As per drikpanchang, true Rahu and Ketu will enter the Pisces Virgo axis on 29^th Nov 2023 and stay there will 29^th May 2025. (mean Rahu Ketu calculated values from 30^th Oct 2023 to 18^th May 2025). I use the true positions of the nodes and not the averaged calculated mean values. They are slow moving graha, staying in one sign for an average of 18 months.

Pisces and Virgo are the most sensitive axis of the zodiac and planetary influences on these two signs have major impacts.

• Currently Jupiter the owner of Pisces is not comfortable, due to the Guru chandal and the 3rd aspect of Saturn. Thus he will not be able to effectively guide Rahu in Pisces till Apr 2023. Some negatives – increase in loneliness, illusions, unnecessary travel, hypocrisy, immorality, lack of rest, astral attacks. Some positives are an increase in aloneness, spiritual practices, being aware of reality, logic and deep thinking coupled with intuition.
• Mercury is the ruler of Virgo and he changes signs once every 24days or so. Ketu in Virgo can grant some positives, ie increased intelligence and logic, spirituality, systematic planning, communication skills, stability and capacity to endure (less reactive), etc. Some negatives are lethargy, ‘time pass’ purposeless activities, aimlessness, self doubts and inability to act at the right time.

Generally the graha move in the forward direction, ie they indicate your plan for working off your past karma. But the nodes are generally retrograde, thus they represent the new karma which you will create by your actions in this lifetime. (Charts of people born around eclipses have the nodes in the forward direction, these have a spiritually distinct mindset.)

Rahu and Ketu are astral graha and do not give direct material results. The indirect material results that they give is through the other planets they are associated with. In the birth chart, they work through the owner of the sign they are placed in, the planets who are aspecting them and the planets they are conjunct with. Results of this particular transit primarily depend on whether Rahu and Ketu are auspicious or malefic in your chart.

Their primary influence is on the mind/ Manas and the intellect/ Buddhi. Rahu is desire and Ketu is apathy, but together they have a spiritual agenda. Rahu will make you chase your worldly dreams but at that high point of success, he show you that these material achievements are hollow. As you fall flat on your face again and again, the heartbreak eventually makes you to turn to the inner world seeking real happiness. Ketu does not allow any materialistic interest, he will make you search instinctively for the spiritual. For the unspiritual person they are the karma pushing the Chakra system out of balance. But for the evolved ones, they are located at the Ajnya chakra – Rahu and Sahasrara chakra – Ketu.

The true purpose of Jyotish is to illuminate the inner Self. Every material misfortune if seen in the correct perspective has the potential for spiritual growth. As students of Jyotish we cannot remain attached to material benefits as we know that these are highly changeable. As the transits occur so do the situations change, things come and go. So we try to remain aware of the constant unchangeable intelligence shining through creation using the lens of Jyotish. This post is about Rahu and Ketu, so a reminder of their spiritual potential is necessary.

The predictions will vary as per your birth chart, Dasha period and the other transits occurring in this 18 month time frame.

• Strong charts, ie with a strongly placed ascendant sign, Moon sign, Moon, ascendant lord etc are able to manage the changes in their lives with more confidence.
• Rahu or Ketu as Yogkarak in the birth chart do not give disturbing results. Even if they get badly placed in transit, their birth position will ensure some positivity.
• If Rahu Ketu are exalted or auspicious in the birth chart or in the Navamsha D9 then their negative effects in transit are reduced to the bare minimum.
• If Rahu Ketu are debilitated in the birth charts then their positive effects in transits are significantly reduced and negative effects are enhanced.
• If you have your Rahu Ketu influencing several planets in your birth chart then as they change their signs you will see more effects on the material plane linked to the keywords of all these other planets.
• If you are undergoing Rahu or Ketu dasha periods on the day they change the signs then their transit will have more influence on you.
• If you are in your 40s and especially beyond 48yrs of age then you will be better able to make use of the positive effects of Rahu Ketu in your life. All the planets mature by late 40s so the Mind is better able to understand and respond to the surrounding situations.
• If you have any planets in your birth chart in Virgo or Pisces then the keywords of that planet too will be triggered by the influence of Rahu Ketu and you will see some significant change in your life linked to these planets too. eg if you have Saturn in Virgo then Ketu with Saturn will give rise to a heavy energy which can cause difficulties.
• In charts born around eclipses, the nodes are forward in motion. If the rest of the chart is powerful enough to use these forward nodes then I have observed that the nodes act as Yogkarak, especially favourable for spiritual progress.

I have given the results for Rahu and Ketu separately. If your Rahu is stronger than Ketu then his readings will be more prominent in your life and vice versa. Some pointers to check their comparative strength in the D1 birth chart.

• Which house do they lie in, eg if Ketu is in the 1st house/ascendant he gets more power to influence the personality.
• Which sign they are in, what is the function of this sign lord. eg if Ketu is in a sign owned by the ascendant lord or yogkarak, he has more power.
• Are they conjunct any planets? The functional role of these planets. eg if Ketu is conjunct the Ascendant lord himself or even the Moon or Sun he has more power.
• How many planets are they conjunct with, ie how many houses do they control. eg Ketu is conjunct the Yogkarak and Rahu is not conjunct any one then Ketu has more opportunities to influence the personality.
• How many planets are aspecting them. eg if Ketu is aspected by 2 planets and Rahu by none then Ketu will have more power over the personality, etc.

These predictions are as per your Moon sign but if your ascendant sign is stronger (Ashtakvarga) then to some extent you can blend the results of the two signs.

These readings are only for the movement of Rahu Ketu. These will be modified by the transits of the other planets in this long period of 18 months. I have added a point for the major influences of the slow moving Saturn and Jupiter. The overall result will depend on the interaction of all the transiting planets with the birth chart and the dasha period.

Aries

• Rahu in the 12th can cause some health issue which will have a permanent effect. There will be a lack of rest, nightmares/ astral attacks will increase, spouse and family can be in stress. Projects may be delayed and investments will not give desired profits. But you do your pujas sincerely, your spiritual power will protect you from these negative effects.
• Ketu in the 6th is more favourably placed. So take up some regular pujas to channelise his power and act on your instinct. This will help you restore your health and finances. Enemies will not be able to damage. Subordinates will be obedient. Your service requirement will be easier to manage and there will be less sufferings. And even if there are stressful situations, Ketu will give you the courage to sail through with minimum fuss.
• Saturn is very favourable throughout. The transit of Jupiter in Aries till Apr 2024 is troublesome. But after that till Apr 2025, Jupiter and Saturn are poised to give excellent results together.

Taurus

• Rahu in the 11th is poised to give you gains in several fronts this is his best transit position. However remember that the gifts he offers are not permanent and will last for as long as the transit lasts, so make the most of it. Money sources will increase, health will improve, profession will give success, family will be supportive. You can invest in new projects and past stuck money/projects etc will start again. Avoid borrowing money or asking big favours from others in this time, small favours are ok.
• Ketu in the 5th can create temporary separation or arguments with the spouse. Children can suffer from illness or require your attention. But your creativity, intelligence and intuition will be on a overdrive and you will be able to instinctively take the correct decisions in life. Occult powers may increase. Finances will improve, you might hit the jackpot in this time. Just sensibly invest the money you get, as Ketu often is ‘easy come, easy go’.
• Saturn is somewhat neutral in this entire time frame. Jupiter will give average results till Apr 2024 but as he enters Taurus he will cause physical stress for 1yr till Apr 2025.

Gemini

• Rahu in the 10th can cause issues in the profession and misunderstandings with the boss. Do not over-reach here, take on only those projects which you can actually do. Changes in the job or transfers are expected. There can be a loss of social status and public image because of this turmoil in the profession. However there is a good possibility of spiritual progress, so do your pujas sincerely.
• Ketu in the 4th will disenchant you from your material life and try to increase your spirituality. You will not feel inclined to interact with the family. Loss of resources ie land or property and health issues are possible. So even if you feel disinterested in the material do pay attention to the things around you. You could be cheated by false friends. Travelling without purpose is possible and if you take loans in this period it might be difficult to pay them back. Your mother may suffer in some way.
• Saturn is generally throughout supportive in your 9th, if you do your pujas. Jupiter is very favourable till Apr 2024 but after that he will give average results.

Cancer

• Rahu in the 9th is not very auspicious. He will increase expenses and you might have to sell your assets. Your elders and family members will also be in stress because of your behaviour. Elderly relatives may pass away. Be careful of the friends you make in this time as they can hurt your reputation in society. Stick to your Kuldevata and your Dharma even if it seems impossible. Do not convert into a religion or cult or dabble in black magic etc. If you are of a marriageable age, avoid marrying someone from a foreign background, it will cause trouble later.
• If Ketu is well placed in your birth chart then he can increase your intelligence,  courage, leadership qualities, etc. There might be some financial gains especially in travel or in trade etc. Your teammates, siblings, etc will cooperate with you. However health, especially skin issues can occur.
• Saturn is in the worse category, ashtama shani throughout. Jupiter is not favourable till Apr 2024 after which he will give very good results for 1yr.

Leo

• Rahu in the 8th will cause at least one medical situation in this time frame. Sudden diseases of the lower abdomen, reproductive system etc are possible. Astral attacks are possible which can result in undiagnosable health issues. But some gains ie legacies, bequests, gifts, shares in ancestral property etc are possible. If Rahu is favourable for your birth chart can give significant unearned, secret or occult gains. Be ready for some fundamental change in your life in this time.
• Ketu in the 2nd will affect your family life, the spouse will be in stress. Arguments with the close family regarding residence, ancestral property, money, resources etc. Try to control your tongue, ie your diet and your speech both.
• Saturn is not favourable throughout, Kantak shani. Jupiter is protecting you till Apr 2024, . But after that for 1yr he will give average results only so best be careful.

Virgo

• Rahu in the 7th will try to ruin your reputation and self-respect. You will face at least one severe setback in this time where you might feel that your world has collapsed around you. Try to identify your genuine well-wishers and at least keep these people with you. Do not argue or hurt others as this will create new enemies. Do not get into extra marital affairs, however tempting they might seem. Your business partners and spouse will be a source of trouble. Your personal spiritual practices will be disturbed leading to typical issues. New partners entering your life in this time will eventually cause disturbance.
• Ketu in the 1st will try to turn you toward the spiritual by giving you several issues in the material life. If you understand this lesson you will be able to manage, else there will be a lot of mental and physical stress. You will become more stubborn, conflicts will increase, financial difficulties are possible. Bouts of depression, loneliness, etc are possible. So find your genuine friends whom you are sure about and stick to them.
• Saturn is favourable for you throughout so he will help to some extent. Jupiter is not favourable till Apr 2024, after which he will give good results till Apr 2025.

Libra

• Rahu in the 6th will support. He will grant you more sources of income, earlier investments will give profits, lost money will be recovered. Your health will recover and you will feel good about things. New and useful people will enter your life, enemies will be silent. A promotion or new job options are also possible. However be cautious and alert as Rahu can twist things at the last minute. Do make the most of this time, try to consolidate the gains. Remember that the things given by Rahu last for as long as the transit is.
• Ketu in the 12th will try to get you to the spiritual path by creating apathy towards the material world. So there will be self-doubts and confusion, a desire to remain in solitude and to contemplate. Do some personal spiritual practice so that the mind/energy is channelised properly. Do not ignore your responsibilities of the material life. This position of Ketu ‘scatters’ your ‘losses’, ie can give significant gains.
• Saturn is average throughout. Jupiter is very favourable till Apr 2024 after which he will not be supportive.

Scorpio

• Rahu in the 5th will cause problems with the children and the spouse. Do not indulge in affairs outside the marriage as this selfish behaviour can lead to separations. Ego will be on a high, so you might hurt others with your high-handed behaviour. Keep an eye on your child’s activities. Intelligence and creativity will be available but Rahu can turn you towards unethical things. Speculations beyond a limit will not give profits, financial losses are likely if you engage in high risk investments. Your past ego-driven actions, if any, will haunt you. Do not engage in negative activities, black magic, etc in this time. Try to keep your mind on your adored deity for support. If you stick to the ‘reasonable’ in everything then this Rahu can give you some gains.
• Ketu in the 11th can give gains in this period but retaining these gains may be difficult. In this time frame all that Ketu stands for in your chart, ie his birth position- house/sign will support you in some way or the other. A few good opportunities will come your way, so be alert enough to use them. But your family, friends and especially older siblings will cause you turmoil or themselves suffer in some way.
• Saturn is not favourable throughout. Jupiter is not favourable till Apr 2024 after which he will be supportive for 1yr.

Sagittarius

• Rahu in the 4th will cause stress in the home. The residence may change or may need expensive repairs etc. Your mother and maternal relatives will cause difficulties in your life or may suffer themselves. Be careful while driving and travelling. Vehicular accidents are possible. Rest will be affected. Your ill-wishers may use underhand means to get to you.
• Ketu if well placed in your birth chart can give you a raise or a promotion. You might not feel very interested in your office and profession but still things will go on with minimal fuss. Try to listen to the other’s point of view in the office, do not be stubborn about things here. Your father may suffer in some way or you might be temporarily separated from your society.
• Saturn is excellent for you throughout. Jupiter is excellent till Apr 2024 after which he is average till Apr 2025.

Capricorn

• Rahu in your 3rd is quite favourable for you and will increase your courage and capacity to take bold decisions. Financial situation will improve. Teammates, siblings, extended family will support you and you will be successful. Investments and trading will be profitable. However as always use your common sense before acting. Make the most of this time as the opportunities given by Rahu have a small window and the success generally does not last beyond the transit.
• Ketu is not favourable for material life. He will pull your towards the spiritual and try to detach you from the material. If you can understand this intellectually then you will be able to cope else there will be issues. Avoid speculation and high risk investments. Legal issues are possible. Do not lie or engage in adharmic activities. Elders of the family may fall ill or need your attention in some way. If you are of marriageable age then there are chances of an arranged marriage in this time.
• Saturn is average to bad throughout, Sade sati will show its effect. Jupiter is average till Apr 2024, but after that till Apr 2025 he will give excellent results. Rahu is favourable so this one year till Apr 2024 can give some long awaited positivity.

Aquarius –

• Rahu in the 2nd will increase your expenses on unnecessary stuff so control your impulses. Be careful of what you eat, avoid intoxicants and addictive substances. Keep a control over your speech. Your family members and your ancestral properties will be a source of stress so be alert. Do not cheat your family members in this time.
• Ketu can grant occult, secret or unearned gains if he is favourable in your birth chart. But he will create vague fears in your mind, so try to control your thoughts. Strange issues will crop up which will require you to think differently in order to resolve them. You might be forced to sell your assets/properties in this time. If you resort to black magic or cause harm to others then it will result in severe negative karma for you. Some medical issues with the reproductive organs or accidents or minor surgeries are possible. Your spouse and in-law can give you some support.
• Saturn Sade sati middle phase is on so will cause stress. Jupiter is not favourable till Apr 2024 and after that for 1yr he will give mixed results. You have to do mantra/ daana to ensure some positivity.

Pisces –

• Rahu will create strange issues in your life and you will have to think outside the box to resolve these. If you let Rahu’s illusions enter your mind then you will suffer on the emotional and physical levels too. There will be increased susceptibility to astral attacks, evil eye, black magic etc. It can become a testing time for you so be alert. But if Rahu is auspicious for you then he will create unexpected opportunities on several levels. Use your common sense and act on those which are ethical and morally correct.
• Ketu will create disinterest in the marriage, or separation from the spouse or you may ‘fall in love’ with someone highly unsuitable. Physical intimacy will be less attractive. The mind will be restless and depressed. Avoid taking loans or big favours from others in this time as this will cause long terms issues. Do your pujas sincerely and engage in Dharmic activities, else there is a possibility of depression, desperation and stress.
• Saturn Sade sati first phase is on, so he will give stress from time to time. Jupiter is favourable till Apr 2024 so use this time to consolidate as after that he will not be able to support you much. Interestingly for you Jupiter in Taurus will act as a vipreet vedh for Saturn in Aquarius so the Sade sati turbulence will reduce. Do your pujas / mantra /daana regularly.

Transits of major karmic forces, especially Rahu Ketu and also Saturn suddenly require everyone to mature and take responsibility. Sudden changes are going to happen in all our lives and we all will have to decide how we deal with these situations. Sometimes these changes are pleasant and we are happy. But sometimes you need to take harsh decisions, but these too can be taken gracefully. (A line from a very old Hindi song, वो अफ़साना जिसे अंजाम तक लाना ना हो मुमकिन, उसे एक खूबसूरत मोड़ देकर छोड़ना अच्छा, If a story cannot be taken to its logical conclusion, then it is better to change it in a beautiful way and leave it there.)

Remedies, as per Maharshi Parashar, are Mantra and Daana. I have written several posts on these. But the best remedy by far, is your daily pujas. You have to follow a daily routine sincerely. Give yourself these 5mins in the morning and in the evening as this schedule serves as a strong anchor for your life. With time, as you do this your daily pujas, you strengthen your intelligence/ Buddhi which does not allow the mind/ Manas to get overly attached to anything. You are able to move with the flow of experience, you enjoy its endless beauty yet somehow you remain outside it, internally remain unaffected by it (you become tatasth तटस्थ and talleen तल्लीन). You remain unaffected by Rahu’s illusions and are also able to manage Ketu’s apathy. So try to find this balance between these two nodes. This behavioural change is highly desirable and is the ultimate remedy for all the issues in life.
