There were several questions on the the long term trends on what is going to happen to us. I do not have time to write detailed explanations, but you can use the following to come to your own conclusions.
Right now the world is going through a horrible crisis triggered by the eclipse of 26th Dec 2019. This annular solar eclipse involved 6 planets in Sagittarius and one Rahu in Gemini, so a total of 7 planets were mixed up in this energy. The, luminaries of the zodiac, Sun and Moon are not effective during an eclipse and unable to guide us. Rahu and Ketu in the stationary or in the forward motion indicates a release of a huge quantum of pending karma during a short span of time. Anything mixed up with an eclipse means that it is karma in fast forward. Whatever you have sown, this is the time you will reap it.
Sagittarius is the foundation house ie the 9th house of the natural zodiac, and anything which disturbs the 9th house has the potential to deeply destabilise. This eclipse hit very hard and initiated several disasters, most prominently the COVID 19. Sagittarius is the natural Dharma sthan. So on an esoteric level this eclipse has triggered a clash between the Dharma and Adharma. This is evident in the daily news, these sort of clashes suddenly increased after this eclipse. Ketu at the mid-point of Sagittarius, eclipsed the sign itself and also Sun, Moon, Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn all at once, thus humanity as a whole remained apathetic to and disinterested in these many aspects of life. We failed to pay attention to these many keywords in our personal and collective life. We could not foresee the implications of our actions as Rahu at the mid point of Gemini, ie the natural 3rd house, first eclipsed the sign and its keywords. This ensured that we, as a collective, took risks which now, in retrospect, seem to be an overreach leading to disaster.
This eclipse lasted for about 5:35 hrs, so its results on the global level will last for at least 5.5yrs, ie till mid 2025. So whatever was triggered by this eclipse on the personal and global levels will continue to show its effects till this time at least. These years will also have their own eclipses and transits which will modify the effect of the trigger eclipse. Especially combinations involving 5 or more planets in a sign will add to the overall instability.
With this background let’s try to very briefly analyse the time till mid 2025.
Jupiter has the unique ability to sustain life on Earth, he is called the Jiv karak. He is the sustainer of the body, mind and the individual soul. He allows the accumulation of resources, building up of assets and ensures support from the foundations of life. A favourable and powerful Jupiter has the capacity to set things back on the auspicious track. He owns Sagittarius and is the the natural Dharmesh of the zodiac.
For an overview of trends over longer time periods, we use Jupiter as the primary agent and see how the other planets are influencing him. We try find out those time periods where Jupiter has the power to set things back on an favourable, auspicious, Dharmic track.
I have very briefly sketched out the framework, try to see if you can fill in more details yourself. For the past, I have written posts on Jupiter transits. (use the index and see if I had got it right back then)
- Jupiter in Capricorn, 2020-21 was debilitated and so practically of no use. He allowed the collective health of humanity to deteriorate, economy to collapse, resources to be diminished etc. And Saturn in Capricorn meant karma came calling in a big way and Jupiter unable to do much about it.
- Jupiter in Aquarius 2021 – 22 is also not of much use, it is an average position for him. And Saturn continues powerfully in his own Capricorn, now more dangerous in the Shravan Nakshatra and will not let Jupiter act freely.
- An eclipse on 8th Nov 2022 involving 6 planets will have an undesirable impact on the global affairs.
- Jupiter in Pisces, 2022- 23 is a ray of hope but the window that he gets is very small and in pieces, 3 mths in 2022 and 3 mths in 2023. For the rest of his stay here, 6 mths, Saturn will significantly aspect him from Capricorn, hampering his style. This will be his 3rd aspect so will give more inauspicious and extreme results.
- An eclipse on 6th May 2023 will involve 6 planets causing more confusion.
- Jupiter in Aries 2023-24 would have helped global affairs. But Saturn will be aspecting him from Aquarius throughout his time here. Again the 3rd aspect which is not encouraging.
- An eclipse on 29th Oct 2023 will involve 7 planets and cause significant instability.
- Jupiter in Taurus 2024 – 25 is in a better position to do good for us. We will see some positive changes during this time. Jupiter in the natural 2nd house of the zodiac will help us accumulate resources and live a comparatively better quality of life. And he is not affected by the major malefics, ie Saturn Rahu Ketu. Depending on the other transits and personal charts of nations/ individuals, this time can turn around things for several of us. He will again be hampered by Saturn entering Pisces in Mar 2025 and aspecting him with his 3rd aspect. In this time frame, Saturn and Rahu will conjunct in the starting degrees of Pisces and this can have a devastating effect on everyone. Jupiter will not be able to do much in this time as he will be under the influence of the Saturn+Rahu combo in his own Pisces!
- Jupiter in Gemini 2024-25 should be able to help humanity recover to some extent as he is not afflicted by major malefics, Saturn Rahu Ketu during his time here. The risks that we take will have more potential to be favourable in the long run. Economy will show some visible signs of recovery.
- In 2025 Jupiter will also briefly enter Cancer, get exalted, but he is going forwards and backwards in Cancer over a period of 3yrs, from 2025, 26, 27. A few months here and there, retrograde and forward. This means that the results expected will neither be deep nor long lasting. However there will be brief options opening up for short periods. He will be with Ketu briefly so the Guru chandal yog will operate.
Thus the 5.5yrs from the eclipse of Dec 2019 will unfold.
There are so many conjunctions, retrogression, eclipses, combustions etc which will occur during this time giving their own results. But the overall theme is of hardship and harshness. If your original birth chart is powerful enough, you will be able to make use of the windows of opportunity which will come from time to time. But overall for the world, Time is not favourable. The Bhagwan Mahakaal has awakened. We humans can start something but how this action will end is in the hands of the Bhagwan Mahakaal and Devi Mahakaali.
In your personal lives, take care of your health and finances. Most importantly follow Dharma in some way or the other. ie do your daily pujas, hold on to the mantra your Guru has given to you, practice the Gayatri mantra, practice gratefulness to the Sun, keep a living Tulsi plant in your house etc. Try to increase your internal energy in every way you can and fortify yourself. We are in for an extended period of turbulence.

An important and thought provoking post. I have been getting this deeply unsettled feeling about the state of this world and how the sands of time are fundamentally shifting and restructuring us individually and as a whole. Nothing feels the same. Interestingly, during the last transit of the nodes over Taurus/Scorpio axis (Nov 2002), SARS was first identified (again in China). Jupiter was exalted then.

Jupiter and Saturn were in capricorn for a while and only recently Jupiter moved to aquarius. My question is does jupiter attain necha bhanga because saturn is in its own sign. Although the clear affect of jupiter in capricorn is seen because of the global level suffering, just wanted to know if it applies or not.

in my personal opinion, Saturn’s presence and strength diverted the energy of Jupiter’s debilitation. but as no energy can be destroyed, so the effects will exist albeit on different levels.
Thank you for this post, the entire period starting 2020 has felt intensely karmic, I simply can’t explain, both in my personal life and globally. In my own case (Cancer ASC), Ketu (in 6th house Sag in my chart) has been in Scorpio (5th house) over my (debilitated) moon, so it has not only been severely challenging for my mental health, but shaken up the foundations of my life (home, career, marriage, life) because of Saturn (in 3rd, transiting 7th) / Jupiter (in 4th, transiting 7th & 8th) transits. At the same time, strangely spiritual experiences have come in (without my consciously trying) that have overwhelmed me because I understood how much psychological protection they gave. And I have kept my mental balance enough to complete my PhD based on quite extensive research. Calling it an intense period is an understatement. Definitely going into 2022 I feel as if I’m starting from zero again, but with a strange feeling of complete detachment.
Using Jagannath Hora, I tried looking at Vimshottari Dasha based on my Navamsa chart. It seems I’m going through my Jupiter MD, which explains this heavy experience (lagna chart is Venus MD but life doesn’t feel Venusian at all).
All matches with the tone you have described…. it’s something deep.

I feel sanatana dharmis have been having it difficult for 2000 yrs ( since devananpriya Ashoka got overtaken by hyper religious Buddhist zeal) got a break during the gupta era etc, and back to torture routine for ten centuries after that…
The ones who made it then were possibly the ones who held on to the practices you have mentioned and the ones who will continue to be atleast internally steady no matter what goes on in outer world, would be ones having some practice on hand. ( personally I think tough times are the best times to build inner core. Nobody has time for inner core when the going is easy)
So on the whole on a world perspective, I think sanatanis will still survive, they have survived worse. For the rest it must be relatively new experience of persistent tough times. 🙏

i think, from whatever research/reading i have done, there were no person called Ashok. no one converted to buddhism.
there was one king Priyadarshi whose achievements have been appropriated to Ashok. and extra fiction added to this character.
this is my opinion, which may sound weird as is not as per accepted history. but accepted history is not pure fact, but an opinion based on facts which is accepted by the majority.
the faulty thought process of the long ago Buddhists was corrected by the efforts of Adi Shankaracharya and his disciples. several then came back to Dharma, ie Advaita.
the problem with them was that they added their ego to their learning. and as most of them were also doing high energy pujas they got caught very deeply in it. several finally became very high level brahma rakshasas and are still around.
sanatan dharma just IS. it is eternal as its linked to the conscience, the Antaratma, which is eternal. the Conscience enforces the Law of Karma, it does not come from outside.
those who have taken up Adharma, karma has come calling.
those who are still sitting on the fence have precious little time to choose and act.
those who follow Dharma must hold on to it strongly.
Yes ma’am… He has been called priyadarshi .. And referred to asoka in some pillar edicts… Most of the history of the 84000 stupas has been written centuries post his lifetime.. And mainly by sri Lankan monks .. So was referring to that….

Brilliantly explained Madam. I also extend my gratitude to respected Shala ji for this discussion. It is not only history, Madam, the entire modern education system is anglicized in such a way that after these many years, I feel I learnt nothing in school, because the education system is in such a way that it only teaches western thinking in the name of development. We all simply learnt how to be western in school, that is all.
This western way of thinking of development has almost always resulted in destruction. The condition of the planet today itself is evidence to it. The costs of this development have been immense.
I am sad for example that I am typing this in English, whereas, I feel we should have been all communicating in our mother tongue, Devbhasha Sanskrutam.

Just a small sentence that got left out, it is so true that about how history is distorted and garbled to such an extent, that one could say that it is almost futile to refer to history as a subject of study anymore.
I see that Mars is traversing over Ketu on December 14th. Last time when Mars and Ketu were in Scorpio in 2002 US went to war with Iraq. Also in my personal horoscope Ketu is in Scorpio and I am going through Ketu dasha and Rahu antar. Both globally and personally it is a challenging time for me and I would love if you post something on Mars traversing Scorpio and its impact and the precautions we need to take.

Is there a range of speeds where we can consider Rahu/ketu stationary or is it strictly at a speed of 0 degrees per day? I’m not sure what the normal speed is but I have seen on various dates the speed ranging from 0.01 degrees per day to 0.05. Are those considered stationary as well?

They seem stationary when they apparently change their direction.
Obviously they never stop moving but their speed goes very slow.
I consider about 3- 5 days as their stationary phase.
Thank you! So to clarify- say if for example Rahu/Ketu go direct on Dec 2. We can say that when looking at charts for individuals born 3-5 days before this date, that these individuals will have the effects of stationary rahu/ketu that you have mentioned in earlier articles?

Saturn 2.5yrs about 10days
Rahu Ketu 1.5yrs so consider about 5-7 days avg.

If u need to call someone tht think of ur Kuldevata as ur Guru or the Suryadev etc. or Adi Shankaracharya.
Mantra is in a very low voice so tht only u can hear it , ideally mentally. Swaha is aloud.

I checked but I could only find about “Gaja Kesari”, the 6/8 axis and the generic impact under an article on the impact that grahas have over the Chandra. And i was also reading your old post on Transits and their power over you (from Feb 2020), you are absolutely right, Sun dominant people don’t believe in astrology – my dad is a good example; or rather in other words I’ve observed them to be rather adamant/somewhat ignorant about certain things – like they’ve a sense of feeling they are better or know more

students of Jyotish should understand that it is a Vedang, a Para as well as a Apara Vidya and treat it with that seriousness.
it is painful to see people who do not respect it, spoiling its name, making silly videos, making predictions without the knowledge, charging rates..
i read thru the post you mentioned and remembered that day/incident and the transits.
sometimes one knows what is going to happen yet has no power to change the course of events because the main actor is someone else. and he does not want to change things.
then one can just try to protect oneself, divert it, reduce its intensity or finally endure it..

This is also the reason why i keep my astro endeavors hidden from my close ones. Astrology in itself is very very vast and requires constant practice to strike accurate predictions. Because of this very innate nature it becomes quite interesting when investigating/looking for patterns or searching answers for deep questions in the chart
