boast about their achievements in life.

If a woman has her Mars in Capricorn, then she finds competence attractive. She likes men who are socially prominent in some way or in business. Stability, seriousness and sincerity attract her. She does not like men who seem overly youthful or carefree or refuse to take responsibility. She prefers a man who has clear ideas about his life focus, can strategise and achieve his goals. Men with a traditional mindset suit her.

If a woman has her Mars in Aquarius, then she is impressed by men who are have a social presence, yet are not traditional nor conventional. She wants her man to be interesting but not shocking. He has to be financially stable and otherwise also provide her with security. She likes outgoing men who are somewhat unconventional and who know how to have a good time. She does not like her man to be overly emotional or extra intelligent or boring.

If a woman has her Mars in Pisces then she is attracted to the complicated man who is also sensitive and expresses his emotions. Confident men who are self sufficient are a turn off. She wants her man to depend on her in some way, so that she can come to his ‘rescue’. A man who is troubled   by the society or has a unsupportive family, ie is helpless in some way interests her. She prefers men who have a ‘soft’ side.

In addition you can check out the synastry combinations. Mars is the main planet who ignites mutual passion between two people, but he cannot grant staying power. The 5th house is the house of ‘selfish love’ and the 8th is the house of physical intimacy and secret passions. So if in synastry, Mars is connected to the 5th house then he can trigger instant strong passion between the two. Romance and sexual desire can be heightened in this synastry combination as that first spark instantly turns into a raging fire. But this is not an indication for a long lasting partnership by itself. There need to be other combinations to support the relationship.

Mars synastry in the 8th house also leads to random and intense desires for intimacy. Again this is not an indication for long term relationships by itself. Venus-Mars synastry combinations can grant a long term romance. And Venus can eventually balance out the intensity in the long term allowing a more mature yet romantic partnership.

Thus the position of Mars in a woman’s horoscope can be used to judge what kind of partner attracts her at least in the initial phase of the romantic relationship. So open your own chart or your sample charts and see for yourself how Mars behaves in romance.

    Thank you Tejaswini ji,

Opening paragraph was humorous lol, yes it’s an age old conundrum.

I think this would be good for women to check and see see how this fits in with their own Mars.

However, since you are teacher for us all – how about doing one for the boys!?

Essentially ‘how to be more attractive’ to women is one of the big 3 or 4 areas if we look at general areas of what sells.

Funnily enough, you have actually given a great tip there it itself.

12 possible Mars position. 12 types of attraction.

So men – lean into your own strengths, be authentic, be healthy, own your style, increase prosperity in your own life, don’t expect to be attractive to everyone, and look out for that spark.

    Useful advice.

But since we can’t peer into a womans mars position on sight, and by sight looks matter for a woman also immediately there is limited scope.

What would be the ‘approach’ for a man

i.e. find where our mars/ venus is, and develop those ‘karakas’

    * oh, from previous post your comment back to me – now I see how we CAN invoke Lord Skanda to improve our dating life! lol

    On that note Tejaswini ji,

I had brainstormed some unusual but interesting and useful topics, perhaps you might want to consider for the other channel, if if so a corresponding post here.

Considering the depth behind the video on ‘Proper Expansion’ akak Prosperity, Samriddhi. Yet it was adressing a fundamental issue.

So I’d picked up on topics that immediately attracted me recently that also may have a deeper lesson to be learnt from it. Just a few from them for you to consider.

    1) kamajani mudra – mudras are well known, but this one doesn’t seem to be. Considering apparently to not just ‘get rid’ of habits such as smoking, lust, filthy habits, and destructive actions etc. but to Channel the energy behind them into creative energy.

    2) Shatruganh – I found out that he was on a next level of intelligence. Apparently with jotish as well and perhaps being the least known amongst Sri Ram’s brothers.

    3) Brighu bindu – we all want to know ‘what to do with our lives’. So was keen on knowing how to solve this puzzle in a systematic simple manner. I believe this point tells us about something very important in our lives which is not even a pathway but more like a mission to be accomplished – big or small.

Happy to help, and sorry if this isn’t much help!

Was just noting very vital, underserved, yet intriguing aspects that could offer tremendous value.

    Namaste,

This is somewhat different from what you put normally, and yet interesting. With my own Mars in Gemini in 4th house, I see your point about getting attracted to intellectual types, but since Mars was stuck with Mercury and Moon, and also aspecting Ketu in 7th house in Virgo, all of which led to some Doshas which no astrology remedies could solve till date (and which you would know better about, than me). When I was younger, this kept making me fall for the same type of “intellectual, family oriented, conversationalists men”, and each time the relationships didn’t work, it took a bit of me.

But now that I am closer to 40 than 30, I have kind of learned if I can intelligently channelize all these “failures” and negative energies in a more positive way for self-growth, then Ketu effect will kick in to bless me with peace of mind.

I don’t know if you agree with self-analysis or not, I will let you decide how you want to respond, (or not). But yes this post reminded me of my struggles with “same kind of men” and relationships when younger 🙂 Life is the best teacher and these lessons are better learned in hindsight.

      Hi there
i do not like being type cast.
if you go thru the index, i have written so many posts in a lighter vein.
romance, money, profession are all equally important. we are right now Gruhast people.

i see several people who think that we should live a highly satvik life.
but the 3 gun have to be balanced. excess of any one is problematic.
tama is very important. in fact the best personal sadhana is in the nishita muhurt, when the entire world is inert. this is the most precious vishuddha tamogun. the manas is inert, the buddhi is also inert. at this time it is easiest to observe the so called ‘mahashunya’ which is actually the ‘poorna’.

    1. Can we take the various interpretations on different Rahu-ketu axes and apply them to the D9 chart as well?
    2. In your post on ancestral karma, you had ended it saying that ultimately it is our own karma that we are suffering for. Is there an implied assumption that we are an ancestor reborn? When we’re told we’re suffering due to ancestral karma, that is.

      yes

yes – we are all reborn, we travel as a soul group.. so we are all each others ancestors ..

yes – i had written about this in a few posts.
      https://psychologicallyastrology.com/2018/10/21/abortions-and-implications-astrologically/
the souls who have decided to endure through this part of their karma, choose such a family whose family members are is destined to go thru similar karma. often it is in the next generations of the same family

each one enjoys /endures his own karmic fruits.
eg. if i get a gift from my brother, it is my karma to get them. it is karma to give them.
if i am enjoying the gifts then its my positive karmic fruit

if my brother insults me, it is my karmic fruit to receive it and feel hurt. and it is his karmic fruit to lose his temper and give the insult.
in both cases he was the medium through which i received my karmaphal. i cannot feel indebted to him for the gifts nor blame him for the insult.
but this is on the inner spiritual levels

on the physical level i will thank him with all heartfelt emotion for the gift.
and also not talk to him again till he apologises for the insults.

but if i do not resolve these emotions on the inner levels then they will become new karma giving new karmic fruits for the future. that cannot be allowed.

I request your kindself to help me understand the last paragraph of the reply ” if I do not resolve these emotions in the inner levels then they will become new karma giving new karmic fruits for the future, that cannot be allowed” .

Does that mean in the second example when the brother insults the sister, and sister does not talk until an apology comes, …..

        A. the future agami karmic builds, isit from holding the cold feeling against brother and repeatedly accusing the brother for the insults made, adds to future karma of the sister.

        B. And future agami karma is not built, when that sad feeling of insult experienced by sister is not spoken outwardly and also not debated internally, and when the brother comes face-to-face, a word of Namaste/Hi from sister is said, will not build future karma of the sister?

When you say inner levels what are all the attributes I should take care to stop building future karma?

        Please guide.

      2. astrologerbydefault Avatar

        Hi there
i simply meant that if i do not resolve these feelings of – happiness and sadness both – on the intellectual level then it will create further karmic fruit for me.
if i leave anything hanging at the emotional level then it becomes karmic fruit later.
if i resolve it on the intellectual levels it does not.

i will give a violent example.

suppose A married B and hit B till B died.
now B would have felt betrayal, pain, suffering, horror, all sorts of negative emotions. B blames A for his death. and A took enjoyment hitting and killing B.
now this becomes a karmic fruit for both which will have to be resolved in some future life.

suppose A was an executioner and executed B as per the judge’s orders as per the law.
B and A are not emotionally linked in this situation. B does not outrightly blame A for his death. and A has no happiness in killing B. neither the judge has any emotional link.
they do not have that interlinked karma.

inner level means the intellectual level.
outer level is the emotional level.

So, in your post on wealth and children, when you talk about how karmic repercussions are borne by children/ next generation from the use/abuse of 5-11 axis, that is also part of the broader scheme? As in, they were destined to go through this karma and ended up being born in that family?

Mam, I have heard in many mythological stories, and also from Bhagavatam, that many great characters, do not blame the opposite person, even if the opposite person caused mental and physical torture of great characters. Is it a way of avoiding future karma/attachments/vasanas……..is it mana samyama or their conscious behaviour to ward off future karma!

    1. astrologerbydefault Avatar

      Hi there
the Guru and the Bhagwan avtars know the Self. so they are not involved at this level at all

the higher level sadhaks consciously try to resolve their emotions intellectually so as to not create future karmic tangles.

But and this is very important…
just because i know intellectually that I am One, there is none other, etc.. …
it does not mean that i will just sit down and stop acting…
if someone tries to hurt me i will defend myself and also retaliate. If someone shows me genuine affection I will respond equally nicely..
knowing wht the ultimate Reality is does not invalidate the experience that is unfolding around me.

just because the intelligence knows that it is watching a movie does not make the movie useless.. in fact the enjoyment in the movie becomes even more intense.

manah sayyam automatically stops new karmic ties from binding.

if you regulate your mind, do not get swept away in emotions
then automatically your intelligence will start operating.

just because intelligence has started functioning does not mean tht emotions go in the dustbin. the ‘flavour’ of the emotions can be enjoyed even more ‘intensely’,
this is the Rasa concept that Swami Abhinavgupta emphasises. In Advaitaic Shaivism also called Kashimr Shaivism is the apex of Tantra.

read books by genuine Gurus. start with the Bhagwat Gita

      Hi there
if you have some background on Hinduism it will be easier to understand
      – the Saptapadi which are taken by couple are not just the 7 vows, they are the 7 steps to spiritual evolution. there are the 7 chakras. the couple are ‘shown’ the ‘7 mountains’ by the brahmin during the ritual pujas.
the promise is that they are Dharmapati and Dharmapatni, they are supposed to strive together for Dharma. ie help each other complete their Gruhast duties which are open the route to vanprast and sanyasashram.
7 lives is not the physical lives, they are these 7 chakra.

next time you have go to a genuine Hindu marriage Vivah sanskar observe the pujas, the mantra, try to understand what is being said.
witnesses are the Sun and Agni.
      It is a Sanskaar
the 7 pads are the 7 chakra
      they are dharma pati/patni
      devatas are invoked. etc,.

      Hi there
you have asked the fundamental question.
when did this ‘start’ and when will this ‘end’ ?
if you are really desperate to know this answer then you qualify for the Vedant.
if i tell you the answer, you wont believe me, it is so obvious.
but the rule is that one believes the answer only when one has exhausted all other possibilities explored all possible options and realised that they were unsatisfactory.
      start reading the BG.

        Namaste Madam

I have this questions for years now and listened to multiple spiritual talks and have dug around on your blog also for the answer.

        How did it all start?
Why did it have to start? Everything could have been inert for ever.
Only common answer through all the reading is “kama” desire. The ultimate reality wanted to experience itself and hence the first act was desire and so it began..

Burning question for years.. Pl let us know Mam.

Every since I was a kid I have constantly asked my parents and eventually friends “ what if the life we are living is a dream and we suddenly wake up and realize that we are not 25 years old” what if we are sleeping somewhere and this life is a dream. They would get scared and asked me to stop having freakish thoughts.

      2. astrologerbydefault Avatar

        Hi there

‘why did it start’ is not the correct question.

‘kama’ is not just desire. it is so much more. the entire creation is this one word which is so highly misunderstood. the entire sequence of lives is to understand this one word.
the sequence is Dharma to Artha to Kaam and only then Moksh. and beyond.

the ultimate reality does not ‘want’ anything. it is poorna in itself.

dream v/s awake states is a common metaphor to describe the ajnyan and jnyani and beyond stages..
a dream does not have a start but it does have an end…
        similarly ..
your physical body /sthool sharir is 25yrs old
but the atoms, space, consciousness is eternal

your sookshma sharir is as old as this universe – so many billion yrs old whatver is the accepted figure
        but its consciousness is eternal

your karan sharir / causal body cannot be said to have a beginning – but at one point of time it will have and end

vedant or sookshma tantra is paradoxial to someone who has not studied Logic, Math, Sanskrit, geometry etc..
it can lead to insanity if the intellect is not prepared.

so read the BG, start with this
        then the Upanishads and onwards.
        Read.

    1. astrologerbydefault Avatar

      Hi there
the Astra are not physical weapons they are mantra.

Bhagwan Shankar giving him the Astra means that Arjun did intense pujas with that mantra which was given to him by his Guru.
and after the necessary pujas/ repeats etc the mantra became Siddh. ie he could use it as a weapon. as the ‘creator’ of this mantra is Bhagwan Shankar it is said that Bhagwan Shankar gave him the astra.

read the Itihas Ramayan. the part where Maharishi Vishvamitra gives Shri Ram the Astra. the Astra are intelligent/ consious/aware energies.

mantra are used for various purposes

I really enjoy reading your blog partly because you have incorporated qualitative description (or as per your blog name, psychology!) that I found to be easily found within the Tropical community. Not to start the debate of which system is better or worse, but Tropical is typically honed into one’s expression depending on the house placements and rasis (for example, this post).

    Thank you!

      Hi there
I had discussed this in depth in several of my early comment posts somewhere.

My blog is about Vedang Jyotish.
there are set principles, rules and methods of interpretation which if used correctly give about 95% accurate readings.
      Vedic Jyotish is highly accurate.

i do not consider the opinion of people who have not read the standard books to be valid.
First read then practice. apply the principles to real life horoscopes. then
      https://psychologicallyastrology.com/books/

I have incorporated the qualitative description because they are given in the standard books.
and they also tally with the clients i have seen all my life.
everything that i write comes from a book. just that i dont have the time nor do i feel the need to give the exact references.

unfortunately as far as i can see, there are no students who would understand what i can really teach. I would love to teach what i really know.
so as a last resort I am writing these watered down posts.

‘western astrology’ does not exist. they don’t even believe in rebirth. their life philosophy is YOLO. so logically the astrology – past lives, future lives etc – is meaningless for them.
they have no understanding of astronomy neither the math that goes with it. they do not know that the Sun wobbles on its axis which needs correction. the foundation is extremely faulty.
they are not even sure about how many planets are to be used and why. and now they are adding asteroids to the charts.
they have no standard books, nothing.

i do not encourage students of ‘western astrology’. if you are such, then this blog is of no use to you.

    Namaste Madam,

It’s great to hear that you actually would love to teach. 🙏

Unfortunate we are not ready! Your knowledge is needed for the next generation. Maybe at some point we are ready to receive.

On a lighter note maybe you can try Teachable course modules ( just basics ) and set it up such that the course becomes accessible for those who are able to answer a quiz/few questions that you deem fundamental. I’m sure people would put in effort and commit to Jyotish for a chance to learn from you

It would be amazing to have you as a Jyotish teacher. Dream come true for many on this blog I’m sure.

Hi, I was just wondering if you could write a post on Mandi (considered to be Saturn’s satelite), not much information available yet believed to be most worse than saturn, I myself have Mandi in lagna, after observation found that this makes one slow and lazy sometimes (in learning and understanding). I tried to find the definition for love I only ended up in understanding that people misunderstand attachments and possessiveness to the self as love!, anyway please write about Mandi in your free time it could be more helpful,
    Thanks.

Maandi has another word Gulika … It is part of Muhurta Shastra, as I had read long ago.
In later books, it is brought into Jyotish Shastra too.

Uttar Kal Amrit talks about it at length and exhaustively. Calculation methods are also given.
If you try to search “Gulika”.. you will find lots of post on Maandi too.
