Jyotish has several techniques which help give accurate predictions. A astrology technique post today. (Navamsha posts are based on CS Patel’s work.)
One navamsha arc of 3deg 20min, exactly corresponds to one quarter of the nakshatra. 108 navamsha (9×12) and 108 nakshatra quarters (27×4). The navamsha arc is the same as the nakshatra pads (lunar mansion quarters).
If you analyse the transits at this level especially for the slow moving planets, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu, you can get some really precise predictions.
Saturn fascinates my readers the most, so I will take Saturn’s transit as an example.
First to understand this “table of navamsha signs”.
- The first column has the arc ‘degrees of signs’ of the 9 navamsha in a sign. Each navamsha covers a 3deg 20min arc of the zodiac so there are 9 navamsha arcs in a 30 deg sign.
- The top row has the 12 signs, from Aries to Pisces, ie the Mesha to Meena rashi.
- In the column of Aries/Mesha, you see the 1-9 navamsha of Aries. They are ruled by the signs from Aries to Sagittarius, these are given as numbers from 1-9. ie the first navamsha arc is owned by Aries itself/1. The second arc by Taurus/2 and so forth.
- In the column Taurus/Vrishabha, the its 9 navamsha are ruled by the 9 signs starting from Capricorn/10 to Virgo/6.
- And similarly for the other signs.
- eg if your ascendant degree is in 14deg Cancer/Karka, it will be allotted to Scorpio navamsha.
- eg if your Jupiter is at 1deg Pisces/Meena then he will be allotted to Cancer navamsha.
Saturn stays in one navamsha, ie a 3deg 20 min arc in the skies, for approx 1-3 months. He completes his round around the 360deg zodiac in 30yrs. He tends to go forwards and retrograde for months, has different speeds etc so its approx 1-3 months per navamsha.
At present he is in Capricorn sign. Currently in the Shravan nakshatra. Capricorn sign contains nine navamsha belonging to the nine signs from Capricorn to Virgo. Shravan lunar mansion is made of the four quarters which are the four navamsha owned by the four signs from Aries to Cancer. So to put it together, 14th Nov 2021, Saturn is in Taurus navamsha which is the same as the Shravan nakshatra 2nd pad/quarter, in the Capricorn sign.
He was retrograde from 23rd May 2021 to 10th Oct 2021. So in this year that he has transited over this Shravan 2nd quarter three times in total, forwards, backwards and now forwards again.
The Janma navtara chakra
The example chart. Aleister Crowley, 12th Oct 1875, 11: 42pm, Leamington Spa, Britain. He is dead and has a reasonably well-known life, happening on several levels, a good study subject.
Birth Moon is Poorvabhadrapada nakshatra, this lunar mansion lies in Pisces sign. He was born in the 4th quarter of Poorvabhadrapada, so birth Moon is in a Navamsha owned by Cancer sign.
(This post on the Janma Navtara chakra, it is useful in several ways. Find the lunar mansion occupied by your birth Moon, the ‘Janma nakshatra’. Next find out the nakshatra’s specific pad/quarter in which the Moon was at the time of your birth.)
We are taking it down to the navamsha levels here. I have also written the quarter/pad number, so this chakra is technically called the Janma navtara amsha chakra for Crowley.

Crowley’s birth Moon in the 4th pad of a nakshatra, so whenever a planet crosses the specific 4th pad of any nakshatra, it will always give him a definite tangible result. This result will depend on what this planet stands for in the life. You know that Saturn is right now favourable for Pisces moon sign overall, so his overall transit in Capricorn sign will be auspicious for Crowley. But if you want to pinpoint the actual occurrence of a specific favourable result, then this table helps narrow down the prediction to a window of 1 month or so.
So, for Crowley, when Saturn transits the Shravan 4th pad, this would be the Naidhana Tara amsha. To predict what kind of results, we have to analyse the karakatva of Saturn. He is the ruler of the 7th and 8th house from the ascendant sign so is a class one malefic. It would be an overall bad time for him with endings of several types, turmoil in the keywords related to Saturn. But because Saturn is overall favourable for Pisces sign, things will not go really bad. Or he will gain something positive from the things which are going to end.
Note one more thing.
This year, Saturn entered Shravan nakshatra, reached its 3rd quarter and turned retrograde. He moved backwards through 3rd 2nd and 1st quarters. Then while sitting in the 1st pad, he turned forwards again. Going forward, he is again travelled in quarters 1st 2nd 3rd.
- So if your personal birth Moon is in the 1st 2nd 3rd quarter of your birth Nakshatra then Saturn would have given you more ups and downs as compared to people who were born in the 4th pad of any Nakshatra. As Saturn would have crossed over your birth lunar mansion quarter, ie Janma navtara amsha, three times in this year 2021.
So open your own Janma navtara chakra and see what Tara Shravan is for you.
- If Shravan is your Janma tara, Vipat tara, Pratyak tara or Naidhana tara and if you were born in the 1st 2nd 3rd quarters of any Nakshatra then you must have experienced a lot of fluctuations in your life connected to Saturn in 2021 which would have caused you significant strain.
- If you were born in the 4th quarter of any Nakshatra, then you are luckier. You will be facing Saturn in the Shravan 4th quarter for a brief period, 21 Jan – 17 Feb 2022 that too in his direct motion. Whatever he brings for you will not be revised or reviewed as he does not turn retrograde in these degrees in this cycle, it will be his final result for this cycle. So again, be careful if he is in the Janma, Vipat, Pratyak or Naidhana for you, he can give severe stresses. Reasonably average results for Kshema and Mitra. And expect good results for Sampat, Sadhaka and Atimitra, if Saturn is auspicious for you.
This is how you can understand and predict the results of planets, forward and retrograde using the Nakshatra quarters/Navamsha coupled with the transit results.
The 64th Navamsha.
One more technique, linked to the navamsha transits.
The Khara navamsha, 64th, its energies are similar to the Khara Drekkana. It lies in your 8th house. Significant transits of planets over this, especially of malefic planets, will cause some sort of ‘endings’ in your life. This can even be your own or your close family member’s physical death in case the longevity of the chart is at an end. Use the table of the navamsha signs above to find the 64th Navamsha starting from your birth Moon navamsha and from the ascendant degree navamsha. So you will get two significant navamshas, both of which can be called the 64th navamsha. The one counted from the Moon will give endings linked more to emotions and the one linked to the ascendant degree will give endings more on the material side.
Eg. for Crowley, the Khara navamsha,
- from the birth Moon is the 1st navamsha of the Libra sign, owned by Libra itself. He should brace himself for emotional shocks whenever a planet crosses this span of the zodiac arc.
- and from the ascendant degree is the 5th navamsha of the Capricorn sign owned by Taurus. So he should be ready for some unpleasant change in his material / physical environment whenever a planet crosses these degrees in the skies.
From this table, if your birth Moon or ascendant degree in Gemini sign – Aquarius navamsha, then Saturn currently at Shravan 2nd quarter, is transiting your Khara navamsha. Currently in the skies, Saturn is powerful and forward in his own sign and Mercury, (owner of Gemini) is debilitated in Libra. As you already know that this Saturn transit is not favourable for Gemini sign, he is transiting 8th from it. But to pinpoint the exact timing of the unfavourable results, use the Khara navamsha. So if you were born in Gemini sign Capricorn navamsha, ie your birth Moon or ascendant degree falls in this then you might be facing severe turmoil in life at this point of time, some things may have ended for you. You will get some relief after Saturn moves out from the 2nd quarter Shravan.
Next Saturn will enter the Shravan 3rd quarter, this is the 64th Navamsha for Gemini sign – Pisces navamsha borns. These people should take care then during his this upcoming transit.
When a slow moving planet transits the 64th navamsha, the things that this planet signifies in your life might come to a final end. Thus whatever Saturn signifies in your life may come to a conclusion during his this transit. eg If Saturn is connected to your 4th house then you may have to sell your house. Or if you have a birth planet in your Khara navamsha, you may be separated from what it means to you during this sensitive time. eg if he signifies your physical mother then take care of her during this time.
If there are any planets in the khara navamsha at birth then these planets will not be able to give very stable or satisfying results in life.
Some more ideas for you to explore with your sample charts,
The elements, the Nakshatra pad and the Navamsha. If you analyse the sequence of the navamsha in the nakshatra, then you will observe that the
- The 1st nakshatra pad/ navamsha is owned by fiery signs, Agni rashi ie Aries, Leo, Sagittarius. These are the natural Dharma trikon
- The 2nd nakshatra pad/navamsha is owned by earthy signs, Pruthvi rashi ie Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, which make up the natural Arth trikon
- The 3rd nakshatra pad/navamsha is owned by airy signs, Vayu rashi ie Gemini, Libra, Aquarius, the natural Kama trikon
- The 4th nakshatra pad/navamsha is owned by watery signs, Jal rashi ie Cancer Scorpio Pisces the natural Moksh trikon.
So as a planet, especially a slower moving one, transits through the Nakshatra quarters, he sequentially change the flavour of his result from Dharma, Arth, Kama and finally Moksh. The planet initiates an activity, gives it meaning, fulfils all desires associated with that activity and finally saturates you with the experiences of that activity. Then he is ready to move on into the activity indicated by the next Nakshatra in sequence. This cycle repeats endlessly.
You can similarly analyse current events using Jupiter’s navamsha transits, he stays in one navamsha for about 1.5 months or so. Eg in the current time if he is in a positive Tara amsha for you then he will grant you something that is pleasing to your mind, eg the if he stands for your life partner, you will be given a chance to be reunited with him/ her.
eg Today Jupiter is in Dhanishtha 2nd quarter. For Crowley, Dhanishtha is his Mitra tara, so during this time the Jupiter things/ people will be more friendly disposed towards him. But if Jupiter has to give him some specific result then this will be more likely during 15th – 31st Dec 2021 as Jupiter then will be transiting the Dhanishtha 4th pad, ie the specific Mitra tara amsha.
Rahu and Ketu stay in one navamsha for about 1 month or so. As they are kroor graha their way of giving results will be always turbulent. After this turbulence, if they are auspicious for you then they will give pleasing results or if not then unfavourable results are to be expected.
Try to refine your predictive ability by observing your sample charts, the events in these people’s lives and the movement of the planets in the skies.

there is nothing called ‘lilith’ in Jyotish.
there are the 9 graha, 27 (28) nakshatra, 12 rashi, 12 bhava, that is it.
if you want to get into more depth, read about the upagraha, these are mathematical points calculated to get more precise information. there are 10 of these points.

nothing wrong about the ‘occult’. wrote a few posts on it.
regular people do not understand how to use energy in its raw form so call it occult and are scared of it. if your chart has some potential then you can pursue it.
just remember one thing, if you ever get scared of something, generally it means that your mind does not want to process it,
so in your journey into the occult, if you feel terrified of something it means that your mind is incapable of dealing with it. in this case do your mantra jaaps, until your mind feels confident about it. do not push forward till your mind is confident.
in short, do your mantra jaap.
the most powerful and effective mantra is for Devi Chamunda, ie gain siddhi over the Navavarna mantra, and then use the mantra of the Devi Mahatmya. wrote on it too.

ie you are leaving one dimension and entering other, very critical time.
i wrote several, 7-8 posts on physical death, use the index page or the search bar.
on the logical side, obviously making a will and other practical necessities.
on the spiritual side, pujas of the kuldevata, complete any pending pitru-tarpan (if a man) and follow the directions of the Guru
and specifically Mahamrutyunjai mantra jaap. Put yourself in the hands of the mantra, let it guide you. if you are to recover, it will do it. if you are to physically leave, it will do it smoothly.

Coming to this post,If suppose ones moon nakshatra falls in dhanishta 4 and ascendant degree falls in purvaphalguni 1,then in that case WRT Moon nakshatra the ascendant degree is in Naidana tara.
How does one interpret this,the quotient between say the emotional and physical manifested…

From what I understand from your posts so far,Moon nakshatra takes precedence. .
In which case is it that ascendant degree is an ‘ appointed ending’ from moon’s nakshatra..
How to make sense of this placement..

soul evolution is important, the power of the chart esp Lagnesh, Moon and Sun have to cooperate. an unafflicted auspicious Moon is the best thing that a chart can have. this person will be sensible, aware of things others do for him, feel the love with which things are being done for him, ie feel the higher emotions, gratitude included.

it is a palmistry book by MIhiracharya.
basically you take a print of your palm on a white paper. then there are several formulae. you count the horizontal or vertical lines as per the formula multiply divide etc. its a bit tedious as you are required to count the fine lines too.. there are different formulae for the vaar, tithi, paksha, etc.
i think there are a few books in hindi on how to do this. but basically from Mihiracharya

May I can ask you two questions?
1.Do you take in consideration the 6/8 Axis if there is a difference of more than 15 degrees? Eg, Moon is in the 1 degree, and Saturn in the 8th house from it, in 20 degree….so actually it would be the 8th house plus 19 degrees of difference….
2.I have read your post on “Spiritual practice, Marathons and Wins” (https://psychologicallyastrology.com/2020/02/16/spiritual-practice-marathons-and-wins/)… May I can ask you about the karmic impact aside of the deep internal turmoil of the soul after loosing the run?
The Person that runs, may already acquired different Siddhis, and may have had even students – do these Siddhis disappear as well? Teaching will be blocked? Or does the energy interrupt only for further realisation? And what happen to that “girl” that provoked the fall? Will there be some issue of bad karma as well?
Is there any astrological indications? May such a fall be triggered in Rahu Mahadasha?
And why does it take several lifes to bring it in order again?

yes, tht draft.
if they are more than +- 15 deg from that center point of the aspect then i do not consider that they are influencing each other.
they might influence each other’s sign or house to some extent. so there will be an indirect influence.
karmic impact is very intense. you have failed to control your mind at such a high level. so the Vasana and the karma created will be very deep rooted. will take more efforts to get over it in the next attempt.
that is why genuine aspirants go out of society and take sanyas. they cut off the possibility getting caught in the Maya-jaal at such deep levels.
siddhis are linked to the body. as you leave the physical body, siddhis are finished.
teacher – students karma if finished then as the body dies its over.
teaching will be blocked for a few lives till you enjoy/endure whatever had caused you to lose focus on your self
once you have experienced all that you wnted you will be born in a family where you will be given the necessary foundation to prepare for and to continue on your path.
i wrote ‘girl’ just fr making it a story. it can be a desire for anything which gets triggered at that level. desire for eating some food, for going to some pilgrimage, to get married, anything that hits your mind. ‘girl’ need not be an actual girl.
but if an actual person has troubled, harmed, disturbed a genuine sadhak in any manner, then the karmic implications are going to be horrible for that person. Depending on the act of that person and his intention, he may actually be denied further births, ie remain in Timir Andh or at the least be required to serve the sadhak in some way.
there are several stories where Rishis doing Tap were disturbed by people/ asur etc and they cursed these people.
Rahu, 6th lord, Shukra, will take their tests.
Rahu Mahadasha for a spiritual aspirant wil be very typical. he will gain siddhis during this period and then lose his head by the end, get into the ego trap.
a few lives will go in enjoying that desire which you wanted to.
then some more lives in enduring that desire, the enjoyment has to be balanced out.
few more in a state of shock and confusion
a lot in recovering the spiritual strength
a few more in finally doing it and reaching till Sadyo Mukti.

All the sacred texts of different systems point to this identification of this ” I ” with every thing else varying from minute subtlities to gross bodies & events.
The mind body mechanism based on the predominant vasanas acts accordingly to it’s scipt.
mam , since a moment a child is born he is introduced & comes in contact with its environmental influence , thought processes and conditioning ; this process continuing since eons of lives one has lived and the lives he has touched & has been touched by.
Mam , the only choice to break free from this dream is a sort of waking up from this vicious circle. This waking up & wanting to realize oneself is itself a part of dream , right ? . The only freewill that seems to me is in waking up ; that self awareness that instigates us to search after our true selves.

for an average person i would say that 99.9% is predetermined. but that 0.1% choice is nonetheless very important as it is exercised at significant times in life.
perspective is very important.
from the point of view of the Jivan mukt all this does not exist as his consciousness is at another level, he is at the eternal foundation energy, ie literally the ‘Sanatan Dharma’ and he sees no change, everything is the same eternal foundation.

i went through all your articles related to these again & again to do my best in my limited understanding of this divine science.
here venus ( Dhanishta ) , Jupiter & ketu ( both in Shatabhisha asterism of mystical rahu ) are conjunct in 6th house of Serve or suffer , in humanitarian mystical sign aquarius . Rahu & ketu are vargottam in navamsha. venus & jupiter gain their own navamshas libra (4th H) & pisces (9th H). Jupiter is in pushkaramsha .
Since jupiter ( learning & knowledge ) + venus ( true love & moksha karaka ) + Ketu ( detachment & moksha karaka) . It implies that the person has to provide affection , care , love & knowledge ( healing abilities of shatabisha ) with no expectations & detachment( Ketu ). The person has also to take care of over extension too . Plus some psychic abilities may be present. The 6th house owner Saturn is with sun (12th house lord )itself in pisces with others too. Thus parivartan yoga too between 6th & 7th.
Ketu will also hold back the maturity of Jupiter & Venus till 48. And these two will influence one another’s house subtly.

What does the 16 th para say? Is it beneficial to do homa with Shri sukta? How is it done?
Is it okay to get a brass meru Sri yantra ? We had seen a clear quartz Sri yantra of 1500 grams last year but it was priced quite steeply at 8 l.

you can get a shri yantra made in any metal or stone you want. i know a few people who have got it made on shaligram.
this price is insanely high!
you should buy a shri yantra from haridwar or rishikesh from some wholesale dealer.
my shri yantra is i think 1.5 – 2 kgs in sphatik, it was fr some 8k or so rs, 7 or 8 yrs ago.
you can even draw the shri chakra on paper, if you have some idea of the geometrical construction. even that will work. as it carries the same power.
or even better would be to draw it on Bhojpatra with kesar. that would be real power. i havent done it but as i was writing this comment, i realised that it can be made into a talisman and worn if needed.
our ancient jnyan of tantra mantra yantra was just so much! i wish we regain all that knowledge ans also the capacity to use it in the right way.

Maam, I know of people ( in my circle too) who comment and love certain videos on you tube posted by some very famous comedians where they have mocked our deities and cracked vile jokes.
These same guys after rolling over in laughter will also wear a ring if some astrologer tells and visit a temple if a favour is needed.

How is it interpreted….which one takes precedence…

I want to know about hypnagogic hallucination. Sometimes I wake up in night and I see different images on tree outside my window, like lanterns shape hanging. My conscious says why am I seeing Lantern shape instead of leaves shape. It stays like that until I am awake for longer time. Sometimes I saw cloud on ceiling. I see different image on 3d flower painting which I removed from my room.
Is it some chemical problem in my mind, hallucination or could it be altered state. How to know what I am experiencing and should I pay attention to it?

I was reading through the kundalini articles- is it correct to say that one only can achieve moksh if/when the kundalini reaches the sahastrara chakra?

I do have a question about preserving Tulasi plant in cold weather assuming you live in cold climate in Himalayas. Whether it’s my chosen karma or for karmic rebalancing, I ended up in a place where 6-8 months of the year is cold weather. Despite conscious efforts of conserving plants kept inside during winter weather, by end of dec/ beginning of Jan, struggle to keep them alive. Feel really bad when Tulasi plant also starts losing its vitality! And every summer they invariably come back (a big Thank you to Devi Lakshmi🙏). Could you please be generous to prescribe some tips to keep these plants alive indoor during winter weather?

I live in a place with the same issue. Its so cold.
After facing the same problem the first few years, i have converted one room into a hothouse. Acrylic sheet roof and 2 walls. I keep one tulsi one darbha grass one banyan seedling etc in pots in it. Generally they manage to pull thru. But this year its very cold. I hope they stay.
Fr tulsi u have to keep removing its flowers. I put them on my deities in the dev ghar. If it seeds it will die.
Ah ok, so that’s the trick! I have been plucking & offering the leaves to the deities in the Pooja room thinking that i can use the seeds for next planting season..:) Thank you Ji for the tip🙏
And yes, many here have done this conversion to hot rooms or even building a new hot room. Haven’t done it yet… was looking to see if there’s any easy technique to preserve Tulasi & other plants since you seem to know a lot of magic tricks in daily life 🙂

If a person dies on such a date that his fifteenth/ sixteenth day (after death) falls in the next month (according to Hindu calendar, not the Gregorian/ English calendar), will there be another death in the family? This comment thread has given rise two questions from me. Since 99.9% of regular householders lives are predetermined is it also fixed if a person will take some action to work on his issues/chart ? I mean you have said in previous posts that when you look a chart you can tell of the person will do remedies with conviction or not and often times it is not fruitful to counsel clients who you know will not take action. Their inability to do something about their life is also predetermined? Is it because they are so tightly bound by their karma in this life that they have not given themselves permission to do remedies to mitigate their issues? In that situation, their only hope is to use that 0.1% freewill and commit to some action?
It’s very hard to watch another person (especially in the family) go through struggles but won’t to even simple measures to help themselves because ” they don’t believe in this stuff” I suppose my karma of watching helplessly is also involved in this tangle. Thankfully my practice and blog is helping my own self to avoid too much entanglement.
My second question is about Akaala Marana. If a person’s physical body death is fixed ( by fixed number of breaths I learned from your post) how does this untimely death even occur. Who has the power to cause body death before the number of breaths is not completed?

I need your advice, when I come back from work, sometimes places of travel will be 4hrs of journey, to/fro. In which case the body will be so tired and the backbone says to sleep. However there is another voice which says to fo dhyana, coz I’m breaking the continuity. What should I do? Should I continue listening to voice that says to do dhayana or to the voice which says to take rest.

My Satguru was a Jivan Mukt, ie only Atma-bhav was present, ie he was aware of his Self as the paramatma always.
his energy level was totally out of this world, literally.

anyways, the brahmins who perform pujas for my family have deha-bhav, loads of it, ie they think of themselves as the body, ie spiritually not elevated. most follow the vaishya-dharma of putting a rate on their pujas. and most do not have good auras either.
as a mark of my respect i touch the ground at their feet, because of my respect for the Brahmin dharma.
there are a few Brahmins who are Karma-kandi, ie do high levels of personal pujas, have elevated themselves. so yes touching my forehead to the ground before them is a good way of showing respect.
there are some sanyasis who follow typical rules regarding others and being touched by others. we do not know. so best is to not touch them directly. offending a genuine sadhak is not a good karma.
but putting my forehead directly on the feet? that complete samarpan only for my Guru. and as a token of respect for my parents.

1. i wrote on this somewhere.
we have a very complex but logical way of keeping time, we used to observe the skies, sun, moon, nakshatra, their apparently movements against each other etc.
when these uncultured and uneducated invaders entered Bharat, they attacked the universities and temples which were the centers of learning, research and most importantly time-keeping.
Asur, Rakshasa, Danav have been doing this in all history. Destroying places and people which were home to wisdom, learning and knowledge.
wont go into all the math, but we had different definitions, lunar, solar and the final luni-solar of the term ‘year’ or ‘varsh’. we had the adhik-maas to make up for the differences in the solar and the lunar. the luni-solar systems coincided every 5 years with the lunar and the solar. we had the 5-year yug cycle operating. this is on even now.
but then we knew that even after doing the adhik-maas correction there was one extra tithi every luni-solar year .
so we had one more cycle, ie the 30year cycle. in this we had the first 15yrs to be Amanta, and in the second 15yrs set to have purnimant months. We used to this correct the extra tithi/year. So the Krishna paksh of the adhik maas at the end of the 15th year was dropped as a kshay paksh. and the Shukla paksha of the adhik-maas at the end of the 30th year was dropped as a kshaya paksha. So we had the perfect time-keeping in aline with the sun and the moon both.
So I think that Dakshin Bharat main time-keeping temples were destroyed when they were in the Amant phase of the 30yrs cycle was on and D B remained stuck in this.
And the Uttar Bharat main time keeping temples were destroyed in their Purnimant phase of the 30yrs cycle and U B remained stuck in that.
Now both are incorrect.
but because there are no more time-keepers, best go with whatever your family follows.

Shri Ram Janma – midday tithi
Shri Krishna Janma – midnight tithi
Etc.
3. Personally, I do not interfere chemically with the cycle. Let it happen naturally. I have seen this, the event does not want you to be a part of it becoz you have no karma with it. Or the event does want you to be a part of it and your cycle naturally gets preponed or postponed.
4. How do I know this?
