Saturn Rahu had their exact conjunction on 21^st April 2025 and now Saturn has crossed Rahu. And both the heavy weights Jupiter and Saturn have come on one side of the Rahu Ketu axis. This means that now onwards, till 2027, the Kaal sarpa energies will form and the two Lunar nodes, the Chhaya graha, will intensely drive human actions. The Kala Sarpa combination is when all the 7 planets are on one side of Rahu and Ketu axis. This is a severe energy imbalance. In 2025 this will happen on every alternate fortnight for 4 months in April, May, June and July. 

• 25 April – 07 May
• 22 May – 04 June
• 18 June – 01 July
• 15 – 21 July

Moon is the fastest moving graha and so will move out of the axis for alternating 15days while the remaining 6 planets remain hemmed in between Rahu Ketu. This combination will break in July when Mars crosses Ketu and comes out of the axis.

Kaal Sarpa means that the energies of the 7 graha of Jyotish are harnessed by Rahu and Ketu. Rahu is unending desire and Ketu is deepest wisdom, and they directly affect the subconscious. Their results are more on the subtle body, the astral body, the mind, the emotions, intellect. They give indirect material results through the planets they are connected with. And during the Kaal sarpa combination they get the opportunity to utilise the materialising power of the 7 graha to manifest their astral results. 

Rahu takes over the entire resources of the personality to advance to his deeply desired goal. So depending on your chart this can either give you unexpected success or strain on the emotional, spiritual and physical levels. And Ketu supports him by providing his deepest knowledge and wisdom. But if Ketu is not favourable for you then in this period can be depressing as you feel disconnected, lazy and lethargic. 

One tip, is for babies being born during this period from 25^th April to 21^st July and if you have an option, try avoid birth between these above dates as they will have the complete Kaal-sarpa in their birth horoscopes, all planets on one side of the axis. And babies born in the other 15day gap period will have the ‘almost’ Kaal-sarpa combination with only Moon outside the axis. Kaal sarpa is a rather mysterious combination. It does not automatically make a person unlucky, evil or anything like that. It simply means that the entire energy of the horoscope is directed to those things which Rahu indicates in that horoscope. And the things represented by Ketu, the innate learnings, the wisdom, the deepest knowledge, the incisive intelligence from his past lives will be made full use of now. Depending on if Rahu Ketu are auspicious or not for you, you will see positive or negative results. Think of it in this way, the Kaal sarpa if auspicious allows you to complete a very big chunk of karma in a way which benefits you as well as help others. There are a few typical results while this happens, but when the prize is so big, in my opinion, a few hardships are ok. But if they are not auspicious, and as a lifetime energy, then generally the life can be difficult.

In this time – April to July 2025 – Rahu will be in Pisces and then in Aquarius and Ketu will be in Virgo and then in Leo. True Rahu and Ketu change their signs on 29th May 2025. Rahu will be in Poorvabhadrapada nakshatra throughout the kaal sarpa time frame. True Ketu is currently in Uttaraphalguni and will be transiting to Purva Phalguni on 6th July.

So here is a general prediction for this Kaal Sarpa time, 

Most of us who do not have the intelligence nor the courage to understand what is really happening will behave mindlessly, do whatever they want, break rules and create havoc. The Kaal sarpa is adding to the negative combinations which are already active, and they can trigger something like a collective insanity on a global level. 

The economic war and the tariff war will continue and it will have serious implications on all nations. Import export and exchange of money/ goods on a global level will be affected. The global market place will be under strain as all nations try to act smart and break the rules. Expect economic depression, collapse of some reputed financial institution, and uncertainly to continue at least till 2027. After that some positives are possible, but as of now every nation must be ready for a break down of the global financial systems. Most nations are trying to buy Gold and silver for their financial safety. And these metals are going to get even more expensive.

All national governments will suffer because of the foreign elements who have gained access to their land. Legal refugees and illegal aliens both will cause several problems all over. The administrations will not be able to handle these issues and there will be several failures in governance. Anything foreign, exotic, different from the native culture and traditions is going to be a problem now. The governments will be so busy dealing with these emergent and unexpected foreign elements and the challenges they pose that they will not be able to actually govern. This will cause problems in most nations. 

This combination will increase heat, especially when Ketu in Leo, Expect an increase in heat – internal and external. People will be aggressive, violent and act without any sense or any fear of repercussion. Religious fanatics will cause terrorist attacks, try to disrupt the governments by planned protests and riots world over. And the weather will be very hot, unpredictable rains, wind and cyclones. And under the earth’s surface, earthquake and volcanic activity will also increase. 

On the personal levels, apart from the other problems, money will be an issue, as businesses slow down and the youth remains demotivated. There will be a lack of entrepreneurship, as Rahu will not allow any real innovation. His copy paste concept can work only to some extent, eventually it is bound to fail. 

People who have their birth Moon signs or ascendant sign in the Rahu Ketu hemming, that is – Aquarius, Pisces Aries , Taurus, Gemini, Cancer and Leo will see the more intense effects. So be alert, use your brains, think before you act.

Then for the rare few of us who have the sense to utilise the power of the Rahu and Ketu harnessing the remaining 7 planets. You will get unexpected opportunities in this time, mainly related to making money. These options may not be entirely legal but they will give you power. You will be very busy, expanding your social influence, doing a lot of networking, meeting new people. You will have the opportunity to influence large groups of people. What you do with these opportunities is your will, but do remember that Rahu – Ketu related things are always highly karmic. So try to earn good karma by working for your nation and your people in this time. 

As students of Jyotish, our job is not just to predict events. We are also required to give the remedies, we all have to work to preserve Dharma. So if you are a genuine follower of Dharma then recite the Saptashloki – just the 7 verses, preferably in the evening twilight with the intention that Devi Chandi protects our nation Bharat and the world from Adharma. If you are from a nation other than Bharat even then you can recite/ listen to the Saptashloki with the intention that Devi Chandi protects your Dharma and your nation.

Vedic Dharma has always strongly advocated fighting for Dharma. We have to take inspiration from the Itihas of Shri Ram and Shri Krishna, Avtars of Bhagwan Vishnu born as humans to serve as examples for us. And then in the recent past the Atmajnyani Swami Vidyaranya and the Vijaynagar empire, Kings Harihar and Bukka. Then Chhatrapati Shivaji and the Hindavi Swaraj. And every one of our ancestors who have fought for Dharma. We are here because they fought for us. Our Devata, our Gurus, our ancestors inspire us, protect us and guide us but we have to fight our own battles.

The coming times are extremely turbulent.
