Four Pillars of Real Learning: Vedic Wisdom

Today’s education system is inherently flawed. Our children do study sincerely but they do not  really understand anything. Our young men and women study for 3-4 yrs in professional courses and yet miserably fail when it comes to real life.

Because true knowledge can never come from one single source. There are 4 sources of knowledge and you gain 25% from each of these. All 4 are equally important. And this is the very practical and wisdom from the Vedas. The Vedic dharma is the most natural and logical way of living life.

The first source of education is obviously the school, the college. It is whatever your teachers teach you in your classrooms. All your school work, college work, is only 25% of the knowledge you earn in life. These teachers are older, wiser and senior to you. Eg you learn to become a Doctor, but the course and the teachers account for only 25% of your real Doctor knowledge.

The second source of knowledge is, can you guess, the company around you ie. the people who accompany you like your friends, colleagues etc. You get another 25% of your total knowledge from these people. You learn from other people at the same knowledge level as you. This knowledge is shared through group discussions, debates and group study as a collective.

An illustration featuring the word 'mind' surrounded by various related terms such as 'emotion,' 'perception,' 'cognitive,' and 'attention,' showcasing aspects of understanding and learning.

Then the third 25% of your knowledge is through self study. You have to read the books make your own notes. You have to think over what you have been taught in school, what you have discussed with your colleagues and what you have read in the library. Unless you give some time for this you cannot grasp the details of your chosen subject.

And the fourth source and last source of knowledge, which gives you that perfection, is your real life experiences. You get this final 25% with time. If you are an architect, this is what you gain in your years of practicing architecture. This finishing touch is whatever you have experienced in your life as an architect. These experiences give you that depth in the subject and also the confidence. Time also gives your knowledge that ethical, moral, Dharmic. And this can be a life long study. Eg I and my Dad are both Jyotishi, but my relatives will always prefer to ask my Dad, he has been practicing for more years than I have been alive. It is finally Time, who teaches you the subtlest things about the topic of the experience .

All these four sources of knowledge are equally important. If you miss out on even one of these four, your knowledge is incomplete.

This scheme of education is as per Vedic Dharma. And this is why our Maharishis and Acharyas were able to discover all possible wisdom. They have complied this wisdom in the Vedas. Wisdom connected to our material life, our pranic life, our emotional life, our intellectual life and finally the eternal Life. The Vedas were ‘discovered’, ‘heard’ by our ancestors only because they had this all round knowledge and in depth wisdom.

So whatever subject you choose to learn, make sure that you do it thoroughly, using all these 4 sources of knowledge. (YouTube video link here.)

I am a high school “substitute teacher”. I try to bring the classes I go to something different. I show the planets on my astronomy app, I bring them a little grinder so they can “grind my coffee” — something hands on, as city kids never see how their food is prepared. I give out cards with quotes from the masters.
You inspired me and I will start to do little mindfulness lessons with them too. (Mindfulness is a term that can encompass meditation but with a more neutral, non-religious sound to it.)

      Hi there
good teachers who take a genuine interest in their student’s all round development are rare now..
its good to know that you are are doing this very important character building for your students..

vedic dharma is actually worship of mother nature, literally ‘prakruti’. we call her Devi because She is the Light Herself. so Devi Prakruti.
our ‘gods’ Dev Devi /Light are the space sun moon stars sky wind water fire earth etc – these concepts are too abstract for normal minds, so they were given human forms, but in fact Vedic Dev Devi are not human forms, they are actual nature.. the basic mantra is Om, which now physics has found to be ‘scientific’..

the easiest method is that the children spend as much time in natural environments

    Hi mam,
An astrologer recently suggested me a remedy for stree shapa dosha to light a diya made of 9 black peppercorns, with a cotton wick in white cloth, placed inside a coconut shell, during Rahu Kaal on Fridays.

I wanted to ask if this remedy has any authentic or scriptural basis or if it’s more of a modern interpretation. Please guide me on whether this practice is truly traditional and beneficial.

    Namaste Ma’am…
Why Shouldn’t our Vedic society brought Community Level Book..
We only have purely Spiritual(Jnana kanda) Level and ritualistic(Worship) Level books..
    But..We dont have 3rd Version..like other religions..
Which is Social level book which unites us as Community..
    I think in this Kaliyuga..
    “Shatru bhoda” unites people..
We dont have neither “Swayam Bhoda”..
    Nor Shatru bhodha..

    1. Tejaswini Avatar

      Hi there
what do you mean by “community level books”?
various Gurus have written books in the various languages. it depends on which language you can read / understand.

eg – i can speak and understand Hindi Gujarati Konkani etc 5-6 languages enough to watch movies and for basic communication,
but actually i can really comprehend/fully understand only Marathi and Sanskrit.
similarly for everyone in the nation.

which language will you have your ‘community book’?

even the Itihas – Ramayan Mahabharat – which are the actual ‘community books’ are poisoned by sectarian writers.
the ‘uttarramayan’ and the ‘harivamsha’ are later additions..

this may be a shock to most of us, but in the Mahabharat, Shri Krishna first enters the scene in Draupadi svayamwar and he always lives in Dwarka..

anyways – given the emotional condition of most ‘hindus’ today, i dont feel like writing on these real topics.

and since we got labelled ‘Hindu’ 2500yrs ago, we have lost our Sanskrit and are now completely lost.
we have forgotten that our real name is Vedic.
we follow Vedic Dharma. we follow the Vedas.
if every ‘hindu’ consciously says aloud that he/she is a Vedic, follower of the Vedas, of the Vedic Dharma, worships the Vedic Devatas..
      repeats the word Ved.Ved.. Ved..
even that much will drag his/ her consciousness level upwards..

we are scared to take the name of our real book, our real gods our real Gurus..

i have only one recommendation – worship Devi Kali –
call her by her name ‘Kali’ not Bhawani, not Durga not anything else – look at her as she is portrayed, wearing severed skulls etc..
      She is the highest energy..
if you dare to take her name, – Kali, Kalika, Mahakali, DakshinKali, ShmashanKali, UgraKali, KanakaKali, ChandaKali, GhoraKali, … call her ‘Kali’.
and she has 12 secret names.. if you know these then take these names in the sequence..
She is the only one who can pull Bharat out of the trouble we are in..

        Yes..Ma’am..🙏
Mother Kali is my Favourite divine Aspect..
And..I feels Krishna & Kali both one and Same..🙏🙏
Thats why Bhagwan Krishna tried to wipe out Asuras and wants War rather than compromise..
He himself came to seperate&create war between Amshas of Suras and Asuras in Kings..

But..What i felt is in this time..
Both Suras and Asura Amshas entered into Public..
Like in treta yuga both are born as seperate beigns..
In dwapar yuga entered into Kings..
        Now..its further deepend..
        Its People Fight..
And Asuras started their work by creating Concept of Religions..which is directly linked to public..

Developed & Perfected Eventually from Persian religions to Islam..
Same story Happenning like i study in Puranas..
        Worshipping one God..
        Obey their teacher(Shukrachary)..
        Holyday as Friday..
Nothing about Moksha..but end goal is to conquire Earth&Heavens..
Follow their rituals in Desert temple..
        But destroy all others rituals..

I felt its clearly Nearing to Deva Asura Fight..through people becoz of their religions..
But..We dont have clear guidance book to guide in simple & clear way..
        Swayam bhodha and Shatru bhodha..
        Who are We..?
        Who are the outsiders..?

      2. Tejaswini Avatar

        Hi there
the Gods are always speaking to us in several ways..

eg – the recent movie Kantara 1- one group of people tries to bind the Gods. one group tries to worship the Gods.
those who try to bind are always the ‘outsiders’ – they are against cosmic order – Rta Satya Dharma ….
those who worship and trust the Gods are the ‘insiders’, but here if you say you follow the Dev Devi and yet are scared to really follow, ie your words dont match your actions then too you are an ‘outsider’..

it started going downhill when people started wrongly interpreting the Vedas for their personal gain, started misusing mantra to bind the Devata, started putting down the Vedic devata for their sectarian beliefs.. both Persians and Bharatiya did this.
fortunately for Bharat, the land itself has power so we were not completely destroyed like our Persian cousins were destroyed.
plus they did one very huge paap-karma, for which they paid the price.
we did several paap-karma too and we are also paying the price.
if you have the perspective to understand history then you will know what i am saying here.. but i will not write more on this.

all gods are the same. but some are more capable of showing you your face.

you still do not have the courage to say her name “Kali” on her own, if you still need “Krishna” to help you cope with her energy.

Krishna is also ‘black’ but ‘Kali’ has a different power which cannot be matched by any other name.
ultimately everyone has to come to ‘Kali’, whenever they are ready.

We have very Clear and complete Dharma..but imformation scattered in varous books..
And..our priests dont teach&train people regularly..
For paramartha we have to attain paramatma…
But..For Vyavahara we need to fight on social level..
Hindu is one who tries to attain Ishwar..and Worships Devatas..
        tries to attain Moksha..
        And believes Karma&Reincarnation..
Our Gurus gets that birth becoz of many past life merits & struggles..

But..We dont fight with who dont believe Rebirth..?
Without Rebirth&purva punya How can their prophets gets chance of prophet birth..? gets special benefits&sure heaven entry..?
All souls are not equal to God?
Isn’t it nothing but insulting God as unjust&cruel..?

Why dont we teach our children clearly..in temples…
        Whoever dont believe Ishwar..Jiva..
        Moksha..Punarjanma..etc..as outsiders..?
And..why dont we try to push war over our complete&logical Dharmik Siddantas and weakens others fake religions reverting others and take back our lands..?

        Hi there
information will always be scattered, you understand the value of what you have only when you have to struggle to find it.

i have worked very hard, extremely hard to reach this level of understanding.
and now when i look back at the first books i read, i realise that i had read it all a long time ago, just did not understand it, now that i understand it, everythign around me is giving me that same information.
but because of the journey, i know what it is, how common and yet how precious it is and so i will never misuse it.

you have to follow karmakaand, upasanakaand, jnyankaand, there is no other way.

there is nothing called a ‘hindu’, it is always Vedic Vedas Vedic dharma.

i always write individual soul, jivatma – and all jivatma are not equal. each is differentiated by the load of karma it carries. you and i are not equal on the vyavharik level.
the paramatma, universal eternal soul, that is non-dual. at this level there is no duality. Parmarthik level.

i have no opinion on the nastik sampradays. they are extremely illogical. they do not have access to the vijnyan/ vijnyanmaykosh. they are stuck in manomayakosh.

there are several reasons, but the most important reason is that we are not worshipping the Dev /Devi by their real names. We are not following vedic dharma at this point of time and that is why we are suffering.
Knowing whom is most beneficial for us humans?
Who is the embodiment of the Cosmic order?

can you answer these questions? with proper references?
can any ‘priests’ or even ‘modern Gurus’ answer these questions?

      Hi there
It is not Indra or Brahma Vishnu Rudra or Rama Krishna or any Dev Devi.
They are all just steps in the scheme of things.
The central role always belongs to us humans.
What do we want? What is the Sankalpa? What are we doing to achieve our intention?
The Devatas can only give us what we want them to give.

We do not practice Vedic dharma.
We do not read our books.

In this blog i always write that read the Ramayan Mahabharat.
      Have you read the books?
      That is the first step.
Just crying that things are going bad is not going to work.
Read the original books, spread their message.
Emotions have to be converted into Intelligence.

        Dear Tejaswinimam,

Many thanks for the detailed explanations you have provided here. Would love to understand more about our history, i think this is what is going to sail us through in the chaos of today. Please write more on veds, vedic deities and how we can reestablish them after 2035. OR , are many of us – including the young – doomed by 2050 and the subcontinet will be depopulated to start afresh?

Are 12 secret names of kaali – Adya Kali, Shmashankaali, Tarakali, Matangi kaali, Doomavati kaali etc? But are they not Mahavidyas?

Further, does Rta ie cosmic order you mentioned above comes under Varun devta? I had requested you to please teach us more about him ..please. Or any authentic mantra about him??

Also whenever it is cloudy, rainy or pouring or whenever I stand near on the seashore (chennai and mumbai) especially full moon full tide at night….my heart fills with inexplicable sorrow, a sense of loss, fear of loss, premonition of unknown future event and at the same time – awe, hypnotised expanse, surrender, admiration. It is a feeling i could not explain when i was a kid and till now, till i read your last few posts i did no know about this energy. But oh…why sorrow and tearful feelings? Does this have any connection with my past birth? How can i remedy this… please guide…

        Gratitude and best regards

        Hi there

history – it is all there in bits and pieces but you have to think for yourself

eg people claim that mahabharat war some 4000 odd years ago.
they take the so called ‘harivamsha’ as a authoritarian text.
it is not a part of the mahabharat. vedvyas did not write it.
are the people today prepared to really read that Shri Krishna was a regular human, he was an Avtar, that is true but he did not perform miracles! the entire childhooh, gokul, etc story is just a story!

no one wants to read sanskrit. no one wants to read the real books written by actual Kavi!

then people claim that the ramayan war happened some 6000 odd yrs ago. this figure is also utterly and spectacularly wrong.
the evidence is right before your eyes, read the book in sanskrit.

        but no, no one will.
and that is why we endlessly debate..

veds are written in vedic sanskrit.
unless you know the language, the book is of no use to you.
there is no point in writing on anything to do with the vedas unless a significant population learns sanskrit. at least classical sanskrit? vedic sanskrit is too much to expect now, but at least every follower of vedic dharma must learn classical sanskrit.

no, these are not the 12 names.

Rta is enforced by Varun, he punishes if you do not follow Rta.
but all the other Vedic Devtas also enforce it.
        Rta = Satya = Parabrahma

do something to support your Moon, i have written a lot on this.

I think you mentioned in a blog post or comment that our household Murthy of deity should be max thumb size. If we have been doing Poojas of a Murthy bigger than this, should we now stop and bring a different Murthy home?

Could you also clarify what is the right way to dispose off Pooja samagri and pictures, etc. we make temporary on paper for vrats like Karvachauth Mata?

From your blogs, it appeared to me that we should keep our sankalp strong and try to practice whatever best we can in order to grow spiritually. At the same time, some of your other blogs mention how deities can get angry and punish us if we don’t do things as per procedure.

This is obviously a contradiction to my mind as it’s not trained but would be grateful if you could direct me in the right direction.

Is procedure important only when we are asking for material things? If we are asking for mental clarity and removing ignorance then shortfall or mistakes don’t cause fall?

    Thanks

    1. Tejaswini Avatar

      Hi there
regular daily pujas should be as easy as possible.
depending on your daily life schedule, you can take some ‘short-cuts’ here .

but if you are doing some typical mantras, or high energy anushthans – then you should do everything properly.
here the Devata may not approve of any ‘short-cuts’.

      for your Kuldevata pujas,
if your ancestors have promised something to the Devata you cannot skip it.

and its best to apologise to the Devata for any mistakes you may have done, knowingly/unknowingly

    Namaste Ma’am

Great video today!(#111) Glad you brought up this topic (again), as I had some queries regarding this.

This year I mindfully spotted Venus and Jupiter many times. And also the Moon on Kojagori Purnima was so bright!

    The queries:

    1. Is it ever possible to spot Mercury in the skies?

    2. Are Amavasya nights the best time for spotting graha? My logic is that, since Moon is not in the spotlight unlike other days, so the others may be ‘more visible’?

    3. Is a graha comparatively seen more brighter when it is 7th to the sun (when in transit), or is the visibility more or less same throughout the year?

    4. I have observed that the 1st house is very large in size, whereas the 12th, 11th and 10th become gradually smaller. This is the unequal houses concept right? e.g. Around 15 degrees of the 1st house was appearing to be equal to around 30 degrees of the 10th house!

    Thank you very much Ma’am.
