The word Varna वर्ण has several meanings in Sanskrit, ie quality, paint, description, narration, class, word, vowel, unknown quantity, syllable, species, sound, sort, shape, renown, praise, property, quality, outward appearance, order, one who wards off, musical note, mantle, lustre, lid, measure, gold, form, figure, cloak, beauty, character, commendation, cloak, etc. (It does not mean ‘caste’ as is understood today. A Dharmic society does not have a caste system like we are forced to follow today.)
Our ideal society is based on the four Varna, Vipra or Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra. This enables the people and the society as a whole to maintain Dharma. Dharma at its simplest is the ‘right foundation’. Each one of the 4 Varna is essential as it performs critical functions in the society. If even one of them does not function properly, the entire society collapses, which is evidently happening today. Neither Varna is greater or lesser, all four are highly interdependent. If anyone disparages a Varna as ‘lower’ and another Varna as ‘higher’ then he does not follow Dharma.
In Jyotish, the planetary forces/ graha, the signs/ rashi and the lunar mansions/ nakshatra are assigned Varna. Varna is essential for deciphering the mindset of the person and this criteria is especially used during matching charts for marriage. The varna of the lunar mansions of the birth Moon and the ascendant degree/ Lagna and to some extent Rahu have a more significant effect on your mindset/ behaviour. Varna should be considered especially for questions related to the profession and finances. Even while prescribing remedies you can use Varna as an indicator.
To understand the Varna concept first, we need to understand Shukra and Ojas.
- Shukra शुक्र has several meanings, the Daityaguru Shukracharya / Venus, lucid, white, wealth, sperm, spotless, pure, era, light, plant, essence, gold, clear, bright, good actions, clear liquids etc.
- Ojas ओजस means splendour, vitality, power, strength, support, appearance, manifestation, lustre, light, water, ability, style, energy, expression, emphasis, etc.
The four Varna, Vipra or Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra are based on the energy dynamics that exist within the mind and body. This is reflected in the person’s outward behaviour, his preferred activities and most significantly in his profession. eg a teacher, soldier, carpenter and a businessman have different mindsets and behaviours. Thus earlier, the Varna of a person was never determined by birth but always by profession which is the expression of the Nakshatra, graha and rashi varnas in the chart. True Varna is chart specific.
Now to recap the seven ‘substances’, the Dhatu of the human body (this post). The seventh Dhatu in sequence is Shukra Dhatu. Shukra is used for three essential activities,
- Shukra dhatu is essential for reproductive activity. It is consumed to produce the physical sperm/ Shukra and ova/ Shonit and to charge these very valuable cells with the necessary ‘energy’ so that they can create equally highly energetic offspring in the future. This is the link between generations and consumes Shukra dhatu and its energy.
- A second use of Shukra is to fuel your interactions with everyone and everything around you. One is obviously when you are engaging in physical intimacy as a part of the reproductive process. And the second is the not so obvious but very much there energy use when you interact with anyone, living or non-living around you. eg when you talk to the grocer, there is an exchange of emotion, speech, non-verbal cues, money, groceries and also energy. eg if you are interacting with several hundreds of people on a daily basis, more of your Shukra dhatu gets drained. eg if you interact with non-living items all the time, eg you are a blacksmith and always around machinery, even then the drain on the Shukra dhatu is comparatively more.
- Any surplus Shukra dhatu remaining after these above two activities, is very slowly converted into Ojas.
Ojas is the finest essence of energy, the culmination of all the ‘food’ that you have taken inside your body /mind. Thus the production of Ojas also depends on your having a balanced/ satvik diet, a proper digestive system/fire, a regular routine, ie physical exercise like Yogasan and the regular spiritual practice which is a mental exercise, etc. The quantity of Ojas produced completely depends on the quantity of Shukra dhatu available for further refining (that is why several higher level yogic practices emphasise on using Shukra dhatu to the minimum by restricting activities 1 and 2 above). Ojas is a very precious resource and Ayurved recognises two types of Ojas – Para Ojas located at the Ajnya chakra and the Apara Ojas which circulates in the body.
With this basic background, let’s analyse the energy dynamics of the four Varna.
This is how Shukra and its refined form Ojas, is linked to Varna. The four Varna are Vipra, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra.
The Shudra शूद्र use the energy of the Shukra dhatu within their bodies ‘to produce’. The power of their physical work creates material produce and this is the core of a vibrant Dharmic society. A society cannot sustain without this ‘production’ power of Shukra. The root द्र in Sanskrit means produce, material, flow, sourced from, etc. And the शू indicates that this production is appropriate, exact, auspicious etc. Every activity involving physical labour is the domain of Shukra operating through the Shudra Varna. This Shukra performs all sorts of work, from the very basic physical labour to specialised jobs with specific skills, eg the skilled work needed to produce agricultural crops, manage animal husbandry, manufacture goods, machine work in industries, sewing clothes, making shoes, making gold ornaments, all this is the exclusive domain of the Shudra, the ‘auspicious material’. This is how they preserve Dharma within themselves and in the society. They expend very significant amounts of Shukra dhatu as they interact more with inanimate objects eg machinery or plants eg agriculture or animals eg animal husbandry etc who are all on the lower consciousness scale.
Next, the Vaishya वैश्य are required to use the energy of their Shukra dhatu to interact with others, to trade, to determine the exact value of material things, to exchange value and to thus add to the prosperity of the overall society. The keyword of this Vaishya Varna is ‘value’, wherever this word is used it is the domain of the Vaishya. Several types of goods produced by the power of Shukra in the Shudra Varna need to be first valued then traded, bartered or exchanged for other goods. This is a typical function requiring special skills, ability, confidence etc. And this is how the Vaishya varna works to preserve Dharma in the society and within themselves. Their Shukra dhatu is used to interact mainly with other human beings while bargaining, trading etc and thus there remains a greater surplus for conversion to Ojas.
Kshatriya क्षत्रिय use the energy of this same Shukra dhatu to govern and protect the individual, the society and thus Dharma. They have to learn and practice marital Vidyas, learn politics, governance, the mental skills to plan wars, enforce law and order, catch criminals, to judge and to punish them, to rule and properly manage a kingdom, its people and its assets. They are required to take on physical wounds and mental trauma, to hurt or kill others, also to leave their own physical bodies on the battlefield or while fighting against invaders and criminals. They have to use their minds to plan for death and destruction of those who attack the society and Dharma, they strategise and implement aggressive and defensive strategies. They are also required to govern with a dispassionate mindset, management at the highest level. A lifetime of sober and violent energies for protection of Dharma in the society and also within themselves. Again the primary interaction is with other humans so there remains a reasonably good quantity of Shukra dhatu for processing into Ojas.
Vipra use the energy of their Shukra dhatu to learn, practice and teach the Ved, the Vidyas like Jyotish, Ayurved etc, various subjects, philosophy, also maintain temples, perform pujas for families, manage schools/ Gurukul, teach children, advise the king, counsel those who come to them for help etc. By doing this, they ensure that Dharma prevails within themselves and in the society. They have to study and gain necessary knowledge and skills. Also to perform a lot of pujas, both personal and public, follow several personal rules regarding behaviour, interactions etc. Their primary interactions are with their deity who is on an exceptionally higher energy level. Also they are required to live a strict, regimented satvik lifestyle. Thus they retain significant surplus Shukra dhatu for conversion to Ojas. This Ojas is then used in their own Dharmic growth and for sharing with their students, devotees, everyone else in the society. The Brahmin varna is bound by the rules of Dharma to share this energy. So as they interact with the devotees of the deity, the families for whom they perform pujas, their students, people who do ‘namaste’ to them, in fact, everyone in the society who comes to the temples, they are required to give the blessings/ ashirwad and pass on the energy.
Finally the Sanyasis. These are spiritual aspirants who have taken formal Sanyas, ascetics. The Sanyasi are not a part of the society so they are not required to interact with anyone from any group within the society. They do not have a Varna, they are not required to have children or to interact with any other person. Their only interaction is with their deity, their mantra, their sadhana, ie their chosen spiritual path. The Shukra dhatu within their bodies is almost completely converted to Ojas. This then becomes Para Ojas, the undefinable ‘spiritual beauty’ that high level Yogis and Gurus radiate.
There was a question on Varna, the answer for which became too long for a comment. This analysis on the Shukra, Ojas and Varna has not been posted anywhere till now, and this was told by my Guru. I have analysed my sample charts observed and these people, their behaviour does match the Varna. (Those who are studying Jyotish open your sample chart collection and analyse your self/ friends/ family members with this perspective.)
Devbhasha Sanskrutam is a palimpsest, layers of meanings to be applied as per the intellect and the situation. The reference point, the context, the perspective is very important. All words in Sanskrit are titles, complete descriptions based on the meanings of the vowels and the consonants. The meanings of the Akshar are fixed, linked to the movement of the pran in the chakras within the Sushumna. Thus there can be no ambiguity in the meanings of Sanskrit words. Unfortunately our Sanatan Dharm concepts have been distorted and twisted on purpose by the invaders in an attempt to damage our culture. To really understand what we are all about, Sanskrit is essential. All our books are in Sanskrit. (Avoid reading books written by a non-Hindus who claim to translate, decipher or otherwise explain concepts from our Dharma and our Sanskruti).

I had an unrelated question. I wanted to know if the caste system in India is actually derived from the shashtras. I wonder how can such an oppressive and cruel system could have divine sanction? It surely has to be the mischief of vested interests? And secondly, is the Bharatvarsh paying for this bad karma which we have inflicted upon our own people for so long?

we do not have a ‘caste system’. it was a ‘gift’ from the invaders/ colonials to us.
our society was ruined by the invaders and the colonials who first killed the brahmins so we had no teachers left. then they mistranslated our books on purpose.
just one eg. there is one ‘arthur avalon’. if you search the books he has ‘translated’ you will get all the deep tantra book names. never ever read these. they are done so badly and on purpose to misguide.
we do have a varna system about which i have written. it is the most correct interpretation that you will ever find anywhere.
and yes it is as per our shastras because it is based on the energy of the person. varna is individual specific.
right now we are suffering because we failed to maintain Dharma within ourselves and within our society. we lost faith/Shraddha in our Sanatan Dharma. we failed to do our daily puja so we lost our energy. if you do not give energy to the Kuldevata, where will you get your energy from? we failed to conserve our history, our books, our language!
we are right now a very degraded version of our ideal society.
but there are a few who still stick to the Dharma and it is because of those few that we are still surviving as a nation.
i insist on only one thing in this blog,
everyone who reads this blog must do their daily pujas, compulsorily. 10 mins a day, morning and evening. do whatever you want, but so it sincerely and for a lifetime.
this is the only thing which will help you hold on to Dharma within you.
and if the individual is Dharmic then the family too will be. if all the families follow Dharma, the society will also naturally be Dharmic.

i fact i think i will not answer any questions in the future unless the person first confirms that he/she has started and is following a routine.
if you want to go into the ancient history then the root cause was a faulty thought process called ‘Buddhism’ which popped up a few thousand years ago and people were swayed towards it. finally Adi Shankaracharya had to take birth to remove this from the public mindset by writing several books on the Vedant, explaining what Sanatan Dharma actually is and doing vigorous Shastraarth/ philosophical debates. After this, several buddhists accepted that they were following faulty concepts and joined the mainstream (those who did not left this nation, it was a traumatic period.) but the damage was done. our Kshatriyas failed to rule, protect and fight. and vaishyas failed to value. and the shudras failed to produce the ‘auspicious material stuff’. and our brahmins failed to do pujas and teach/give ashirwad to the rest. if one varna is destabilised the entire society collapses. right now we are living in a collapsed society.

Does it also mean if we align our profession according to the varna as per chart, it will give better results? E.g. shudra would be better suited to make actual products/manufacturing job, vaishya finance, vipra as teacher and kshatriya as civil services?
If you could spare some time, could you glance through the aghora series by robert svoboda? his teacher was also teacher of dr vasant lad and the topics especially about mantra sadhana which he has mentioned seem correct, e.g. the 5S principle he mentioned.
The original bhagwan badrinath moorti seems to be stolen either by mughals and currently may be somewhere in middle east or may have been given by Ashok as gift to spread buddhism to china/japan etc countries. It’s just the guess, as both of these countries are prospering.

Trying to find about Bhadrinath temple history, is it possible that the actual moorthi in the shrine is thrown away by Buddhism followers and several years later puna-pratishtith done in the shrine by adi shankaracharya. Is it after this that the original moorthi got displaced?

It is very powerful, beyond powerful! and He is very much aware here. the story of this Moorti being found in the Alaknanda river is true. No doubt on the power and purity of this moorti and His presence here.
I have been to do His darshan three times in this life in Badrinath
But the original one was made specifically for Tantra and was stolen on purpose. (it is not in Bharat as of now. ) After which this one was pran-prathishta /established by Adi Shankaracharya.

I am following a daily morning spiritual and puja practice which takes approx 1.25 hrs, starting between 5:30 – 5:40 am daily, and most of what I do is from the guidance received from you on this blog. However, of late there is a severe lack of concentration, focus and intention and I feel that I am not able to do anything to bring back all of these. I have been unable to continue this routine in the evening but wish to begin.
The original Bhagwan Badrinath moorti, can it be in either Guruvayoor or Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram or somehow related to these locations and or priests? But since you hinted that misusing the energies cannot bring prosperity, so the above locations seems to be doubtful. Can’t seem to find anything about this.

But currently tamo-gun is very high. Everyone is suffering from its effects.
Try to eat satvik food as much as possible. It will help.

First of all thank you Tejaswini ji, for this valuable post.
What triggered my response is ‘Reader’ here saying in his query that the country having the stolen moorthi has prospered! No way! Stealing moorthis from temples invites the wrath of the deity from which there is no escape. Neither the thief nor anybody in the country where this stolen moorthi is kept are doing the daily requisite pujas this deity requires plus he has polluted & offended the diety with his touch & action. My mother used to tell us incidents in her state of rare instances of theives stealing gold ornaments from temples only to return it back. Just few years back I had read in the news of a similar incident in another Indian state. There is a famous old sarpa temple in my mother’s native place where legend has it that people who stole something from the temple premises and retrieved it later from their pocket or bag found a snake instead of the object stolen.
I wish to narrate a personal experience. This is not a moorthi stolen from temple still the effects were terrible. My mother’s ancestral home in her village has sarpa devata. Her ancestors had got these sarpa devata installed on a specific part of the land surrounding the ancestral home after getting a prashna done by a Brahmin priest to find out where these sarpa devatas would like to be. The sarpa idols were made of gold, praan prathishta was done and pujas were/are done regularly for their blessings. In our ancestral home these sarpa devatas are situated near a small pond which is never used by humans. As is common in small villages where everything is known, most people are familiar with this and will never go near or use this pond. Nobody, including family members go near or use this pond even today.
Years ago my mother was facing difficulties in getting married. So my grandmother consulted an astrologer. This astrologer did a prashna & told her that the sarpas had “died”, the idols had been melted, but because my mother’s family were innocent (they did not know at that time) and not involved in their “death” they were not cursed. But they still had to bear some bad effects of this situation, my mom’s marriage was not happening despite efforts. After this my grandmother did some investigation. She found out that the gold idols of sarpas were indeed missing from our property. My grandmother got gold idols of sarpas made, got their praan prathishta done and re-installed the sarpas with a big puja. All this was very expensive even in those olden times but she got it done by a good Brahmin priest. My mom got married within a year of this puja. Subsequently other weddings in the family also happened easily.
Some years later my grandmother found out more about this theft. There was a Christian labourer who had begun living in the adjacent plot of land where he worked. As soon as this man came to live there, he was told never to come near the area where the sarpas were and never to use the pond. Unknown to my grandmother and her family, this man began to secretly use the pond. Later he stole the gold sarpa idols and got them melted. Soon afterwards this man contracted leprosy which never got cured with medical treatment. He then moved to another area of the village where he died a horrible death. Before his death this man confessed to his family members and friends about having stolen our gold sarpa idols and getting them melted. Everyone in our village came to know of his confession. By the way Sarpa doshas include difficulties in getting married, infertility, skin problems that don’t heal despite medical treatment, family line dying out.
Anyone stealing moorthis suffer a lot. Because praan prathishta is done for these moorthis and they are powerful energies because of regular pujas. If you pray to these deities (especially of ancient temples) with shraddha they appear in your dreams, guide and help you. I have heard of such experiences from all over our country and both me and my mother have also experienced it.
The invaders, highly ignorant as they were, made fun of and called this as “idol worship”. Unfortunately some Hindus also believe in this faulty idea. Look at the Shabarimala incident where, among others, some vested interests wanted women of menstruating age to enter the shrine – going against tradition. The powerful deity there did not allow it to happen. Among others, many communists are guilty of propagating their atheistic crap.
I agree, we should not rely on western interpretations/ books. In the past I have noticed that westerners come to Bharat, study for few years, return to their country and are suddenly “experts”, writing books and doing expensive courses and making a lot of money from whatever they learned freely (or could grasp) here. If you know that subject in depth you can discern that these “experts” have an incomplete knowledge of the subject. Unfortunately they end up misguiding many people.

Even ladies have started visiting Shani shingnapur under the pretext of equality and what not. But the same ladies wouldn’t dare enter the other religions places where it is banned, as they know that they wouldn’t be spared. And, still they say intolerance is growing in india.

But then what did they do with the stolen moorti in tibet? From what i bave read online, in ww2, german leader somehow was enchanted with Hinduism and visited tibet monks only. And that’s how he designed the swastika logo but inverted it for his own purpose.
Also, we should read only the books which are atleast 1000 yr old+ referred by atmajnyani personality. This will narrow down to only the books written in Sanskrit and translated to other languages e.g. available on Geeta press. But for tantra related topics no such indian origin books are there. To read those, will have to learn Sanskrit to a degree good enough to understand such an old texts, right?
I read 1,2 books in Marathi by author A L bhagwat, but not sure his credentials or even the content.

We r the most tolerant society. Not just humans we also respect the rights of animals to occupy the same space as us.
Eg. Look at all the cows sitting on our roads. No one even thinks of disturbing them.
And it may sound like a silly example but it represents our collective mindset. We are highly flexible and adaptable as a society.
Hitler was a christian not a buddhist or a follower of Sanatan dharma. And he chose a christian symbol fr his nation. It is the hooked cross of the christian religion. Not our swastik.
Hooked cross motifs exist on the ceiling of Pope’s official residence, Sistine Chapel, Vatican City and several old churches. Hitler used its name, design and ideology. After he became unpopular, they conveniently associated this symbol with our Swastik.
As per the Hindu American Foundation, in the crude translations of Adolf Hilter’s “Mein Kampf” into English, the Hakenkreuz ie hooked cross was substituted for the Swastik. Doubling down on the confusion, after 1933, NYT actively started using the term Swastika instead of Hakenkreuz.
Its another attempt to stop us from using the Swastiks energy.
Our symbols are very precise. Swastik is drawn with 2 lines horizontal and vertical. There is a reason for that.
These lines cannot b tilted to 45deg then it won’t be a Swastik in the first place.

We, as a nation, tolerate a lot. I think the people who claim we are intolerant are not really loyal to Bharat. I wonder why they continue to live and prosper in “intolerant” Bharat and don’t migrate to countries they inwardly support. As Tejaswini ji rightly says Bharat is a very blessed land, I think we are the only country in the whole world where some of the greatest realized souls were born and attained Moksha. There still exists realized souls in India but they don’t reveal themselves or their powers before everbody and they don’t seek publicity. If we are lucky we might meet such a soul. Or we get to hear about them from somebody’s experience. Regarding your query on books and tantra, just leave it to Parabrahma who as the ultimate Guru is guiding us. From my experience- if we are meant to know something that information will come to us in some way or the other, sometimes in miraculous ways. And we need to be “ready” to get this knowledge. Whatever Tejaswini ji has suggested in her blog just do those things with faith and sincerity, they do help a lot. This blog has helped me immensely.

We still use Swastika symbols for auspiciousness. We should just stick to our traditions. I pray your hectic schedule eases out. 1. My understanding of Badrinath is this, possible not up to date and I’m sure known by many: Bhagavan Adi Shankaracharya found this murti in Alaknanda river after it was thrown there by Buddhists..the facade of the temple is also very tibetan in style because of that era.. The Murti was ‘chipped’ so Bhagavan Adi Shankaracharya was apprehensive..but he received divine guidance, akashvani that this very murti must be re-installed by him..which he did and up to today, the priests are from Kerala as per the traditions put into place by him. If after this known story, the murti has been stolen, then I am not aware of it. My trek to Lord Badrinath was my starting point in my spiritual journey.
2. Your last line about non-hindus writing texts is true. Though I have to admit, I was intrigued by Max Mueller…K.S Ganguli re-worked Mueller’s translation of Mahabharata…the translator’s preface by him (KSG) convinced me to continue reading it…it had humility and devotion..(plus my own Vishnu Sahasranama chant to keep Bhagavan Veda Vyasa’s grace as I read it). But I still wondered about the ability of Max Mueller to learn that much of Sanskrit and work through an epic itihas like Mahabharata. I actually googled him once… So there is negative stuff (patronising to Hindus, colonial/missionary condescension ) and positive info about his later views also. The only reason I downloaded this KSG Mahabharata was because it was travel friendly and I was mulling over the possibility of recommending this to the vast number of Hindus who are out of touch with their mother tongues, living abroad etc. It could be a starter text..if the Hindu is serious enough, he/ she will have to learn Bharatiya bhasha and study the shastras properly after that. (Sad truth, that no hindu has attempted this translation apart from MM and KS Ganguli) In short, what is your view of Max Mueller? Or at least this version of Mahabharata.
Colonisation was not just of the land, the psyche and the scriptures were ‘colonised’ as well. Half my time is spent on filtering out the real from the ‘hybrid Hindu culture’ that is spreading everywhere now. But it is worth the struggle. 🙏 So you can imagine the joy of the Hindus is search of authenticity when they discover your blog.

Reg the Bhagwan’s moorti in Badrinath.
It is very powerful, beyond powerful! and He is very aware here. the story of this Moorti being found in the Alaknanda river is true. No doubt on the power and purity of this moorti and His presence here.
I have been to do His darshan three times in this life in Badrinath. It is beyond words.
But the original one was made specifically for Tantra and was stolen on purpose. (it is not in Bharat as of now. ) After which this one was pran-prathishta /established by Adi Shankaracharya.
We Bharatiyas are very gullible. We believe everything we are told.
How is it possible that someone from an alien nation arrives in Bharat at the age of say 30yrs. Already considers us to be brown skinned savages, dogs even. Then learns Sanskrit! our mother tongue. Not just the basic level but that highest level Sanskrit plus gains that understand of Dharma /Ved, Vedanta, Aranyaka, Brahmana, basically the 6 darshan shastra all the Vidyas, Tantra! that he can translate our deepest books into English. A highly inadequate language in itself!
Will give an example so that you realise the impossibility. I know math, but can I with a basic 1+1=2 understanding, completely comprehend higher level PhD level calculus and then translate it into Biology? This is what these ‘oriental scholars’ have apparently done. Such conceit and such ego of these people. Unbelievable.
Are we as a nation so collectively stupid so as to believe this fairy tale?
Woodroff ‘Arthur Avalon’ has written a ‘translation’ of Kamakalavilas! This book! The deepest tantra, the creation itself.
Or of the 4 Ved! Or the Pancham Ved, the Mahabharat! Is this even credible?
If you want to read ‘translations’, then the Gita press books are still the best option.
Buy the Mahabharat series from Gita press in your favoured Bharatiya language and read that.
That Kamakalavilas thingie irritated me to no end. I would not dare attempt a ‘translation’ of this book or even a commentary or even a post or and essay unless I understood it fully. And frankly the day it happens I will realise my Self!
To answer your question this is what most likely happened. They kidnapped a few learned Brahmins and shipped them along with the books to England and used them to write a translation which suited their purposes. Most likely they had several brahmins working separately on the same book so that they could not purposely write incorrect stuff. These poor Brahmins had no choice. The threat would have been the same. If they do not comply then death outside Bharat followed by burial of the body. Denial of the Antim Sanskar is the greatest punishment possible. They would have turned into Brahmarakshaasa, the worst of the worst. Naturally these Brahmins had to do as they said but even then they were smart, they have left so many small points which are evident to someone who knows Dharma.
Never ever read anything on your Dharma, your Sanatan Dharma which is written by a non-Hindu. It is not possible.
Point. Again, never read anything that is less than 1500-1000yrs old.
Or obviously any books by Atmanyani Mahapurush should be read. Choose something in the language you are comfortable in. Several Satguru have taken birth in this Bharat Bhoomi and written so much in the local languages too.
If you think this blog is valuable for Hindus abroad who cannot read our languages and are stuck in English, then do ask them to read from here.
They might have to come back and it is better that they read something about our Bharat /Dharma before that time comes.

I used to listen to shloks for about 20yrs, but a few yrs ago I stopped doing so. Now I prefer doing Manasik jaap as I travel.

After reading the thread above, I want to ask – is the original moorti of Badrinath disfigured as the Buddha murti by monks and is in Tibet right now hidden by them? This explains the traumatic fate the region met up with.
Another alternative thought I had was that – it is the moorti remoulded as Shiva moorti which is known as Kalpa Vigraha in recent times . It is the oldest deity found in the world with confirmed dating of apprx 28000 years old. Since I I read about Kalpa Vigraha 2 months ago, I wanted to ask a question about it and am now taking the opportunity. I saw the image of this murti but it appeared like Vishnu rather than Shiva to me. It is supposed to be 28000 years old which must be the beginning of Krita Yuga – beginning of the 4 yuga cycle. Currently it is with CIA in USA and the those who drank the water offered to this vigraha lived a very long life 100 years old minimum. Is this correct….What would be the mystery of kalpa Vigraha which US is not returning back to us?
Also – another query is suppose any deity that is stolen is saumya, benefic and the people in that foreign region are also behaving as per good ethics, then would the deity forgive what has been done to her by the ancestors of those people ? It would then only magnify their collective good intentions and give them prosperity because Vigraha per say has only inherent energy which is free from intent of her own or the trapings of trigunas. It is an energy field so will it carry the memory of the insult of desecration she faced years ago. But as per the blog post and discussions on Vigraha you had mentioned that the situation of deities creates trouble.
IS this the reason some countries are returning 2000/3000 years old smuggled moortis back to India? Also many deities especially in maharashtra region where I stay come in the dreams of the priests/brahmins there telling their exact location and requesting for jeernoddhar and these priest DO find them EXACTLY there and build the temple. Such vigraha is called swayambhu. What is the secret behind this amazing phenomenon ? And how do they select the particular person for this?
..it would be great if you could throw light on these ancient times, which will help us to strengthen our beliefs and go ahead with Drudh shraddha.

A moorti is not a simple sculpture or just an idol. It is the actual deity in person.
A deity removed from its temple/ mandir is going to be very furious and will always curse irrespective of anything. It must be returned to the place where it was taken.
If such moortis are demolished on purpose then the energy blast will affect the culprits, their families, their future generations etc.
These sort of events are common.
Descendants of the original temple priests or people who are sincere devotees can get such directions.

To either misuse or destroy because they were aware of the power of the deity and they were into tantra… If we see what happened to the land of tibet, post all that… It can explain quite a lot… Some of the many karmas because of which I feel places like Tibet and Afghanistan might never really recover.

Yes.
Those who leave their physical shells in the heat of battle, they attain veergati. They are supremely focussed solely on their Dharma and they sacrifice their bodies. It is the apex of Kshatriya dharma. a very huge chunk of punya, a very huge jump onwards.
It is exactly what higher level sadhaks do.
they sacrifice their bodies while sitting in on their asan, in Dhyan (this is actually their personal Kurukshetra) in an internal war, supremely focussed on their Dharma.
In both cases they have supreme control over their minds.
Anything tht helps control the mind is mantra.
Fr the Kshatriya the weapon the war the actions tht they do is all a Vidya.
They are on a different level altogether. Tht is why we give them so much respect. They died while defending Dharma, their dedication and their ability to control their minds to focus and to sacrifice their bodies fr the greater collective.

Random suicide is not an acceptable way of leaving the Martyalok.
there are very serious repercussions which extend for several lives.
it is not advisable at all.
In the case of these women who burnt themselves on the chitas of their dead husbands or committed jauhar the situation was different.
they knew that if they remained alive they would be raped and sold as slaves.
if they left their dead bodies just like that the dead bodies would be humiliated in unmentionable ways and desecrated.
so they chose the best option as they could visualise it.
to leave the body and also to burn it.
these were very horrific times which we cannot even imagine at this point of time.
so let’s hope that the power of their Sankalp/ intention was strong, that their souls reached Pitrulok safely and their own Antaratma judged their this action/karma a bit leniently and they got off with lesser negative karma.
A warrior dying on the battleground is Veergati. the mind is focussed only on fighting. it is a very strong single pointed focus. the ‘zone’.
there are several stories where fatally wounded soldiers continued to fight. this is another level of mental strength altogether.
for our freedom fighters who were captured and imprisoned, they were tortured for endless years! most were regular people not trained soldiers.
they were often driven mad by the torture in the jails. and when they died the bodies were not given Anteyshti and often thrown into the sea. so their turning into an insane pretatma is but natural in this situation.
to sustain the the face of such inhuman torture requires superhuman mental strength. that is why prisoners often commit suicide. they cannot take it anymore.
if you ever go to Port Blair do go to the light and sound show in the jail. you will be shaken to the core.
the european DNA has a load of pending negative karma. all the dead in Asia, Africa, America, Australia have to be paid their due.
Since someone asked me what these ladies should have done instead.
At this point of time/space we cannot do this.
But just to present a different perspective.
compare the example of the Maratha Queen Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi. She was widowed, very young, beautiful etc. caught in a whirlpool of invaders. the same situation as the Rajput royal ladies. She had no natural children but she adopted her son. Gathered an army, motivated thousands to fight fr the land/Jhansi. then fought the invaders and achieved Veergati.
Point is. Suicide fr any reason is simply not acceptable. Never ever.
So in any desperate situation choose to follow the example of Rani Laxmibai. Fight.

Since there are multiple astrological influences on a person should we consider that at any given time, a person expresses the the traits of each Varna to some extent, depending on the Dasha etc. running at the time of consideration, rather than having one unique Varna? This would also imply that the dominant Varna in a person would change over time. Could you suggest a method to decide the Varna (at any time) of a person from all the factors indicated in their birth chart?
On another note, in your article on the Cancer Ascendant – “the depth of disinterest” – you mention that several books have been written specifically about this ascendant. I would be much obliged if you could list a few of these books.

Does the strength / funtional malefic / benefic/ yogakarak status /etc of the upcoming new dasha for particular chart have a say in the unstable period. ?
Eg.. If someone is moving from positive rahu to negative jupiter, would dasha sandhi be worse.
Vice versa if movement was, from negative rahu to positive Jupiter placement, would dasha sandhi get even more complicated?

i have observed that nakshatra varna are more accurate than rashi varna
use the varna to analyse your innate tendency to take up certain profession/actions.
ojas can be consciously increased by doing mantra, having proper diet, behaviour and lifestyle changes.
moksh has nothing to do with varna!
do keep a sense of perspective while reading the posts.
next you might read a post on the moksh trikon or the 8th house or something and then think that you have a greater ability to use the power of your astral body as moon in the 8th or something.
if you want to get your charts analysed go to an astrologer who will take a complete view of the chart.
or learn jyotish systematically yourself.
one position does not make a reading. i have repeated this so many times.
in my blog i write on several individual topics. these have to be merged into a coherent whole. this comes with learning the subject, patience and practice
