Amrit Sukta happens when you do Dhyan

The body is electromagnetic, the energy cores of the body are the six chakras in the spine and the 6 chakras in the head, vertices which power the system through the naadis (electrical wires!) and the electricity is called “prana“. There are 5 main types of pranic energies of which 2 are the most important. In an average human the naadi grid system, the chakra powerstations and the prana electricity itself is in a very sorry state of affairs. The primary reason for this is that we do not breathe properly. Surprised? Two reasons,

  1. Our breathing has become dependant on our emotional state, and just look at the range of emotions we go through in an average day. So breathing is highly compromised
  2. We are not aware of our breathing. It has become so mechanical that we really do not pay attention to our breathing.

Amrit Sukta happens when you do Dhyan

Breathing is just not the physical act of taking in air and then pushing out that air. Breathing is actually the action of 2 types of electricities, Prana which enters the body with energies from the universe and apan which sends out energies which are not needed from the body. If you ever learn to “see” your naadis and the prana energy moving through them you can observe the energy from the universe, first enters the body with the indrawn breath at the ajnya chakra, third eye. The seat of consciousness of at the ajnya chakra. After this the prana gets distributed throughout the body.

This brings me to my favourite sukta, Amrit Sukta from the Rig veda. This is also recited as Rudra Laghu Nyasa. Uma Mohan has recited the Rudra Laghu nyasa and Rattan Mohan Sharma has chanted just the Amrit sukta. Both renditions are exceptionally beautiful, do listen to them sometime, it touches your soul. I have listened to them both for hours and hours on a loop. It does induce a trance, a light meditative state, it is very enjoyable.

And remain within the guardian (Gopa) of the Non-death (Amrit)

This is a very inadequate translation. Devbhasha Samskritam cannot be translated into other languages, because there are no corresponding words and the real meaning of sanskrit words involves intention too. I do not translate sanskrit mantras/suktas ever, because they can never understood intellectually. These have to be felt and experienced. Still because this is the sukta which describes the movement of the energies necessary if we are to realise moksha, raise the kundalini/attain perfect knowledge, I tried to translate it.

(I use the website spokensanskrit.org for the meanings because it gives multiple meanings for the sanskrit words)

Judge a true Ascetic from the horoscope

And this movement of energy happens only when you are the Dhyan state when all the pran has been withdrawn from all the other naadis of the bodies and now moves only inside the shushumna naadi.

In this state of deep dhyan the breathing movement of the body stops, no air is exchanged. The prana directly enter the ajnya chakra/hrudaya. The ajnya chakra does not allocate this vital life force for bodily functions and organs of sense and action etc. The body may seem dead physically. This state is when samadhi can occur.

It is also interesting that when we are sleeping, the ajnya chakra sends the prana energy to the top of the head, the dashangula sthana. Deep Sleep is a highly mysterious state which our scientists are trying to map with brainwaves and stuff. If they learn to see the prana flowing along the naadis all their research will be complete.

And you can also learn to observe this high energy drama going on inside your own bodies, start by learning to see aura first, then try to observe the movements of the chakras in the palms, then the chakras and the naadis. It requires regular practice that is all.

There are so many mysteries inside your own self, so much to know and experience.

I really wonder how we humans can waste our time seeking temporary stuff on the outside when the inner world is so enormous, so extraordinary..

Sea salt as an energy tool

The sea is indeed so bountiful, it provides us with everything, from being a reservoir of water, food, wind, sea currents and anything you might think of. And for those who can see auras, the energy of the sea is very positive and healing in nature.

And that brings us to the most familiar gift from the sea right in our kitchens, sea salt. A simple process of evaporating sea water in salt pans and we get the salt. But no, we humans have managed to mess up this gift from the sea and today the cooking sea salt “refined salt” available with your grocer is devoid of energy and totally worthless for consumption. But we have been conditioned to believe that “refined”, “with added minerals”, “free flowing” and what-not is actually good. So we are stuck with our refined salt filled with anticaking agents, titanium di oxide and other unnecessary and even toxic chemicals.

I remember as a child in the 1980s, my mom would buy a kitchen salt that was slightly greyish white, crystals and would get damp in the monsoons. And it tasted not purely salty but tasty. I could suck on a crystal like it were a boiled sweet loving the taste. Then somehow refined salt made its entry in my kitchen and I forgot how sea salt really tasted like. Then a few years ago I remembered and searched my local grocers for this sea salt of my childhood. Of course I did not find it in shops, as they all sold refined salt. But then I managed to locate this “samudri” salt  (samudra is sea in Sanskrit) in a shop that sold supplies for cattle nutritional supplements. At least the cattle are getting the benefits of pure sea salt.

So now lets see what all sea salt can be used for, first obviously as a table salt and in your kitchen will add the natural salt taste to your food.

Then for cleansing the aura, do this once a week on a Saturday or a Tuesday. Use a natural crystalline sea salt for this, not ‘refined free flowing salt’.

  1. Take a fistful of sea salt in your right hand and move it around your own head in a clockwise manner seven times. Then throw the salt in the sink turn on the water and let it dissolve down the drain.
  2. If you want to soak your feet in a bucket of warm water once a week, put a fistful of seasalt in this water. Ensure that the water reaches upto your calves and do not touch your feet to each other, relax for 15 mins. Visualise all your stress draining into the water. Dispose off the water carefully in the toilet without splashing it everywhere.
  3. If you are really low, you can wrap a fistful of sea salt in a cotton kerchief and keep it under your pillow overnight. In the morning carefully wash off the kerchief under running water. Dont drop the used salt let it dissolve completely and down the drain.

As a SOS. If you are really really low. Like if you are bone tired but have to go to office. Take a fistful of seasalt wrap it carefully in a cotton kerchief, tie a few knots so that it doesn’t spill. Keep it in your pocket throughout the day and then after you are done wash it off carefully. But remember this is a SOS not a daily thing to do.

And once a week or as you feel like, mix a fistful of salt in the water you use for cleaning your house floors and and wipe them out. This will remove all the negative energy residue that gets accumulated in the house. I am reminded of one incident, one of my clients young son had an imaginary friend who looked like “chhota bhim”/a cartoon character, it was a highly high level negative entity who had “befriended” the child. My client had a very big house and the child had a personal loft in their bedroom where he would sometimes read or play alone, his personal space. When we understood what was happening, I cleaned out the house and counselled the child against talking to strange entities even if they look like his favourite cartoon. Still for the next few days the child would say that the ‘chhota bhim’ is calling him. It was strange as we had “cleaned” the house thoroughly. So we asked the mother (she really loved the child best, maternal energy is quite powerful) to wipe out the child’s personal play space, the loft with salt water. She did it and then, the entire bedroom and the house “shook”, there was an unbearable stench and the mothers arms were in pain. But it was worth it, as the child then stopped hearing the voices, life went back to normal.

So salt is a very useful item, use it often to replenish your energies and clean out your houses and auras but always with a deep intention and a heart filled with gratitude.

Food has psychic energy

For the longest time we eat food prepared by our mothers, grandmothers, wives, daughters at home. Or for the more unluckier ones food prepared by a chef or a cook in a hotel or a mess or a canteen. So we rarely get to eat food prepared by our own hands, and what a lot we miss out because of this!

Food is not just the carbohydrates, fats and proteins and assorted micronutrients. Food is energy, in every sense of the word the food we eat and the water we put into our bodies becomes a part of Us. So be very very careful on what you are putting inside you.

Indian food is predominantly vegetarian, and every vegetable is a medicine. eg turmeric, garlic etc have documented medicinal properties. So when we add turmeric to food we are actually taking a small dose of medicine with every bite.

The person who is making the food and his mindset at the time of cooking it has a very deep impact on how the food is. The mother or the wife when cooking the food for her family generally has love at the back of her mind. She knows that she is cooking for her loved ones and she understands her responsibility so her emotions of love also enter the food. Call it the aura of the food.

But perhaps an overworked cook in a commercial kitchen may be cursing his boss or the fact that he has not got a raise and these negative emotions also enter the food. Some of you may have felt this. You went to an expensive restaurant, ordered a nice dish, it even looked good but it failed to satisfy. The energy of the food was all wrong.

This is the concept behind “prasadam” which is given to devotees in temples. The food placed before the God’s moorthi during puja picks up the energy of the mantras chanted. This food even in minute quantities nourishes our souls.

In Indian kitchens even today there is a small moorthi of Goddess Annapurna so that the person cooking it remembers the Goddess while he/she works. Annapurna literally means the “one who completely satisfies the Universe with food”

But the best food that you will ever eat is the food that you cook with your own hands. It is your own energy and you know that you yourself are going to eat it. So your higher self residing within you ensures that the food prepared is the best possible for your soul. And in this world of frozen food and microwave ready food and tv dinners we are missing this privilege, of eating the food prepared with our own hands.

So do start, try to prepare at least something every day, maybe as simple as a salad or boiled rice or even tea. And to add more energy to it, listen to something that uplifts your soul. Classical music to mantras what ever makes you happy. So that your positive emotions add to the quality of your food.

(In my family dinner means a minimum of 2 vegetable dishes, one dal/curry, rice and chapatis with curd, pickles, salads etc. which I cook. One evening, I was high on Veerbhadra Dhandakam, a stotra which describes how Shiv destroyed the Yadnya of Daksh Prajapati and how Devi Sati destroyed her physical manifestation and returned to Her energy form. The energy was so intense that, every single thing I cooked that evening burnt! Since then I stick to very soothing Annapurna stotra or Vishnu Sahastranama!)

Do eat something that you yourself have prepared everyday and you will be well on your way to self healing.
