I have been asked several times to write predictions for our nation Bharat’s future. But mundane astrology / Medini jyotish is majorly lost to us. There were several systems eg chakras from Atharvaved etc used in mundane astrology but these techniques are not available in their entirety. Our Gurukuls, temples, libraries and universities were systematically destroyed by these uneducated and illiterate invaders, humanity has lost this knowledge permanently.

An approximate method is to use the birth chart of the nation, ie the time/place of a historical event where the people of that nation agree that their nation has been born. To cross check we use the birth chart (if available) of the leader of that nation, projecting his fate on the nation. Analysing past events can indicate future trends.

For Bharat, we have two potential ‘birth’ dates. The midnight 15^th Aug 1947 where the nation was born as a ‘Dominion’. And 10:18am 26^th Jan 1950 where our Constitution came to force and our nation was born as a sovereign self-governing Republic. ‘Birth place’ is New Delhi, our national capital.

For Bharat, if we consider 15th Aug midnight New Delhi as the birth time then our nation has a Taurus ascendant, Cancer Moon. I have written several posts on the chart specific malefics/ benefics (index page). For Bharat, Saturn is Yogkarak. As nation if we use his qualities we have a greater chance of gain. ie, being practical, rational, logical, pragmatic, doing the assigned karma sincerely etc. And as he is the Yogkarak he will not actively harm. Taurus and Libra ascendants have this advantage, Saturn does not actively create problems, instead helps resolve them. For Taurus ascendant, Jupiter is the main troublemaker. He owns the dushamshtan 8th and the biggest trishaday 11th. But he is placed in the 6th, so capable of vipreet raj yog. So if you observe, whenever we as a nation try to project our image using the qualities of Jupiter, we are generally branded as hypocrites, weak, fence sitters, indecisive etc but later we do get some credit. And if you think, the biggest problem Bharat faces is ‘religion’. Mars is the other malefic for Taurus ascendant, so do try to work out for yourself how martian energies affect our nation.

Some observations on the global situation in the coming years.

All unstable geopolitical situations will get worse. I have written two very brief posts on long term prediction trends here and here. And have also mentioned this in my several posts on transits, eclipses, new year predictions etc that we are entering a extended period of instability which will continue at least till the mid 2030s (index page).

At present, there are several nations have contested boundaries and all of them are under stress in one way or the other.

• The Ukraine – Russia war will continue. Anti Russian forces will keep this boundary bleeding for as a long as possible trying to destabilise Russia. Its unseen instigators were hoping to set the world on fire using this as an excuse but this did not happen. Russia is a capable and sensible nation as seen from its chart and it will survive.
• The overt conflict which has exploded in the ‘Middle East’ has greater potential to create global disturbance. It has extreme emotional and religious overtones as it involves all three religions, the two older ones are aligned against the youngest third one. Nations have aligned themselves in dangerous positions fuelled by emotions and religion. If you remember, just till a few days ago, Aries was hosting Jupiter and Rahu and this Guru chandal combination was aspected by Saturn. A highly expected outcome is this exact religious fanaticism leading to overly risky and miscalculated invasions having disastrous consequences.

The global economy is in tatters and cannot sustain. The Guru chandal aspected by Saturn has done its work. The current economic domination of the ‘collective west’ is being challenged and a transition to a more fair system is slowly underway. All repressed nations/ ‘colonies’, current and former, are ‘rebelling’ against their current/ former oppressors /’colonial masters’. But the ‘western empire’ will not let this change happen so easily. But this time is not in the favour of the ‘current world order’. There will be a change. And the formerly suppressed nations will demand their rightful positions in the global order.

2024 will see a slow escalation of all these ongoing international issues. The religious extremism will slowly spread to the other nations too. A economic recession/ collapse will gain momentum. Civil tensions will simmer throughout 2024.

Jupiter will be in Aries till Apr 2024 and in Taurus from May 2024 for 1yr. In this time frame, he is not affected by the major cruel forces, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu so he still can support some nations depending on their ‘birth charts’. In any case the all the nations must use this time to consolidate themselves.

The entire 2025 will experience heightened tensions on the global levels but I am still counting on Jupiter to help some nations at least. (You will have to check the individual charts of the nation you are interested in.)

Jan 2025 onwards Rahu and Saturn will get within 15deg of each other, Saturn in Aquarius and Rahu in Pisces. By Apr 2025 they will be exactly conjunct and together in Pisces and these 2-3 months will see a very serious escalation all over. The Middle East region, the USA and its allies will be worst hit and which will impact the world in several ways. Every nation will go through at least one unavoidable unexpected event which will have long term implications, ie economy will be hit, civil riots in non-participating nations etc. Again the effect on each nation must be seen as per its ‘birth chart’.

The last time Rahu and Saturn were together in Pisces was in 1968 – 69. 1968 is said to be one of the most turbulent years in history and 1969 too had its dramatic moments. Thankfully this time around Rahu and Saturn will be together in Pisces for less than 3 months but it is enough to trigger disastrous events.

Students of Jyotish should specifically analyse past events in the Middle East when Rahu and Saturn are conjunct. Each conjunction event in the past has created wars, regime change, etc in this region which has affected the world.

For Bharat.

Now Jupiter in Aries is not auspicious and the effects are visible. A series of tragic events in several states have raised questions regarding the capabilities of the government system and the effectiveness of the legal system. Several states are going for elections now and I expect anti-nationalist forces to dominate. These states will give a fractured mandate or a mandate for the opposition parties, in any case there will be more deterioration in the governance and justice systems. On the international levels, the several recent diplomatic missteps have hit us negatively. These spats if not handled carefully, can lead to actual confrontations in the matters of trade, reciprocal agreements, economic issues etc which can cause losses and hardship for our nation.

I am expecting a patriotic central government in the 2024 elections which should at least keep things going on the physical levels. However this government will find things tough as the global/local conditions are going to be overall adverse. Our state and national level leaders have to be pragmatic enough to rise to these challenges. ‘Being Jupiter’, ie hopeful or benevolent or helpful or ‘vishvaguru’ may not be the best strategy, but he can help us repair our economy, reduce civil tensions, improve public health etc to some extent from May – Dec 2024.

In 2025, for Bharat, Saturn would have generally been favourable in Pisces but Rahu has spoilt him. But still Saturn will help us during his stay in Pisces in 2026 – 28, in some ways but we have to collectively work for it. Saturn rewards you only if you have worked for it.

For our Bharatvarsha, just like the rest of the world, the time is not auspicious. We have to remain ‘non-aligned’ as far as possible. This principle is not new to us and hopefully our leaders will have enough diplomatic acumen to maintain a fine balance despite intense provocation to ‘join the fight’. We have to stay away from the ‘with us or against us’ sort of rhetoric. If we get dragged into wars not of our making, our men, women and resources will be lost fighting other’s wars for them. We are going to have enough problems of our own in this decade and cannot afford getting into other’s issues. Our internal peace and national economy are our topmost priority. As brothers and sisters we will always quarrel internally, but when an external force challenges we must respond as one united family. And this logic is applicable to every nation.

We, as a nation, must always keep in mind that millions of our great-grandfather generation needlessly died in WW1 and WW2, just 1 century ago. WW1 saw at least 10 lakh Indian soldiers fighting and dying. And in WW2, an incredible 25 lakh Indian soldiers again fought and died for the colonial power which had looted our nation for 4 centuries. (Their efforts could have been better used to build our nation but no, they were recruited by ‘leaders’ who posed as freedom fighters and encouraged to fight for this colonial nation.) As our men died in foreign lands their families here also suffered. And this was throughout India, the north-east, east, west, north, south, every state saw pain. In addition to the braveheart soldiers dying in another nation’s war, the war efforts, the resultant famines, hazardous conditions, the severe drain on our resources resulted in the deaths of at least 50 lakh Indian civilians, men, women, children, in both these wars. History is very brutal and these ‘non-glamourous’ Indians are never acknowledged. To the extent that even, we, their descendants know nothing about their personal bravery, pain and ultimate sacrifice. ‘Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.’
