Saturn in Uttarabhadrapada Nakshatra: Predictions

Saturn is the slowest moving force of Jyotish and he stays in one rashi / sign for about 2.5yrs. And he stays in one Nakshatra / lunar mansion for about 13 months. Thus we analyse have to use Saturn’s nakshatra level transits for more precise predictions for about a 1yr time frame. For more precise readings we use Saturn’s movement through every pad/ quarter of the nakshatra. (Youtube Video link here)

Saturn is currently in Poorvabhadrapada and my predictions on his transit post here. Now Saturn will enter Uttarabhadrapada on 28th April 2025.

  • Phase 1 – 28th April 2025 to 3rd October 2025.
  • Phase 2 – 20th Jan 2026 to 17th May 2026.
  • Phase 3 – 9th Oct 2026 and finally exit this lunar mansion on 8th Feb 2027.

Uttarabhadrapada is linked to Saturn himself. It lies completely in the Pisces sign, Meen rashi so is also influenced by Jupiter. The Nakshatra symbol is the “two back legs of the funeral stretcher”. It can also mean the “latter two auspicious steps”. It is a positive and auspicious nakshatra ruled by the Nakshatra Devata Ahirbudhnya. In Sanskrit, ‘Ahirbudhnya’ literally means the “Wise Snake who lives at the bottom of the Infinite Cosmic Oceans”. He represents the original Creator of the Universe, who after creating ‘supports’ Creation by acting as its foundation. Ahirbudhnya is generally benevolent but sometimes he does show his destructive face.

A detailed view of Saturn, showcasing its iconic rings and atmospheric colors against the backdrop of space.

The keywords for Uttarabhadrapada nakshatra are sleep state, dream state, death, unconscious states, subconscious mind, wisdom, esoteric knowledge, deep wisdom, secret information, adaptability, long term plans, flexibility, fixed goals, determination and secrecy on so many levels. Uttarabhadrapada is very difficult to understand as it is an extremely adaptable nakshatra and it has a typical innate cunning. It can gauge the situation and if needed change sides in a blink. It is very flexible when it comes to means, but its goals are fixed. It is very difficult to make a Uttarabhadrapada change its mind once it has decided something. It is a dangerous nakshatra in the sense that it will pretend to agree with you but later it will do exactly what it has decided to do. It is a very determined nakshatra and does not allow anyone to interfere with its plans and it can go to any extremes in this.

However Uttarabhadrapada is not as destructive or cruel like Poorvabhadrapada, its long term goals are helpful for the overall humanity. But as a part of its long term plans, it does not hesitate to take destructive actions.

So Saturn in Uttarabhadrapada will use the power of destruction in a constructive manner. He will destroy some things so that the things which need to be preserved are conserved. Phase 1 where Saturn is highly influenced by Rahu will be especially destructive. Phase 2 will also be turbulent. Only in Phase 3 can Saturn use the more constructive aspects of this nakshatra to some extent.

Overall this will be a turbulent time for most of us. Saturn in Uttarabhadrapada can give two completely different results depending on if he is auspicious for you or not.

So generally for everyone. There will be a lack of stability and circumstances will change suddenly. But people will suddenly become very conservative and refuse to take even calculated risks. People will be unable to decide what they want in life. Inability to adapt to changing circumstances, or living in the past is never a good thing. Thus some of us will fail to act and capitalise on good opportunities.

Then everyone will feel lazy and lethargic. There will be less desire to learn new and interesting things or to expand the intellect. Overall restlessness will increase, people will have unreasonable expectations from others and yet not deliver on their promises. So trusting others is not a good idea in this time. Be careful of any advice you get as everyone is going to be selfish and calculative. People will pretend to be helpful but instead encourage you to act in a way which causes you losses but gives them gain.

Then on the medical front this transit can trigger pitta ‘fire’ related diseases. Illnesses related to digestive system, nervous systems and blood are possible in this time. Obesity will increase and diseases linked to lifestyle will also increase. (Life style diseases are preventable, so do use your common sense in this matter.) Mental issues like depression, rage etc will see a rise. If you suffer from medical or psychological issues do consult an appropriate medical professional in time.

And most important – pay attention to your children. There is a strong possibility that they may suffer because of your negative karma. Try to do some pujas for the Pitrudevata and Kuldevata, for positive energy for your children. This is very important, take care of your children.

Then the overall environment will be hotter than average. There will be rains, but they will not be useful for agriculture etc. More water related natural disasters are possible. There will be also increased movements within the earth, earthquakes and volcanoes can show more activity while Saturn is in Uttarabhadrapada. And people connected to water or water bodies in some way should be prepared for the more intense effects.

In this time, all sorts of religious leaders, across religions, will twist and use their religious ‘philosophies’ for their personal gains. We are already reading about the horrors in the name of ‘religion’ across the nations, from USA, to Europe to India, every nation is tired of the ‘religions’. Be very careful of the ‘religion’ tag in this time of Saturn in Uttarabhadrapada.

Hinduism or Vedic Dharma or Sanatan Dharma is not a ‘religion’, it is Dharma, foundation, metaphysics, the Self. However several ‘sects’ will also try to use these concepts also for petty gains.

On the global levels, this transit is generally bad. But especially so for the ‘Western world’, both USA and Europe will see turbulence. South East Asia will have some simmering issues but they will have the political acumen to handle their problems. Africa too will not be very stable, as they fight to push off the colonial rule and gain real independence. The Russia Ukraine war will continue, in fact all the ongoing wars will continue and new ones will also start.

For India, there are some plus and minus, but compared to what is going to happen in the rest of the world, we are still going to be on a manageable level. But things will not be easy, be ready for unpleasantness and turmoil on several fronts. Do watch/read my detailed video/post on the New Hindu year predictions here. For our neighbours, Pakistan and Bangladesh will see political issues which will escalate if not handled carefully. Serious issues for both these neighbours will also spill over on our boundaries. Then Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Afghanistan will also see several problems, but these nations should be able to manage somehow, if their leaders take the right decisions. Not good but yet manageable. Bhutan will be relatively stable, it will get closer to India. And China will net benefit this transit, it has been working on a lot of secret projects and these will give it leverage in global politics.

Now on the deeper level, lets see the Nakshatra quarter level transits. You will have to refer the Panchangam for these as Saturn will stay in one quarter for about a month at a time, as he is going forwards/ retrograde.

Uttarabhadrapada Nakshatra has 4 quarters / pad which respectively belong to the Leo, Virgo, Libra and Scorpio signs.

  1. Saturn transiting in the 1st quarter of Uttarabhadrapada can create political issues. Everyone will be very active, very much aware of their rights and entitlements. This time can see increased political activity on the global levels as ego of the political leaders generally creates a mess.
  2. Saturn transiting in the 2nd quarter of Uttarabhadrapada can create problems related to the very structure of the financial markets. Expect public uprisings against the governments in some parts of the world.
  3. Saturn transiting in the 3rd quarter of Uttarabhadrapada can grant some levels of stability, so make use of this time constructively.
  4. But Saturn transiting in the 4th quarter of Uttarabhadrapada can create several problems depending on which house of the chart it lies in. This will be the most turbulent period. This quarter belongs to Scorpio ruled by Mars, and Saturn never functions well when he is with Mars’s energy in any form whatsoever. This time will open up the really dark and dangerous levels of the human psyche. People will go to any extremes and things will be intense. Most people will be confused, misguided by their passions. Rare few will get Siddhis, true wisdom and Realisation of Freedom/ Moksh.
A decorative astrological clock featuring golden zodiac symbols, including a lion and a crab, along with celestial imagery and an ornate dragon design.

Then for the rare few, if Saturn in Uttarabhadrapada is favourable for you then you will adapt yourself as per the needs of the situation. You will see things in the proper perspective, understand what is really going on and act in the most appropriate manner. If you have some positive karma active then you will have access to true knowledge and will put this information into practical use. You will get spiritual and material benefits as a fruit of the positive karmic actions of your past lives.

And for the for the rarest of us, if your birth horoscope has significant spiritual potential and Saturn is favourable then you will be required to take up some actions by the direction of your Guru or your adored deity/ Devata. And these actions will benefit overall humanity. And Saturn in Uttarabhadrapada will grant you expansion and you will be able to cross all limits and boundaries in the positive sense.

But for the general 99% of us this time is not favourable and everyone must be ready to follow the Bhagwat Gita in the real sense. Shri Krishna Bhagwan was the charioteer but it was Maharathi Arjun who raised his Gandiva and fought the war. Similarly the Bhagwan is with us, he is our guide, no doubt about that, but we have to raise our own weapons and fight our own battles.

So in this time of Saturn in Uttarabhadrapada, read the Bhagwat Gita, read the Dharma which Shri Krishna taught. Feel his divine presence in your heart. But always remember his last line, the summary –

इति ते ज्ञानमाख्यातं गुह्याद्गुह्यतरं मया। विमृश्यैतदशेषेण यथेच्छसि तथा कुरु।।18.63 –
Thus I have completely described the most secret, most complete, most deep True Knowledge /Wisdom /Dharma to you. Now deliberate deeply on this and then act as you wish.

The Gods give us the knowledge, but then we are required to think deeply, and then choose to act as we wish to, the choice of action is always our own.

Dr. Tejaswini Arvind Patil.

    Ma’am,

How to know if saturn in uttarbhadrapada is favourable or not??
If birth moon is in uttarbhadrapada, saturn is yogakaraka for lagna or uttarbhadrapada sign in horoscooe has jupiter aspect.

      Hi there
see what Saturn means to you as per your chart. eg kashta-phal, shad bala etc. check his power in the ashtakvarga score of pisces for you.

then check the nakshtra level transits, with the kota chakra or the janma navtara chakra. i have written on this, do use the index.

aspects of horoscope level benefics or the saumya graha are always helpful.

hi, what is effect of saturn in scorpio 6th house?

    1. Tejaswini Avatar

      Hi there
generally saturn works well in the 6th house by constricting its more turbulent aspects.

gemini asc. saturn as 8th and 9th lord in the 6th
as 8th lord in the 6th he is good, its a type of vipreet raj yog.
but as 9th lord in the 6th you have to be more mindful of your kuldevata pujas, pitru tarpans etc. dont ignore these things in life.

but saturn in scorpio sign is influenced by Mars energy, which can be problematic.

thank you so much, in what ways can saturn in scorpio 6th house be problematic?

      2. Tejaswini Avatar

        Hi there
if saturn is your lagnesh/yogesh then in 6th he is not good.
        otherwise, generally it is ok

but in scorpio is not a good energy

      Hi there
generally, do pujas of your Kuldevta, and Pitrutarpan regularly (if both parents are there then not needed. only after 1 parent or parent-in-law passes away). read some book by a Atmajnyani regularly, just one page? eg Bhagwat Gita, Devi mahatmya or any other book in your language.

i have written some posts on Saturn influenced by Mars. maybe some of that information can be useful.

otherwise it is fine. you can get some good gains in this time if you keep your eyes open. be prepared to work hard though, but you wll get gains.

    Hello,
Thank you so much for your priceless information and guidance. Feel so blessed to read your insights. I have learned so much from you and it has meaningfully shaped my spiritual journey so far.

I wanted to request, if possible for you, to write in details about the nakshatras. Your writing style is commendable and brings instant clarity to my mind ( and i am sure many others too ). For example- In this very article you started writing by calling Saturn a ‘slowest moving force of jyotish’ – just this one phrase opened up a totally new view of seeing the planet, as a force- else our brains are stuck with the khichdi of mainstream astrology, science and personal opinions haha.

To me, this goes to show a long time (perhaps many lifetimes) of sadhna and study condensed into one blog post which is commendable. I would love to learn more deeply about Nakshatras from your point of view. Thank you so much for lighting the path.

PS- I wanted to mention, that your predictions are coming true about Rahu Saturn exact conjunction- you did mention ‘terrorist attacks’ in the video and here we are.

    1. Tejaswini Avatar

      Hi there
a Jyotishi cannot write everything that he knows. we are not allowed.
biggest example is Sahadev. he was not allowed to speak out his predictions on the Mahabharat war. he was an expert Jyotishi. he knew everything but could not stop, could not even warn, his own sons, nephews..

still i am trying to write some small things as a warning.
but even this tiny information is scaring several people and i am getting msgs on the blog/ vlog that i am ‘unnecessarily painting a very pessimistic picture’.
i hope my predictions are wrong but the future is in the hands of Devi Mahakali and Bhagwan Mahakaal.

i always recommend that everyone do Shri Sukta as much as you can for personal/ national /global prosperity .

but now – things have changed. so
      1. Get your local temple to do Chandi Homa using the Devi Mahatmya, every day if possible or at least on every Ashtami and Amavasya. If every temple, small and big does this as a routine several turbulent things will not happen or at least happen in a less damaging way.
      2. on the personal level, everyone should recite the Saptashloki – 7 verses just 2 mins daily.
and the intention is – for destruction of Adharma and for defense/protection/increase of Dharma in your personal/national /global levels.

our brave warriors are on the battleground sacrificing their lives for us and we civilians need to provide them at least the intention energy.

      About the Nakshatras, –
i have written about them here and there in the posts on saturn’s nakshatra transits and in the eclipse posts .
there is one post on Abhijit and information on him is not there anywhere on the internet except on my blog.
i had once thought of writing on each one of them and their quarters but then, 27 of them, and time is always a constraint.

      1. Arjun Jain Avatar

        Hi,
Thank you for responding. You may find it interesting, but I initially also had a similar perception about your writing style and thought it was a bit extreme. Got so much scorpio vibes, but eventually i understood that this is the ‘neutralization of the extremes’. For you, the extremes of birth and death are on an even plane. Only such a person can write and use extreme words with much simplicity. That’s what makes one a Guru, in the correct sense- one who is free from fear.

Also, One thing about the ego is that the moment somebody comments or shows a new picture that is not ego-systonic, based on sugar coated cushions and candies that people are so used to in bright colored branding and advertising, you can expect a shakeup and instant defensive reaction from them.

Our world needs more psychological awareness and tools on a practical level to bear such blows. when somebody reads a prediction that is negative- it would suddenly trigger an existential crises and fear of losing everything – which only exposes their material attachments. These predictions are a direct threat to the survival of their ego, because if ANY of this comes true, they will need to go through a cycle of personal+collective transformation and that isn’t easy or liked by anyone.

So these predictions are an EXCELLENT source of growing spiritually and strengthening ourselves in my opinion. It helps us Be Present in reality and not in the outdated emotional blankets. Change will keep coming and a jyotishi is simply a medium to decode these changes for you.

In another video i saw an established astrologer say about Covid era that “When Saturn returned to Makara after 30 years, it was like a master coming to his own home after a very long time- so naturally had to Clean it. ”

I can see how this casual commenatry might offend some people.

But i am beginning to see that Jyotish and ‘Real’ spirituality doesn’t coddle anyone. Some astrologers even call it a cursed profession, for their own understandable reasons. And on one level it makes sense. Not long ago I saw a video of another established jyotishi counselling someone who had lost some important aspects of his life like home, health troubles etc because he ‘casually predicted and gave free astrological advice/remedies” to people, and they clearly told this man that they do not want to be involved in his karmic pushback.

I mean, to some people such commentary/responses may seem extreme or ‘heartless’, but from a higher perspective anyone who offers truth is the bestest.

About Nakshatras- Yes, I have read many of them, recently in this one and in a previous post about PurvaBhadrapada. Looking forward for whenever a new one shows up. Thank you so much. Awaiting your next post/video.

      2. Tejaswini Avatar

        Hi there
It was nice to read your comment. You have deeply thought about things and it shows in your words.

I do not register birth/death as traumatic events. They are a routine part of existence. So many lives, so many births deaths diseases and what not. It does not matter to my mind in the least.

I feel that the only possible ‘traumatic event’ is to have the subconscious potential but not being able to use it consciously for so e reason or the other. I think that this is the worst thing to happen.

I have taken birth to work, every minute is work. ‘Rest and relaxation’ is only between lives. The Lok eg Chandralok and all mentioned in the Garud puran actually exist. You get to rest there between your forays into the Martyalok. And you get these ‘higher’ Loks only if you have done some good karma on the earth. Here you have to work – do karmic actions and deal with the consequences.

Life on earth is never 100% perfect, it cannot be.
        Change is constant and inevitable.

And yes, 99% of us fear. And it is understandable, some past life karmic events have entered so deep into the astral body that now there is fear without knowing why.
Eg my mom used to be very scared of thunder and lightning. Then one day she realised that she had died because of a lightning strike in some past life, she saw the visual in her Dhyan states and then after that she stopped being scared.

The thing is to never let any emotion enter so deeply into your subconscious mind.
Eg Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje. Everyone has seen the Chhava movie by now, so can understand this. Raje was tortured beyond imagination. His entire body was turned into a lump of painful flesh. But he had taken on Dharma so deeply into his subconscious mind that he was able to ignore that horrific trauma to the physical body. The damage to the physical body was not in his control but his Will was so strong that he did not let the trauma enter his subconscious core. And that is why in his future births he will not suffer. The body is 5 layered, not single layered.
If he would have felt fear then he would have suffered for several lives in his subconscious levels. Those who did that on him will suffer through several lives because they enjoyed doing that unspeakable horror on him. their sub-conscious body was also involved.

Our Dharma always primarily focusses on intelligence/ Buddhi /Vijnyan.
Those of lower intelligence go with the emotions and manomaykosh.
And of even lower intelligence go with the physical body level, annamaykosh.

And if some ‘astrologer’ calls it a ‘cursed profession’ then he is not genuine. Stay away from him.

Jyotish is neither ‘cursed’ not a ‘profession’.

For a real Jyotishi, this is Vedang, it is Agam Shastra, it is Vidya. It is divine.
For me the 9 graha are Bhagwan.
When I do my pujas I call them all, I refer to them as Bhagwan Ravi, Bhagwan Chandra, Bhagwan Budha Bhagwan Shukra Bhagwan Bruhaspati Bhagwan Shani Bhagwan Rahu Bhagwan Ketu. They are my Devata. And the horoscope, the 12 houses is the consciousness of Space.
They allow me to see some portion of the past/ present / future by their blessings. They are gracious, benevolent and always there. Jyotish is a blessing of the highest degree. It allows me to See the Light of the Self.

and Jyotish is not a profession. You cannot charge rates, only accept Dakshina.
I dislike these ‘modern astrologers’ who are practicing without learning Jyotish from a proper Guru. They are spoiling the name of Jyotish. And the graha devatas will not tolerate this.
‘Casual predictions’ are also an issue. People randomly say anything which does not happen and the client stops trusting Jyotish and then stops trusting Dharma and the Devatas also. Thus becomes a candidate for conversion into Adharma.

If some Jyotishi says that ‘he is not doing the reading because they do not want to be involved in his karmic pushback’, then he is not a real Jyotishi.

Jyotish is a Vidya which you need to learn from a Guru. The Guru will give you the mantras which will protect you from the karma of the clients. And you have to do these mantra always and especially before you sit with the clients. You cannot get these mantra from books, the Guru has to give them. And these mantra do not allow the karma of the client, however horrible it may be, to touch you.

And however horrible the karma may be there is always a remedy. Jyotish is all about remedies.
But the Jyotishi should know it and he should also have genuine Brahmins who can do these pujas. the Jyotishi is like a doctor, he will give prescription and the Brahmins are like the pharmacists, they will mix the mantras and give prasad from those mantras.

We have lost so much because we have stopped following the basic book of our Dharma.

On a personal level, I stopped seeing charts because I felt that my karma of seeing one to one clients was done with. And that I had to now teach and also learn some more things. So I stopped clients and started writing and reading. I have written over 16 lakh words by now. and i read and read. Will keep doing this till I can.

Thank you so much for the post. Looking back at your post on Saturn transit in Purvabhadrapada, your accuracy is uncanny.

For me Saturn is transiting over natal Rahu in Uttarabhadrapada in Ascendant and over 10th house for moon sign and Uttarabhadrapada is not a favorable nakshatra for birth moon nakshatra Ardra, also running Saturn MD/Venus AD for whole of this transit.

I understand all of these put together will be very unfavorable as it goes over Rahu. And will adversely affect physical body (health) and career. Apart from daily pujas what other precautions can I take or generate positivity?

    Thank you.

    Dear Tejaswini ji,

Thanks a lot for this post 🙏🏻 Much appreciate all your posts on transits, actually all your posts…. and the remedies you mention. I had done Chandi Homa in the past due to some BM issues and it had helped.

For Pisces ascendants – Uttarabhadrapada nakshatra – Saturn will be transiting over the Ascendant itself. Will he suppress the psychic side of these ascendants? Or will the psychic abilities continue to develop. Just to clarify that this has nothing to do with occult, only spiritual self development.

    Much gratitude

    Hola Tejaswini,

Great stuff! “Rest and relax is only between lives”. I like that.

Just a quick question: I started my Sade Sati period on 29 March this year, and I recently discovered the Yogi point in my chart which is 7°47ʾ Pisces. Saturn is lord. Does this mean that my Sade Sati will be easier to go through (at least the first part)?
