Avoid people who give you bad advice

Everyone likes to give advice to others. And there will be so many people trying to give you advice, free or paid. Your parents, siblings, friends, teachers, boss and teammates all will have some advice for you. Some of these will give you good counsel which will help you in life. And some will purposely try to misguide you so that you land in trouble.

But among all these people, there are a few typical persons whose advice you must never follow. If you follow their advice you are bound to get into trouble.

These people are the agents of the house of imbalance, litigations, arguments and inequality. This is the Mahadushamsthan, the house of imbalance, the 6th house of your horoscope. The 6th house represents all possible imbalance which affects your body your mind your emotion your assets and also your physical environment. It is the gradual wear and tear the almost imperceptible erosion of your personality and these people people have the potential to trigger this.

The ruler of the 6th house is always the biggest source of turmoil in your life. And if you have planets in the 6th house then these are also going to add to the stress. This naturally means that all the people who are represented by these planet are a potential source of stress in your life.

So open your horoscope and note the ruler of the sixth and the planets placed in the sixth house. Ideally it’s better if the 6th house is vacant, there will be lesser turbulence in life. Note the people represented by these planets and be careful of them. They will cause you problems knowingly or unknowingly, purposely or randomly but they will cause problems.

Now a planet represents two sets of people – 1) naturally 2) horoscope specific.

First let’s identify the people naturally represented by the planets.

  • Sun – the father, especially so if you are born in the daytime. And all the people who have some sort of power over you, eg the government, officers, politicians.
  • Moon – the mother, all the maternal sort of women you meet in your life and all the women of your mother’s age group.
  • Mercury – your younger siblings, your office teammates, all your like-minded friends of the same age group, traders, travellers and neighbors.
  • Venus – your spouse, your business partners, all the attractive young women women of the younger age group.
  • Mars – all the handsome masculine young men, your brothers.
  • Jupiter – your seniors, teachers and guides. All the people who are superior to you in some way. People who have given you some foundation in your life. He can also represent your husband if he is significantly older to you.
  • Saturn – aged people, senior citizens. He also indicates the labor class, all the people who are inferior to you in some way, your subordinates. And if you are born at night then he also represents your father.
  • Rahu specifically represents your paternal grandparents. And he can also represent foreigners and all the exotic people you meet in life.
  • Ketu specifically is your maternal grandparents and he can also represent all the people who are not considered to be a part of the regular society.

Now the chart specific agents. Let’s see some examples –

1. If a planet owns two houses and one of them is the 6th then check which one of these two is his mooltrikon. Eg – Cancer ascendant, 6th house/Sagittarius lord is Jupiter who is also the owner of the 9th house/Pisces. Sagittarius is the mooltrikon for Jupiter so he is naturally more inclined to give the fruits of the 6th than the 9th

2. Any Vipreet raj Yog connected to the 6th house can give the brash courage needed to counter such stress causing people in your life. But it is always better is to know who they are and to be be aware regarding their activities in your life. Eg. Leo ascendant, 6th lord Saturn in the 12th house, will cause losses to your enemies. But you may also create new enemies by ignoring certain very evident things because they never register to your mind.

3. The 10th lord is considered to be good in the 6th house, but being aware is always helpful. Eg. Libra ascendant – 10th lord Moon is in the 6th house. So best is to think twice before acting on the advice of the people you meet while doing your job. And your women juniors / seniors in your office will cause you active harm or at least be a source of non stop stress to you.

4. Taurus and Scorpio ascendants – the Ascendant lord himself owns the 6th house. These people have the potential to create enemies by their own behaviour but then they also have the capacity to effectively deal with these enemies. But in any case, think twice before you act. It is possible that you are your own worst enemy.

Now that you have read the theory, also do the practical part. Note the planets connected to your 6th house and note your interactions with these people around you. Observe them carefully and come to your own conclusions. And then change your behavior as per your observations to minimize the stress in your life.

    Ma’am,

Will parivartan yoga between 6th and 10th house doubly reinforce bad advise in professional settings.

    1. Tejaswini Avatar

      Hi there
a planet connected to the 6th should always be viewed with care. one should always be alert here.

but this combination is good as it gives professional success as you tend to work systematically and veyr hard for it.

the post is about the advice you may get. but what you do with this advice is your 1-5-9.

      Hi there
6th lord in 6th can give a rare courage to handle the troubling events in life.
u tend to use these events to rise even higher, find unexpected positives in the most unbalanced situation.

    Namaste mam,
I need your guidance, say if 6th lord occupies 5th house. Does it mean 5th house has become turmoil? If 6th house lord receive drishti, 7th dristi of fullmoon and 9th dristi of mooltrikona Jupiter, does it mean the 6th lord catastrophe is changed and 6th lord becomes goods and gives positivity?

    1. Tejaswini Avatar

      Hi there
i have not seen the 6th lord give results that give happiness to the mind.
eg if he is strong etc, he will give you money, material benefits etc but everything he gives is really a source of stress in itself.
he can eventually give spiritual growth as you then rationalise these stresses in a philosophical manner.
so anything connected with the 6th house should not be allowed to become an emotional issue. keep these things at that outer level or at the intellectual level.

the 6th house lord will use the power of the 5th house. the 5th does not become the house of turmoil!

      Hi there
      you are welcome 🙂

Venus and Mars owned ascendant signs, all 4 of them have the highest inbuilt challenges but they are also the most balanced people once they sort out their things. this happens mostly after the asc lord matures.

I’m Virgo rising, and Saturn Lord of 5th and 6th houses residing in 2nd house Libra (exalted) with Venus in 3rd Scorpio = spells calamity on the family level, I guess! 5th House Capricorn hosts Mars (exalted), Lord of 8th and 3rd.

      Hi there
do not jump to conclusions like this! Jyotish does not work like this.
there should be at least 3 patterns in the chart to convert a potential into the material reality.

your 5th house is strong, you have the necesary courage and intelligence to sort out the information / direction that you recieve, your 5th lord is exalted so even higher levels of sense and confidence. etc. 8th lord in 5th can give some very subtle level of intelligence where you can get into the very core of the issue, get some very intuitive observations/ understanding.

i see no issues with venus in 3rd in scorpio it is fine

as lord of 6th in 2nd, minor family issues may pop up from time to time, the major issue here is generally property division but try to get it sorted out with your parents.

    Namaste,

Thank you again. Your posts are so timely! I had a few questions if you don’t mind…

    1. Empty 6th house, with 6th lord (Sun) in 3rd house: Does that mean bad advice will come from father (born in night time) and siblings and/or due to poor communication with these people? If one does not have own siblings, does it extend to cousins too? I have always trusted my father’s advice so much…

    2. 6th house lord (Sun) in D1 moves to 6th house in D9 and is Vargottam and in Pushkar Navamsha in Taurus sign- does that makes the 6th house lord (Sun) more malefic or help to decrease the stress?

    3. 6th house has a very high ashtakvarga, next only to ascendant sign in D1, does that mean planets transiting over 6th house will invariably give those results (debts, disease, enemies, legal issues, etc.) My own life is perennially plagued with these but so far have been able to keep going, maybe due to God’s grace?

I do Surya arghya and chant Aditya Hrudayam every day, is it okay to strength the 6th house lord Sun like this?

    Thank you!

      Hi there
      1. observe your these relationships. think back and come to your own conclusions.
i have given the general rules on the interpretaion, you have to apply it to your chart yourself

      2. he will give stress, that is his job, but he will give some positive benefits also.
eg you work day and night and you get the promised raise and an unexpected promotion

      3. you will get some unexpected benefits in addition to the work

yes. he is the ruler of the zodiac and the natural karak of the self.

      1. AP Avatar
        AP

        Thank you for clarifying…
Yes observing/thinking back.. all my 6th house issues have been activated by trusting father-like figures, bosses, men in authority, no siblings of own, so trusting friends who I considered as family….

I will be more cautious. Cannot undo the chain of events already in motion, that’s prarabhdha, but can train myself not to react or think over advice properly before acting.

Also my 6th house lord in 3rd house is opposite Saturn in 9th house, so this is a pattern there-father/communications/family.

In moon chart, Saturn sits in 6th house, Sun in 12th, and in Saturn dasha, so yes a lot of emotional stresses related to 6 and 12 house issues. I feel my personality is getting eroded slowly and steadily with time. But trying my best to learn from this blog and observe events in my life more dispassionately like a bad movie show.

Both nandi and shivling are intact

It is fine if I install this in my home temple or should I remove the chipped base?( I was able to remove nandi but shivling is firmly sticked)

I had done 22 kund snan with the shivling itself

Confused on what to do, would appreciate your opinion

if the moorti /lingam is intact then you can do its pujas.

if you feel bad about the base, then try to mend it by using glue or something which matches the material. try some diy crafts

I have one query how will be dasha of Jupiter for Taurus Asc if Jupiter being lord of 3rd and 6th house is placed in 8th house (Taurus) combust (within 3 degrees) from Sun (11th lord in 8th). Will it will be vipreet raj yog ? Will combust Jupiter not good for children (being Karaka for children) There is Mercury also in 8H but not combust much behind Sun and Jupiter. This post was a good read, thank you for writing it. It’d be the same for Gemini ascendant too? 6th lord (scorpio) is also the 11th lord (aries), but 11th sign is mool for Mars.

In my case 6th lord is in the 7th house and 11th house has Jupter Venus conjunction then meaning young men (mars), young women (venus), teachers (Jupiter), spouse/business partnr (7th house), and lastly, friends/social circle(11th house) give bad advice. I am new to Jyotish but I do see this and rely on my parents only (for advice).
Does chalith chart also play role in this? eg, a planet goes to chalith bhave 6th house but is not in 6th house in birth chart? In my chart, Saturn is in 6th in chalith only to an otherwise empty 6th house in birth chart.
I’m so happy to have found your blog by chance through youtube. I now have a lot to catch up on.

    1. Tejaswini Avatar

      Hi there
      the 6th is the mahadushamsthan
and the 11th is the worst of the upchays.
so both should be analysed in depth.

6th lord in 11th is also a good combination of the mahadusham owner in the upchay.
the problems will exist but you will also be ruthless about eliminating them from your life.

the people in the 11th – that is broadly the like minded groups type of people. you in a group of friends type of vibe.
advice from these people should be reviewed.

Jyotish is about analysing your own self, behaviour, mindset, etc – in a more intelligent manner.

chalit charts are important esp if the planet is at the very edges of the house and influences the adjacent house significantly. eg at 29deg or 1deg where it is 16-14 in the 2 houses.
the planet who influences the bhav-madhya, the center of the house is the major effect .. but these chalit ones can influence esp in typical transits or dashas.

Mam, thank you for this post. Mam, I have a question. I am not able to do my Puja path regularly. I do Puja path for 10 days to 15 days and then I am not able to do it for three to four days even if I want to. I did Vishnu Sahasranama daily in the month of Kartik, now I am not able to do it in the month of Margsheesh. This happens with every god’s energy. Sometimes I do Hanuman Chalisa 7 or 11 times daily, sometimes I am not able to do it even for a week. Is my regulatory discipline lacking in this? What should we do so that we can do the regular Puja path properly with concentration. These days only Surya Argha and Gayatri mantra are regular Pujas for me. Saturn can become weak, Saturn antardasha my and Saturn dahiya are also moving in cancer sign.

      Hi there
i always insist on doing only that much which you can regularly. this is compulsory.

and doing special anushthans for a few days here and there if you want. this is optional

in my personal opinion, you should be a business partner with your older relative/parent/uncle/aunt only if they are willing to be a sleeping partner ie you take all the business decisions as they will always think you to be younger / child/ neice/nephew etc and not let you grow.

    Namaste Tejaswini ji,

Very useful post and video, thanks a lot🙏🏻 My 8th lord is sitting alone in 6th house – a case of Vipreet Raj Yog. The agents of this 8th lord have created stress in my life many times for no fault of mine. So I learnt to not trust these agents, though I have helped some of them in the past. Despite the hurt, I have accepted that these will cause trouble in my life.

My 6th lord is sitting in 7th house with Badhakesh who is in swakshetra and combust Mars. Marriage did not happen despite a lot of desire and efforts, not to mention that my parents did not try much. As a novice learning vedic astrology I think a marriage could be problematic. So despite the loneliness there is a part of me that is afraid to get married😢

My 6th lord, Mercury is in the 5th house (parivartan yoga with the Sun) and Mercury is also my atmakaraka. If the 6th lord is atmakaraka planet, does this create additional issues in a person’s life? Also, does this post relate to advise from parents with my sun and moon placement, or could it also relate to my own judgment (i.e. mind and ego getting in the way of making good decisions)? Any insights and remedies you can offer would be much appreciated. Many Thanks.

6th lord as atmakarak – does not create new issues.

      Hi there
our current Hindu society is highly confused because we are mixing vedpurva and vedant.

for a householder age person – ie till the age of 60yrs – you are supposed to follow Vedpurva as your Dharma and not Vedant. you can, of course, read the Upanishads and work for Moksh but only in your private life.
Hindus are allowed to behave as per the vedantic principles in public life also only after the age of 60yrs.
now in this young age you are required to work for Dharma Artha and Kaam in your public life. these Purushartha / goals fr in intelligent human are also equally important. so earn money, enjoy life with your family, spouse, children, parents, in-laws etc. take part in Dharmic festivals, utsavs etc.cand help create a Dharmic younger generation.

if you feel like it, do read this.

      2. Tejaswini Avatar

        Hi there
i recommend at the very basic
        1. Shri Sukta – listen or read or recite as per your choice.
        2. reading one shlok of BG per day. read it in sanskrit and in the Indian language of your choice. buy Gita press books
        3. Soham – with your breath whenever you can ..
        4. Surya arghya.
        5. remember your Kuldevata or if you do not know who this is then Bhagwan Ganpati.,

if you cannot find time, do it as u travel to work.
even 5 mins is fine, but do it daily.
this much is enough for people below the age of 60yrs.

at your current age – get married, have a family and all.. pay your debt to the ancestors and to the society.

there is no room for escapism in Sanatan Dharma, all this is your own karmic fruit, it is your choice, and you chose it because you are confident that you can excel in this.. trust your higher self.

and Shri Krishna is our ideal. his life was full of Sangharsh, non stop wars, people trying to kill him right from the moment he was born. i think he was never even formally given a name.. ‘Krishna’ in Sanskrit means ‘black’ he had black skin so his name was just that ..
his parents and grandfather were in jail. he had to kill his own uncle at the age of 11yrs. then face the allies of his uncle Kans, esp Jarasandha. then he had to run away from Mathura, build a new capital in Dwarka… ‘Rannchodd’ – we call this strategic retreat now, but at tht time people must have said that he ran away from the battlefield.
see how he killed each and every one of his enemies systematically, and yet held on to Dharma.
read the Mahabharat – read what he says to his grand daughter in law Uttara when her son was born dead. ..
this is the ideal we aim for.. we take courage to face life and its vagaries from Shri Krishna.

    Thanks for your articles Ma’am!
Slightly off-topic but grateful if you could answer this…
Is it true that the 6,8 & 12th lords should be weak in the chart as compared to the Trinal lords?
Like would an exalted 6th lord &/or 8th lord, placed in angles/trines make life more difficult & challenging?

    1. Tejaswini Avatar

      Hi there
      no,
and such sweeping statements are not good.

6th house weak – you may have to work hard or not get suitable work or not the salary suitable for your work
8th weak – acute illness is possible.
12th weak – nightmares and astral attacks

and exalted 6th in 5th can be an exceptional service provider, or lawyer or a Dr..

Its an insightful post 🙏, will help in so many ways, but as per your earlier blogs i already started observing the trend and i saw a pattern that is the people who dislike on a purpose or the moment they saw me is usually people who came under rashis of 6th lord and even temporary staff of the office have issues with me even though i always like to get their acceptance, may be because saturn placed in 6th house and later they tend to soften towards me indicating its 11th house lord too.since i read your blogs now i know that there is no such merit in considering the friendship it will later cause friction. Now only i know the planet placed in 6th house has also the same prospective.gratitude as always🙏🙏

Hi Tejaswini! Great article. Just curious: what time span is considered a night birth in Jyotish? With great respect Jo

    1. Tejaswini Avatar

      Hi there
‘time span’ – the Raatri maan – the span of the night – is the sunset to sunrise at that place of birth.

    Dear Tejaswinima’m,

Thank you for the great insightful article. I have a query regarding how to interpret sixth lord as expansion oriented Jupiter who is aspecting his own 6th house. e.g. Jupiter in 2nd house or 10 th house for Cancer ascendant ? Will he expand troubles in 2nd house issues and dilute troubles of 6th house significations simultaneously?

    Thanks and warm regards
    Hema

Being cancer ascendant my 6th and 9th lord Jupiter is in 3rd house aspects the 9th his own house and is 10th from moola trikona sign. So can I say he is more connected with 9th house than 6th house?

    Hai mam🙏🏻
I am being Cancer Ascendant my 6th and 9th lord Jupiter is in 3rd house aspects its own 9th house. So can I say it is more connected with 9th house than 6th as it is far (10th from moola trikona sign) Just keeping some good hopes for coming Jupiter dasha next year as Rahu ending now has been worst for me in my life time..

    1. Tejaswini Avatar

      Hi there
it has its positives and negatives
6th lord in 3rd is good
jupiter aspecting 7th 11th directly aspecting 9th / pisces is good
jupiter in maran karak sthan – do read about it and remain alert.

I appreciate your content and links! Big fan, have been studying your material for a year now. Thank you so much!!! It has illumined on a lot of things I probably wouldn’t have understood, since I basically am allotted a solitary existence with servile ways, so I’m rarely afforded candid insight or advise in my journey. Your material though has given me a keystone in understanding my journey, which revelations have been most jarring.

I really enjoy your remedies also, especially the peacock feathers, you helped me to verify my “hunch’s” on these supernatural events in life. You are my hero, truly, your generosity is exceeding. I never had a good source on this spiritual business, I’m unlucky when it comes to teachers, with my Jupiter being in the 12th house, my guru is my secret enemy, so I tend to have to go inwards to find and accept what I can, and hope things work out.

I come to accept people how they are though now, especially when it comes to enemies. It hurt to see that my father was an enemy (his action verify this), and that my life experience at work, and with basically everyone I ever met has been antagonizing. My mom is a mother devil also. So I basically am in hell, but I’ve lied to myself for 33 years I guess, hoping things would change, with success and age, but money and worth never brought me any change from the pattern I found in childhood. At this point, I can laugh, cause of the consistency in the suffering I’m experiencing, its a miracle it has never changed, so I’m sure there is grand schema at play here. I was only so mad in my delusion of my reality, rather than the lack of love; how can one know, what one has never had?

I’m learning how to organize myself though, so I can make this hell I’m in into heaven. To be present and focus on things I love.

        Hi there
change your mindset and the world will also change itself.. it is all about the intentions you have within your mind.
this is why we are taught to recite mantras, we channelise the Mind.

    I have come here..
Openly I am saying this..one with strong Venus mercury will get supreme results..But one who has saturn and ketu in Kendras struggle a lot. I have seen thousands of horoscopes, where I saw this pattern..
Moon must be strong, later 5,9,10th houses must be strong.

saturn and ketu together anywhere are going to give less than happy results.

Can Saturn and Ketu together, that too in 9th be redeemed somewhat by Jupiter in Sagittarius in lagna, with Sun and moon there too?

      2. Tejaswini Avatar

        Hi there
        9th lord in 1st
        1st lord in 1st
is very good. it balances out a lot of things

just check if your mercury is in 1 4 7 10, as it may result in kendradhipati issue

if amavasya birth then may have a different energy

ketu saturn if within 15deg then will cause stress,
wrote a post on saturn opposite rahu – read it.

Dhanyavad for your reply. You mentioned mercury causing kendradipati dosh and I looked up the meaning and placement. Mercury in this chart is in 2nd house. But I didn’t understand kendradipathi issue happening only if Mercury is in kendra. Mercury owns 7h & 10h for Sagittarius lagna.

    Stunning description Mam!
I wanted to become a psychologist, but realized that it was mentally difficult for me. I have moon in 6th Leo and Sun in 8th house, Pieces ascendent. Does it mean avoid helping others? I am doing art now, moon dasha.
    Thank you!

    1. Tejaswini Avatar

      Hi there
helping or not helping others – do as per your wish.
if someone asks for some help then you can think about it if its not going to cause you harm. but ultimately each one must think for themselves.

Moon in 6th house means that you imagine a lot and think of other’s situations from your perspective.
      – eg if your friend is eg addicted to cigarettes. then you think from your perspective and feel bad, that he is doing something which will spoil his health and all. but remember that from his perspective, he is enjoying the smoking. but then most likely you will interfere in his life, try to give him unsolicited advice etc and then the situation eventually gets messy and the friendship may break.

personally i think that no one is really capable or competent to help others.

You are so right!! I always give unsolicited advice, it comes of as harsh sometimes, but when I see they don’t listen to me I change strategy and adapt to their language and accept that people have to go through personal trails in life, just let it be. I find tarot reading to be helpful as it gives a more holistic advice.
        Thank you!!
