A partial Lunar Eclipse is coming up on 19th Nov 2021.

  • Penumbral Eclipse begins 19 Nov 06:02:09 UTC
  • Partial Eclipse begins 07:18:42 UTC
  • Maximum Eclipse 09:02:55 UTC
  • Partial Eclipse ends 10:47:04 UTC
  • Penumbral Eclipse ends 19 Nov 12:03:40 UTC
  • Total eclipse duration of the eclipse is 6 hours, 2 minutes.
  • Duration of the partial eclipse is 3 hours, 28 minutes.

Map (from timeanddate.com)

www.psychologicallyastrology.com

  • The white colored areas will not witness the eclipse.
  • The light purple colored areas in the map will see only the penumbral eclipse, this does not carry the real power of the eclipse. People living here are not required to follow the rules regarding the eclipse. The shadowing of the Moon will not be visible here.
  • The dark purple colored areas will see the actual umbral eclipse which is the real thing. People living in these areas will have to take all precautions regarding the eclipse.

For India / Bharat, The effects of the lunar eclipse last for as many weeks as many hours it was visible in an area. So for us, the effect will be very less on the national level and on the regional level it will subside in 1-2 weeks.

  • the umbral eclipse (dark purple colored at the eastern tip) is only visible in the eastern most tip, ie the eastern parts of Arunachal Pradesh and eastern tip of Assam will briefly see the partial lunar eclipse. People living here will have to take the precautions for this brief time.

Now for the astrological configuration.

  • Moon is transiting in Kruttika nakshatra in Taurus and will be under the influence of Rahu.
  • Sun in Vishakha and Ketu in Anuradha in Scorpio.
  • Mercury in Vishakha in Libra, he is combust.
  • Saturn in Shravan nakshatra in Capricorn.
  • Jupiter in Dhanishtha nakshatra, Capricorn aspecting Taurus with his 5th aspect. This influence is not very strong as Jupiter is almost out of Capricorn and Moon is just entering Taurus. But Jupiter is still technically debilitated.
  • Venus in Poorvashadha nakshatra in Sagittarius.
  • Mars in Swati nakshatra, Libra. He too is combust, he will come out of combustion on 20th Nov.
  • The planets involved are obviously Moon, Rahu, Sun, Ketu. But we will also consider the additional influence of Mercury and Mars because of their combust state.

Nakshatra involved are,

  • Krutika,
  • Vishakha
  • Anuradha.

Moon with Rahu is called a Shakti yog as described by Rishi Jaimini. This happens every month for 2.25days in transit. If you observe yourself and your surroundings on these days you can sense the effect of this yog in transit too. The upcoming eclipse will to some extent express this Shakti yog energy. Moon is in his highest degree of exaltation and its a Pourima, full Moon, he has maximum paksha bala too! This is a rare opportunity for people who are going to experience this eclipse. Do use the eclipse energy in some productive way.

www.psychologicallyastrology.com

Analysis of the Nakshatra involved

Krutika Nakshatra lies partially in Aries 1/4th and in Taurus 3/4th. The Nakshatra devata is Agni. Rahu in Krutika is a typical position and we are seeing his effects. Now we have to factor in the Moon and his eclipse. Destruction of life in several ways as the nourishing energy fails, overall vitality will reduce. Creativity will be used for destruction. Misguided violence in several forms, ie harshness, ego, pride, short temper, accidents, rash behaviour, etc, there will be an increased desire to solve issues by fighting. Desire to show off physical or military abilities. There will be a requirement to defend oneself in different ways, eg maybe someone attacks, insults or someone tries to snatch your things by force. Possibility of being misguided in love, one to one, or personal relationships is high. Diplomacy, social harmony, rest, etc will all be pushed into the background. Any relationships broken during this time will not be easy to repair. Spoilage of useful things will increase. Body parts connected to Krutika are face and neck, so ailments connected to these areas can be triggered.

Vishakha nakshatra lies partially in Libra 3/4th and in Scorpio 1/4th. It is linked to Jupiter and ruled by Indra Agni. Sun and Mercury are in Vishakha during the eclipse. Political and military posturing will increase, but there will be an inability take proper decisions. Self centric and ambitious political leaders will prefer to divine and rule. Some critical secrets will come out in the open. But mostly people will try to hide their real motives and try underhand means to gain what they want. Violence, impulsiveness and ruin will be expected in some areas of life. A turbulent, self destructive streak will run high during this time. Again diplomacy, social interactions, rest etc will not be allowed. Body parts are kidneys, adrenals and the lower abdomen, diseases related to these areas are possible.

Anuradha nakshatra lies completely within the Scorpio sign. During the eclipse Ketu will be in Anuradha. Illusions are Rahu which mesmerise everyone and Ketu is the reality which is ignored. What is really happening at the Rahu’s end has to seen from Ketu’s position in Anuradha. It is ruled by Mitra and linked to Saturn. Saturnine energies magnified by the limitless Ketu means past Karma due in a big way. This can create confrontations, threatening situations, loss of livelihood, sudden deaths, communal violence, fanaticism, a sense of rebellion, everyone wanting to break free from whatever is binding them. Several will leave their physical bindings too. Body parts linked to Anuradha are reproductive organs, hips, lower abdomen, which can cause trouble. Drain on ‘reserves’, ie health, spiritual or financial or any other type of stored reserves. Actions may be required for self-preservation. ‘Sensitivity’ will increase, so mental issues are possible. He is in a Pushkar navamsha, so as long as the energies of the eclipse remain active, he will deny support. Especially intense effects are possible from mid-Dec 2021 to mid-Feb 2022, positive or negative will be determined by the individual charts.

www.psychologicallyastrology.com

Effects on the nations.

The intensity of the effect will depend on for how long the nations saw the eclipse over their territory. If the national capital is involved then the effect will be more intense and affect the entire nation. This is a long eclipse, so its effect on the global levels will persist for about 6-7 months in some way or the other. To begin with there will be a decrease in temperatures, winters this year will be colder than expected. Rainfall, hail and snowfall will be more than the norm and cause destruction. Military posturing will increase. Governments will take strict actions and decisions. Advice given will be more on the lines of what the people in power want to hear rather than the genuine thing.

We can get more information per the Navnayak scheme of things for this year, Shri Plava naam samvatsara. Of the 9 posts possible, 7 are directly affected. Mars is King, Commander, Flowing things, Clouds. Jupiter is Food grains. Moon is Essences causing positivity. In addition the eclipse itself is in Taurus, ruled by Venus – Essences which cause negativity. So temporarily all these will be afflicted. Only Saturn – agriculture is apparently out of the eclipse energies in this scheme. (Edit:But he is in a Navamsha owned by Taurus, so involved in a subtle way)

Effects on the individuals – These effects will be evident on you only if you are living in areas where this eclipse is visible. Significant effects will be seen on individuals with

  • Birth Moon conjunct Ketu or Rahu.
  • Birth Moon or even ascendant degree in Kruttika, Uttaraphalguni or Uttarashada nakshatra.
  • Birth Moon or ascendant sign in Vishakha, Punarvasu and Poorvabhadrapada.
  • Taurus or Scorpio as birth Moon sign or Ascendant.
  • Cancer and Leo birth Moon or ascendants should always be careful during all eclipses, karmic overload is possible.
  • If you are going through dasha periods of Moon, Sun, Rahu, Ketu these are common for all eclipses. But in addition, this time also Jupiter’s dasha periods.

Pregnant women must be careful. Best option is for this time duration, to sit in front of the puja ghar, household gods, altar etc and read something spiritual. Do not do any work or any other activity, just sit comfortably, read the texts or mentally recite some mantra or stotra, hymns etc.

Positive results can be expected for the following signs, if you do pujas during the eclipse and have a supportive birth/ transit chart.

  • Pisces birth Moon are again in the best position to gain from this eclipse, its occurring in the 3rd house from the birth Moon.
  • Sagittarius birth Moons are in the last phase of their sade-sati so it is hard for them. This eclipse in the 6th house can grant some positivity.
  • Cancer birth Moons will see some positivity as the eclipse in the 11th can help.
  • Capricorn and Virgo birth Moons can gain if you do pujas during the eclipse.

Eclipses are a burst of energy. So if you can channelise it you can gain else you will be swept away in its flow. So its always recommended that you do some sort of mantra, jaap, puja etc spiritual activity during the eclipse. Rahu and Ketu are astral forces and the Sun and the Moon are your highest chakras, Sahsarara and Ajnya. Some spiritual practice during the eclipse can grant both spiritual and material benefits. This time can grant some important insights, solutions if you remain focussed on your objective. You can use this time to get rid of old negative habits and start on a new leaf. Rahu will try to emotionally mess things up, but if the Mind can remain focussed on its purpose then this lunar eclipse energy can be harnessed for the greater good.

    Namaste Mam,

Not a very intelligent question, but thought knowing the answer will help someday!

Can a person living in a not visible region purposely travel to any of the eclipse visible region and stay till the end of the eclipse to channelise the energy by doing some sort of spiritual activity? Will it help or will it be like walking into danger?

    Thank you!

      Hi there
if you want to do it you can.
but also be very clear on what sadhana you want to do and where as some locations may have issues.

eg if you go from Mumbai to Rishikesh and sit in the Ganga then it will be wonderful.

      1. vyomakawdikar Avatar

        Follow up q:

So will this still be the case irrespective of the chart details of that person?

      2. astrologerbydefault Avatar

        Hi there
anyone can sit at the Ganga or any tirth-kshetra, esp with flowing water/sea for pujas during the eclipse.
however the quantum of energy will be very very high. so attempt this only if you have been doing something already and you are prepared in advance. ie serious practitioners will prepare themselves a month or so in advance of such powerful events.

      3. vyomakawdikar Avatar

So if a person is not able to be in any teertha kshetra, can the sadhana be possible?
I, honestly, had not even thought about this idea till I came across the comment/query and asking this out of genuine curiosity.

      4. astrologerbydefault Avatar

        Hi there
do sadhana on your asan in your home,
the dev ghar in your house carries the same type of energy.

      5. vyomakawdikar Avatar

I remember reading a post regarding the right type of Asan but I cannot find that post.
I would like to get one made though.

I have recently started practicing Reiki. Can I do that during/before/after the eclipse?

Also, my husband is agnostic (more towards atheism). I struggle a lot to continue learning and practicing when he’s around. Post Covid, he’s always home. In the process we don’t end up praying, cleaning, etc. the Dev and the Dev Ghar.
Also, I cannot support my beliefs with logical arguments as he expects – scientific proof, etc. And sometimes I do get confused as well plus yes, I am not too religious either coz my Dad was the same. As is my Father in Law (he’s the most atheist/practical of the lot yet the MOST supportive person in my life). I lived with my Maushi for a while before getting married and that’s when/how the beliefs were cultivated.
        But the confusion stayed.

You write a lot about Karma and it’s very insightful. Even in the current article you mentioned about it. So far, my understanding on Karma was quite basic or general – tit for tat, but reading all this made me realize that it is not as straightforward. So I wonder if and how all this is somehow related to my Karma.

You have also mentioned that your Karma of reading horoscopes is dissolved. That is so profoundly intriguing.
Would like to read and understand more about this and may be eventually figure more about myself.

      6. vyomakawdikar Avatar

I just posted a very long response but it’s disappeared somehow 🤷🏻‍♀️

I checked back in to Thank You for your article on Svarbhanu. So insightful.

        *Long post alert*

Summarizing my previous comment again (that was somehow lost):

        – Asan : can’t find the article about it.
        – Reiki : recently started practicing it. Is that something I can do aa Sadhana during this eclipse.
        – my Husband is agnostic (borderline atheist) and very practical so learning and practicing Astrology/Reiki gets more difficult when he’s around and keeping regular cleaning/praying habits for the Deva and Dev Ghar is a struggle. My Dad was the same.
        – My Father in-law is also an atheist and the most practical person I’ve met yet he’s incredibly supportive of anything and everything I do.
        – I lived with my Maushi for a few years before getting married and that how/when the interest and beliefs were cultivated.

        Coming to the point:
You always mention Karma in your articles and it is very intriguing for me. So far, Karma was a very straightforward idea for me (just like it is for most people – tit for tat). Your articles, however, made me realize that this is way more complicated and profound concept. I wonder if and how this situation of mine (& others) are affected by Karma and if I can do anything to make this better. The constant conflict is consuming.

You have also mentioned that your Karma of reading horoscopes is dissolved. How does one know when their Karma is dissolved and if so, what next?
I would be interested in knowing/understanding more on this subject and understand myself better.

        Thank You so so much!!

        Reiki – yes.

No one is agnostic or atheist. These words come frm the west, where they have limited understanding of Dharma. And think “religion” is Dharma!
Does he believe in 1+1=2 or a circle has 360deg? Or tht Sun is the source if all energy on earth? then math or geometry or Sun would b his foundation Dharma.
We also consider math ie Shunya 0 is a fundamental energy fr us. And the shri chakra is the fundamental geometry .
The dev ghar is a representative of the Dharma u believe in. It acts as a focus point. Helps the Mind in so many ways. If u keep it dirty then ur mind will also b restless.
I wouldn’t mind drawing a shunya and putting it in my dev ghar as a ‘deity’. I do have a shaligram, its the spiral energy in all creation (fibonacci sequence in modern words)
I feel actually happy when i solve complicated math problems, its no less than what i feel when i do my Dhyan.
Sanatan Dharma is the most expansive thought process u can imagine.
Even following the relationship of a husband ir wife etc is Dharma.

All your articles related to Eclipses are very insightful. Thank You 🙏🏽

I’m a believer in astrology but I have started learning about astrology only recently (lockdown) and couldn’t really continue as consistently as I would like. So a lot of terms still confuse me and my understanding is not as deep as I want to achieve. I have no interest in practicing it for money or getting clients. Learning it to be able to understand it better & hoping to understand myself better as well.

That said, here are a few of my queries/thoughts:

    1. I could not understand how the birth moon and/or ascendant placements in the said Nakshatras/Signs will get affected.

    2. Also, is the impact severe if more than one condition is met (eg. Birth moon conjunct in both Vishakha and Taurus)

    3. I’m really really worried about my Mom now as her Rahu MahaDasha period just started (Ra-Ra-Ra-Budh-Ra) & she will be in transit at the time of the eclipse (flying from U.S. to India)

    4. Read the attached post regarding Rahu-Moon shakti yog in 5-9! Have more questions regarding the same but the comments are closed. Should I ask here?

        Another quick question:
Like you said in the article attached, time is very important- the exact time.

My 2nd son was born a few months ago but at the time we had Daylight saving time here where the clock is moved an hour ahead from March-November. So what time should be considered for his chart?

      3. astrologerbydefault Avatar

        Hi there
The actual time as per the lat long u live in. Daylight saving is an artificial construct.
U will get this option in the software u use to calculate the charts.

And pretty much all the household is affected some way or the other as per this post ie. whether it’s birth moon/birth sign/asc sign/MD/AD… My spouse & daughter have shakti yoga in D1.

My question is if someone’s birth moon is krittika but in Aries sign, would the effect be experienced at the same level & intensity as the krittika in Taurus sign?

Being Cancer moon undergoing Ketu Md and Rahu Ad this should be an interesting Eclipse.

    Hello maam,
I have been doing dhyaan on asan for few years now. Was introduced to it by my grandfather.
Mostly dhyaan has been very peaceful process for me that has become increasingly addictive too.
Post / during my jaap and soham usually I experience total silence / quiet( the only time my super active mind completely shuts down). There were occasional sounds of a distant drum beating or water gurgling that i have heard but i dont pay any attention to it, hearing sounds is not my objective anyway.
Any sound I hear in any distant corner of my spacious house also becomes piercingly loud and feels like a jolt which is why I do dhyaan before anybody is, awake or all are asleep.
But recently just when I had concluded a good session of dhyaan and was just silent on my asan still in some other zone, this really strange sensation/image of a lady older than what my present age is, dressed in silvery white was persistently tugging at my hand. The most peaceful flute like sound accompanied her.
But I was so taken aback by the tug at my hand that I opened my eyes and found my hand on the ground away from where I placed on my lap.
You have always advised us to ask our diety our question during dhyaan.
I did just that. I addressed my question to ask what happened during my next dhyaan.
To my surprise I heard the exact music and experienced the same thing with the lady in silver all over
    again.
I am slightly confused. Should I keep looking for answer to this in my dhyaan or just let it go.
These are part of regular experience for everyone which one must ignore ?

    Namaste mam,
In your post “temples in India where I have been to”, kept me curious and can you please suggest a conscious energy temple from Karnataka, please.

    1. astrologerbydefault Avatar

      Hi there
now that you asked this question, i realised that i have not travelled much in Karnataka.
except for the small town of Baswan Bagewadi, where my entire family, cousins etc all used to go every year for my grand-Guru’s punyatithi utsav.
i have a list in mind, lets see if and when these deities call me.

for high energy temples, these will be those with very old stone construction, older the better, black stone Moorti, or the deity in the form of a lingam or natural stone, on which regular pujas are performed.
those temples on high or inaccessible areas, near water, in caves etc. you will know when you go there.
do not wear socks in the temple premises. put your bare feet on the stone or soil there.
and make it a point to sit somewhere inside the temple and do a 108 jaap of your mantra. close your eyes and let the deity show you whatever it wants to.

Somewhere in one of the comments madaji said we should not do the recitation randomly or in a standing position since it will attach negativity to us..since its near deity we dont have problem..?In kerala this is our usual practise…

      Hi there
if there is a crowd, then obviously you must recite your mantras standing or waiting in the line.
you can start reciting your mantras as you enter the outer walls of the mandir, while you are waiting or while doing your pradakshina etc,
anything you do in the deity’s kshetra is heard by him

How does onion and garlic affect spirituality as per Sanatan dharma?
    They do have good properties.
    Do they have negative aura?

    1. astrologerbydefault Avatar

      Hi there
for regular people, Gruhast types, we have to eat them. the raw vegetables are more potent than cooked ones. they are required to create aggressiveness, passion and the urge to survive, fight etc. in addition there are health benefits.
even brinjal, masoor dal etc are the same energy.

they do not have a negative aura. no vegetable has a ‘negative aura’.
if they are nice and fresh, they will have a nice emeraldish aura, a very positive aura.
if they rot then they can become faded greyish, that would be your negative aura.
learn to see auras and try this at home yourself, its fun and useful.

for sanyasis, they have to not be aggressive, etc. so they must not eat them.

fr Gruhasts, eat them. but if you are doing some anushthan, eg are going to read Devi mahatyma for the navratri, then do not eat them for these days only. this will help your mind concentrate more easily.

You had written in Navavarna mantra post that fish was okay. What is the reason?

      2. astrologerbydefault Avatar

        Hi there
Best is to avoid all animal meat. But fr health purposes if u have to eat it then only fish. Mindless creature. Its death energy is not so intense, so occasionally fr health purposes u can manage to assimilate it.

If u need to eat bird or mammal meat, the killing shud b in the single jhatka style, instant death.
If it takes too long to die the meat becomes saturated with its pain.
These animals are aware of pain/death. Avoid eating their meat.

personally i cant even look at meat of any sort any more, energy is very dissonant

But no prawn lobster etc, tht meat is highly tamasic, ie very heavy dull energy.

In fact shud avoid milk and milk products esp cheese which comes frm commercial dairy farm cows. Those animals r highly depressed and in pain.

Experiment fr urself. Eat only veg fr 2 weeks. Then eat one meat in significant quantities in ur evening meal and see what kind of dreams u get.
