Timing death for close relations

Sometimes you will get clients whose parents or near relations are seriously ill and they do not have the correct birth time available. So of course you will use the prashana kundali to analyse the health and recovery of the client’s relative. But sometimes it can be serious and you may see no chance of recovery. Predicting death in clear words is never advisable unless you are very sure, as it can break down the will power of the family/patient. Or later there might be doubts in your own mind if you did the correct thing by telling them what you saw.

Here is a simple way to recheck your grim predictions. So you do not have the birth details of the patient, and the prashana kundali indicates death. But you have the exact birth time of the patient’s son/daughter/brother/spouse. Look up this relative’s chart and find out which Mahadasha/ Antardasha and current transits are on for this relative.

The rulers of the 2nd and 7th houses counted from the ascendant are called the natural marak /death-inflicting planets and determine the timing of physical death of the body. If we count this second and seventh houses from other houses, then their owners can be used to indicate timing of death of the close relations signified by these houses.

Timing death for close relations

First using the Vimshottari system,

Spouse – Period of the ruler of the 1st house can cause death of the spouse. The 1st house is located seventh from the 7th house which represents the spouse. Also the period of the ruler of the 8th house of the native’s chart. (8th is second from 7th)

Mother– Period of the ruler of the 5th house can indicate the death of the mother. The 5th house is counted second from the 4th house. Also the period of the ruler of the 10th house (10th house is counted seventh from the 4th house).

Father – Period of the ruler of the 4th house can cause death of the person’s father. It is seventh counted from the 10th house. The 10th is the house of the father. Also the period of the ruler of the 11th house can be used for timing death of the biological father. (Some consider the 9th house to be the house of the father, but I have found that the 9th is more apt for father-figures, teachers, Guru/second-father/spiritual-father, ancestors, patrons etc. The biological father is better seen from the 10th house).

Siblings – Period of the ruler of the 4th house can cause death of the siblings, cousins, brothers. The 4th house is the second counted from the 3rd house. And the period of the ruler of the 9th house (counted seventh from the 3rd house).

Children – Unfortunately this also happens sometimes, parents have to go through the pain of seeing a child leave the body. In this case birth time would be available so you can check for longevity from the child’s chart itself. But as a secondary confirmation, you will find that in the parent’s charts, the 6th and 11th house lords periods/sub-periods can indicate the death of a child.

Now from the transits,

Check out the transits of the biggest separative graha, Ketu and the agent of constriction Saturn. e.g. Last year, Ketu was in Capricorn, counted fourth from Libra. I observed 3 clients with Libra ascendants bidding farewell to their mothers in this period of 1.5yrs. So check if you have Saturn or Ketu transiting houses which indicate close relations as per your birth chart, e.g. 1st house = self, 3rd = siblings, 4th = mother, 5th = children, 7th = wife/husband, 10th = father. Then check the chart of that person for longevity, if he has neared his/her allotted life-span, then death of the body might occur. If not then this combination will give temporary separation, e.g. living away for studies or work etc.

While analysing, look for patterns which repeat, one single combinations does not make a reading. There will be at least 2-3 combinations which will confirm the reading.

Timing death for close relations

(These are just a few tips to get you interested in analysis. No event occurs in isolation, all are interconnected. Always keep a database of your and extended family’s charts with you so that you can learn as events happen in their lives.)

Mantra is not a prayer

For how long can you play a game?

The Devi pervades everything. First we experience her energy, then she guides us onward to Ourself. The ‘Mother Goddess’ has been worshipped in all faiths in some form or the other. (Again we are talking about energy, so the gender related words are meaningless, the simplest reason is ‘still’ energies are referred to as ‘masculine’ and energies ‘in motion’ are ‘feminine’. There are other reasons too, but this much is ok for now.)

The energy geometry, the mantras, the everything is created by a Ray of Light of the Devi. You follow this ray back to her. Whatever you do will lead you to her. Even your emotions, your longing! When you reach the extreme limit of any emotion you find the Ultimate. Extreme ecstasy and also extreme grief (e.g. Kunti in Mahabharat) will lead you to the Ultimate. In the Mahabharat war, the Kaurav princes all died on the battlefield, they displayed ultimate valour. They died in a battle for Dharm (i.e. their deepest conscience approved), the focus on Dharm was so strong that ‘body’ and ‘death‘ lost meaning. They got the Ultimate experience of valour, thus their veergati (movement due to valour) led to Moksh.

What is death? From an energy point of view it is leaving the physical body through any of the available energy channels/naadi. Moksh is when you leave the physical body through the highest high tension energy channel/the Brahmanaadi within the Sushumna.

Mantra is not a prayer

You choose your life path (this can be an emotion) and you continue along it taking in the experiences. At one point you realise that there is nothing more you can experience in this path. You are Satisfied, thus you are Free. You transcend.

The Devi has created you and she is your mother. There is a saying in Sanskrit (Devbhasha Samskritam) which means the ‘Mother is the first Guru‘. In the mundane sense of course our mothers are our first teachers, but a teacher is called ‘Adhyapak’ not ‘Guru’. The one who gives spiritual wisdom is Guru. The Devi is our Guru, inspiring us towards the Ultimate.

When you think of the Devi, perhaps you visualise a woman wearing a sari, wearing lots of jewellery and holding weapons in her hands. This is good enough for those who have just stepped into this school of spirituality. But if you have reached middle school, you have to come out of this superficial external appearance. Think in terms of geometry and energy and see the way your mind realigns itself.

Do this tiny experiment. When you are very relaxed, sit with your neck and back straight. Keep the room dark or wear an eye mask if you are out in nature. Focus into your third eye. Breathe slowly for a few minutes and relax some more. Then gently ask yourself how do I really look like? The answer you get from Yourself just might surprise you!

A way to gauge your spiritual progress. Sit comfortably in pitch dark, back and neck straight, in silence alone. (if you cannot sit, lie down then in the Shavasan, just keep your back and neck as straight as possible). There should not be disturbances around you. Close your eyes and focus into your third eye for a few minutes. Observe what you see, perhaps reddish color or multicolored clouds or a mix of 1-2 colours or one single color? Do you know what you would see if you were doing your practice regularly? Just a sparkly bright white color throughout your vision field always. Surprised?

Mantra is not a prayer

I had written earlier on how your naadi and chakra energy self is created and maintained. Subtle seeds of Vibration manifested in the physical world as sound. So let’s start with sound first, increase its intensity, experience the Vibration, then onto Intention and then Reality. Do your spiritual practice regularly for just 6 months and observe the colors in your closed eyes again, you will see for yourself.

Mantras are Sanskrit, this language ‘defines Light’ (Dev Bhasha) in the most perfect way (Sams-krutam). Light here means the Creative force of the Ultimate. To know the Ultimate you have to know its Creative force first. Just as to know the Lamp, first you need to experience its Light.

Mantra is not a prayer. Mantra is an aspect of the energy of creation. If you do not understand this, the mantra you recite will never give its full result. Mantra is not a prayer, it is an aspect of Yourself. When you recite it, repeat it, you are entraining your lower self. You are making your lower self resonate with an aspect of your own Divinity. You are setting your own geometry right. Experiencing a ray of your own Light.

So how to increase the potency of the mantra you are using. Do your mantra jaap in your mind, focussing on your third eye chakra. In this mental recitation of the mantra, the energy of the mantra directly links into your energy self and creates subtle vibrations along it.

Use the mantra Om or Soham or Hamsa for your Dhyan (detailed post here)

(Technical stuff – I had written earlier about creation from Vibrations. Parabrahma – Devi – Naada (of two types – Nadant and Nirodhini) – Om – Bindu – Vama/Jeyshtha/Raudri – Sapt-Matrika – 16 Kala – the vowels and consonants of the Sanskrit language. This is sequence in which creation goes down the energy ladder. When you recite the mantra mentally, the Nirodhini component of Naada is then linked to it, you are one step closer to Reality.)

So how long will you play this Game? You decide for yourself and once you have experienced it all, you transcend it and you come Home.

Mantra is not a prayer

No one can make new mantras in this age! If you get hear a ‘new’ mantra discovered by some new-age ‘Guru’ do not use it, it will damage.

A colleague of mine, a reiki teacher herself, was ‘doing’ a new mantra from a hi-if fashionable ‘Guru’ in Delhi. Apparently it was for increasing wealth. When I met her, her entire energy body was trembling with the imbalance, I could not have the tea she made, but could eat the snacks her cook had prepared! She surprise hugged me as I left, and it was a psychic vampire thing, she drained me of my energy in one shot, she transferred her ‘black energy of imbalance’ to me. Her body was desperately requesting positive energy and I guess my higher self gave it. Then as I sat in my car, I started shivering, crying, my body went cold, the aura scattered and the driver was staring. It took a few minutes to clean up my aura, it was a horrid experience.

And I learnt all over again to not touch or hug other people!

So do not experiment with new mantra. Stick with Om /Soham /Hamsa for doing your Dhyan/spiritual practice or a mantra described by the ancient seers/Rishi for doing jaap.)

Planets to help you in your Pregnancy

The planets have a significant influence on our development right from conception. While we are in the mother’s womb, her horoscope had overarching influence on us, then followed by the father’s horoscope. A human pregnancy lasts for about 280 days. We think of it as 9 months, but more correctly its is about 9 Solar months and 10 exact Lunar months. (One Lunar month is for 28days.) The Lunar month is more important here as menstrual cycle too is linked to the moon. So one human pregnancy is 10 Lunar months of 28 days each.

We can use astrology to help a pregnant woman and her baby. We can use our Intentions and the energies of the planets harnessed through their specific mantras. Each planet governs a specific phase of the in-womb development, thus strengthening the planetary influences by reciting their mantras always helps.

Now check out the horoscope of the pregnant woman. Check out the following especially, and the other planets too, as each one of them is involved in creating a new human baby.

  1. 5th house – its sign, the occupant planets, and the owner planet – this is the house which creates the child
  2. 8th house – the reproductive organs of the mother
  3. Sun – natural ruler of the 5th sign of the zodiac will influence the creation of the child wherever he may be placed.
  4. Mars – The natural owner of the 8th sign of the zodiac and the energy and vitality of the reproductive organs is linked to him.
  5. The relative strength of all the planets should be examined, especially the debilitated or combust or retrograde planets and the planets located in the 6th house, 8th house and 12th houses should be checked. Planets under the influences of malefics may also need to be supported during the pregnancy.
  6. The transiting planets over this period of pregnancy should be given due attention too.
  7. One point to highlight. Abortion, Miscarriage and Medical termination of pregnancy can be seen from that month’s ruling planet, if he is adversely placed in the mother’s birth and transit charts and both and her 5th and 8th house shows additional malefic influences.

Planets to help you in your Pregnancy

The first month of 28 days – This period immediately follows intercourse and is ruled by Venus/Shukra. The sperm and ovum combine to produce the embryo. A time of very high activity in the embryo where the cells are set up in blocks destined to be the new body. The cells are still fluid in the sense the programming is not yet fixed. The cells are still totipotent, one initial cell can give rise to several types of cells. During this period if the mother’s chart has a weak birth Venus or even if the current Venus in transit is combust, retrograde or with malefics, the mother needs to support herself and her child by reciting the Venus mantra, “Om draang dreeng draung sah Shukraya namah Om”. At least thrice or 108 times everyday. If the father or others want to support they can by reciting this version “Om draam dreem draum sah Shukraya namah Om”

Second month of 28 days – This period is ruled by Mars/Mangal. By now the cells of the fetal body have become rigid. The totipotency has been replaced by pleuripotency. The cells destined for the liver cannot re-programme themselves to become the muscle now. Thus rigidity has set in. Shape of the body is discernible. If the mother’s Mars is weak or the transit Mars is afflicted or retrograde or combust etc it is necessary to help the fetus with his energies. The mother must recite, “Om kraang kreeng kraung sah Mangalaya Namah om” thrice or 108 times, and the father will recite, “Om kraam kreem kraum sah Mangalaya Namah om” to help his wife and the growing baby.

Third month of 28days is ruled by Jupiter/Guru – this is a period of rapid expansion and the shape of the fetal body becomes more defined. The fetus becomes aware and now onwards can preceptively respond to the mother/father. Here it is necessary to provide him energies of Jupiter, depending on the Jupiter in the mother’s chart and also the position of the transit Jupiter currently if combust etc. The mother should recite, “Om graang greeng graung sah Gurave namah Om”, thrice or 108 times daily, and the others can help her and the baby by reciting, “Om graam greem graum sah Gurave namah Om”.

Fourth month of 28 days is ruled by the Sun/Surya. The baby’s intelligence expands and the divine spark helps it in establishing its soul’s energies during this period. The Vedic Sanskar of Pushban is performed during this period to help establish the energies of the Sun in the fetus. The strength of the body increases, bone and muscle structure begin to form. To help the fetus during this period and enhance the energies of the Sun available to it, the mother should recite, “Om hraang hreeng hroung sah Suryaya namah Om”, either thrice or 108 times daily. And the father and others will recite, “Om hraam hreem hroum sah Suryaya namah Om”. Especially if the mother’s Sun in the chart is badly placed or debilitated or the current transit Sun is placed with malefics, like Rahu/Ketu Saturn etc or there is to be an eclipse during this period.

Fifth month of 28 days is ruled by the Moon/Chandra here the circulatory system of the fetus is in place and his blood and blood cells start functioning, the immune system develops. A sense of emotional self is initiated. The fetus can now understand its emotions and express them too. This is a critical period in the development as the mind and emotions are taking root. The mother’s chart Moon should be examined and if in a bad position/sign/aspected or with malefics or debilitated it needs to be strengthened. If there are any eclipses during this period be very careful. Especially be careful on the amavasya/new moon day falling in this month.

Planets to help you in your Pregnancy

Sixth month of 28 days is now ruled by Saturn. The bones, nerves and supporting frame of the body gets defined, Hair and nails grow out. This period is also crucial because here the capacity for endurance of the child is being laid down. The mother can support the Saturn in building the body of her child by reciting his mantra, Om praang pring praung sah Sanishcharaya namah Om”. The father should recite Om praam prim praum sah Sanishcharaya namah Om”. This will be essential in case of badly placed Saturn in the cart of the mother or the current transiting Saturn being combust, retrograde or debilitated etc.

Seventh month of 28 days is ruled by Mercury. here the baby can now think, its nervous system and brain development has now reached a critical stage. It is clearly aware of its own fetal body and the signals which it receives from its mother and the outer environment too. It can feel. It’s intelligence and awareness has reached a significant stage and it can understand. It would be ideal if the mother recites the beej mantra, “Om braang breeng braung sah Budhaya namah Om.” either 3 times or 108 times daily and the father recites “Om braam breem braum sah Budhaya namah Om” for the growth of his unborn child’s wisdom and intelligence. Especially if the mother’s birth Mercury or the current transit Mercury is not well placed this remedy would be critical.

Eight month of 28 days is ruled by Lord of the Mother’s ascendant sign seen from her birth chart. This is a highly critical period for the mother and child, and the Vedic Sanskar of Seemantonayan is performed during this period for protection of the fetus and the mother. The mother needs to keep herself surrounded by positive vibrations and keep herself happy. If by chance the woman prematurely delivers during this period it would be disastrous. This is the period where the complete personality of the fetus is being decided. The mantra to be recited is the beej mantra of the ascendant lord seen from the mother’s birth chart.

Ninth month of 28 days is ruled by the Sun/Surya again. Here the fetus gains an understanding and control of his own body. He is well on his way of being a person. He can feel hunger and thirst. Fetal images of the fetus sucking his thumb etc are from this period onwards. It starts finalising its body structures in preparing for delivery. The mantra here is again the beej mantra of Sun/Surya to be recited by the mother and the father.

Tenth month of 28 days, is again ruled by the Moon, this is the last phase before delivery occurs. This baby’s mind and emotions are now active and it is mentally prepared for the delivery. Child’s mind becomes active and it gets ready for delivery. Recitation of the beej mantra of the Moon will help immensely during this period ensuring the safety of the mother and her child. Natural delivery will occur in this period when there is a link between the mother’s Moon sign, Mars sign and the transiting Moon and Mars positions.

Thus after this hectic activity of 280 days, the baby is born into the world as a separate individual with his its own horoscope charted out with its chosen life-events. As the mother and the father, it is our responsibility to help as much as we can, with Mantras, Intentions and Will-power on the spiritual plane. With our assets, presence and support on the physical plane and with Love and Understanding on the emotional plane. If we can do this for our child, right from its conception, we would have successfully completed our debt to the society by raising a responsible, well-adjusted individual, an asset to the society.

Planets to help you in your Pregnancy

Moon the agent of the Mind

Moon is the agent of your mind. His transits are the fastest with 2.25days per sign, quite understandable as your mind changes the fastest! Knowing your Moon in transit helps you  be more prepared for your day. Also Moon is quite susceptible to influence by other planets. And he gives quite transformative results in his signs of exaltation and debilitation. He is the ruler of the 4th sign of the zodiac, Cancer and especially individuals with cancer ascendant can be quite unusual.

In my experience, the 2 most important signs in the chart are the Ascendant and the birth Moon sign. One controls the physical body and material things and the second controls the mind and the emotional states. If I have to predict, I use 1) the birth chart with the ascendant as the first house and 2) the chart with the moon sign as the first house, side-by-side, so that I can get a balanced view of the physical conditions and the emotional states. If my client is more than 49yrs old I always consider the moon sign chart as the more important.

Each planet ‘matures’ at a particular age. Before the age of maturity the planets generally produce incomplete/immature results. By the age of 49yrs, all the planets attain ‘maturity’ and are completely developed. Thus they interact more wisely and comfortably with each other in the chart and even with naturally unfriendly planets/aspects.

A simple example; If someone loses his arm at the age of 20yrs and someone loses it at the age of 60yrs. The trauma to the body is the same but the level of mental trauma will be different because of the age and life experience. This is the domain of the moon. The events of our life always perceived through the lens of the emotions ie the moon. I always find it strange that the Moon as no planetary enemies, probably the Mind is its own Enemy?

Moon the agent of the Mind

The moon is our mind and our mind defines our self. The mind is the complex of the emotions and the thoughts. Our mind has learned and evolved over several lifetimes, every incident in each life has contributed to its making. The mind is indeed the original fathomless sea of creation, because it creates us, our personality, the way we think. Whatever we do and undo is based on the guidance of our mind. So then are we just the mind? Not really, we are something called the ‘Intelligence’. But this pure Inteligence is always coloured by the mind. Thus the efforts by seers and sages to silence the mind and access their real self uncolored by the influence of the mind. Just like a riverbed is seen clearly when the turbulence of the water flow is stilled. The turbulence is the emotions/thoughts, the water is the mind and the river bed is the Intelligence. And strangely when you see such still waters you can appreciate the beauty of the water itself.

Back to the horoscope. The Moon is the mysterious everything. Its quite difficult to really know what the moon is because it reflects! The Moon faithfully absorbs and reflects every influence falling on it. The moon aspecting or conjoint with any graha emotionally sensitises its results. Eg, Moon with Mars will make the person, very comfortable in competitions, with brotherly figures and emotionally needs to feel like a champion always.

This moon is the owner of Cancer, the 4th sign of the zodiac, thus in any horoscope irrespective of the ascendant the moon and the sign Cancer will have a subtle influence on the matters of the 4th house. The 4th house is one of the 4 houses that make up the foundation of the chart (the other 3 being the 7th, 10th and 1st).

The mind requires comfort and emotional hand-holding always, so the moon is the significator of the mother, the rhythm of the lullaby, the home, the lands/properties, the familiar customs, the homeland, all those who protect. This security however has to be felt on the emotional level. All liquids, from the sea to the blood are controlled by him. All vehicles from boats to aeroplanes are his. The moon also controls rest, sleep, deep healing, recovery, the sub-conscious, the intuition, dreams and astral planes.

The moon controls the astral body thus the karma related to the emotions remains even after death and continues on to the next life, then these emotions may be expressed as phobias. (One of my clients was extremely scared of being alone, sleeping under a low roof and generally claustrophobic, found the answer one day through guided mediation, she was given death punishment in some past life by being sealed alive inside a wall.)

The moon is the basis on which the entire horoscope has to be analysed. All the ‘past memories’  are reflected in the future. The past is not the present ‘physical reality’ but is the ‘psychological reality’. All psychological behaviour is rooted in the moon the earliest indication of which is the mother. The Moon’s influence begins right from the birth mother’s uterine fluids. eg. Moon with Rahu is hyper-charged emotional behaviour and a vivacious mother. Moon with Ketu causes emotional disinterest indicating a mother who needs her space.

Moon the agent of the Mind

The influence of the Moon on a person has to be seen from the following.

  1. the actual birth moon sign
  2. the planets conjunct or aspecting the birth moon
  3. the location of the sign cancer in the chart and the planets in or aspecting it
  4. the moon sign in the navamsha chart

Here for the first time I am talking about the divisional charts, the 9-th divisional chart/navamsha.  So to know yours. for Indian/Vedic system, for windows, “Jagannatha Hora” or “Parashar’s Light” and for iphones “Drik panchang” by developer “Adarsh apps” is be quite accurate.

The most intimate relationships for a person are with the birth mother and the wife/husband. The navamsha moon sign will determine the kind of emotional, nurturing support and comfort that a person requires from these relationships. We cannot control the interaction with the mother, but we can choose our husband/wife. So its critical that during matching horoscopes for marriage, the two charts should have some links to each others navamsha moon position. This will ensure harmonious relationship at the emotional level. Even close friends will have some connections with navamsha Moon.

To be really happy you should always be aware of the birth Moon. You should try to mould your life as per the requirements of this all important force in your horoscope. Thus you will be emotionally stable and internally comfortable in whichever physical situation you find yourself in.

The nature of life is to experience, and it is the nature of the mind to tie the emotion to the experience. The Moon aka the Mind is a complicated topic, this is one in series of posts which I will write on it.

Moon the agent of the Mind
