Marma points, Heal your body yourself.

This is one of the most secretive part of Ayurved. There are very few texts and very few of them are in public domain. There are a few Vaidya /Ayurved-acharya (Ayurvedic doctors) families in South India (mainly Tamil nadu and Kerala) and some ancient brahmin families in Uttarakhand, who have these books and techniques as family secrets. Some of these books are ancient, still on birch-wood/Bhoj-patra. The ancient Rishi-s who have written on this topic are Sushurt, Vaagbhatt and Agastya.

Marma मर्मन् is a Sanskrit word meaning, articulation, weak point, hidden weakness, sensitive spot, quick acting, vital organ, hidden, anything that requires protection and needs to be concealed. There are 108 Marma points in the human body. 108 is the ‘magic’ number of Sanatan Dharma/Hinduism!

Marma points, Heal your body yourself.

There are a quite few Marma-chikitsa centers who offer therapy on the Marma points for deep healing, inner healing, removal of blocks etc. Be careful about these centers. Marma chikitsa, ie medical treatment using the Marma points, is a very useful and highly effective way to cure several incurable body/ mind conditions. If you are sure about the credentials of your Marma chikitsa center, (you can check out where the Vaidya-s have learnt it, check past patients experiences), then you should get a therapy done. It will help immensely, it is rather like magic sometimes! They use targeted pressure using massage and specific combinations of ayurvedic oils to manipulate the Marma points. It is a very precise science, not intuition, so be careful of ‘intuitive healers’ and such. If you are not sure about the credentials of the Vaidya-s, then it is advisable to not mess with your Marma points.

These Marma points are the vulnerable points of your body. Of the 108 points, 64 are highly vulnerable, getting hit/ cut here can cause death. There are knots of naadis which carry vital energy/pran, located under these Marma points, thus their extreme sensitivity. Indian fighting techniques like Kalari (which still survives in Southern India), Marma points are used to kill. Knowledge of Marma is integral to the science of the Living Ayurved and the science of War Dhanurvidya, both.

Marma points are of 6 types depending on which parts of the body they ‘join’.

  • Mamsa मांस marma – where muscles join
  • Asthi अस्ति marma – where bones join
  • Snyau स्नायु marma – tendons join here
  • Dhamni धमनि marma – where arteries join
  • Shira सिरा marma – where veins join
  • Sandhi सन्धि marma – where the major limbs of the body join

The size of a Marma point can be variable. Some are the size of a grain of rice, while some are the size of your palm. Even if you get hit on a Marma point it causes excruciating pain as the pran/ vital energy movement in the naadi is affected severely. The three elements of the body, the tri-dosh, vaat, kapha, pitta go out of balance and the body /mind goes into shock. There may be excessive bleeding or even no bleeding as basically the naadi-s are damaged. The flow of the pran (all five types of pran), in the whole body is disturbed. This is very dangerous. Being hit on some points will be instantly fatal, some will cause crippling effects and some will cause injury, all will hurt. In some marma points, if the hurt is caused by a weapon, removal of the stuck weapon will cause death. Again, Marmas were used to kill and heal, both.

Marma points, Heal your body yourself.

Writing in details is not possible in this post, and I am not a Vaidya. (If you are seriously unwell then you need to get medical help from a proper professional).  Here are some tips on small but significant things you can do at home for your own healing using the concepts of Marma. And also remember to protect these body parts from being hit/injured.

The most important Marma point of the body is the navel. The center of your entire body. A direct hit here can be fatal. Be very careful of your navel. Put a few drops of warm coconut oil in your navel every night, very gently massage this area. Do it for 21 days and see for yourself.

(Make sure you use only edible coconut oil for all this gentle massage stuff at home. It should be clearly marked ‘edible’. No mixed oils, no mineral oils, no chemical ingredients. Massage means a very gentle rubbing, no heavy pressure. Regular gentle circular motions, that is it. These are highly sensitive points.)

The center of the forehead, the location of your third eye chakra. I still remember when in school someone clicked their fingers on my forehead. I literally saw stars and breathing was disturbed. Don’t let anyone hit you here. Don’t even let random people touch you here! Some people have this habit of hitting their forehead when they forget/remember something. Get rid of this habit, it disturbs the entire Ida/ Pingala/ Sushumna system.

Then on the head are more points. The top of the head is extremely sensitive. You can try this tiny marma chikitsa yourself, take 1-2 tablespoons of warm coconut oil and do a self massage. Very gently with your whole palm, rub the top of your head. It takes about 15mins for this much oil to be absorbed into this point. More oil the better. Highly beneficial, do it at least once a week regularly. Overall energy will increase, sense of hearing, smell sight etc will improve. (Or you can ask your family member to do it for you). Hair will also improve as a side-benefit!

Then is the mid point between the edge of the eyes and the ears, a slight hollow in the skull, both sides. If you get a headache or feel stressed out, you can gently rub these points to get relief. You must be doing this already.

Marma points, Heal your body yourself.

The throat, the center hollow in the front and the two sides of the throat. (As a kid, I remember getting hit by a brother on the center hollow, I remember breathing but no pran flowing, then blacking out). Vishuddhi chakra with its Rudra granthi, very sensitive. One should always be careful of the head, throat and the spine/back.

Then on the shoulder, the point where the bones of the arm and collarbone meet in a complicated joint. The arm-pits are also quite sensitive. Also the points where the legs join the body, the inner hollow.

The entire fleshy palm and sole are sensitive areas, especially the center of the palm/sole. The webbing between your thumb and first finger is linked to your head. The next time you have a headache, try very gently pressing this web. (This is a snyau marma point and is also in the foot). As is the center of the wrist on the inner side. Your entire body is connected to your wrists and palms, also ankles and feet. It feels relaxing to get a foot oil massage just for this reason. You can get the same benefit by taking warm coconut oil in your palms and gently rubbing them together, applying gentle pressure, wrist upwards for 15 mins. And you can ask a family member to do the same gentle rubbing with coconut oil for your feet. (And you can return the favour later!).

The midpoint of your forearm and the midpoint of your upper arm. And the midpoint of the fleshy part of your calf and midpoint of the inner sides of the thighs in your legs. You must have noticed that calves ache when you are tired, it is not muscle pain, it is this pran movement issue. If you gently rub the marma point with oil as above, it will feel better quickly.

The tip of the knee and the elbow. I am sure we all have banged our elbows and frozen in pain. Well, the excruciating pain is because it is a Marma point.

Then the chest, on the diaphragm, the central point, where the abdomen and chest join. Here lies the Anahata chakra. On the chest, the entire aureole areas. Then lower is the Manipur chakra, this is the center of your waist above the navel linked to the solar plexus. The point of Swadhisthan chakra, midway between your navel and lower end of the abdomen, this is linked to the kidneys and urinary bladder. The Muladhar chakra ie the physical anus and the reproductive organs. These last are quite sensitive areas from the nadi/ pran flow point of view, if there is a cut here, it can be fatal.

On the back, personally, I feel the entire back is sensitive as the Ida/ Pingala/  Sushumna run sort of ‘below’ the backbone. Damage to the backbone area and a couple of inches on either side of it will affect pran flow in these three main nadis.

If you want to increase the efficacy of your self-massage try these simple things

  • If you know Reiki, or any other healing energy modality, reiki your oil hands to trigger the healing energies.
  • If you have learnt to make a Chi-ball, make it and put on in your oil bottle, with all intention of healing and perfect health.
  • Draw a healing rune on the oil bottle.
  • Pray to Danvantari, the form of Shri Vishnu who is the deity of Ayurved. Recite his mantra once or just think of him with gratitude and request his help.
  • Or call on your source of faith, request help from your Higher Self.
  • Play your favourite Sanskrit Shlok/ Mantra/ Stotra in the background. Intend that this healing energy enters the oil and your body.
  • Sit in the early morning Sun while doing this. Skin and oil together in the early morning Sun will give you your daily Vitamin D supplement.
  • If you feel drawn to any flower in the Bach flower system, use its energies in your healing process.
  • Know that this will work because you are doing it for yourself.

Try some of these small things from Marma if they appeal to you. If you do them regularly with positive intentions you will help your own body and mind and be happier and healthier.

Chakras and their conscious energies

Continuing the theme from my previous post and this post is quite long.

The top of the head is the energy of the Parabrahma and the energy of self-identification, popularly called Kundalini is locked at the bottom of the spine. The entire creation is now between these two energies also called Shiva and Shakti.

All our actions are created by vibrations. The energy required to create this action is first generated in the Sushumna and the naadi system. When we speak there are vibrations but even when we think, or move our hands there are vibrations. The source of all vibrations of every type is inside the Sushumna. I had written about the deity Matrika originating in the – central Bindu, Vama, Jeystha, Raudri complex – which gives rise to all the sounds of the Sanskrit language and thus creation. Now this Matrika energy actually has 7 aspects/Sapta-Matrika named Brahmi, Maheshwari, Kaumari, Vaishnavi, Varahi, Indrani and Chamunda.

Chakras and their conscious energies

Braahmi –

This energy evolves in this topmost energy complex comes down till below the muladhar then again ascends till it is stabilised in the Sahasrara chakra. It has jurisdiction over and pervades throughout all the chakras of the body. Surya/Sun of Jyotish/astrology arises from her. The Vyhruti here is Satyam. (Vyhruti means a stage of vibrations or a defined world or a state of existence.)

She exercises her power called Yakini, i.e. she grants the experience of the ultimate truth to the aspirant and likewise during creation she closes this aspect of Yourself by limiting knowledge, your individual soul is confined to its own narrow self. She answers the question Yak? (Which?, Who?) and allows its experience. She allows you to experience your internal Sun.

Maaheshwari

This originates in the same topmost complex, spreads till the end of the Muladhar chakra, comes back up and is stable at the Ajnya chakra. She has jurisdiction from the Ajnya to Muladhar chakra. She thus does not extend from the Ajnya to Sahasrara area. She controls the subtle body/sukshma sharir. The Vyhruti here is Tapah. She give rise to the Moon/Chandra. Moon is the subconscious and the astral, the sum total of your Being in every level.

The Ajnya chakra is the one which commands (ajnya means command). It directs all movements, thoughts, everything as this is the place which allocates pran. Every action of yours, in whatever plane requires enregy/pran to power it. Maaheshwari uses her power called Hakini and directs everything. Now when the aspirant crosses this chakra on the way up he abandons (Hakini) all external activities. Now the pran is not allocated to the lower chakras, it moves upwards to open up the higher chakras and channels of the head. This Hakini is the Moon that is drawn on the forehead of every Vedic god. She illuminates the path of knowledge from the Ajnya to the Sahasrara.

Kaumari

Aakasha is the conscious space which evolves from Kaumaari. She originates at the topmost complex and similarly extends till below the Muladhar and comes back and is stable at the Vishuddhi chakra having jurisdiction from the Vishuddhi to the Muladhar chakra. The Vyhruti here is Janah. Mercury/Budha is created from her. Mercury is analytical intelligence and the boldness when you know intellectually that you are correct.

Daakini is the name of her power. She creates fear i.e. she creates ‘avidya’ during the process of creation. Avidya means unwisdom, unlearning, spiritual ignorance. She ties the individual soul in bindings of ignorance of its reality. For the spiritual aspirant however she destroys Avidya and the concepts of the organs of action and senses.

Vaishnavi

She manifests the Vayu/Air tattwa/element and is located at the Anahata chakra pervading from Anahata to the Muladhar chakra. The Vyhruti here is Mahah. She creates the planetary force called Shukra/Venus. Now her power is called Raakini. She grants happiness, illumination, prosperity and bliss. Now it is your choice which sort of happiness you are after, of the material or the spiritual? For the aspirant she grants you the quiver and the arrow to be used on your bow. Her tests will be the tests of Venus/Shukra the most pleasurable but the most difficult.

Now the bow, archer, quiver, arrow etc are oft repeated words and you will find them in every spiritual text. The Bhagwat Gita was narrated by Shri Krishna to his cousin Arjun who is an archer! In spiritual terms your spine is your bow, your kundalini/energy of self identity is your arrow and your mantra is the bowstring that you pull back on. You are aiming at your own real Self.

Chakras and their conscious energies

Vaarahi

She manifests Agni the conscious energy of fire and is located at the Manipur, pervading from here till the Muladhar. The Vyhruti here is Swah. Mangal/Mars is derived from her energy. The energy of birth and also of death are linked here. Be careful of your navel area, if you ever get hit here (e.g. boxing) it will cause damage and will cause problems in spiritual growth.

Now her power is called Laakini. She allows absorption of the energy allocated to the body. In the human physical body this Lakini allows the fires of the body to burn. This includes the digestive fire which allows the physical body to nourish itself. And it also means the spiritual fire which consumes the nectar dripping from center of the head (physically the pineal gland.). (Those yogis who can access this area through specific mudras can actively use it. It will then further the spiritual growth rather than just being burnt, it is quite fiery in nature.)

Indraani

She manifests the Aap/water mahabhoot i.e. conscious energy of fluidity and has jurisdiction over the area from the Swadhisthan to the Muladhar. The Vyhruti here is Bhuvah. The energy of Jupiter/Bruhaspati is produced from her. Her power is called Kaakini. Kaa is the eternal Question, Who?, you will be made to understand the widest scope of this question here and then tested. When you cross this chakra, you will be granted steadfastness, protection, a long and healthy life for the physical body etc. She is benevolent, gentle all pervasive, but will not give her answers, will make you work hard for them till you understand her lessons. She also protects her manifested universe, so here your resolve in leaving her fun-fair will be tested to the limits.

This chakra is called swa- adhi-sthan. (abode/base/support of the self) Here your self is fixed in the energy sense. Between the Swadhisthan and the last Muladhar the 72000 naadi which energise your body are attached. For the aspirant however, here is where you, the warrior, will sit in your chariot, with the steadfast resolve of approaching the Supreme’s abode.

Chaamundaa

She manifests the Pruthvi/earth tattva/element and is located at the Muladhar chakra. The Vyhruti here is Bhu. The Shani/Saturn energy of astrology is manifested by her. She keeps track of the karmic record you have built up and when the time is right offers you a way out. She offers to teach you the lessons which will loosen your bindings to the manifested universe. But she is quite fearsome and not every one will take her up on her offer right away.

Her energy is called Saakini. Saakini binds the Serpent Kundalini to the hexagonal Kurma-shila. She is thus responsible for the created life. If the Kundalini is detached from the kurmashila it is physical death. This is the point where the subtle energies finally manifest as the gross physical, this is the joint. This is where the pran turns into the energy of the body, and vibrations are slowed down to seem ‘matter’. If Saakini is pleased with your resolve she will unfasten the locks of the Kundalini. Your limited physical existence will be terminated as you move towards your magnificent ultimate self.

This was a very brief about the energies of the 7 Chakras and their conscious energies.

Chakras and their conscious energies

Now a bit more.

The notes/Swar of the musical scale which are also connected to the Chakras and thus a well organised music, the Raaga has the capacity to elevate the human soul.

The tattva or the mahabhoot are the 5 elements which make up the universe. The Sanskrit words are translated into earth, water, fire, air and space but it is not the gross stuff that we see with our eyes. The Pruthvi, Aap, Tej ,Vayu and Akash are the subtle seeds and are conscious energy. You can manipulate them with your intention and mantras, e.g. if you know the mantra for the pruthvi tattva you can make your gross body weightless.

The seven graha are linked to the 7 chakras but where are Rahu and Ketu? These two are produced because of the desires/apathies of the Jivatma/individual soul. They are ‘unreal’ in a very deep way. These are the bonds of karma which push/pull the energy geometry out of its perfect shape. In the heavens too they move anticlockwise, opposite in direction to the other seven. Rahu/Ketu in perpetual retrograde motion replays the experiences of your life. They operate on the psychological and inner spiritual levels.

The powers of the Sapt Matrikas, from Yakani to Sakini always challenge the spiritual aspirant. They test the resolve and the intention in every way possible. Depending on which spiritual text you are following they will take that form, e.g. if you are following the Bhagwat Gita, you will have to take on these powers as the Kaurav army and warriors from the Kurukshetra war in your Dhyan. Only when you have defeated them, will they be satisfied and grant you their blessings and boons. So focus single-pointedly on your Mantra (Om/Soham/Hamsa), your third eye chakra point and your breath. These are your weapons.

The top Parabrahma is the pull of gravity (Gurutvakarshan – pull of the Guru). The 7 planets are the Naga at every chakra, the 7 mountains which block the route, the Rahu/Ketu are the karma which cause push/pull and the energy of self-identity is locked below this axis below the kundalini. So Moksh in Jyotish terms. If you can align these 7 mountains into the perfect alignments, nullify the effect of Rahu/ Ketu the route will be prefect, the Gurutvakrshan/attraction of the Parabrahma will be irresistible and your self- identity will rise perfectly in one smooth motion.

(The descriptions are from older texts, from the description from the Narayani stuti from the Devi Mahatmya and a bit from my very limited understanding and experience.)

Chakras and their conscious energies

(There was a request for a post on the individual chakras, it took some time to frame it in simple words, but I hope this post was of help to you.)

Sleep paralysis

You are asleep, maybe dreaming and suddenly you wake up in a dark room, you cannot move your body and it feels like a heavy weight lies on your chest! You struggle and then finally you break free and you sit up in bed, gasping, your heart beating overtime. You are scared, really scared, you either search for your husband/wife sleeping next to you or you switch on the bedside lights. You are in your room, you were sleeping and now you are awake! Now you will go online and search for what could have happened to you. You see exotic terms like sleep paralysis, astral projections, near-death experiences and go wow! This is special! You get piqued enough to buy a class which will teach you to enter the other dimensions and the domains of modern-age spiritualy.

‘Sleep paralysis’ has a very simple reason. But modern scientists have not yet learnt to ‘see’ the movement of pran/vital energy in the body. Once they start ‘seeing’ the movement of pran in the body, the medicine as a profession will practically cease to exist! And the doctors will turn into seers and sages, healing with touch and energy work!

Sleep paralysis

A quick recap of the energy structure of your body. There are several energy vertices/chakras in your body, there are several thousand energy channels/naadi and there is the energy/pran. The 6 popularly known energy vertices/chakras, Muladhar, Swadhistahna, Manipur, Anahata, Vishuddhi and Ajnya are located in the thinnest energy channel/naadi called the Chitrini, which is inside the Vajrini, this is inside the Sushumna. This Sushumna runs along the spine of the body. The chakra is one end of the Sushumna is the Ajnya, between the eyebrows at the other end is the Muladhar at the coccyx. The 2 other major naadis, Pingala and Ida also run along the spine. There are other energy vertices in your head, like Sahasrara, Mulbindu, Vama, Jeyshtha, Rudri etc. The Soul/Jeevatma resides at the Kuthasth which is linked to the Ajnya chakra.

Now the source of the pran is the Universe. (Actually called Hiranyagarbha, the sum of the vital energy/Samashti समष्टि pran of the Universe.) This enters into your body through every pore of your body, also through the Sahasrara and most strongly through the breath, your nose. This pran through the breath reaches the area of the ajnya and then travels through the Ida, Pingala or Sushumna naadi whichever of the three is active. Pran moves in a downward direction and gets distributed to the entire body through the naadi network. The lower 6 chakras and their associated naadis are responsible for distributing the pran to every part of your body, the organs of sense and action. This is the movement of the pran when you are awake (Jagruti). Thus the body gets its real energy to work.

The food that we eat is not the real source of energy. The Universe offers a greater source if you are capable of taking it. Most real enlightened souls/seers/sadhus do not need to eat or drink. They can maintain their physical bodies on the energies of the Universe. If you do your sadhana/dhyan etc rigorously your food intake will reduce too. So in short, the body works only if the pran is distributed in body.

Now when you sleep/Nidra. The Jeevatma is the controller of the body-Robot. (Jeevatma is the Atma/soul + the Karmic baggage that he carries). He schedules maintenance for the Robot and also some rest time for himself. So during sleep, the pran/vital energy from the breath is diverted upwards to the chakras in the head. When you sleep, your eyeballs rotate upwards and also your tongue turns upwards in your mouth, this is the physical indication of the upward movement of pran. The body is maintained at the basic level needed for keeping it alive no more, it is now in suspension. Your body is now not alive in the sense of regular normal life, it is in suspended animation, the senses are shut down and the organs of action are shut down. Now the Controller checks out where all his Robot is damaged, and allocates pran to that part. So thus your Jeevatma targets those weak/damaged/diseased body parts and repairs them. (If you are not well, try to sleep as much as possible, this helps faster recovery.) During this period the Jeevatma also rests, it contracts itself, it withdraws to the area of the Kuthastha, ‘behind’ the Ajnya chakra and puts itself in suspended animation too.

Then as you prepare to wake up from your sleep, the Jeevatma first wakes from his rest. He again sends his energies through the Robot-body. This is the alpha brain wave state that we experience as we wake up normally. The direction of the pran is reversed, it starts moving downwards and enters the chakras and naadis of the body. Thus your organs of sense and action become active again, the Robot is animated. And in less than a minute you wake up completely.

Now you know the movement of vital energies during awake and sleep states.

Sleep paralysis

When you are doing astral travel, your astral self (it is very tiny, about the size of your thumb) moves with the Jeevatma from the Kuthasth to the astral dimensions. During this period the Jeevtama does not rest. And the pran which were supposed to be repairing the body are used up in powering the travel and work in the astral.

In sleep/Nidra, the Jeevatma, also looks up into the information stored in the sub-conscious mind, this act is seen as a dream/Swapna. Time is such a paradox! In our dreams we might live out an entire life, but the dream ‘time’ lasts for maybe 30 seconds to a minute. You may have noticed this, you see a long dream and throughout that long dream you faintly hear your alarm clock in the background. Then you wake up and your alarm is actually ringing. So however long that dream was, it was just as long as your alarm clock was ringing in the ‘time’ of the awake state.

Sleep paralysis happens like this. Your Jeevatma is looking for some information within your own sub-conscious. Thus you are dreaming, watching a soothing scene. If the information was not very palatable, scary even, the Jeevatma withdraws in a rush and ‘wakes up’. And your dream has gone haywire! The Controller has woken up from his rest. But his Robot-body is still shut-down, in suspension. This is the instant of ‘sleep paralysis’. It takes just a few seconds for the Controller to shift the movement of the pran and for it to start moving downwards and powering up your organs and body parts. But as time is relative, you feel these few seconds as endless. The weight you feel on ‘yourself’, is the weight of your own body on your Jeevatma! You are your Jeevatma, soul-self, you are light, lighter than the air. The weight of this 70kg Robot-manifested-physical body is an unbearable weight for the soul-self. A mind-bender, strange but true!

So sleep paralysis is not a problem, most of us will experience it a few times in our lifetime. But for some of us, who have bad memories buried in the sub-conscious it will happen more frequently. There are several easy ways to resolve this,

  1. Physical factors – ensure you are comfortable in bed, clean sheets, blankets etc. Sleep with your parents, children or spouse in the same bed so that there is a sense of security.
  2. Emotional factors – Talk about your problems to your best friend, spouse, parents or anyone you trust. Also trust yourself.
  3. Spiritual factors – this is to check the room for negative energies, eg ley lines. Use cleansing equipment like lemons, sea-salt, peacock feathers etc.
  4. Energy work – use methods like guided meditation and resolve your energy imbalances. Do your cleansing, grounding and shielding regularly. Listen to your intuition. Start a baby energy practice and stick to it.

So this turned out to be a post more on the movement of pran, but unless you understand how your body energies function you cannot understand more about yourself and the things happening to you. Sleep paralysis is quite a normal thing which will happen a few times to everyone. And if you do not understand you will react with fear. Do not be afraid, everything has a reason. And the sooner you understand the free-er you will be.

Learn to make a Chi ball

Chi balls are balls of energy that you can create between your palm chakras.

Our body is not biochemical but is electromagnetic. Thus there are chakras, energy vortices in our bodies. The main ones are seven located in our spinal area from our coccyx to the top of the head, from muladhar to the sahasrara chakra. But there are other minor chakras too, in the center of our palms, in the center of the foot, etc.

How to activate the palm chakras is simple if you have been initiated into Reiki. Just draw all the symbols you have been taught on both your palms, cup your palms and focus. But even if you do not know reiki it is quite possible to activate these chakras. I have mentioned how to do this in my earlier post “working with energy“.

So when you start feeling a whirring of energy in between your folded/cupped hands, slowly draw your hands apart. If the whirring stops bring them closer again. The whirring means that a ball of energy is being created within your palms. This is the chi ball. If you can see auras at this point of time you should be able to gold/silver or blue/green or pink or similar shimmery colours in between your palms now.Now to use this ball of energy. Some of the stuff I have done with the chi balls I made

  1. Made it rain. Inserting a rune “Haglaz” in the chi ball and throwing it up into the skies. It not only rained the next day but it also made tiny hailstones.
  2. Pushing a stuck project. Visualised how the finished project would be like and pushed this image into the chi ball and released it into the skies.
  3. Helped my child who had fallen ill, recover faster. Inserted all the reiki symbols I knew into the chi ball and let it be absorbed in my child’s aura.
  4. Healed a client’s past trauma. Actually this is possible with just the Reiki “Hon she zha shen” symbol but putting the intention and the symbol inside a chi ball worked even better.

So there are lots and lots of things that you can do with chi balls. Making and using chi balls is absolutely a plus in your energy healing kit.

Women are Lucky

Then read on .. this post is exclusively for you..

The way I see it, being born a woman has always been an advantage. As per Dharma a woman has to be protected by her father, brother, husband and then son. It is the Dharmic duty of the men to protect their mothers, wives, sisters, daughters. And rightly so because women have a very important responsibility i.e. to shape the society and to shape the future generations. A woman is the embodiment of the home, the Grihalaxmi, and for a very good reason. Women have the ability to give selflessly for those whom they love and this energy of their love reflects in everything that they do around the house. Even the food cooked by them carries the emotion that they had in their hearts when they were cooking it. It is an immense responsibility and they can do it with genuine love.

Womenfolk, if you decide to be grateful for this protection and love of the menfolk in your life and decide to fulfill your responsibilities in turn, you will live a better balanced life.

And in fact women run the world. In a very soft but a very firm manner.

Don’t believe me? A small example, the wife tells her husband, “I want a washing machine”, and the husband then decides which model or what specifications. See here the big decision has already been taken by her, of that to purchase a new washing machine. Now the minor decision regarding model etc is by the husband. Another example, in our traditional Indian society, it is almost always the mother who has the final word on where the daughter will be married or which girl the son will marry and bring as the daughter-in-law in the house. It is a softly wielded power, almost hidden, but it is very much there.

Leave apart these materialistic advantages, in the spiritual life too the woman has the advantage and what an advantage as compared to the man!

From the age of about 12yrs to 50yrs the monthly cycle operates. If you are spiritually inclined or can see auras, you can see the chakras/energy vertices of the body actually moving anticlockwise during these 5 days. Those who have learnt reiki or similar techniques for manipulating energy can also observe this. For the rest of the month for women (and for men all the time), the chakras are always moving in a clockwise direction. So during these 5 days if women can create a strong intention for stability or even do something as simple as regular pranayam they will immensely benefit. The negatively moving chakras in their destructive energy form can actively destroy negative thought processes, the negative behavioural patterns, negative emotional patterns. This negativity if allowed to operate in its natural course will damage the body/mind in due course. But you have the option of destroying it in these 5 days!

women are lucky

But the real push comes after menopause. Its quite well known that women who do regular dhyan or jaap or some spiritual practice regularly, or are even genuinely kind, do good work from the heart, etc menopause occurs naturally earlier, even in the late 30’s. However at whatever age the menopause occurs, after that if the woman is able to concentrate on spiritual matters her movement will be extraordinarily fast. The reason is that after menopause the influence of Moon over her reduces drastically. The moon is the mind. So the influence of the mind and all its associated vagaries stops. The mind gets more stable and can concentrate better. It is a relief because now the Consciousness that is the Real self, can exert itself without much interference. (However there are always going to be several objects to divert her attention, from daughter-in-laws to television!)

On the other hand, men are handicapped by at least one major disadvantage compared to women in spiritual matters. They have a Y chromosome, the indicator for maleness is in fact a very big responsibility. This is also linked to gotra (the ancestral lineage) and also linked to all the mantras linked to the sanskars and rites for anteyshti (cremation of the dead), pindadaans (energy/food offerings to the ancestors) and pitru tarpans (energy mantra/water offered to the ancestors). In case of any karma pending from the ancestors the males are the first hit and badly. The Y chromosome is quite fragile and to boost it, boys have to undergo a upnayan/yadnopavit sanskar at the age of 6yrs, and have to compulsorily do the gayatri puja at the three sandhyas everyday. Being a male is a very delicate and responsible position and to maintain themselves spiritually they have to continuously work more from the age of 6yrs onwards.

So womenfolk, do wake up to the fact that you are relatively better off in terms of spiritual advancement and do start on your spiritual journey.
