Vastu your home, the simplest and prettiest remedies

Our houses are our shelters, our homes, we live, eat, sleep and rest here. It is very important that we take care of our home so it can, in turn, take care of us. ‘Vastu’ means not just the physical house, but conscious energy and it’s flow in your house. The house takes on the energy of the place that it is in, and also the energy of the people living in it. I have written about houses in some of my earlier posts. Ley lines, one about haunted houses and how to interact with your house etc.

Vastu-shastra is the science of ‘living houses’, the energy of the house should be conducive to the people living in it, Houses built as per vastu-shastra are more full of positive energies. But today getting a house with perfect Vastu is quite impossible. I have lived in several houses in my life and every one of these had some issues. e.g one had a toilet in the north direction, had to demolish it; one had the kitchen in the north, we couldn’t eat anything prepared in this kitchen, had to demolish it and construct a new one in the south-east. But luckily I always lived in houses not apartments so could do the re-alignments. But if you live in apartments you cannot realign the rooms, you have turn to Vastu remedies.

Keeping your home neat and clean is one thing, am sure all of us do the dusting, brushing and washing up quite regularly. But there is more. Here are the simplest remedies, which you can use in your house. These are beautiful things which will be ornamental as well as help you rebalance the energy of your house.

Pyramids

These are the most popular ways to rebalance the energies of your house. I keep a small clear quartz pyramid in every room of my house, on the north or east side is best. It works by balancing the energies of the room and also amplifying them, two-in-one. I recharge them once a month, by washing them in salt water and recite the Shri sukta over them. But then I love the Shri Sukta, so use it for everything, I recite it even when I cook food. You can use any Vastu mantra or even a simple ‘Om Vastupurushaya namah’ or even play this by Uma mohan in the background in your house. Or you can use any Vedic mantra including the Gayatri mantra to recharge these pyramids. Or if you cannot for any reason recite these, make a chi-ball, think of your source of faith, express your intention for a happy and energy-filled house in your words and visualise the chi-ball being absorbed in the pyramids. This always works.

When you go to buy the pyramids, hold them in your hands for a bit, some will feel ‘right’ to you, buy those. There are various sorts of ‘energised’ pyramids available in the market, you can use these too, but they will be a bit more expensive than this single pyramid method above.

t4

Mirrors

Mirrors are a variant of the pyramids. The sides of the pyramids reflect energy in four directions, mirrors also reflect energy but in one single direction. Hang your mirrors on the east and north walls as possible. Just remember they should not reflect your bed as you sleep in it.

Sea-salt

Wipe your house with water in which a fistful of sea-salt has been dissolved, it will remove the negativity. Cleansing your house regularly will address a lot of problems associated with misaligned energies too. And if there is any specific corner of your house which feels especially misaligned, keep a glass bowl full of sea-salt crystals in that part of the house, these crystals will absorb the negativity. You can dispose them in running water and replace them once a month.

Tumbled clear quartz

I love clear quartz. It is useful for everything. If you want, you can buy a bag-full of tumbled clear quartz, will be cheaper than the pyramids. Then charge them. Make a chi-ball, focus on your intention for a happy house and visualise the chi-ball being absorbed in the crystals. Keep them in a pretty bowl in your rooms, in the north and east sides. Recharge them once a month. If you feel like you can also use pink quartz. Tumbled crystals can be used for several things so if you buy a bag-full you can use them in several ways.

vastu remedies

Peacock feathers –

These work beautifully. Have written about them in my post on ley lines. Put a bunch of these in your rooms preferably on the north and east sides if possible. Peacock feathers will get rid of evil eyes, negativity and enhance the positive flow of energy in your house.

Shri-yantra or Meru

This is the ultimate geometry and if you are doing a puja of this geometry or using it for your spiritual practice e.g. tratak, the energies of your house will be already in a very good shape. The highly positive energy of the geometry expands out. If you do puja over it sincerely, these energies are amplified even more. I have observed that the energies of my house are so relaxing that guests start feeling sleepy!

And puja of the Meru /Shri Yantra is very simple, recite the Shri-sukta once, or recite ‘Om Shridevyai namah once/thrice/108 times, and apply one tilak of red Kesar/saffron or red vermillion at its center dot/bindu. If you can blow the conch during this puja, it will be even better. I light camphor arti after the pujas and also keep a sesame oil lamp lit in front of my Meru 24×7.

t3

Plants

Indians, Hindus are required to keep a Tulasi plant in the center of the house. You can keep it in the east or north direction as an alternative. This plant is linked to Shri Vishnu, the energy which protects and maintains prosperity. It is satvic in nature and generates a very bright silvery/gold aura around it. The woman of the house takes care of it. i.e. waters it in the morning and lights a small lamp in front of it in the evening. If she does it with love and positive intentions the plant also responds by increasing its energy, thus the whole house benefits. It is another way of harnessing your intentions. As the plant grows so does prosperity. The plant is highly medicinal, especially for cough/cold, drinking a tea made of its leaves is very helpful. You can drink a spoonful of the juice of the leaves. I never give my son cough syrups, as tulasi leaves are the best and safest cure.

Fresh cut flowers are also a good way to increase the energy of your house if you can afford them.

In India, we tie a garland made of fresh mango leaves and marigold flowers on the entrance door of the house. Both these are high energy items and they stop the negative energies from entering your house in the first place. This arrangement is called a ‘toran’.

t1

Rudraksh beads

This is something which you can consider if you are suffering from negative energy as well as evil eye from others. Hang a single rudraksh bead at your front door, it will stop negative influences from entering your house. (I hang an entire rudraksh mala at my front door.)

Photos

These are a very easy way to add cheer and positivity to your house. Natural sceneries, waterfalls, flowers, bright images, colorful pictures, geometric patterns, can be hung on your north or east walls.  You can use pictures of solid things like mountains, e.g. Kailash, on your south or west walls. Do not use depressing and dark images which represent struggle, disaster and pain. Also avoid pictures of animals. If you want, you can keep pictures of departed parents/loved ones, but only on the south walls.

To keep the Vastu of your house is good shape requires not only physical alignment with the Vastu shastra, but also requires that you consciously interact with your abode. The process of of building the house and the alignment of the rooms is not in our hands, as most of us live in apartments now! But this second part where you consciously increase the energy of your house is definitely something you can do!

So here were a few easy and inexpensive ways in which you can add energy to your home.

Is energy healing really energy sharing?

I had received this question in the contact form. ‘I can see aura and I know Reiki also, so does it mean that I have to heal? When can I stop healing others?’

The simplest answer is ‘No, just because you can see auras and have learnt Reiki, you are not required to heal others. You can stop any time your Conscience tells you to stop.’

When you open yourself to re-seeing auras, as you practice with energy, you will see several things, life will be multi-dimensional. Then as you gain more confidence you will try healing yourself first then your loved ones. You will want to learn energy-healing techniques and practice them, then maybe on a commercial basis. But manipulating energy intentionally is just like travelling to a new country. You might see things which do not make sense or sometimes scare you. So be informed and be careful. Is energy healing really energy sharingHere are some things you should practice or at least give a thought to while manipulating energy.

The first is shielding always. Intend a pearly, silver/gold, shimmery shield around you always. Visualise that you are sitting in the center of a pearl. No one can ‘see’ you and as its surface is smooth and reflective no one can put in energy cords into you. It visualisation will take 5 seconds of your time. Visualise this strongly every morning and it will last for the day.

Next is a regular cleansing and grounding schedule. This is essential, but you can do this once in a week or so depending on how intensely you have been working.

Start your personal spiritual practice so that your mind remains under your control. As you continue to intentionally manipulate energy, your personal energy will also grow and the Universe will rush to fulfil your slightest wish. So controlling your thoughts and emotions is essential. Avoid emotional attachments to your clients or the things you see in the other dimensions.

Avoid intermixing your energies with others too deeply. Self-healing is ideal and then healing your loved ones is also ok. But other than this, be very selective about the clients you choose to heal, as this can transfer things between you two at the very deepest levels. This is a very important point in energy healing techniques which no one ever seems to emphasise. Do not use energy-healing for random people. Energy is not like groceries which you buy or sell! It is your personal thing. Even if the Universe gives it and you are just channeling it, it does takes up your flavour. (If I am unwell, my husband or brother send me healing, often without telling me. I can easily make out which one of them is doing it, each has his own different ‘signature’.)Is energy healing really energy sharing?Reiki is perhaps the most popular energy healing technique. Our information on Reiki comes from the students of Mikao Usui and not the man himself. In fact he used it as self-healing technique linked to the Ultimate Enlightenment and not as a stand-alone healing or commercial healing on others. Here are some things which I have experienced with Reiki.

Best is to avoid hands-on healing on the client. You do not know what may adhere from his aura into yours. If I have to heal, I put the symbols in a glass of water and give it to him to drink. Then I ‘program’ a tumbled clear quartz crystal with the Reiki symbols. I ‘put’ all the symbols with ‘hon sha zhe sho nen’ in the crystal and programme it to keep on triggering the healing process. This programming stays for about 15 days easily. The person can keep it within his aura field, i.e. in his pocket, and the symbols will do the healing. This way I do not need to interact with his personal energies directly. Being impersonal with clients on the energy-level is essential.

If I need to do hands-on Reiki healing on others, (very rarely only if it is a baby or an invalid), I do not do it for more than 5 mins at a stretch and I never touch. I keep the palms a few centimetres away from the client’s skin in his aura. And after 5mins, the higher self starts sharing the personal energy instead of Reiki/universal energy. The ‘flavour’ of the energy flowing changes. And in this 5 mins rather than plain ‘healing’, do this. Link up all the symbols with ‘hon sha zhe sho nen’ and programme it to keep triggering the healing for 15 days. So the effect lasts for more days and your exposure to the client’s energy remains minimal. And remember to cut off the aura cords very firmly using ‘cho ku re’.

Then when you do Reiki initiation on others, you are deeply interacting with the student’s aura. It is an extraordinarily personal interaction as you actually ‘open’ the aura of the student and insert the symbols in his energy vertices/chakra. I choose my students very carefully as I do not wish to work so closely with random people. And if you too want to get initiated into Reiki, choose your teacher very very carefully. Use your intuition and gut-feel before you finalise. There are so many certified teachers out there who do not have a real understanding of the process. This initiation is a permanent change in your personal energy structure. And there are several things that the teacher has to understand and be aware of, during this process, for it to be successful. Commercialism has caught up with energy, you have so many different energy techniques available in the market. Reiki itself comes in several variants! Do not get initiated into too many of these techniques. In these energy techniques, the symbols/trigger words are inserted into your energy body. Too many initiations are unnecessary and can mess up the body’s energy flow. Stick to one and use it deeply. Is energy healing really energy sharing? And you must know that accessing Universal energy does not need Reiki or any formal initiation. I had earlier written about how be aware and conscious of this energy flow. Try it out, it is something very simple, that we all can do. We are all natural healers and we can heal ourselves easily. Just believe in your own self.

There is another restriction, which in this modern permissive age may sound ludicrous. If you get into intimate physical relations with people randomly, you will drain your energy. Physical intimacy is always exchange of energy, the more intimate the stronger the exchange. If you get intimate with someone of lower energy levels, he/she will subconsciously ‘use’ you as a recharge battery. Choose your partner carefully and remain exclusive.

Reiki or other similar initiations are like ‘short-cuts’, they open up several energy things for you very fast. For any technique which channelises energy from the Universe, the energy structure of the person should be ‘clean’, there should be no energy blocks in him. All the energy channels should be open and through else these blocks will later erupt as major problems. E.g. If the flow is blocked and you increase the supply, the force will eventually tear the blockage apart and also damage the channel. (This does happen, on minor level, it is called as the ‘healing crisis.’)

By now I hope I haven’t turned you off manipulating energy. But these are a few things which no one really talks about. If you are learning to drive a bike, you wouldn’t get on without your helmet, would you? Learn to sense, then manipulate and use your energy. It is your personal thing, exclusive. You might think this to be selfish perhaps, but on the energy and spiritual levels you are responsible only for yourself. You are required to heal only yourself. You are not required to heal others, yes teach them to do their own healing if you feel like and do encourage them as per your conscience.

Wishing you health and happiness in your path to Yourself!

Spare the rod and spoil the child? Really?

I really wish everyone learns to see auras, its easier than learning to analyse horoscopes.

A small (perhaps) incident. A few years ago.

One of my clients had a small 3yr old son, cute, behaviour was as per his age, no big problems, no tantrums. My client had married against the wishes of his mother. Naturally she disliked his wife. And whenever she would come over to stay at his house, his son would misbehave, screaming, crying, out of control behaviour, very agitated. Then the MIL would scold her DIL saying ‘you are not a good mother’!

I had gone to meet up with his mother, a social call. The child was misbehaving terribly, screaming at his mother, and rather than coming to meet me as ‘Auntie!’, he came and spat on me. His dad was furious and was going to beat him.

But the reality was something very very different. The child was not being rude, he just was agitated beyond control. See, the child would play with his grandmom, she would give him his food, take care of him, sleep next to him in the afternoon etc while his parents went to work. A doting grandmom, no issues at all, she actually loved him. But her aura was still so full of anger at her son and her DIL for getting married against her wishes. The auras of the three were actually fighting. The client and the DIL were not aware of this, were just generally uneasy around her. Whenever they got within 2 feet of each other, the auras would send out flares of rage and all sorts of negative stuff! (sometimes auras are really not pleasant to see).

The MIL’s illogical rage and frustration had spoilt the energy of the house. And the poor child was caught in this wild storm of negative auras! The MIL was being with him, taking care of him but unconsciously passing on her feelings through auras! And children are most sensitive to the astral, subconscious etc! No wonder he was misbehaving, he had gone mad with all the aura-conflicts around him.childJust look at the kind of energies we are exposing our children to! The television is garbage, movies are full of negative stuff. We give them mobiles and the internet which spoils their eyes and expose them to age-inappropriate ideas and behaviour. The schools they go to, what kind of education do they get there? Overstressed with school-work and home-work! And the quality of education has also dropped. The food we give them is full of pesticides. The houses we keep them in are cramped, we cut them off from nature. Our cities are full of sound, which tears into their auras. There are just so many things going wrong.

And then us. We are exposing our children to our energies. I wish everyone looks into their own aura sometime. Frustration, tiredness, fear, negativity in our auras, our children are drinking it all in! We don’t give them time. We don’t enjoy their company! Most children are living a life of trauma caused by the intense negativity around them. Hitting them would be the worst thing that anyone can do!

A lot of these problems with children can be resolved if we add pran/vital energy to their energy-starved lives. Sitting in the early morning sunlight, massage by ayurvedic oils, fresh fruits/salads in the diet, listening to Sanskrit high energy mantra. Going for day visits or vacations in places of natural energy, seaside, forests etc where the air is rich in pran (Pine forests have the highest pran levels). Performing the Agnihotra is compulsory for all Hindus, its vibhuti is very high energy. (My son eats it all the instant the homa cools down, but if I have been distracted during the homa, he also points out that the vibhuti’s energy was low).

And the most important, if it is a boy-child, Upanayan/Yadnopavit must be performed at the age of 6yrs. And he should be encouraged to do regular Gayatri mantra puja. For a girl child, she does not need to wear the yadnopavit sutra, on her 6th birthday she should be taught the Gayatri and she should also do Gayatri puja, at least recite it (27 or 54 or 108 times) every day in the morning and evening. Gayatri is the right of every human. It increases the mental stability and intelligence and is the most valuable gift you can give him/her, the foundation of his/her life-time’s spiritual practice. And the parents too, recite the Gayatri along with the child, give yourself these 10 mins in the morning and the evening, your own personal energy quality will improve. (When the age of 7yrs is complete, the chakras of the child stop being so receptive to external influences.)

Why would a child misbehave? It is not normal behaviour, it is a response to something going wrong with him. Find out what is going wrong and change it for the better, this is the parent’s responsibility. Children represent the ‘creativity’ and divine intelligence of the parents in every way possible.

I can never condone hitting a child. Scolding is one thing, but physically hitting or verbally abusing cannot be justified. Maybe I am too idealistic, but we are adults, so should be wiser, more analytical and more understanding? Children copy us. And because we are human too, if we do lash out in anger, we should be sensible enough to make up and reassure the child before it causes a permanent negative impact on his psyche. (I have seen several of my grown-up clients carrying childhood scars of negligent parents, it is very difficult to resolve them later in life.)

childAnd yes, there are children who are neglected by their parents, perhaps beaten up or abandoned or put in hostels and orphanages. There are several combinations which show neglect by the father and by the mother. The astrological combinations would be related to the 4th house/ruler or 10th house/ruler or the Sun or the Moon being damaged by malefics in the child’s chart. If it is physical hurt then the birth chart D-1 will show the damage and if the torture is more emotional, the chart seen from the birth moon’s sign will have the indications.

If small children are misbehaving, first analyse the behaviour of the parents and the child’s environment. From the astrological point of view the Dasha of the child and the parents should also be analysed. (Gandant nakshatra births often go through a difficult childhood.)

If grown ups abuse and neglect their parents, then such parents would have a damaged 5th house/ruler and from what examples I have seen, their own Sun /Moon and 9th house/ruler would be afflicted too. And their own charts would show combinations of parental neglect during childhood.

But all things considered, a child is precious. We all may not be able to afford a lot of things for our children but two things we can do. One is to hug the child, tell him/her that he is the most loved one in the Universe, really mean it (remember he can see auras better than you). And the second is to gift him with ‘faith’ (spiritual practice, Gayatri), let him know that someone is always there, looking out for him. This brings in Hope, the ability to withstand the challenges that life is going to throw at him.

And my client’s child? He went back to his usual sweet self after his grandmom went back to her own house after staying for 1 month. The next time I saw him, he sat on my lap and showed me a drawing he had made.

child(This post was in response to this comment I received in the comments form. “I have seen small children in my area hitting their parents with lot of angst and the parents stand helplessly. Are there any combinations of children physically abusing parents no matter what their age. I happened to read an article by E Sreedharan -“Metro Man” talking about parenting. He mentioned that children from the age of 4 should be disciplined with corporal punishment. He believes in “Spare the rod and spoil the child”. What is your take on this…..”)

Birth – Death – Rebirth

The combinations related to physical death occur 2/3 times in a lifetime. If the soul is unhappy about the direction its life has taken, it can exit at these points. If the chart points to death at childhood or middle age, then there are mantra/pujas etc done to reduce the possibility of this happening. But when this combination occurs at old age then the soul will want to leave the aged and failing body. By this time, if it has chosen some disease to go through, this also will occur. birth death rebirthNow a seriously ill person, whether its symptoms are visible or not, will have an overall greyish and very thin aura. He might feel tired and easily exhausted in this stage. Especially so if it is within 6 months of the death. If he sits close but not touching, you won’t ‘feel’ his presence, he will ‘feel’ insubstantial, there will be no ‘heat‘ radiating from him. The organs which are being damaged will be an angry red color or grey or brown/black depending on how far they are damaged. But I would not advise you to ‘see’ so deeply into an ill person. Energy links and cords are created in an instant and they will be dangerous for you.

This ill person needs more pran/vital energy to improve the quality of his life. He will benefit by sitting in the early morning sunlight, massage by ayurvedic oils, fresh fruits (not contaminated by pesticides) etc can be added to the diet, listening, reading and reciting Sanskrit high energy mantra like Gayatri mantra or Mahamryutunjai mantra or Vishnusahastranam, would be good. Performing yadnyas/homa intended to help him and using the vibhuti will also add pran to him. Healing methods like self-reiki, using crystal grids etc will also help. If possible he can shift to a place with natural energy, seaside forests etc where the air is rich in pran. If he can do some spiritual practice too on his own it will magnify all the healing being done on him. (This would be in addition to the medical advice.) This may or may not change the time of death but will improve the quality of life till then. The more pran you flood your body with the more healthy you will be.

The current age we live in is extremely polluted in several ways. The food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe in our cities has very little amount of pran/vital energy. Even the clothes we wear are not natural, but  made of artificial fibres of non-compatible energy. We have stopped wearing leather shoes, we don’t go about barefoot, we do not ‘ground‘ ourselves. We don’t give time to ourselves, we don’t relax our brains, we don’t still our thoughts. Our temples are in ruins (successive invaders destroyed them and remaining ones are still being desecrated), there are no public yadnyas to purify the atmosphere around us. We don’t even have a small puja ghar in our modern houses and neither do we light a daily lamp/aarti in gratitude. We are insatiable in our pursuit of material fulfilment. (Perhaps, this same uncontrolled unregulated headlong rush, without a thought to consequences, is reflected in the behaviour of the cells causing cancer.)birth death rebirthIt is a fact of life that birth, death and rebirth will occur. We are all here to enjoy the entertainments created by Devi for us. In this we forget our real nature. But deep inside we know that we are missing something essential, we search for it. Some start their spiritual practices, think of balancing karma, and then achieve realisation/Moksh. Others search for satisfaction in the external material and repeat birth-death-rebirth.

When you arrive on this Martyalok, you choose the time, place and conditions of exit at that same instant. So to worry about parents, husband/wife, children, close relatives or even your personal exit is really not very productive. When you worry, you direct the energy of your thought in a negative direction. Instead try to reinforce positive thoughts and affirmations for yourself and your loved ones. Focus on what you decided on, do the best actions you can as per your conscience.

Birth and death are the two important moments in a person’s life. That is why we have a period called naatak (12 days after birth of new baby) and sutak (13 days after physical death of a close relative). In these periods, the boundaries of the two dimensions (Martyalok and Pitrulok) merge. The soul is transitioning and thus has access to energies from both these dimensions and other souls from the Pitrulok are also there to help it. You will also be helping by doing the pujas/mantra etc. This period belongs to the soul who is transitioning. I have closely seen several births and physical deaths in my family. If the family is composed and performs the rituals/mantra etc, it is easier for the soul. Unnecessarily mourning and creating tensions at this delicate period disturbs the soul which later will create problems.

I had written about a young woman’s death, she left behind a baby and a husband. The soul was promised by the family that the baby would be cared for and it left completely. And the baby is really being looked after very well. But her husband refuses to give away her clothes, keeps her photograph, thinks of her, grieves. And the emotional cord became so intense that the soul has been forced to come back. It is there in the house, quite cross about being called back. It tells my brother, who can see it, to convince the husband and that it is already looking forward to its next life. But her husband won’t listen and thus both her and his evolution has been blocked. And this is the real tragedy.birth death rebirthBut then Jyotish is so beautiful, so balanced. Combinations indicating exit from the physical body occur with time in planetary transist/ dashas and your chart prepares you for the break. If your close relatives are to exit, the combinations in your chart prepare your mindset subconsciously for separation with them. If you yourself are to exit, even then the chart prepares you internally for your break with the material. If you let ‘time’ guide you and not get emotional about it, you can actually appreciate the power that time/’Kaal’ has. The power of separation created by your own self is so powerful. So worrying about future separations from your loved ones or your physical self is not necessary.

The present life we live is just one stage in several many stages. The soul who is your mother may have been your neighbour, or your tailor could have been your daughter in some past life! We are all so busy being a father/mother, husband/wife, son/daughter that we never think of who we really are. So many thoughts in our minds, our minds working frantically every instant! Extended worry or grief or depression is not a normal human emotion. We are all made for happiness. Feel the happiness in everything you do. Those moments which you spend with your loved ones, cherish them, enjoy the present happiness that you have. Go for vacations in nature. If possible, develop a relationship with yourself, do some small regular spiritual practice.

And always remember your real nature is happiness. Be happy!

birth death rebirth

The simplest spiritual practice.

I have written a lot on spiritual practices, from Dhyan, Pranayam, simple Tratak to easy lifestyle changes which will go in very deep. But someone in the contact form wanted me to write on the simplest possible spiritual exercise. So here it is, Maun/Silence.silenceOur ancients have practiced Maun/Silence and even today spiritual seekers often go silent for days on end. My brother stays silent for minimum 3 days at a stretch once in a while to recoup his energies. Maun is the easiest thing which everyone can practice. It is very easy, you just do not speak anything at all. If you can stay completely silent for one day of the week, it would be a huge achievement. It is easy, nothing esoteric, just stay silent for one day out of the seven, every week. You can do this on your weekly holiday. It is nothing special, you will do all your regular activities as you do them, but do not speak, under any circumstance do not utter a word. You can write notes to communicate.

Do you have any conception on how much energy you waste when you speak?

Speech is not just sound from your lips, it has very deep linkages with your energy body. I had written about the creation of the seed of sound, the way each Akshar links to your energy body in my previous posts. The three chakras in your head around the Bindu at the top of your head are called Vama, Jeyshta and Rudri but they are also the creation of sound. Sound in Sanatan-Dharma/Hinduism, is Shabda-Brahma, the vibrations of the Ultimate reality itself. The central Bindu is the seed of sound called Para-vak, the next three phases of sound called Pashyanti, Madhyama and Vaikari, these are linked to these 3 chakras set in a triangle in your head.

Para-vak is pure One-ness, it has no form nor definition, it exists at the top Bindu of the Shri chakra. It is the state of Ultimate realisation, the seed form with all possible potential. Next is Pashyanti where the energy is lowered and differentiated. Pashyanti can be understood as the faintest glimmerings of an idea, the thought, the feeling/Bhava. Then is the Madhyama phase, here we know what it is that we are going to speak, we have the clear formed intention and sequence of ideas ready. Finally is the lowest energy version of all this, Vaikhari, the actual uttered words which come out of your lips. And of course when you utter the words you are drawing on your body’s individual chakras to power them.

If you can control the Vaikhari portion of this sequence, gradually you will retrace this sequence till you achieve Para-vak, the Ultimate realization. This process will not happen in one day, it will take its time and with routine practice, one day a week. Initially you will just maintain complete silence for a day. Over a few months you will realise that you are overall speaking less words, but whatever you speak has increased in intensity. Be careful after this phase starts as you can actually bless or curse with your words. Later you will realise that on your weekly silent day your mind has started becoming still, no thoughts seem to rise in your mind. Enjoy this when it happens, it will lead you to more things within yourself.

Closely followed by Maun/Silence is another simple practice, if you can do it. Do not touch anyone else for this one day of the week. Touching another living being transfers energy. If you are doing your spiritual practice, and you keep on touching others, this will make your higher self give away your energy out of Kindness. The more you isolate your aura, and do not allow it to mingle with persons of lower energy levels than yours, the faster you will progress. And there are lots of lower energy living beings around you as very few people do regular spiritual practice. The real Yogis would stay in isolation for just this reason.

So if you do both together, Silence + No touching others, together for one day a week, its effects on your energy body will be enhanced.

(And am writing this because I have done this myself. I went through a rather curious phase in life for a few years. I was living alone in a rather remote place, doing my job which had 2 days off per week. So practiced Maun/silence on these 2 days. Then we Indians don’t shake hands, don’t hug or anything like that, and most of my work colleagues were men, so despite regularly working in my organisation I was not required to touch anyone for extended periods. And I always observe my internal energies very closely. Not touching others for upto 3-4 months at a stretch, coupled with the weekly silence sessions was energy-wise awesome.)

Spiritual realisation an inherent part of yourself, you do not have to go anywhere to realise yourself. It is natural, effortless and easy, and a part of you. When you practice Maun, you are telling your innermost self that you don’t have to do anything, just Be.

Of Evil eyes and Children

All of us have auras which are extensions of our personalities. Auras do a lot of things including protecting us. Aura is the biological energy of the body. Similarly our thoughts also have energy. All such energies generated by a conscious living being is something like a ‘bio-energy’.

When someone looks at a sweet-looking child with wishful eyes it is said to be an ‘evil eye’ on the child, and the child might actually suffer. That person may be childless so might be longing for a child herself, or may just be watching the child very intently, or may be just casually watching with a penetrating gaze, no ill will for the child as such. Her subconscious mind thinks, ‘I wish I had such a lovely child’, ‘Such a sweet child, I wish he were my child’, etc. These subtle thoughts are not deliberate or malignant, they are just subconscious ‘longing’.

What is ‘evil eye’ really? It is basically a minor version of a psychic attack. Now a child is small with very little defence mechanisms in his aura and the energy link created by the adult’s gaze is so strong that it is a shock for his energy body. A large chunk of energy gets pulled out of his aura and he feels the energy shock followed by a physical illness.evil eyeStaring with intense longing attracts the person who is being looked at, irrespective of age. If your husband is going away for a few days and you bid him bye with penetrating wishful eyes, he is also going to feel uncomfortable for a while as he travels.

In India, small children are intentionally protected from the ‘evil eye’. The mother puts a dot of her kajal/kohl behind the child’s left ear, or left side of the forehead. She thus creates an energy-link supporting her child. Tying black threads or amulets around the child’s neck is also a common way of protection. Children are kept presentable, not heavily dressed up so that random people stare. Small children are not taken out on days when there is thunder and lightening in the sky, on such days the atmosphere is charged with electricity and the body can lose some of its bio-energy. Babies, until the ritual of Annaprashan (eating the first food other than milk), are cuddled only by their parents and close relatives. Children less than 1yr of age are generally not taken out in public gatherings etc where random strangers can see or touch them. Most adults here do not kiss or cuddle babies from other families as a matter of tradition.

Here we also do not let our young children sleep alone. Sleep is not ‘shut-down’, it a state of existence where there exist different energies and dangers. The child always sleeps next to his mother so that while sleeping her bio-energy supports him. She is the only one who gives to her child, even subconsciously she will only give, never take. In some modern Indian houses, I have observed the parents send the child to sleep with the grandparents rather than keeping him with them at night. This causes a very different problem for the child, it is strange and rather difficult to understand but this happens. The older person has a very strong bioenergy field and subconsciously drains the vitality of the child. The grandparents love the child dearly, but the subconscious reality while sleeping is different. Children have very weak defences and a thinner bio-energy shield so are very vulnerable, so might even fall ill. It is something like a tree, an older tree has greater capacity to draw nourishment compared to a young sapling. And if you have observed, small saplings do not grow in the shade of older trees.

Where I live now, the local tradition is that the husband is generally 10yr or so older than the wife. I have attended a few local weddings where the rosy cheeked young women looking so very pretty and within a year of the marriage they age, often with some illness. Conversely, the husbands seem to glow with health after the marriage. The reason is the same. After marriage when these women engage in physical activity and also sleep next to their much older husbands, their bio-vitality is being drawn off by them. So marry someone around your own age, too much of an age gap is not advisable. In some cultures there is a system where a man marries several women younger to him. If you are observant you might see that the man is glowing with health while his wives seem weak and ill. The bio-energy reason is the same. evil eyeBack to children. We do not allow children near places of negative energy. Places like hospitals, sites of tragedy, ancient wars, or violence, or a house where someone has died, cemeteries etc. The imprint of these negative events in these places is enough to cause a bio-shock to the energy of the child. A small child is neither completely aware nor unaware of things. He still carries with him the impressions of his immediate past life as these have not yet been wiped off and neither has he gained sufficient new experiences of this life. He is also willing to learn in every way. He does not have the will to resist impressions from people and environments yet. So his personality will be moulded as per the environment he lives in and the people he interacts with. So protect your small children.

Another problem is that parents think that their baby is unable to understand things, so often get physical with each other with the small child sleeping near them. But the child has fully functional ‘extra-senses’, and his aura shield is also weak and thin. So the energy of the physical act is pulled deeply into the subconscious of the child which causes great damage and will affect his behaviour as he gets older.

When two people meet, who will influence the other? It is like a fight at the bio-energy level. The one who has the greater bio-energy wins. We are electromagnetic beings and we all interact at levels much deeper than what can be sensed by our limited 5 senses. We all love our children, and it is our responsibility to protect them while they are young and vulnerable to ‘evil eye’.

Mantra is not a prayer

For how long can you play a game?

The Devi pervades everything. First we experience her energy, then she guides us onward to Ourself. The ‘Mother Goddess’ has been worshipped in all faiths in some form or the other. (Again we are talking about energy, so the gender related words are meaningless, the simplest reason is ‘still’ energies are referred to as ‘masculine’ and energies ‘in motion’ are ‘feminine’. There are other reasons too, but this much is ok for now.)

The energy geometry, the mantras, the everything is created by a Ray of Light of the Devi. You follow this ray back to her. Whatever you do will lead you to her. Even your emotions, your longing! When you reach the extreme limit of any emotion you find the Ultimate. Extreme ecstasy and also extreme grief (e.g. Kunti in Mahabharat) will lead you to the Ultimate. In the Mahabharat war, the Kaurav princes all died on the battlefield, they displayed ultimate valour. They died in a battle for Dharm (i.e. their deepest conscience approved), the focus on Dharm was so strong that ‘body’ and ‘death‘ lost meaning. They got the Ultimate experience of valour, thus their veergati (movement due to valour) led to Moksh.

What is death? From an energy point of view it is leaving the physical body through any of the available energy channels/naadi. Moksh is when you leave the physical body through the highest high tension energy channel/the Brahmanaadi within the Sushumna.light.jpgYou choose your life path (this can be an emotion) and you continue along it taking in the experiences. At one point you realise that there is nothing more you can experience in this path. You are Satisfied, thus you are Free. You transcend.

The Devi has created you and she is your mother. There is a saying in Sanskrit (Devbhasha Samskritam) which means the ‘Mother is the first Guru‘. In the mundane sense of course our mothers are our first teachers, but a teacher is called ‘Adhyapak’ not ‘Guru’. The one who gives spiritual wisdom is Guru. The Devi is our Guru, inspiring us towards the Ultimate.

When you think of the Devi, perhaps you visualise a woman wearing a sari, wearing lots of jewellery and holding weapons in her hands. This is good enough for those who have just stepped into this school of spirituality. But if you have reached middle school, you have to come out of this superficial external appearance. Think in terms of geometry and energy and see the way your mind realigns itself.

Do this tiny experiment. When you are very relaxed, sit with your neck and back straight. Keep the room dark or wear an eye mask if you are out in nature. Focus into your third eye. Breathe slowly for a few minutes and relax some more. Then gently ask yourself how do I really look like? The answer you get from Yourself just might surprise you!

A way to gauge your spiritual progress. Sit comfortably in pitch dark, back and neck straight, in silence alone. (if you cannot sit, lie down then in the Shavasan, just keep your back and neck as straight as possible). There should not be disturbances around you. Close your eyes and focus into your third eye for a few minutes. Observe what you see, perhaps reddish color or multicolored clouds or a mix of 1-2 colours or one single color? Do you know what you would see if you were doing your practice regularly? Just a sparkly bright white color throughout your vision field always. Surprised? lightI had written earlier on how your naadi and chakra energy self is created and maintained. Subtle seeds of Vibration manifested in the physical world as sound. So let’s start with sound first, increase its intensity, experience the Vibration, then onto Intention and then Reality. Do your spiritual practice regularly for just 6 months and observe the colors in your closed eyes again, you will see for yourself.

Mantras are Sanskrit, this language ‘defines Light’ (Dev Bhasha) in the most perfect way (Sams-krutam). Light here means the Creative force of the Ultimate. To know the Ultimate you have to know its Creative force first. Just as to know the Lamp, first you need to experience its Light.

Mantra is not a prayer. Mantra is an aspect of the energy of creation. If you do not understand this, the mantra you recite will never give its full result. Mantra is not a prayer, it is an aspect of Yourself. When you recite it, repeat it, you are entraining your lower self. You are making your lower self resonate with an aspect of your own Divinity. You are setting your own geometry right. Experiencing a ray of your own Light.

So how to increase the potency of the mantra you are using. Do your mantra jaap in your mind, focussing on your third eye chakra. In this mental recitation of the mantra, the energy of the mantra directly links into your energy self and creates subtle vibrations along it.

Use the mantra Om or Soham or Hamsa for your Dhyan (detailed post here)

(Technical stuff – I had written earlier about creation from Vibrations. Parabrahma – Devi – Naada (of two types – Nadant and Nirodhini) – Om – Bindu – Vama/Jeyshtha/Raudri – Sapt-Matrika – 16 Kala – the vowels and consonants of the Sanskrit language. This is sequence in which creation goes down the energy ladder. When you recite the mantra mentally, the Nirodhini component of Naada is then linked to it, you are one step closer to Reality.)

So how long will you play this Game? You decide for yourself and once you have experienced it all, you transcend it and you come Home.

lightNo one can make new mantras in this age! If you get hear a ‘new’ mantra discovered by some new-age ‘Guru’ do not use it, it will damage.

A colleague of mine, a reiki teacher herself, was ‘doing’ a new mantra from a hi-if fashionable ‘Guru’ in Delhi. Apparently it was for increasing wealth. When I met her, her entire energy body was trembling with the imbalance, I could not have the tea she made, but could eat the snacks her cook had prepared! She surprise hugged me as I left, and it was a psychic vampire thing, she drained me of my energy in one shot, she transferred her ‘black energy of imbalance’ to me. Her body was desperately requesting positive energy and I guess my higher self gave it. Then as I sat in my car, I started shivering, crying, my body went cold, the aura scattered and the driver was staring. Luckily my brother was with me so he immediately cleaned up my aura and stabilized me. After that he called her up, she apologized and everything.

And I learnt all over again to not touch or hug other people!

So do not experiment with new mantra. Stick with Om/Soham/Hamsa for doing your Dhyan/spiritual practice or a mantra described by the ancient seers/Rishi for doing jaap.)
