Sanatan Dharma is neither a philosophy, nor a theology, nor a religion and certainly not atheism. The nearest English word which can describe it is ‘metaphysics’. Sanatan Dharma is directly derived from the universal, eternal, non dual Soul, the Paramatma. We, Hindus, acknowledge, neither the absence of divinity, nor the presence of a specific divinity, nor do we accept a limited personal god, nor do we ascribe to concepts. We acknowledge only the Paramatma, ie the Reality. We focus on the Subject. If you can understand this paragraph, you are eligible for Moksh.
Jyotish has the 2 luminous graha, Sun and Moon, 5 non-luminous Tara graha and two Chhaya graha Rahu and Ketu. All these graha are located in your own chakra system. For normal humans Rahu and Ketu are the cryptic forces which distort their energy but when the aspirant becomes eligible for Moksh, they take their proper places Rahu at the Ajnya chakra and Ketu at the Sahasrar chakra. Thus analysing Rahu and Ketu is necessary to evaluate the spiritual potential of a horoscope.

Have you really noticed the movements of the nakshatra chakra/ bhaachakra, the Sun/ Moon, the Tara graha and the Chhaya graha? Seen how their forward and retrograde movements control the release of pending karma and creation of new karma? If you can visualise their movements in the skies, it gives a very grand perspective of life, time and karma.
Around eclipses, Rahu and Ketu become stationary and move forwards. Such charts, depending on other yogs, have the potential to achieve release from this relentless cycle of birth and death. The focus is more on completing pending karmic and avoiding creating new karma. (Always use the true Rahu Ketu values and not the mean values. As per the reference books, the horoscope is to be cast using the actual positions of the planets at that moment of birth.)
Rahu and Ketu are polarities, two opposing perspectives of the same experience, Rahu is interested, he ardently desires even more but Ketu instinctively knows that it is an illusion and remains disinterested. That is why they are located 180deg away from, ie opposite, each other. They can never be together in same house/sign the Lagna chart, ie the divisional chart 1. But in the higher DC you will see that sometimes they do occupy the same house/rashi ie are united together. This happens when the degrees at which they are located are allotted to the amsha of the same rashi. (Divisional charts can be calculated only if the birth time is accurate.)
In charts of people who are spiritually evolved or learned or highly successful ie who are distinct in some way or the other, will have several divisional charts with Rahu Ketu allotted to the same sign. If you see 5 or more of the 16 divisional charts with Rahu Ket union then the person is truly extraordinary. Especially if these charts are the D 4 D 20 D 24 D 27 D 40 D 45, then the person can even be a genuine Guru, which is the highest possible achievement possible in this lifetime.
In case you have Rahu Ketu together in any divisional chart then you are better able to manage the ‘opposites’ connected to that part of your life. You are able to better perceive the ‘whole’ here and any actions or decisions you take here will be balanced. You are neither excessively attracted nor excessively disinterested in these parts of your life. You can excel here and activities here have the potential to elevate your consciousness.
If you have any DC with a Rahu – Ketu union, then you should consciously focus more on these aspects of life.

Every divisional chart has a material component and a spiritual component. Briefly, the spiritual components are,
- Divisional Charts in Shad varga
- D 1 – sthool sharir and the quantum of prarabdha karma active for your lifetime.
- D 2 – power of the Ida and Pingala nadis and your ability to use it consciously.
- D 3 – possibilities of your creating Agami karma in this life time
- D 9 – power of your subtle body/ the sookshma sharir.
- D 12 – your understanding of ‘Aham’, the ability to follow Dharma as per the lineage.
- D 30 – curses, evils, weaknesses, calamities which are not in your active control and often there is no option but to endure through these.
- Additional Divisional charts for Saptavarga
- D 7 – Mantra practice and the possibility of your gaining siddhi over them.
- Additional Divisional charts for Dashavarga
- D 10 – your active efforts taken to discharge pending karma.
- D 16 – understanding of what the Devi/ Prakruti /Idam really represents.
- D 60 – this is your summary ie the causal body/ the karan sharir.
- Additional Divisional charts for Shodashvarga
- D 4 – possibility of entering Turiya state and moving towards Moksh
- D 20 – Guru, upasana, deity, shraddha/faith, spiritual progress, etc.
- D 24 – search and attainment of knowledge, siddhis, Vidya.
- D 27 – challenges in your spiritual path and your intelligence in overcoming these.
- D 40 – the inclination in choosing and following auspicious / inauspicious pathways.
- D 45 – the states of existence, waking, dream, deep sleep and your conscious control over them.
(I have several spectacular charts in my collection which have 5+ DC with a Rahu-Ketu union. However, I do not use charts of living persons for public analysis, so I have not put up any sample charts here.)
