An eclipse is an intense combination of light and shadows where the masters of illusions Rahu Ketu and the luminaries of the zodiac Sun Moon merge their powers. A partial Solar Eclipse is due on 29^th March 2025. This is the most intense Phalgun Amavasya, the last day of the ongoing Vedic year, Shri Krodhi naam samvatsar. The New Vedic year Shri Vishwaavasu naam samvatsar begins with the sunrise of 30^th March 2025. Interestingly in March 2024, we had this similar energy as there was a total solar eclipse on this same Phalgun amavasya. (Watch the YouTube video link here)

The time frame of the eclipse – 

Rahu is eclipsing the Sun in the Pisces sign.

• And during the eclipse, Pisces has 5 planets – the Sun, the Moon, Rahu, Mercury and Venus. The infinite waters of Pisces are utterly overloaded with so many graha. And Rahu the head has these many planetary ‘bodies’ and that too in Pisces. 
• Then Aquarius has a powerful Saturn in it. He is on the very last point of Aquarius during the eclipse. And he changes his sign immediately after the eclipse. Saturn is very close, within 2deg of Rahu, so their shapit yog, cursed combination is active.
• Opposite Pisces, in Virgo, we have Ketu. He is involved in the eclipse and is fully aspected by the 4 planets in Pisces.
• Then Jupiter is in Taurus. He is not directly involved but he is the ruler of Pisces, so will feel the indirect effects. Also he aspects Ketu in Virgo.
• Mars in Gemini has no direct role in this eclipse but he is directly aspecting Ketu in Virgo adding to his fiery energy.

Thus out of the 9 graha of Jyotish, 7 are directly involved and 2 are indirectly involved. This is a tremendous burst of power which is going to affect everyone. Each planet governs one relationship/ connection in our lives. So many planets getting involved in the eclipse energy means that all these many human connections and activities can get temporarily affected. Also this eclipse will have far a reaching and dangerous influence on the entire New Hindu year Shri Vishvaavasu.

On the nakshatra levels, Rahu, Moon and Saturn are in Poorvabhadrapada. Ketu is in Uttaraphalguni. And Sun, Mercury and Venus are in Uttarabhadrapada, this is the main environment of the eclipse. 

Uttarabhadrapada is a positive and auspicious nakshatra. It is ruled by the nakshatra devata Ahirbudhnya. He is the “Wise Snake who lives at the bottom of the Infinite Oceans”. He is generally benevolent but in rare cases he can show his destructive face. Uttarabhadrapada is connected to Saturn and Jupiter and at the time of the eclipse both these graha are not favourably placed. 

This eclipse will have a very deep impact on everyone’s subconscious mind and this will reflect on the conscious mind also. Expect people to be unreasonable and unbalanced for at least 2 weeks after the eclipse. They will tend to be dynamic but in destructive ways. Vindictiveness will increase. Everyone will hide their real motives and be calculative. Selfishness will increase and cooperation and collaboration will decrease. People will behave as they want, will not follow established rules and regulations. Tempers will be high and people will argue everywhere. Lack of compassion, humanity and sensitivity in this time will make things difficult. Family life and office work will be affected for most of us. Some of us will make money from illegal ways and some will face a serious financial crash. Some of us will get lazy, lethargic and fail to act in time. Sexual misbehaviour and vulgarity will increase. especially women will cross all levels of common decency. Illnesses related to digestive system, nervous systems and blood are possible in this time. 

If you have your Birth Moon or Ascendant degree in Uttarabhadrapada or Pushya or Anuradha nakshatras then you should be careful in this time frame. Also if you have any birth planets in Pisces or Virgo signs, then be careful of their significations. On the individual levels, those of us who have a powerful Yogkarak level Rahu, will be able to convert the eclipse power into once in a lifetime type of opportunities. And for the rest of us, there will be challenges. 

The entire eclipse lasts for about 4 hours so its global level effects will fade over the next 4yrs. For the individual nations, this duration, the number of years, will match the number of hours it was visible in its territory. The effects will be more intense if the national capital city witnesses the eclipse. On the political and global levels, the nations located in N America, Europe and Russia will be affected. Canada will be affected the most, followed by USA. Both have just recently witnessed the total lunar eclipse and now this solar eclipse will continue the turbulence. Some parts of Europe, northwest Africa, Northern Russia, Greenland, etc will also witness this eclipse. There will be political upheavals, socio-political issues and economic strain for all the nations who will witness this  eclipse. People who live in these areas have to perform the pujas – daana, mantra etc to safely channelise the eclipse energies. 

The water bodies – Arctic, northern Atlantic oceans will absorb the eclipse energy. So in the short term expect, storms, rains and unnatural weather for at least for 2 weeks after the eclipse.  In any case, the scale of the eclipse is huge and everyone on this earth will feel its effects, directly or indirectly.

Virgo and Pisces birth Moon signs. Virgo and Pisces are the most sensitive signs of the zodiac and this eclipse will cause severe stress to these two birth Moons. Both will go through unavoidable karmic events in this time. Best keep for a low profile for at least 2 weeks after the eclipse as karmic events will be active and your interference will add to the problems. Especially take care of your health, avoid careless and risky behaviour. Keep track of your financials and do not trust anyone in this period. If Rahu is favourable then you will get some unique opportunities and long pending issues may be decided in your favour.

• Specifically for the Virgo Birth Moons, this sign is under the most extreme stress as it is being influenced by all the 9 graha of Jyotish. All the energy of Time and Space is tearing into this highly sensitive sign and this will cause it unbearable stress. Your lord Mercury is debilitated and combust and unable to support you. You may even fall physically ill on this day. Keep a strict control over your words in this time frame.
• Specifically for the Pisces birth Moon signs, this sign is under a lot of stress and you must take rest. Keep a low profile for at least 2 weeks after the eclipse, so that the triggered karma subsides somewhat.

Then for the other birth Moon signs.

Aries birth Moons, you might have a tough month after the eclipse. You could feel tired and drained. Dreams and nightmares can give you trouble sleeping. Financial issues can be stressful. This is not the time for big decisions. Some loss is certain in this time so be alert. 

Taurus birth Moons – you have this eclipse burst in your 11^th house so expect new and interesting people to enter your life. There will be a temporary boost in life. You might get some unexpected gains. You can consider calculated risks, but only if your birth chart and dasha supports you. 

Gemini birth Moons – you will have to finally complete your pending works. Missed opportunities and mistakes from the past will cause you stress. Professional life will be turbulent. Boss will be unsympathetic, teammates will not support. And family life will be disturbed. 

Cancer birth Moons – you will have to now face the effects of some past actions which you took under wrong advice. Your teachers, seniors, elders and peers will pressurise you in this time. Do not listen to them, think for yourself. You may be forced to pay off some ancestral debts in this time.

Leo birth Moons – you might see at least one emergency situation in this time frame. Be careful when driving, do not engage in risky behaviour. Your in-laws will cause you stress and your spouse will not listen to you.

Sagittarius birth Moons – you will be unable to rest. You will be required to travel a lot as a part of your job. Your family members will argue with your and your office teammates can try to actively harm your reputation. Do not trust anyone in this period. Parents may need your attention.

Capricorn birth Moons – you will feel bold and willing to take risks in this time. You can convert challenges into opportunities in this time frame, if your birth chart is favourable. Try to capitalise on this energy. Avoid getting into illegal activities and do not cheat others in this time. 

 Aquarius birth Moons – you will face losses and might need to use your saved money. Do not trust your close family members, they may break your trust. This is not a time to discuss family issues.  Health issues can occur so try to follow proper diet and rest in this time. If Rahu is favourable then you might get some money through speculation.

Eclipses release pending karma in a burst and this energy can be overwhelming. And this is the Phalgun amavasya, the last dark night of the year and the eve of the new Vedic year.  Thus this eclipse will bring in significant turbulence which will continue into the New Vedic Year Shri Vishvaavasu naam samvatsara.
