This period from Nov 2019 to Jan 2020 is a very unusual period. The slowest moving graha, Saturn, Jupiter and Ketu are conjunct. This combination has not occurred at least in the past 300-400 yrs!
And all this in Sagittarius, a sign owned by Jupiter himself. This makes their energies more potent. This is the natural 9th house of the chart and it represents hope, luck, kindness, benevolence, life-foundations, life-philosophy, the support of peers and patrons, the blessing or curses of the ancestors, religious views, the right action to be performed. Having this major planets in this sign affects everyone at very deep levels.
Generally two planets conjunct is a frequent combination, more planets conjunct is rare. During this period we will witness a six planet conjunction and the seventh Rahu opposite them so he too is drawn into their energies. This is a very high energy event.
During this period we have the following things happening too,
- Venus, Mercury, Moon and Sun will conjunct the trio (Saturn + Jupiter +Ketu) at different periods briefly.
- Combustion is when the Sun draws off the energies of the planets placed very close to him. Saturn and Jupiter will go combust.
- Sun will get eclipsed, a total eclipse.
- Moon will get eclipsed, a partial eclipse.
- Rahu and Ketu, the true nodes are moving very slowly in their forward motion, almost stationary.
- there is a planetary war going on in Sagittarius, graha yuddha
The energy of these 2 months is extraordinary and most of us will be experiencing events which will have life-time impacts on us.
Let’s look on things from Ketu’s perspective in this post. Ketu is the headless graha, the real Moksh karak, he is the things you have no attraction to in this life and he represents the lessons you have learnt deeply in your past lives. You are unaware of the Ketu-things in life. Ketu will be conjoint these following planets during these two very happening months.
Before going on, do a small analysis of what these planets mean to you in your birth chart. To know what they will give you and how will they will behave in transit, you first need to know what the planet is capable of in your chart.
Ketu in Sagittarius has brought to all of us some lessons learnt from the past life experiences of philosophy, benevolence, kindness, all-inclusive nature, luck, optimism, faith, inner self, long journeys, learning, teaching and the blessings of the Guru. We have done all this in some past life or the other, but were unaware of the learnings. This Ketu has given us the fruits of those experiences, we can consciously use them during this period. There is general optimism as Sagittarius belongs to Jupiter and Ketu reflects Jupiterian qualities here. This is a philosophical placement by itself and the only down-side would be uncontrolled over-expansion which brings a downfall later.
During this period, you must have learnt new ways of communication. You have passed on whatever you have learnt. Writing ability, adaptability, flexibility, logical analysis and putting your thoughts out clearly must have happened in some way or the other.
Saturn – Ketu
This conjunction is quite rare and occurs every 18yrs, in the present time it is going on since Ketu entered Sagittarius in March 2019 and will continue till 22nd Jan 2020 when Saturn will leave Sagittarius. I have written about this combination in this post.
Ketu is fiery and dissociative. Saturn is airy and restrictive. They together is a tough combination. Saturn is the work required to rebalance karma. Ketu is the lessons you have so learnt completely and deeply in your part lives, but you are consciously unaware of them. There is an underlying negative or pessimistic attitude during their conjunction and there are often tragic situations. You might have issues in your profession or a run of bad luck. Ketu can bring focus on the negative qualities of Saturn or go to the other extreme where you are unaware of Saturn’s role in your life! In which case it can bring some relief from the demands for karma rebalance. A lot depends on the birth chart and the house where the transit is happening. It is like having Saturn with double the power in this point of your chart.
Sagittarius has its calming effect on both the planets and now that Jupiter himself has joined them, he will reduce their combined negative effect further. For a brief time till 15th Dec the Daityaguru Shukra, Venus is also conjunct here, a very potent combination.
Overall Ketu and Saturn have challenged your views on your personal life philosophy and you have been made to work with new perspectives. Ketu also means penetration and an unusual instinct. Saturn is routine. Together these two have brought in some new-ness in your life foundations, though you may not have been able to accept it at first. However there is significant benefit in long-term, so whatever the situation is, follow your conscience, be patient and keep on working.
Jupiter – Ketu
This is a good combination as Jupiter gives Ketu a direction. It is like having two Jupiters in Sagittarius! Jupiter + Ketu combination is also relatively rare and occurs every 12yrs or so, but the fact that it is happening in Sagittarius makes it special and auspicious.
Ketu is instinct, the past life lessons you fall back upon and Jupiter is wisdom and hope. Together they are quite good. Past karma of the positive sort is willing to give its results now. You are capable of being a good teacher, a good philosopher, a successful spiritual aspirant and you are bound to be this now. However there may be unexpected bumps and restrictions on your path, be patient and persevere. If Jupiter is afflicted in the birth chart, there may be problems in social life and issues with the peers and ancestral spirits. Avoid being rigid about your own opinions, listen to the other side also. This can get cruel sometimes if Ketu overpowers Jupiter’s inherent humanistic tendencies, so consciously try to be kind to yourself and also to others. But as this is happening in Sagittarius, Jupiter’s own house so guard against over-expansion. Keep your analytical mind ready and act after thinking things through. You will be sensitive to things, intuition will be high. Ketu’s typical ability to fog the mind or conversely penetrate through the fog will operate. You might be blessed with children now if the birth horoscope indicates it. Avoid getting married during this period.
Venus – Ketu
Venus will be with Ketu + Jupiter + Saturn till 15th Dec 2019. Ketu + Venus indicates that the past life karma connected to relationships of all types has reached its apex, you have learnt all the possible lessons from the Venus syllabus. Till now you were unaware of your these lessons, but now you will be made aware of them. For the spiritual aspirants this period is pure gold! You can use those skills from your past lives consciously.
You might get some opportunities to showcase your artistic talents. For those in the fashion industry this period can be quite productive. Avoid making serious business commitments or financial transactions or getting married during this period. Be careful of starting new relationships during this period. You will search for love, but it will lead to disappointment and frustration. For those who are already married, marital happiness might swing between extremes, passion and apathy. If you are trying to conceive a child, best wait for some time.
Moon – Ketu
Moon in his monthly transits will pass over Sagittarius, coming in conjunction with Ketu here. During this brief window of 2.25days per month, you might observe these sort of effects on your mind/ emotions. This has already happened once on 28-30 Nov 2019 and will happen once more on 25-27 Dec 2019. For the spiritual aspirant, this can be a very good period for Devi pujas. The eclipse on the no-moon Amavasya of 26th Dec is going to be exceptional.
Dreams, visions, deep mediative states, psychic stuff. Insights into the paranormal and other dimensions or sixth sense can operate. Your astral self is influenced by the separative planet Ketu. If your Moon has matured in your birth chart, you will benefit as Ketu will trim off the over-emotional and over-reactive bits of the mind. This might help you focus on the important things and allow multi-tasking and analytical abilities. Ketu has the ability of creating a fog or penetrating through the fog. On the flip side, you might feel fear of unknown or actual ghosts or negative energies around you. Intense Ketu and sensitive Moon together can sometimes be quite difficult to handle, especially if the Moon has not matured yet.
However do remember that on 25-27 Dec 2019, Moon is going to be influenced by several planets, keep your emotions in control and don’t let anything distract you.
Sun – Ketu
Sun enters Sagittarius on 17th Dec 2019 adding his energies to the Jupiter + Saturn + Ketu already present here. Ketu and Sun are in a way similar, fiery, can get quite angry, are intense, royal, have a penetrating intelligence etc. Heat and cruelty are characteristics of both. During this conjunction in transit, the traits of the Sun are strengthened. Creative energy, centre roles, prominence in public etc are possible. There is clarity of thought and action. Aggression born of a feeling of entitlement will be there. So make use of this.
Ketu eclipses the Sun, which he will be doing now. The Solar eclipse in the morning of 26th Dec 2019 will be a soul-changing experience for all of us in the eastern hemisphere where the eclipse will be seen. Especially for India and people in India at that time, this eclipse is very important. The Sun is our self-ego, so this eclipse by Ketu is actually good for spiritual growth. However this can also be seen as a loss of confidence or self-centric behaviour or mental confusion. Avoid the extremes of pessimism and also over-enthusiasm and you will be alright. Sagittarius is a fiery sign so the environment is conducive for both of them. This conjunction is a very unique opportunity for all of us.
Mercury – Ketu
Mercury enters Sagittarius on 25th Dec adding his energy to Sun + Jupiter + Saturn + Ketu present here. Analytical Mercury and the other-dimensional Ketu energies will change the way people think for a brief period. There is willingness to think out of the box, to try innovative things, to experiment and do new stuff. Imagination and the ability to act both will be boosted.
If you have a positive Mercury in your chart, this period will lead to a very creative phase. Astrologers would be able to give really good predictions, as the analytical ability is boosted. Finances, stocks and money making abilities are favoured.
If this Mercury is unable to give good results then, criticism, irritating juvenile behaviour is expected. Analytical ability will be affected, this can lead to frustrations in crisis. There is possibility of harm by gossip and loose talk. Legal issues are possible. Avoid financial dealings and speculations during this period.
What is going to happen in these few months is very unpredictable as there are so many forces and events happening one after the other very fast. But whatever happens will leave its effect on your for a life-time or several life-times. Do some spiritual practice so that this energy gets channelised in the best possible manner. Burst of energy is not the problem, in fact tantriks /shamans and energy practitioners are already doing their thing and channelising this enormous energy.
So in conclusion, these few months that we are living through now are very dynamic with almost all planets (except Mars) being affected by the Rahu/ Ketu axis. It is very significant that the true nodes are practically stationary in the forward motion and the rest of the planets are moving very rapidly over them. It is an exceptional time which will not repeat in our life-time. So do make use of the opportunity and create something lasting for yourself during this time.
