Choose the best day for conception or IVF

Last Updated on December 1, 2021 by astrologerbydefault

Someone wanted to know the best day for starting a new baby through IVF ie a suitable Muhurt/ auspicious time for the introduction of the embryo into the mother’s womb using the IVF procedure. This is a pertinent question in today’s context with several couples opting for the IVF process. And these same concepts will be useful vven if you are starting a baby in the natural way.

This post is for beginners who can at least read the Panchangam ie at least read the names for the following five items from the Panchangam app applicable for the location and time under consideration.

  • Tithi – ie the lunar day which is counted from the Amavasya/ no moon day or Purnima/ full moon day.
  • Vaar – the 7 days of the week, these are to be seen from sunrise to sunrise (not midnight to midnight).
  • Nakshatra – the lunar mansion occupied by the Moon
  • Karan – a calculation related to 6deg separating intervals between Sun and Moon in transit
  • Yog – also a calculation for the distance between the Sun and Moon in transit

12d600e2bb258725992a396f8caf30c8

Conception, natural or artificial, is the same concept. The seed, ie either sperm in the natural process or the embryo in the IVF process, is introduced in the body of the mother. It is desired that the baby forms perfectly inside the mother and be born after a complete term. It is also desired that it give happiness to both the parents. This is an new endeavour in so many ways and you want success and auspiciousness from it.

Today conceptions are random events, as couples do not know or understand the value of choosing the ideal day to get intimate. But as per Sanatan Dharma, first the ideal day is to be chosen through calculations, a Garbhadhana Sankar is to be performed and then the couple should get intimate. The individual soul of the future baby is first formally called and energised by the mantra of the Sanskar. This ensures that of the few potential baby-souls hovering around the parents-to-be, only the most auspicious one is allowed access. Ideally the Garbhadhana Sanskar is to be repeated before every conception. (Today this this Sanskar is performed only once on the day of the marriage itself.) Even today, people who know Jyotish do choose the day for conception, do some puja for the new baby to come and then engage in intimacy.

We can use the same principles for choosing the day for conception via IVF. This will depend on your doctor, ie if you are allowed to choose this time as per your preference. You can consider the time when the embryo is introduced into the mother’s womb as the time of ‘conception’. If you choose a high energy time frame for your IVF procedure, you will, with time, be a parent of a happy, healthy and auspicious baby.

www.psychologicallyastrology.com

So with this brief background, the auspicious times for natural conception or artificially via IVF are,

  • Tithi – Pratipada 1st, Dvitiya 2nd, Trutiya 3rd , Panchami 5th, Saptami 7th, Dashami 10th, Dwadashi 12th or Trayodashi 13th
  • Nakshatra – Rohini, Uttaraphalguni, Uttarashadha and Uttarabhadrapada ie the fixed or Dhruva nakshatra will help the conception ‘fix’ strongly into the body of the mother. Of these Rohini and Uttarabhadrapada are the best ones.
  • Days – Thursday and Friday are better than the rest, Wednesday is also suitable.
  • Yog – Ayushman, Saubhagya, Sukarma, Vruddha, Dhruva, Harshana, Siddhi, Shiva, Siddha, Sadhya, Brahma and Indra are preferable.
  • The best ‘moveable’ Karan would be Taitila, in addition Gara and Vanija are also good options. You can use Bala and Balava karan in a pinch. Of the fixed Karans, only the Kimsthughna can be considered but only if there is no other option.

Try to match the maximum of these 5 conditions as per your constraints.

And take 10mins to do this small puja / mantra on the day you choose for the conception, natural or IVF. This will improve both your energies and the energy of your future baby and take care of any malefic influences operating at the moment. Do this with the intention of getting a happy, healthy and auspicious baby.

www

And for somewhat advanced students,

The best option would be Amrit. But Labh and Shubh are also good for this process. In this do check if your chosen Choghadiya does not overlap with the Vara vela, Rahu kaal, Kaalratri, Kaalvela etc negative times as shown by your app, as these will add some tension to the process.

In the natural process both parents can use the Swar shastra to shift the Swar in their bodies. If done properly, it can ensure that you get the child of the sex you want. If you are doing it the artificial way through IVF, your wife can change her Swar to ensure the ideal environment in her womb for accepting the embryo, here the sex of the baby will not be as per your choice as the father does not have an active role at this point of time.

  •  If you know how to read the houses of the horoscope

Then refer to this post for choosing a good time for planned birth ie Caesarean section. You can do this same analysis to get the perfect time for your conception, either natural or assisted via IVF. The chart of the conception event is called the Adhana chart. You can try to give your future baby an ideal Adhana chart. And later when your baby is to be delivered, in case you have to go for a Caesarean section, you can refer to this post again to choose the best possible time. This post assumes that your doctor has given you a time frame of 1-2 days for choosing your preferred time for delivery.

Then you can open your Panchangam app and see if it is auspicious ie Sampat, Kshema, Mitra or Paramitra. This will ensure that you and your spouse are in a happy frame of mind during the process. If you both are happy then naturally the energy of the process will be positively affected.

There are even more things, but this much is enough for a beginner to be aware of. This improves the chances of having the baby of your dreams.

www

Next, these are the times when you must never attempt conception.

  • Eclipses – here the Sun or the Moon are eclipsed, so these times are not favourable on the energy levels. You are supposed to do some mantra puja etc during this time to make the best use of this energy.
  • Sankranti days – ie the day a planet enters into a new sign. Sankranti is a time for doing pujas, mantras of that planet, giving dana etc and not for indulging in intimacy. (For the Moon, his transits are quite fast at 2.25days per sign, so the preferred Nakshatra for him are mentioned above)
  • 45mins before and after sunset, sunrise, midday and midnight. These are the Sandhya times, where the energies are not suitable for starting a new life. You are supposed to do your regular Gayatri puja during this time.
  • 10days since the birth of a new baby to a close family member on the paternal side ie the Naatak period. And 13 days since the death of a close family member on the paternal side ie the Sutak period. During these two time frames, the spirits of the ancestors have access to this dimension and this interferes with the conception, ie entry of a new baby-soul in your body. I have seen 4 cases of my close family/ friends doing this, it ended in a miscarriage for all 4.
  • Days when you see bad omens around you. There is an entire Shakun shastra on this. But simply put, if you see something that upsets you deeply, then it is a negative omen. And if you see something that makes you happy it is a positive omen. eg you think of having a baby and you notice a small child walking by, this would be a positive omen. or you think of starting a baby and there is an accident on the road in front of you, this would be a negative omen.

Bringing a new baby into your life is always a big responsibility, so it will help if you take adequate precautions before initiating the process. If you are considering starting a baby, either naturally or artificially through IVF, do give yourself and your spouse an energy boost by choosing the right time so that you get a high energy, auspicious baby in the near future.

Also what could one infer from having Rahu in ashlesha nakshatra?

      Hi there
Naag puja is done as per home culture,
eg in my family, i will bring soil from a termite hill, make a snake shape with it, do its puja etc, and then do its visargan the next day.
some people go to pray to live snakes, or sacred trees, or snake temples etc.
if you do not know what your family pujas are then at least offer – desi cow milk, pure water or Gangajal or panchamrut to the Shivlingam. especially pour it on the the naagraj Vasuki shown coiling around the Lingam.

the easiest shlok is the small nav-naag stotra
Om Anantam vasukim shesham padmanabham cha kambalam
Shankhapalam dhartarashtram cha takshakam kaliyam tatha
Aetani nava navaami naganam cha mahatmana
Sayamkale pathet nityam prathah kaale visheshath
Tasya vishabhayam nasti sarvatra vijayi bhavet Om

rahu in ashleysha has a lot of potential, intelligence, courage etc is exceptional. but just be sure to use your talents in positive and satvik activities.
do Naag puja or at least offer pure water to shivlingam regularly.
if you are a man then ensure that the obligations to the pitr are done as per schedule

two examples to show the power of this nakshatra.
Indira Gandhi – asc degree in ashleysha
MK Gandhi – moon in ashleysha
can be considered to be the epitome of power, politics and deception in our present age. these 2 horoscopes are so strong that even after the death of the natives, the negativity created by their actions still resonates.

Quite interesting..! I know a chart with sun, venus & ketu in ashlesha nakshatra in consecutive padas in descending order (sun is in Gandant ) and another one with asc degree in ashlesha. Is sun in ashlesha more powerful (rather dangerous) than moon or asc degree in ashlesha? And is ketu in ashlesha more impactful than rahu in this nakshatra?

And as always thank you much for this eye opening rather revealing post! Truly grateful for the immeasurable treasure of knowledge gathered over the last few months!!

        Thank you & Pranam🙏

        Hi there
nothing is really ‘dangerous’, all are energies, if you can use them then its better
ashleysha is a exploratory nakshatra with typical energy, use it well with an understanding of karma dharma, it can give exceptional results

    Hi Tejaswiniji

Can an adopted child technically continue the lineage or perform the pitru Karmas according to our Shastra?

How does one generally check the astrological chart for adopted children? Is it via their parents charts?

    -Gayatri

    1. astrologerbydefault Avatar

      Hi there
yes, a child formally adopted is for all purposes a part of that family.
the adoptive parents are his parents now.
after the adoption process is complete, stop referring to him/her as an ‘adoptive child’, he is regular child of that family.
he /she has the same rights and duties as a naturally born child in that family, there is no difference now between the two on energy levels
adopted child, parents will have some problem in 5th/8th houses, but 9th will be very strong
natural child, parents will 5th 8th 9th all good
adopted child, his/her 4th or 10th will have some issues, but 9th will be strong

only thing is, try to adopt a baby as soon as he/she is born.
the chakra energy develops most strongly in the earlier years,
      https://psychologicallyastrology.com/2019/09/20/development-of-a-childs-chakra-energy/

if you adopt a boy naturally he will have to do the anteyshti of his parents, give tarpan etc.
it is his duty, he belongs to this family now. and it is accepted by the pitrs.
if you adopt a girl she will not do anteyshti or tarpan in any case, as women have no obligation to do this.

Am a little confused, hence the below questions. If a soul has already chosen its destiny before being born, how will choosing the time of birth (the time of a c-section for e.g.,) work? Likewise, aren’t souls always born in familial groups? If so, when there is a suitable choice for a soul to be born, how are there multiple souls which can consider this a possibility for them? In cases where a Garbhadhana Sanskar is not done, which of these souls gets the choice and how does it get decided?

    1. astrologerbydefault Avatar

      Hi there
There is always a freedom of choice. Always
If ur chart is strong more options. Else lesser. But there is choice always.
This is also a function of ur dharma trikon. If its strong then u will know and do these pujas.
If not strong then u wont. Whatever comes is then by its choice.
Getting birth in the family of ur choice is not so easy. Eg if its a good family who follows dharma etc several souls will want to come there.
      Choice is with the parents.

Eg one family i know stopped at 1 child.
Then they had several dreams in which a Sadhu would ask them to get one more. He specifically told them he had a very small sadhana remaining and would finish his life in his 20s. So they said no as they said they couldn’t bear the event of their child dying before their eyes. They didn’t choose to have another baby ie this Sadhu as their child.

      1. Hayls Avatar
        Hayls

This is interesting… Does there not have to be a very strong level of karmic balance to be born to specific parents? Does this mean that multiple souls that have this amount of karmic rebalance could potentially be born to a specific family/couple?

      2. DEEDEE Avatar
        DEEDEE

Thank you for clarifying. I have one more question – what does it mean by a soul chooses its next birth at the time of death? how does one ensure that one gets their thinking right at that exact moment? For all one knows it takes just a fraction of a microsecond to transition from being alive to dead and unless one is that aware isn’t it hard to realize that and be that conscious?

      Hi there
There are some issues as per ur position. Jupiters position is also important. In transit he is supportive in capricorn also later when he enters Pisces he can help to some extent.

See if ur husband has supportive positions in his chart

Before starting the process, you and your husband ie the prospective parents, must request Vishnu-Laxmi fr their blessings.
Read this if u want to do it at home.
      https://psychologicallyastrology.com/2019/01/11/assisted-reproductive-technology-and-adoptions/
Or u can engage a Brahmin to do a puja with sankalp of having a child.

Rahu. If there is any pending pitrutarpan in ur family ie family after marriage. Ask ur husband or father in law to address this.
If any puja pending fr family deities, get it done. You can also request them to grant you an auspicious child (process can vary) to continue the family.

You shud decide what to do.
Every astrologer including me can only suggest options as per our understanding individual understanding.

so i decided to close the “post comment section” for all the older posts.
now only the latest post has the “post comments section” enabled.

then a few readers wanted to have all the comments on a separate page, apparently they liked reading the answers, so i made a new page and called it forum. this has the “post comments section” enabled.

frankly there is no difference, you can type in the latest post or in the forum page.

And reg the yog, its a 12 deg 20 sec division of the distance separating the Sun and the Moon
eg if they are 100 deg apart, you will divide 100 arc deg by 12 deg 20 sec, to get the yog operating at the moment
this distance is the same as the nakshatra width ie 12 20.
and obviously there are the 27 yog.
its an important division, will write on it.
at present am writing on the karan, will post this on sunday

        Hi there
You can change anything and everything you want. If u have enough energy to power your intention.
Everything is happening at this same moment.
Technically there is nothing like the past present or future. I guess the closest word would b ‘parallel’ but even this does not really describe it.

      5. Dew Avatar

        Hello Madam,

Regarding this, i read in a book, time is just another dimension.

E.g. if there was a train movie and we were standing on a platform, and currently we have only 1 D vision, so we can only the part of train next to us i.e. present.

If we had more ability, we can see whole train, i.e. past, present and future too.

        Is this analogy correct?
But it inherently implies that future is somehow fixed.

Also, by parallel, do you mean parallel universes?

        Thank you

      6. astrologerbydefault Avatar

        Hi there
try to define what the “present moment” is. no one can do this. then what can be said of the ‘past’ or the ‘future’
time is a illusion, and yes we are limited by our perceptions.
you can expand your consciousness or awarenesa or intelligence to perceive if you do your sadhana.

i had watched an movie ‘Lucy’ a small part at the end where the main protagonist explains the nature of time to the scientists, it was interesting.

there are several ‘universes’ and you exist in those too. in some of them you are alive in some dead, in some living a different life, its all happening at the same instant. there is just one ‘present instant’.
you do your mantra and you will see for yourself.

i do not keep people with negative energies around me, esp working inside my house.
as they are so low on energy themselves they are quite desperate, they ‘steal’ energy from the people living in that house and the house itself.

you cannot really help anyone, each one makes their own life decisions.

        Pranams Madam.
How can we keep out negative people/energies who are just barging/interfering in our lives ?

E.g I am currently facing peculiar situation.
I had an ex-/friend /contact association with a guy during Saturn-Venus (Yes highly karmic period) when there was no support from my own family members.

But slowly I realised that this person might not be good & for selfish reasons can force me to stray from my dharma.
Somehow escaped from this. Time and Life moved on.This person got married had a kid. He had lots of marriage issues and divorce (He has a loaded 7th house).

He started badgering me pestering me about his problems. In My gratitude/kindness remembering the good things that happened during my association with him , I responded and suggested resolve his issues internally spiritually etc.. But the problem is me responding to him also makes this person to think that I love him and has now started badgering me to be with him.

For sake of Gratitude I respond and adviced but end up with loads of negative energies myself.
If the other person has anything intense feeling (Revenge, anger., love.. hatred ) that might create problematic Karmic tangles bond for us as well right ?. Another birth for us ? Which probably is what we all want to avoid.

How do we deal with these scenarios or People who just barge into our lives and disrupt our own Spiritual aspirations / Peace?.

We have some gratitude for these people and yet this feeling of gratitude in-turn harms ourselves?

Sometimes this could be in the form of our own relatives also whom we respect.

How to pass these Karmic tests?

        Regards.

      2. astrologerbydefault Avatar

        Hi there

being grateful for someone, or feeling kindness, or compassion for someone does not mean that you get into trouble for someone else’s sake.
feelings are also a form of karmic bindings. so think twice before you feel any intense emotion for any one, it may be a ‘positive’ or ‘negative’ emotion.

if you feel grateful but you know that this person is toxic, at max you can do this.
pray to your favourite deity and tell him to help this person. but do this only once, you don’t need to keep on praying forever. praying for someone also transfers energy to him, so do this only once or very few times.
and remove yourself from that toxicity. cut off this person from your life if you think that he is preying on your kindness. you might feel gratitude, kindness or compassion but that person has his own lessons to learn. you are not responsible for him. so dont get carried away in emotions.

and how can you ‘respect’ a toxic person, even if he is your senior or relative?

This is so True. Is this ability of being aware of oneself & other’s energy or influence attained through some kind of sadhana/practice ? Though i’m not a very intuitive/spiritual person, how do some people attain this? Just curious and i feel this is somehow linked to spirituality, like in one person’s chart there was a Jup+Ke conjunction taking place in the 5th house (Purva-punya) and they are really intuitive.

And also some people are prone to negative energies (or drishti dosha), how can this be checked through one’s birth chart? One thing i noted from a good exemplar chart is the influence of functional malefics on the ascendant and also Rahu..

        Hi there

for high levels of intuition, rahu ketu need to have more power. this also makes him more susceptible to astral influences too.
if you are susceptible to something you are often more aware of it, but with rahu ketu this sort of awareness often comes after mid-age ie the 40s.
i have written lots posts on rahu and ketu and all this.

fr evil eye and astral stuff, rahu ketu have to be somewhere in the picture

i have written a post on the 5th house and mantra siddhi, the 9th house, the asc.
evolution of the soul etc which you might find interesting.

    Hello Madam,

When we live as joint family where other family members’ intentions or level of spirituality is different , or they are more materialistic/ jealous, then i think it is best to avoid food prepared by them. But if it’s not possible, then how to deal with it?

    Thank you

    Hello maam
Just noting some personal experiences. When I was staying in hostel for my undergrad studies they used to mix up seniors and juniors depending on room availability.
So once a postgrad who was shifted to my room, got marriage fixed within few weeks of shifting to my room, got married and moved out.

Next her friend also who was much much senior to me moved in to room. Her marriage too worked out within 2 months of moving into room ( she was happy coz her parents were trying from 5 years). So now some myth spread that if someone becomes my roomie, they will get married.
So seniors wanted to shift to my room.
Personally I was barely post adolscent stage and was bit uncomfortable around seniors plus I used to do my early morning and Twilight prayers which I used to really hesitate when they were around
Finally third roomate also got married and I got a room vacant with a batchmate ( who also got engaged😀)and shifted out, though there was a waiting list to become my roomie.
Another thing, after gifting a purse to classmate for her birthday, she had told her other friends that her purse never became short of money. So my friends at hostel started asking me to gift purses and wallets to them.
It became bizzare but when I visited a pandit back home to pay respect, he told me to stop throwing my luck around.
Valuable advise it was indeed as most of these were not my well wishers and I often used to get some rash or wierd scratch marks on my body post being helpful to some.
Anyways maam, just wanted to say your cleansing and protection methods were a big help. I was doing few of cleansing rituals practised by my family but have added what you have told to the routine.
    Did make a difference. 😀🙏

“Everything is happening at this same moment.
Technically there is nothing like the past present or future. I guess the closest word would b ‘parallel’ but even this does not really describe it.”

Frankly speaking ma’am, it is difficult to digest….Can you please simplify or any example?

      Hi there
Do your spiritual activity to understand this. cannot explain it in words.

Mam do people incur negative karma if we knowingly/unknowingly kill insects in the kitchen..I mean whenever I am forced to kill ants I feel guilty..
What should we do in such cases where there are insects that come rarely into the kitchen and how do we eliminate them.

      Hi there
anything against your conscience will incur negative karma for you.

eg if i see a cockroach in the house, i kill it because it is a pest. in fact if there are too many pests in your house they will attract negative entities which is definitely not a good thing. but as it is a living being, while i kill it, i say ‘shiv shiv’ as a sort of an energy for it to get a more conscious life next.
for me a ‘pest’ is something that spoils the energy of the house. so cockroaches, rats, termites, red ants etc are in this category.

black ants are different. if there are ants, better would be to put some sugar outside your house and request them to stay out. Similarly snakes, never ever kill a snake. they can indicate issues related to ancestors.
