Turbulent planetary energies in 2025

The calendar year 2024 was a very turbulent year on several levels. And the few positives were largely overshadowed by the  numerous negatives.

As per Vedic astrology, the current year is Shri Krodhi Naam samvatsar which is living upto its as name ‘Krodhi’ means the ‘Angry man’. (Post here and here) The new Vedic year Shri Vishwavasu naam samvatsar  will begin on 30th March 2025. So this calendar year 2025 is not a ‘new year’ from the Jyotish point of view.

This post is an overview of the planetary movements of the calendar year 2025.  In short 2025, promises to be even more turbulent than 2024. The first half of 2025 will be more turbulent and in the second half we may get some breathing space. (Youtube Video link here)

There are the 4 slow moving graha of Jyotish, Saturn, Rahu Ketu and Jupiter who define the background energy of any current time. They stay in a sign for extended periods and their this slowness grants stability to our lives. Saturn – 2.5yrs per sign.  Jupiter – 1yr per sign Rahu and Ketu both at 1.5 yrs per sign. And whenever they change their signs they cause significant changes in our lives, related to the aspects of life that they control. Unfortunately in 2025 all four of them will be changing signs in a very short space of 2 months! For all of us, these transits will trigger a very large quantum of change in a very short time span. Most of us will not be able to adjust to this rate of change.

First Saturn.

He enters Pisces on 29th March 2025. And here he can cause karmic losses and karmic endings of various types, depending on your personal birth chart.

But the main issue here is that Pisces is the most sensitive sign of the zodiac and it is already hosting Rahu. So an intense Shapit Dosh, cursed combination of Saturn Rahu will begin in Pisces. This intense energy was last seen in 1968 and 1968 was considered to be the most turbulent single year in recent human history. This energy repeats after a gap of 57yrs now, in 2025.

In fact, Saturn and Rahu will start influencing each other as soon as they get within 15deg of each other, ie from 15th January 2025. So this Makar Sankranti onwards we will see and increase in turbulent events around the world, in every nation and in everyone’s personal life also. The exact results will depend on the power of the national and individual horoscopes, and the position of the Pisces sign in it.

And even after Rahu exits Pisces on 29th May 2025, these two will continue to influence each other till the end of 2025. They will remain within 15deg of each other for the entire calendar year 2025. This one fact alone promises that 2025 will be a turbulent year.

www.psychologicallyastrology.com

Then Venus – Pisces is also going to host Venus for an extended stay. He will be here from 28th Jan to 31st May. This is an extraordinarily long time as he generally stays in one sign for about 28days. In this very long time he will be going retrograde from – 2nd March to 13th April in Pisces. In this time, Venus will be obviously conjunct Rahu and also Saturn. Venus – Rahu has a potential for mischief. And Venus – Saturn is inherently uncomfortable. And Venus + Shapit yog is not good. Actually Venus is exalted in Pisces so he could have been useful, but he has been spoilt.

Next Mars – Mars is currently retrograde and is debilitated in Cancer. He will enter Gemini on 21st Jan. Then go forwards in Gemini on 24th Feb. He will again enter Cancer on 2nd Apr and be here till 8th June. He is debilitated in Cancer, staying here for so many days, going forwards and backwards here, all of which will add to the instability. He will encourage aggression, fights for lands, border issues, scandals, diplomatic failures, uncontrollable passions, sabotage, covert ops, terrorism etc. He can create twisted mindsets with a strong desire for revenge and destruction.

Then Jupiter – Then in these two months of the intense Shapit yog energy, Saturn will aspect Jupiter with his 3rd aspect. Saturn in Pisces who is already afflicted by Rahu will not allow Jupiter to function properly from 29th March to 14th May 2025. This is a short time frame but can trigger extreme events. The primary effect will be on the global economy, which will suffer. National economies will also feel the negatives. So do save your resources and keep some money saved for emergencies. Then this time will also cause some public health concerns. Especially as food and medicine may be an issue in this time.

These two months of the full Shapit dosh will see both the Celestial Gurus under the influence of Saturn + Rahu. Thus they will not be able to give proper guidance in this time.

Then Jupiter changes 3 signs and moves across signs 4 times in 2025. Currently he is in Taurus then he enters Gemini – 14th May 2025. Then rushes extremely fast through Gemini in the Atichar movement, and enters Cancer – 18th Oct, then he turns retrograde and reenters Gemini on 5th Dec 2025. As per the standard reference books, specifically Atichari and retrograde/Vakri Jupiter does not give auspicious results. He is the Jivkarak, support life and the experience of living on this earth. But these rapid transits and changes in speed and direction is going to give continuous series of rapid changes in everyone’s lives, which will be difficult to manage for some of us.

Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, but he is going forwards and backwards like this, so is not going to generate long term benefits. Short term opportunities may open up but they may not give you the desired long term results. In short, Jupiter will not give expected or favourable or long term results in 2025.

www.psychologicallyatrology.com

Then Rahu and Ketu, The Chhaya grahas are forces of shadows and illusions and they also change their signs in this time. They are currently in Pisces – Virgo. And Rahu enters Aquarius and Ketu enters Leo on 29th May 2025 (always use true values not mean values).

Rahu in Aquarius can give some benefits only if you take extraordinary risks. But this is not generally advisable unless you have an extraordinary birth horoscope to begin with. He is influenced by Saturn as he remains within 15deg of Saturn throughout this year. So people will be encouraged to commit frauds. Most of these frauds will be exposed, but only after they have caused damage. Public mass movements, mindless behaviour, restlessness, greed, over-inflated expectations and desire to cheat will dominate all human interactions in this time. Smuggling, speculation, financial frauds, cheap politics, and fanatics motivated by religion will cause trouble.

Ketu in Leo is generally ok. He may give some breakthroughs for those who are inclined towards spirituality and philosophy. But, on the general level, given the rest of the planetary energies, I think he will force the governance to become more extreme. We might see the emergence of nations/ political systems where the freedoms of the citizens are reduced. This will have its own implication on the nations and the global systems.

Then Sun and Moon – the two luminaries will go through their routine interactions with Rahu and Ketu. There are 4 eclipses in 2025. One lunar and one solar in March and one lunar and one solar in September. The March eclipses will be intense. Especially the   29th March Solar eclipse will be in Pisces and involve 6 planets. This is going to be an incredible surge of energy which will have far reaching impact on all of us. The second solar eclipse will be visible only around Antarctica, this one will have more weather related effects. Both the 2025 Lunar eclipses are Total eclipse events so as expected  they will have their intense effects on the human minds.

Finally the Pisces sign – Pisces is under tremendous stress in the first half of the 2025. This is the most sensitive sign of the zodiac. Whatever happens here affects the entire zodiac. And it will have 6 planets in it at one point of time – Rahu, Saturn, Sun, Moon, Venus, Mercury. Eclipses, Stellium ie planetary war/ graha yuddha and shapit yog all in Pisces. The release of energy will be very high and we must be prepared to navigate through this.

Overall the first half of 2025 is be full of dramatic changes, one after the other. Things will move so fast, that we will not get time to process these changes. Time will seem to literally fly. And the second half of 2025, as Saturn and then Jupiter go retrograde, we might get some space to process and make some sense of these changes.

In short, the energies of this calendar year 2025 are not very favourable. There is lesser support from the transiting planets. Your overall experience of this year, positive or negative will depend more on the power of your birth horoscopes and the remedies which you will  perform in this time. So do take up a daily routine and be sincere about it. And give Daana to the Navgraha temple on the days the planets transit into the next signs. This will help balance their energies in your life.

The world has already entered a very turbulent stage of destabilisation which will continue till the mid 30s at least . And we all need to make use of the timeless wisdom of Vedic Astrology, Jyotish to navigate these changing times ahead.

      not just spiritual strength,
      physical, material, financial etc also

the Pandavs had spiritual strength ie Bhagwan Shri Krishna on their side .. but they had to fight on the very material levels also..

    Namaste mam,

Thank you very much for this detailed eye opener post.

How would this year turn out for those planning one of the major sanskar during the year 2025, like marriage or upanayana or any other major event? What precautions can be taken?

    Thank you,

      Hi there
check the charts and get the proper muhurt from a competent astrologer.
and do all the pujas properly..

most of the weddings i have been to in the past 5yrs or so were inherently inauspicious as the couple was more interested in showing off and making reels.. the photographer was more important than the Brahmin..
i have no issues with making reels and having fun, but do not replace the tradition, culture, pujas.
you can always add more fun events and all but do not replace the real traditions.

As always, thank you for your post, I really enjoy and get a lot out of them. To better understand how this might affect me personally, would it be the house that pisces sits in my D1 chart? Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

      Hi there
      yes,
whatever Pisces means to you in your birth chart, D1. eg in the 4th house will mean mother, residence, vehicles, etc the physical environment..

Hello and thank you for these analyses, valuable in these uncertain times. In French we have a proverb that says “a man forewarned is worth two”. I understand that in such circumstances, one will say he can only count on himself and not that much, while another will seek the support of his spiritual strength. In fact, one can honestly feel quite helpless in the face of the forces present. But, don’t you believe that, just as there are powers and counter-powers (temporal power v/s spiritual authority), this is also found in the way in which Jyotish will illuminate such situations? With this in mind, what do you think of a possible influence of the Maha Kumbh Mela, as a counterweight with its 400 million people and celebrations which will last from January 13 to February 26, Maha Shivaratri day?

    1. Tejaswini Avatar

      Hi there
      yes of course,
the foundation is always spiritual strength. but that spiritual strength has to convert into material strength.

unfortunately in India, there is a misunderstanding that ‘god will do everything’. we are only required to sit down in front of him and cry and weep and all.. and the ‘god’ in his infinite kindness will destroy our enemies for us..
it does not work like this…
to counter this ‘weeping theory’ we have to look at the example of the Pandavs. they had spiritual strength, they had done lots of tapas, gained mantras etc and Shri Krishna/ Bhagwat Gita was with them. but they also had to physically work, fight, etc.
that spiritual strength gave them the physical strength.
their mantra shakti gave them access to astra. they had siddhis and they used them in war..

we always have to convert theory to practical ..
eg I may be very sure that I am the Eternal Self and that this Universe is my own Self.
but then i have to be able to convert this into the material level too..
knowing the Self, totally removes all fear, all doubt and all confusion.. and only then can one Act in the real sense..
and that is why we have the Bruhataranyak upanishad, all the practicals are given in this one humungous text..

if you can understand hindi there are two songs which i think are the best ever in hindi cinema.. and very much applicable in real life.
      1. mann re tu kahe na dheer dhare – by M.Rafi
      2. aarambh hai prachand – by Piyush Mishra

Yes, thank you for this development which contextualizes the necessary conversion without which to live within remains a dream. Thank you also for the two songs in Hindi for which I found the lyrics that I was able to have translated. And thank you finally for inviting me to reread the Bṛhadāraṇyakopaniṣad. This made me remember one of the “Talks with Sri Ramana Maharshi” (Talk 376) where it says “Everyday life is not divorced from the Eternal State. So long as the daily life is imagined to be different from the spiritual life these difficulties arise. If the spiritual life is rightly understood, the active life will be found to be not different from it.” And it is so true that in India as elsewhere, spiritual life is too rarely understood in this way. I also really appreciated your video “Convert Negative Life Experiences into Real Positives” from this angle. Well said. Continue your good work which honors your Master.

        Hi there
Bruhataranyak is very important as it is technically the final in the compulsory list. and especially as it has all those sadhanas. these are the next step and they are then given in detail in the tantra/Shrividya books.

Tantra is essential as it is the practical portion of the vedant.
After reading the Prasthan traya, we become 100% sure that I am Everything, that the Universe is My Own Self. But now theory /conviction has to be converted to practical. For this we have the Bruhataranyak sadhanas which are expanded in the tantra books.

The material universe – vyavharik satta – transactional universe is governed by the ‘Ishwar’.
And the paramarthik satta – Keval Advaita is pure non duality – Anirvachaniya – indescribable – Poorna – completeness, fullness
And Tantra is what helps the mind make this leap from Ishwar to the Keval Advaita. And yet remain functional in the material world. this is why the Bruhataranyak is critically important.

My Sat Guru told me that i have to write, then he told me that i must also make these videos ..
time is always a constraint. i have a full time job, a family and all and my own studies. but then.. he has said it so i have to do it..

Hello and thank you for this additional information. What gives meaning to life is a serious subject. You are doing a service for this true blessing of having a true Master, a Sadguru. I met your Master almost 25 years ago in Banganga, Walkeshwar, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It was His mention on your blog as well as your interest in the study of Sanskrit as well as radionics that led me to consult your publications. Whether on Vedic astrology or spirituality, the number of things published is inversely proportional to the quality of the things published. What to do about it, if not what you do, an alternative to these countless excesses. As for this precious Upanishad it is also true that even with the commentary (bhashya) of the great Shankara its study is not easy. And, since you cite the Prasthanatrayi, what is true for this Upanishad is also true for the other Upanishads, the Brahma Sutras, the Gita, etc. So of course study is not everything and we must never forget the warning in the chorus of Bhaja Govindam, especially if we take into account the fact that this song (so well rendered by M.S. Subbulakshmi) is attributed to Adi Shankara! But you are right, study must go hand in hand with practice as knowledge (Jnana) with devotion (Bhakti). Experiencing this in the world where we play our role to the best of our ability, that is what practice is all about. This requires, demands, a lot of energy, time invested and honesty. Sometimes it is poetry that gives us an idea of what is expected of us. Whether through the voice of Kumar Gandharva or with the reading of the first chapter of Sri Jnanadeva’s Amritanubhava. In any case, in your defense of Bharat, you are certainly defending a territory which still allows this experience of ambrosia to germinate in the hearts of a few. This, by the presence of true Masters on this land. Best wishes.

        Hi there
It’s so nice of you to mention my Satguru. Thank you for sharing your memory of meeting him:) it brought me joy
He was in the physical shell till 2001.

Yes, the Upanishads are not easy to study. But I have had the advantage of listening to my Sat Guru’s pravachans on the topic ever since I was born.
He used to give hours long pravachans in the 80s. I was a child but yet would sit. in fact my extended family, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins we all would sit for the 6-7 hrs so that we could listen pravachans.
My mom and dad have their notes from his pravachans from their young age. My dad has written these notes in the books he has published.
And my grandmothers had their notes from Shri Siddharameshwar Maharaj’s pravachans which they had instened to when they were children.

Do not dismiss the Prasthan traya on basis of the ‘Bhaja Govindam’ poem. Reading these Vedant books is incredibly important.
in fact this poem also talks about the Keval advaita.
what is ‘bhaja’ what is ‘govinda’ what is ‘moodha’ and what is ‘mati’?
‘Govinda’ means the one who has achieved the ‘Go’. even if you consider ‘Govinda’ to mean ‘Shri Krishna’..
Shri Krishna is not the human here. He is the unknowable ‘Attributelessness’ Keval Advaita. The same as Devi Kali.
And ‘bhaja’ has several meanings but here it means the ‘undivided’ ..
Here Swami talks about ‘Moodh mati’ . Mati here means Vijnyan.
From my experience only 1% people have some access to Vijnyan. Most are in the Maanas position of the subtle body.

Swami wrote the Bhashyas of the Upanishads, BG, Brahmasutra.. and he wrote on Tantra, saundaryalahiri, he established Vedantic maths and also Shri yantras all over the land..
He never wrote on Vyakran.. Vyakran/grammar is neither Vedant nor Shri Vidya.
So we have to study the Vedant and then read the books on Shri Vidya so that we can use the Vedantic concepts in material life. Theory and practical both ..

My Sat Guru generally told his disciples to just do the naam mantra and read the Shrimad Dasbodh. it is the main book of the Sampraday which everyone has to read.
But for some like my dad, my mom, my aunt, he would assign books. lots of books and in sanskrit. especially I remember dad was made to read Yogvashishta and he would insist on that we first read the Sanskrit even if we do not fully understand and then the Marathi translation.

When my time came to read, I was first given Vivekchudamani. Then the Bhagwat Gita Bhashya then the Brahma Sutra. it took me some time.. the concepts are so mind-blowing..

My Sat Guru would very often give a definition for ‘Bhakt’ as ‘the one who is not Vibhakt is a Bhakt’ – that means ‘the one who is not divided is the Bhakt’

Sanskrit is necessary. It gives Sanskar .. Sam beej .. without Sanskrit it is just not possible,.

Bruhataranyak is the apex of thinking process – it is Vijnyan.. it has Rasa.. vedant is really very Rasamay.. ultimately Shaanta rasa.. Acharya Abhinavgupta has given a very beautiful concept of the Shaant rasa.
Vedanta and its pracitical Shri Vidya textbooks are the domain of the Sanyasi, the one who has Vijnyan.

Vedpurava, karmakaand, moortipuja is all dvaita, or vishishtha-advaita. we take our time over this until the maanas is strengthened. and then we start with the vedant.

and yes, we do not have to read everything, there is an infinite ocean of books, commentaries sub commentaries ….. never ending.. we can never read everything.
we just have to read enough so we can with full conviction say that ‘I Am’ ‘Satyam Jnyanam Anantam Brahma’…

and there will always be very few..
Shri Krishna spoke the BG, we consider him to be the Poornavatar and all now..
but he too got only one disciple of that caliber in his entire lifetime to whom he could speak the BG.

my Satguru said this once.. Atmajnyani Gurus are rare but genuine shishyas who really want what that Atmajnyani Guru is capable of giving are even rarer..

        Best wishes to you too

I assume 2025 will further increase stress on physical levels, and cause more issues with career/ relationships (Pisces is 10th house in moon chart): this has been ongoing for a few years.
Am not sure how much more this body/mind can take honestly, even with daily pujas.

        1. Yes, the kid will have the energy for lifetime. I’m trying to understand how it will impact their life.. meaning, turbulence for their lifetime or heros will be born to make the world better in their own way as they are taking birth at such a transition point? And from another point of view, what kind of soul would choose such time period to incarnate on earth plane?

        2. Thank you for reaffirming my belief! I’m taking this decision while most of the people around me have been pointing out what all great material privileges baby would miss out by not being born in western developed countries…

Many loving energies from me to you and your family of gratitude and sincerity.

I am expecting a baby around end of June/July. How will these energies affect newborns and their life ? I’m very worried about ketu and magal (mars) conjunct.

Also I’m fairly sure a while ago there was a post here (which I’m unable to find now ) about what to do for the first 40 days after a baby is born . How to acclimated them into the material world. Would you mind either linking me to that post or making a post around How to handle childbirth in turbulent years or generally what to do after a baby is born ?

I remember it had things like keeping the room dark , information about what to do / not to do for the babys energies. How to protect their aura when relatives come to visit in hospital those first crucial days.

    Thankyou 😊

    1. Tejaswini Avatar

      Hi there
i have not written anything like this. keeping room dark? why?
the baby must get some natural light, especially the early morning when the sunlight is gentler.

we do 2 sanskars during the pregnancy period. pumsavan and semantonayan.

baby is given a name on the 12th day. this is the Naamkaran sanskar. after this outsiders are allowed to see the baby. but we do not put the baby in their arms.

in my family we do the Karnabhed sanskar immediately, within 1 month of the birth.
but this can vary in some families.

and then Nishkaraman sanskar is the first time the baby is taken to the temple of the Kuldevata or any local temple. this is around the 40th day.

you can ask your family Brahmin for the muhurts for the sanskars.
if any remedial puja are to be done, show the baby chart to your regular astrologer and get the pujas done.

        Thankyou for the response Didi,

I might have misremembered it then . I thought babies had light sensitivity due to delicate skin and eyes so maybe I might have read it somewhere else to ease them into the sun. But you’re making sense , they do need some gentle sun.

Would you please consider making a post about how to best Infuse vedic upbringing to the first few years of a child’s life . My family doesn’t have a go to astrologer or know about our kul dev/devi. I missed out on garbhadharan ceremony but I will be doing a namakaran sanskar.

        Thankyou for your guidance.

Also , happy new year !

        Much gratitude and obeisances

      2. Tejaswini Avatar

        Hi there
the child’s eyes are sensitive to harsh and bright lights. but no need to keep it in dark room. normal lights in a normal home are good enough

and my one strong suggestion is – do not show the baby screens of any sort till it is forced to do so in school.

you can still do the pumsavan and seemantonayan.

do some mantra daily of Bhagwan Vishnu or Devi Laxmi for the child
and do your daily pujas, do the festival pujas. as the child watches you do it, it will also do all these things. teach by example.

I have Libra ascendant with sun moon Mars Mercury Jupiter in Scorpio and venus rahu in Virgo saturn in Sagittarius. Detachment karak ketu from 6th house aspects venus rahu Sun moon Mars Mercury Jupiter. What are detachments?
2025 planetary conjunction shows detachment. How will it affect me?

Kashmir Shaivism also says that your everyday life is not separated from God, they are one, whether we like it or not. There is nothing you can do about it 🙂

      Hi there
but not everyone realises it. and after realising it intellectually does not want to work on it to actually feel it practically.
if you study ‘kashmir shaivism’ then read the spandakarika. simplest way of putting it.
and it is ultimately from the vedant, esp discussed in depth in the bruhataranyak

Hi Tejaswini, another great article! Thanks as always. Keen to know your views on which countries do you feel will be the worst affected by this turbulence? I live in New Zealand so that’s a vested interest.

      Hi there
you will have to read the ‘birth chart’ of your nation.

but as a general guideline if i use the 2025 Makar Sankranti purush descriptions – he is ‘travelling South’ so australia and new zealand etc may face natural calamities or civil unrest .

but do check your nation’s chart.

Thank you for the article. One question I have: When Shani moves into pisces, Shukra is already there. Rahu is Shukra’s student. Shani is Shukra’s friend. Wouldn’t Venus as the Guru ensure things don’t blow up, since he’s there in between ?
Also, for someone who has a natal exalted Venus in the 9th house, would this still be as turbulent ?

    Thank you as always 🙏

      Hi there
yes, Shukracharya is Rahu’s Guru. and Shukra Shani are friends.
i will be writing on Shukra in Meen rashi in a week or so. so wait for the post.
      interesting times ahead ..

        Namaste Tejaswini ji,

Love your videos and this blog🙏🏻 Eagerly awaiting your next posts. In the meantime, I remember you had mentioned in the ‘Most intensely karmic Vimshottari dashas’ post that Saturn AD in Venus MD and Venus AD in Saturn MD are the most difficult periods. In my own experience Saturn AD in Venus MD has been utterly traumatic. Saturn took away my illusions w.r.t. my closest relationship but I’m willing to face the truth, no matter how difficult it is. I am still working on setting aside my deepest emotions and seeing the lessons/ truth. It has been extremely painful but have to be faced. I know a person with Sat/Ven/Rahu conj. in 7th house who got into an (inappropriate) relationship in his school days, did not focus on his education when he should have, academically not good, married early against his father’s wishes to an unsuitable girl, now in debt and facing an unstable, erratic career and divorce. This was one of my study sample charts. I did not give any reading to this person but just observed how his life unfolded. I dont think even in a transit Ven/Sat or Ven/Sat/Rahu conjunction can give good results despite their being friends. Sat/Rahu conjunction is anyways a Shapit yog. This is my beginner level understanding. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

If you see the recent news there are many fire related incidents happening in many parts of the world, more so in the U.S. …. this is already not a good time.

        Much gratitude
