Saturn retrograde Capricorn sign Shravan nakshatra 2021

Saturn goes retrograde on 23rd May 2021 and then forwards on 11th Oct 2021. He will be stationary or stambhit for about 5 days before changing his apparent direction. He will remain in Shravan nakshatra and Capricorn sign this entire time.

The current year Shri Plava naam samvatsara is overall a rough period for the world. The major reason for this is Saturn in Shravan nakshatra, a highly karmic position which invariably causes pain, suffering and turmoil in the world. Everyone is affected in some way or the other during this transit which continues for about 13 months and repeats every 30yrs. If you study past events when Saturn transits in Capricorn sign as a whole, things generally and personally are always turbulent. This transit over the sign takes about 2.5yrs on an average, so has the potential to mess up a lot of things. Now Saturn is poised to go retrograde in Shravan nakshatra, his effects will intensify and also take more time to get over with.

www

Let’s briefly note the movements of other planets during these 4-5 months. Whenever these transit though Cancer, they will mutually aspect with Saturn in Capricorn. Mars, Venus, Sun and Mercury will briefly mutually aspect Saturn modifying his results. You will have to factor these short term transits for any precise predictions you may need to make. (Unfortunately in the current scenario, most questions are about health of family and friends. Refer to the Shatpanchashikha for these Prashna analysis.)

  • Mars in Cancer – 2nd June – 20th July
  • Venus in Cancer – 22nd June – 17th July
  • Sun in Cancer – 16th July – 17th Aug
  • Mercury in Cancer – 25th July – 9th Aug
  • Moon will be aspected by Saturn whenever he transits through Cancer, Libra and Pisces.

Jupiter will go retrograde from 20th Jun to 18th Oct, I have written about the possible results for this in an earlier post. Mercury will be retrograde 30th May- 23rd June and 27th Sept – 18th Oct, predictions for this are also covered in this earlier post.

Rahu Ketu transit in Taurus and Scorpio will continue here for this entire year (this post.) But they will go stationary and turn forwards around the eclipses. There will be two major eclipses which will affect the environment and the people living where these events can be seen. A total Lunar eclipse on 26th May and a total Solar eclipse on 10th June.

Generally for Saturn, if his direct transit is favourable for your birth Moon sign then during his retrograde motion things will slow down but they will not go unfavourable. The only 3 birth Moon signs currently experiencing positive effects from Saturn are Leo, Scorpio and Pisces. These people will feel a reduction in positivity but will be able to better manage things than the other birth Moon signs.

If Saturn direct is unfavourable for your birth Moon sign then sometimes in his retrograde he may ease off, give you 4-5 months to relax and get your life back in shape. But sometimes he can aggravate the issues he has created, so best be alert.

www

First the effects of Saturn retrograde in Shravan nakshatra and Capricorn sign on the general levels.

The COVID 19 pandemic and more importantly its after-effects will continue. So keep doing all you can to improve your personal immunity and take adequate precautions. I have written earlier also that this trouble will start easing when Jupiter enters Poorvabhadrapada nakshatra and hopefully after he enters his own Pisces in 2022 we all will be able to start healing our lives. For India, we will face the brunt until Rahu remains in Rohini ie till Sept-end. Rohini and Shravan nakshatra both are linked to the Moon. So, not only India, but all those nations who are going through Dasha periods connected to Moon or Saturn now, or have Moon or Saturn in critical transits in their mundane charts will have a worse time than the rest. We all must be alert until Rahu continues in Rohini. (I hope Rahu in Krutika 4th pada starts giving some relief at least, it is a pushkar navamsha. If we can use this window of opportunity, we can better continue the recovery when Jupiter enters Poorvabhadrapada in Jan 2022.) For public health, generally, during this Saturn’s retrograde, the time when Mars Saturn mutually aspect will cause more damage to people already suffering from blood related diseases. Younger people can be more susceptible. Risky treatment methods may be adopted. When Venus will mutually aspect Saturn, expect frustrations, loneliness, drug and alcohol dependancy to take its toll on the public health. During this time on personal levels, avoid short term flings and affairs, they will not last and create new trauma for you. After that, Sun mutually aspecting retrograde Saturn will reduce overall vitality for everyone. People with a history of heart problems should be careful during this period. Finally Mercury mutually aspecting this Saturn can cause issues in medicine availability. Medical frauds, improper administration of medicines, fake medicines, incorrect diagnosis etc can take its toll.

Overall this is not a time to be careless about health.

On the political front, most major nations are facing external or internal treachery. War-like situations in several parts of the world. Civil unrest and traitors attempting cause nation-wide disruptions. Arm-chair and social media activists have become a source of significant negativity. Media too is playing a negative role in everyone’s life increasing stress. This stress is affecting the physical and emotional health on the individual level. (Shri Plava is unfortunately unfolding just as predicted). On an personal levels, do not let this external negativity enter your life, try to preserve your personal equilibrium. Trust the national governments to do their job the best they can in this very critical time of Saturn in Shravan, while you keep your focus on your personal health, relationships and finances.

On the professional front, there are limited opportunities overall. The global economy will remain weak and employment avenues will reduce. All major nations are suffering on the financial front. So remain where you are and try to make the most of what you have. Avoid unnecessary confrontations in your work place and with your bosses. Work burden will increase for everyone, so tempers will be high. This is obviously not a good time for new investments. In fact your past investments may not give expected returns either. Budgeting may be necessary. Do not play the stock market etc unless you have a very good idea of what you are doing.

Generally on the personal front, there is hardship for everyone. Mental fatigue, demotivation and a lack of passion in life is to be expected. Even if you are not ill yourself, there will be someone in your family/ friends who will be, so you too will worry. Or you will be bombarded by negativity from the news channels. Your past mistakes will come to haunt you, as you might regret them now. The areas of your life linked to Capricorn will be more active, ie you will have to perform more karmic duties related to this house in your birth chart. You will be overworked and tired in these parts of your life.

  • Eg. Capricorn in your 4th house can mean stress to your mother and thus to you too. Lack of proper rest, your house may want repairs, vehicle may break down or you may have to do more actual house work.
  • Eg. Capricorn  in your 12th house can indicate a lack of rest leading to other issues. Unexpected ill-health, mental restlessness, emotional loneliness etc are possible.

If your birth chart has Saturn retrograde then I have written some rules for analysing retrograde planets in this post. Now, there may be an increase in conflicts, as you might assert yourself inappropriately or uncharacteristically. You will be burdened with more responsibilities during this period. Try to keep things on agreeable levels and work hard.

ww

Briefly for each sign the results which Saturn will give during his retrograde period. This is as per your birth Moon sign. (However if your ascendant sign is more powerful then you can see this from the ascendant sign too.)

Aries – You will feel more confident. Health can improve, however try to get adequate rest. Focus on your profession, there will be stress but you may also get some opportunities, use them well. Try to consolidate your gains in the professional field in this retrograde period. Avoid all unnecessary arguments in relationships. Be especially careful when Mars and Saturn mutually aspect as this period will temporarily cause overwork and ill-health.

Taurus – Home environment will be overall supportive but sudden issues can erupt in your relationships. Keep an eye on your and your family members health. Professionally a good period with sudden positive changes. But jealousy and office politics can cause stress. Be alert, avoid taking unnecessary risks. Be especially careful when Venus and Saturn mutually aspect, as hidden enemies may confront you.

Gemini – You can expect a break from the troubles caused by Saturn in his direct phase. However personal life can remain stressful. There may be an improvement in the profession and finances. Use this time wisely to consolidate your life. But avoid long term risks on all fronts. Be especially careful when Mercury and Saturn mutually aspect as together they can create tiny problems which can have long term implications.

Cancer – Hidden enemies, jealousy, betrayals, conspiracies against you are possible. There will be stresses in all your relationships, family and friends. Professional life and finances can suffer. Keeping a low profile is an good option at this time. Moon transits one sign in 2.25days, so you should keep an eye out when Moon transits in Cancer, Libra and Pisces as here he gets aspected by Saturn. Thankfully these are short transits but happen more frequently so issues will not be deep-rooted but more chronic in nature.

Leo – Things will be slow but still positive growth is possible. Health will be good. Family will be supportive. Profession, business etc will be good. Investments and finances will give returns. You will be able to handle all situations with patience and confidence. However be careful when Sun and Saturn mutually aspect as then health issues can crop up.

Virgo – There will be some trouble in your personal and professional life. Health can be an issue. Avoid quarrelling with your family members as relationships will cause stress. You might need to budget. Avoid all unnecessary risk. Be flexible so that you can better adapt to your circumstances. Mercury and Saturn will be mutually aspecting briefly, they can trigger small issues which can later impact your future gains, so be alert.

www

Libra – This is a average time for you. You can take reasonable decisions related to your family and your future. Professional, personal life will be ok. Finances are average but avoid speculations. Be careful when Venus and Saturn mutually aspect as you may suffer during this period. Saturn is a yogkarak for you so even though in the 4th house he will not harm much but combined with Rahu present in your 8th house now, you have to take care of your health.

Scorpio – There may be some minor issues but you will be able to overcome them easily. You will be overburdened with personal and professional commitments so prioritise. Take care when Mars and Saturn will mutually aspect, long-hidden issues may suddenly crop. Personal health should always be on priority.

Sagittarius – You will be active. There will be some troubles especially with your family so avoid arguments. You will be overburdened at work but you should be able to handle it. Money can be tight so budgeting is advisable. Avoid speculation and keep your expectations realistic. Jupiter will be going retrograde so be alert regarding personal health.

Capricorn – This is a small window which you can use for consolidating your life. However you will be required to work hard. This time will be better than what the troubles that the direct Saturn has brought to your life. However avoid taking long term risks and avoid all disputes as Saturn in Capricorn is not favourable for you overall.

Aquarius – This is not a good time. Hidden enemies, jealousy, conspiracies, etc can pop up. Expect issues in your personal and professional life. Keep an eye on your finances and legal issues. You will feel tired. Avoid arguments as relationships spoilt now might break completely.

Pisces – This period will give slower growth than the time when he was direct. Work burden can go up. Personal life may have some ups and downs but it will be manageable. Keep your expectations low and continue working hard. You have the necessary knowledge, skills and wisdom to get through this. Jupiter will be going retrograde too, so in this period you should take care of your personal health.

As per Maharishi Parashar, there are two remedies for astrological problems, Daan and Mantra (index page). Do these if you feel like it. Try to keep yourself balanced by taking up some practice which involves slow and deep breathing. Pranayam and similar meditative practices will help you in coping. If you are relatively fit you can try doing Yogasan-s at home. However never exert yourself overmuch, do only that much which you safely can. Saturn retrograde in Shravan nakshatra is not good time. Everyone should be careful and stay safe.

Daana as an astrological remedy

Of all the remedies which are in vogue today, there are only two prescribed by Maharishi Parashar. Mantra and Daana दान. (I have written several posts on mantra., if you wish to read, do use the index page)

Daana in the physical sense is giving away of certain objects to temples, deities, Brahmins, or in running water/sea. What to give in Daana? I have written this post on the things connected to the planets which are generally offered as Daana.

When to give Daana? The day which is linked to the planet/ graha is generally prescribed eg Sunday for the Sun and so on. In addition to this, you can do Daana on these following auspicious days.

www.psychologicallyastrology.comwwww

The first day of Ayana. These are the two solstices, ie the start of the Dakshinayna or the Uttarayan, ie the apparent northwards or southwards movement of the Sun. Here there is a confusion. Popularly Uttarayan is associated with Makar Sankranti these days (there is a very detailed reason for this, which would involve too much math, so not going into this). The Uttarayan technically starts on the day when the length of the day time Din-maana starts increasing and the length of the night time Ratri-maana starts decreasing in the north hemisphere. This happens one day after the winter solstice, ie on 22nd Dec in the current times. Similarly the Dakshinayan starts when the length of the night time starts increasing and the length of the day time starts decreasing in the north hemisphere. So this, in the current times occurs one day after the summer solstice, ie on 22nd June. You can do your Daana on these days.

On equinox days, these days are called विषुवत् vishuvat. They are currently at 21st March and 21st September.

During an eclipse of the Sun or the Moon.

The day when the Sun enters the Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces signs are particularly auspicious. In fact all the twelve Surya Sankranti-s are auspicious for offering Daana. ie The day when the Sun enters a sign/ rashi is called the Sankranti. The best one for Daana is the Makar Sankranti when the Sun enters the Capricorn sign (this is also celebrated as Uttarayan in the current times).

Daana can be performed on days when Jupiter transits into another sign.

Akshay tritiya is another auspicious day when Daana can be done.

Then the Tithi-s on which you can perform Daana in a month are these,

  • A Daana made on Amavasya is auspicious. Especially if it is a Somvati Amavasya, ie a no Moon day which falls on a Monday. This amavasya is also very good for snan/bathing in sacred rivers.
  • Daana on Purnimas, ie full Moon days especially the Purnima of the Kartik month is auspicious.
  • On Dvadashi, the 12th day from the no moon day or the full moon day.
  • A Chaturthi on a Tuesday, called the Angarki Chaturthi is a good day for doing Daana. Chaturthi is the 4th day from the no moon day or the full moon day.
  • Also a Saptami falling on a Sunday is highly auspicious. Saptami is the 7th day from the no moon day or the full moon day.
  • Even an Ashtami on a Wednesday is considered good for doing Daana. Ashtami is the 8th day from the no moon day or the full moon day.
  • You can give a Daana on a day where a Tithi has been suppressed/ Lopit tithi. The tithi-s or lunar days are calculated on the basis of the angular distance between the Sun and the Moon. And the regular solar days are calculated from sun-rise to sun-rise. The tithi for the day is the tithi which was in force when the sun was rising. And the lunar day/ tithi is slightly shorter than the solar day. So sometimes on one solar day, 3 lunar tithi-s can occur, this is also called Dina-kshaya, “loss of a day” and is auspicious for Daana.

Then Daana is not supposed to be given or taken during the Sandhya times, ie morning dawn, evening dusk and midday. It is given during the day time, ie between the sunrise and sunset. If you give Daana to a Brahmin, then make sure that he looks and feels like the genuine thing. His energy should be high. Also he should not be eating, sleeping etc when you go to give it to him.

Giving Daana in our powerful ancient temples is a very good option, older the temple better it is. Finding old temples is not an issue in India, most of our temples are at least 1000+ yrs old themselves or re-constructed on sites which are known for thousands of years. You can also put these items in flowing water, sacred rivers like Ganga, Godavari, Tungabhadra etc or the sea are best options. But if its not possible then any flowing river is also good enough.

Finally Daana is not ‘charity’. दान is a Sanskrit word so cannot be translated only experienced. It broadly means giving up, a gift, teaching, sharing, restoring, purification, paying back, imparting, cutting off, communicating etc. When you give away Daana you are restoring your own karmic imbalance. You are sharing your negative karma with someone who is capable of absorbing it. You are cutting yourself off from the negative karma by the act of Daana. You are paying back the energy, you are purifying yourself. So not get high on ego when you give Daan. There is no charity in the real sense ever, you are just re-balancing debts you owe. Be grateful that you are allowed to pay it back as Daana rather than having to endure/ suffer it through. As Daana given with the proper intention always works as a remedy to your astrological issues.

Debilitated planets, Birth chart and Navamsha

In my earlier post I wrote about how the exalted planets behave in the D1 birth chart and the D9 navamsha chart. Exalted planets are glamorous, they are auspicious, shower you with very tangible stuff. A single exalted planet in your D1 or even in D9 makes you outwardly very happy! But every exalted degree has its counterpart, the debilitated degree. And then no one discusses much on how to interpret planets who get debilitated. So to analyse your debilitated planet, first check out what he is the agent of in your birth horoscope D1.

Natural agents are fixed, eg Venus is for relationships, Moon is for mother etc. This is a standard list. Also the sequence of signs and their planetary owners, eg Leo is the 5th sign, so the Sun wherever placed will have a subtle say on your ‘genius’ capacity. These will always subtly affect your this part of life.

Chart-specific agents will vary as per the ascendant sign. Eg for Libra ascendant, Cancer is placed in the 10th house, so the Moon will also indicate the profession. This is an addition to whatever he is the natural agent of. In analysis, always give more weightage to chart-specific agents. Eg such a person’s profession will have Moon-like qualities, eg routine transfers, in natural areas, connected to liquids, import/export, transportation, real-estate, also the actual mother will be a working professional more at the office. So before you start analysing your planet, first get into details what it stands for in your chart. Only after this can you think of consciously modulating its results.

frax047_by_ironpesuc_d9rpiom-fullview-min.jpg

So to analyse the D1 vis-a-vis the D9, let’s focus on the debilitated planets in this post. (I have written about pushkar navamsha and interpreting movements of exalted planets.) Generally it is said that a debilitated planet causes problems and that is it. The basic premise is that the debilitated planets give uncomfortable results generally. But Jyotish is an enabling tool. We want to understand what happens and then intentionally change the direction of energy movement. If the D9 represents the entire potential, we can go to the D9 and trigger some more acceptable physical effect from there.

If a planet is debilitated in your birth chart D1, it means that its energies are completed unsuited to the environment of the sign it occupies. This leads to unhappiness and disillusionment with whatever that planet signifies. Eg a debilitated Mercury, will cause problems with siblings, make you think and choose options which will hurt, doing skill-based jobs will be beyond you etc. (The house placement of such planets will change things, but for this post focussing on the D1 – D9 connect.) But this is 50% of information, so we go to the D9. The background environment will be created by the sign the planet occupies in the D9.

Eg if this Mercury shifts to a more suitable Navamsha eg owned by his own signs, Gemini or Virgo, it is a better placement, he is subtly comfortable. The outward upsets do not penetrate within your inner core. If you do some remedial measures, mantra of Mercury, or give away items of Mercury, ‘activate’ Mercury by life-style changes, or even the all-in-one remedy of sitting in Dhyan regularly, this inner subtle comfort will reflect in the outer world too. Logically, unemotionally analyse what is making you upset. A debilitated planet is always a challenge but know that you are quite capable of rising to it. You have another sign backing you up in the D9 where it really matters.

Eg But if the Mercury shifts to an even more unsuitable navamsha, eg the navamsha of its enemy planet. Then you have to accept that there are going to be problems in the real physical life and consciously avoid or at least try to ameliorate its effects. Mantra jaap or remedies targeted to Mercury will be essential.

Second possibility is that the planet is whatever sign in the D1, but shifts to the navamsha of its debilitated sign. The outer results would be as per the D1 sign eg Mercury in the 3rd house will grant profits in trade, outwardly good relations with your siblings, skills and choices in life. You will do good materially. But internally there would be no satisfaction in all these things, there will be discomfort. Your siblings might on good terms with you, but there would be no satisfaction in that. The context background will be the D9 sign and the actual physical effect the D1 sign.

Eg If your planet is exalted in the D1 and enters a navamsha of its debilitated sign or an otherwise unfavourable navamsha belonging to its enemy planet, it will reduce the emotional inner aspects of satisfaction. It does not deny the material benefits in any case. But it will clearly impact the subtle expectations and sense of satisfaction.

Eg Now if the planet is in its debilitated sign in the D1. And in the D9 also it gets allocated to the same debilitated sign. You might think this to be doubly bad, but there is a difference. This would be a ‘vargottam’ situation, same sign in both charts. The planet is highly uncomfortable but the expectations of the subtle and the reality of the physical will match. There will be typical issues, overall unfavourable on the material side, but the mind-set will accept them! Your expectations are not optimistic and neither is the situation. Things are as you expect it to be, thus you are satisfied. You will consciously and subconsciously avoid getting entangled in situation’s heavy with this planet’s energies so remain better off.

Now let’s consider the planet’s deepest debilitation degree, the Param-neecha. What happens to them in the D9? Here is some basic analysis to help you trigger your thought processes.

The Sun is made to work against his fundamental nature in Libra where he has to learn partnerships and to share equitably. He reaches the limit of his discomfort when he is in Sagittarius in D9, the unwavering hope, humanistic philosophy, dogma and benevolence to all living beings. So he needs to learn this life lesson that divine creativity too has to learn to give, share, balance and live in harmony. This is a life-lesson in fast-track, as the situation is so far off balance that desire to learn/rebalance is most intense.

The Moon is a curious case, his deepest debilitating degree falls in D1 Scorpio but in D9 in his own sign Cancer. Scorpio is the psychological drilling into one’s own self. (Moon is the summation of your entire personality.) Here you are brought face to face with all the deepest aspects of yourself which make you so uncomfortable that you have locked them into your deepest sub-consciousness. When the D9 is Cancer, you feel most emotionally secure when you are under your own microscope. You want to discover every secret about yourself, irrespective of the consequences. So do explore your internal self, but try to not hurt yourself too as the subtle hurts can go in deep.

Mercury is also understandable, Pisces D1 and Scorpio D9, both watery signs. Amorphous Pisces gives him zero foot-hold, there is no data where he can anchor himself, he doesn’t know where to start with this database’s management, confusion reigns. He is adrift in dreaminess. And when the D9 becomes Scorpio, it is like being forced from the background to delve into deep (Mercury is by nature superficial) and pull out esoteric secrets. He is an adolescent and often these secrets about the self require adult-understanding to overcome. A highly practical planet placed in vagueness, forced to search, learn secrets, understand from this vagueness frustrates him. But if you take this as a challenge, maybe you can use his energies, however against your nature it may seem.

Venus is the only planet who retains the same sign for his deepest debilitation degree in the D1 and D9. The load of karma on your soul is the reason you are bound. Attaining Moksh means to get rid of this karma. Venus is the real Moksh-karak, the agent of the Ultimate illumination. Venus dislikes imbalance, and this combo of Virgo D1/ Virgo D9 is imbalance of the highest degree. He is most uncomfortable here, but the desire to come out of this discomfort is also the most intense here. If you can divert his energy of discomfort in actively rebalancing karma you can achieve great progress. But if you allow its misery to sweep you off, this placement is conducive to addictions and immoral behaviour which will increase karma exponentially.

Mars in D1 Cancer and D9 Pisces, his deepest degree of discomfort. A vigorously active planet, full of initiative, desiring to conquer, compete and what does he get here? Psycho-babble! He does rule a watery Scorpio so he is not unfamiliar with the astral and the ‘other’. But now he is required to intelligently use the energies not just conquer endlessly. He is required to build a foundation in the astral realms. Mars cannot be bothered with use and build type of work, it is uncomfortable. But think of it this way, here he is to be a strong yet benevolent protector of the bridges to the other dimensions and he is required to guide the astral self safely across to the ‘other’ dimensions. You might have loads of astral travel, work to be done in the spirit dimensions, sleep will not give rest. The overload of the psychic can damage the physical body and the energy flows. Do be aware.

Debilitated planets, Birth chart and Navamsha

Jupiter in D1 Capricorn and in the D9 Aquarius suffers from restriction of the highest degree. The constraints, legal duties, regulations, social obligations, karmic service in the background as well as the foreground grates on his hopeful, expansive, benevolent nature. Jupiter’s wisdom, philosophy and teaching is irrelevant. Here the service demanded is of the highest magnitude. You have to reconcile yourself to this aspect of your life. You are going to have to work. But your internal expectations and outer reality are both linked to Saturn so there might be a strange acceptance of the situation. A gloomy sort of satisfaction that you have performed your job. And Saturn is strict but fair so you will get your due returns on the social/money fronts. Satisfaction? Now that is a different thing.

Saturn is most uncomfortable in D1 Aries and D9 Virgo. He is the faceless public, the nameless servitor, the worker in constrained circumstances. Going exploring, challenging, conquering, expending loads of energy is not his style. He needs to discipline, regulate, order, serve. He cannot manage in an environment full of exuberance and aggression. And added to this, he has in the background the full understanding of karma and the step-wise work needed to balance out this pending karma. Imagine his plight. He has the overriding awareness of his karmic load, he wants to systematically work through it, not create more. But the physical environment is such that he will create more unless he is very aware of his entire personality and environment. And he prefers remaining faceless. A existential dilemma for the dour Saturn.

Finally Rahu/ Ketu the energies of desire and apathy for experience. The flow of energy of your chart. Look at Rahu/Ketu combined. If one is debilitated the other will also be. So in a horoscope if these two are placed in a environment completely unsuited to their fundamental nature, do counsel the person carefully. All aspects of the physical and the spiritual life are going to be very deeply impacted.

Rahu is param-neech in D1 Scorpio D9 Sagittarius. He is required to function in a situation which is most conducive for Ketu. Scorpio is secrets, no social recognition here. If he tries to over-reach it will be actually dangerous. Scorpio is the movement of vital energy/pran in your energy channels/nadi! You cannot gamble or take risks here. Things have to be very precisely worked out in this environment. And in the background the expansive hopeful Sagittarius. This misplaced hope in a dangerous environment is the worst combination. Rahu tends to take wild risks in this placement which invariably causes deep harm. If you have this placement think twice, logically, reasonably before doing anything risky.

Ketu is max debilitated in D1 Taurus combined with D9 Gemini. Ketu is set up in a environment tailor-made for Rahu! Ketu is dissociation and disinterest. Here you are required to be bold, speak out, think, logically analyse, choose, act, create options for yourself. These are your public faces, Taurus and Gemini, your reputation and behaviour in your family/local reputations. These are your sources of income and fame. And Ketu! You will not bother about all this and suffer very deeply on all material aspects of life.

Debilitated planets, Birth chart and Navamsha

I use Tarot cards sometimes when I feel too lazy to look at the horoscopes. The Thoth cards are my favourite, I love them. (But my first love remains Jyotish). Thoth is real magic, you open the cards out and the energy just pours out. These energies change the energies of the situation. If the Reader is good enough, the mere act of going for a divination changes your energies. It is the same with Jyotish. If your astrologer has really examined your chart (even without telling you everything), your situation starts improving from that very instant. (It is the same with genuine doctors, you just visit him and you start feeling internally better. The karma of giving away energy, every healer, doctor, astrologer, Tarot reader is required to do this.)

If you want to get into more depths on these exalted and debilitated signs tables, check out the associated Nakshatra (and its pada/the one-fourth part of it) and their characteristics. You will get pointers on how to best divert their energies so that you benefit on both physical and subtle levels.

If you have any debilitated planets in your horoscope D1 or D9, or if they are not comfortable, unable to give sensible results, do perform some remedial measures. Astrology is not fatalistic, you can always change things. Intend that the remedies work, it can be as simple as putting some flowers in running water or as complex as a full-fledged puja. But you have to intend, you should want to make its energies more enabling for you. You are working the magic. You are your own horoscope and the placements, you are regulating your own energies. These planets are you, these are your own energies. The planet is not outside in the sky. Well, it actually is! but you are the planets, you are the lunar mansions, you are everything. Try to be more aware of yourself. Keep your power within you, give yourself strength, do not fear the planets or their placements. If you are afraid of an aspect of yourself, things will never work out.

So, if you have your correct birth time, do check-out your D9 Navamsha. You can use its energies to trigger changes in your physical environment. If you use the top-most layer, just the D1, you won’t be wrong, but there will be lesser depth in your analysis. Jyotish is like layers within layers, loops within loops, fractals. The real use of Jyotish is to understand yourself for your personal self analysis and self-healing.
