Ascetics Sanyasi and Tapasvi yog

Last Updated on May 20, 2022 by astrologerbydefault

Renunciating the society and delving into your self searching for the Ultimate is what Sanyas or asceticism or Tapah, means. The Sanyasi and Tapasvi yog create asceticism in you and draw you to the Consciousness within.

Tapasvi तपस्वि is an ascetic practising austerities.

Sanyas is a compound word in Devbhasha Samskrutam. Sanyas means to precisely fix into individual consciousness what really Is. The objective of Sanyas is always attainment of the Nirgun Brahma, the Advaita, no less.

  • Samyak सम्यक् – properly, precisely, beautifully, aptly, accurately, correctly, together, in the same direction.
  • Nyas न्यास – to trust, deposit, text, writing down something, placing, painting, appropriation, assignment, impressing, finally fixing, delivering, bringing forward, pledge, etc.

Bruhat Parashari Hora Shastra,

Chapter 79 gives the combination for Sanyas/ asceticism.

  • Four or more planets in a house is the Sanyasi or Parivraja yog

BPHS follows this basic condition with combinations which indicate the choice of the specific type of Sanyas, the order that you will join, the favourite deity/ mantra that you will choose, will you continue as an ascetic or return back to the society etc. Also gives the conditions which have to be satisfied for all this to happen. Sanyas can be said to be successful only if you are able to stick to the path till you gain Moksh. But remember that our books are all in the sutra form. So there are other conditions also which have to be satisfied for the Parivrajya yog to give its full effect.

Jamini Sutra

This gives a combination called the Tapasvi yog (sutra 36), ie for someone who can perform severe austerities with the objective of attaining Moksh. If the Karakamsa with Ketu has the aspect of Sani, he will become a Tapasvi or recluse or be a dependent and servant under somebody”

  • The Karakamsha with Ketu and aspected by Saturn is the Tapasvi yog.

Let’s understand this basic condition with an example.

  • Eg suppose that in your chart, the planet with the highest degree in any sign is Mars at 28deg Leo. So he is your Atmakarak planet.
  • Now check your navamsha chart. Suppose this Mars shifts to the Libra sign in the navamsha. Then Libra is your karakamsha. (Karakamsha is the navamsha sign occupied by the Atmakarak planet.)
  • Come back to your basic birth chart and locate the Libra sign in it. See if Ketu is placed in Libra.
  • Next check if Saturn occupies Taurus, Leo or Aquarius ie then he would aspect this Ketu in Libra.
  • If these conditions are satisfied it is a Tapasvi yog combination.

(In Jaimini the system of aspects is different from Parashari. Any planet placed in the sign, aspects the planets placed in these other signs as follows.

  1. Aries aspects Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius
  2. Cancer aspects Scorpio, Aquarius and Taurus
  3. Libra aspects Aquarius, Taurus and Leo
  4. Capricorn aspects Taurus, Leo and Scorpio
  5. Taurus aspects Cancer, Libra and Capricorn
  6. Leo aspects Libra, Capricorn and Aries
  7. Scorpio aspects Capricorn, Aries and Cancer
  8. Aquarius aspects Aries, Cancer and Libra
  9. Gemini aspects Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces
  10. Virgo aspects Sagittarius, Pisces and Gemini
  11. Sagittarius aspects Pisces, Gemini and Virgo
  12. Pisces aspects Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius)

Sutras are highly condensed knowledge for advanced students who can pick up the nuances of the theme expressed so succinctly in a few words. So we have to go in deeper to understand this. There are other conditions which have to be satisfied else this same combination will ensure illness, servitude and a life of humiliation.

If you refer to Jaimini sutra 59. “If the 7th from Karakamsha is occupied or aspected by Saturn, the wife will be older or sickly or a tapasvini or engaged in meditations”. This sutra indicates a Sanyasi tendency in the spouse. Here the 7th house from the Karakamsha is spoilt by Saturn’s presence so all the constraints that Saturn brings in exist in the marriage. As its a sutra we have to go in deeper, ie if this Saturn is capable of inauspicious results then the spouse will be ill, sick, unattractive, aged, undesirable, or a marriage of compulsion, no spirituality but a miserable existence ie the spouse will not provide marital happiness. But if this Saturn is auspicious then the spouse despite all these difficulties be able to turn his mind towards the Eternal and strive to gain it, ie be a Tapasvi.

(I did not want to mix Jaimini in this blog devoted to Parashari but this is just one exception).

www

The conditions

First and foremost, these yog-creating planets have to be powerful and capable of auspicious results. If they are afflicted in any way or unable to give their results, then they will grant a life of frustration. Then you will neither be able to fit in regular society nor will be able to take Sanyas.

  • For Sanyasi yog, there are 4+ planets concentrated in one single house. This is technically a graha yuddha, planetary war. They are all going to be friends/enemies or of varying powers, controlling several houses from this one single house. Several planets together in a house causes an imbalance in the personality. A mish-mash of planetary forces acting in the same environment of one sign/ house is very intense and creates problems in regular life. These issues will eventually disenchant you with life as a whole and force you to search for the Eternal Truth.
  • For Tapasvi yog, again it is Ketu aspected by Saturn which can generate very intense karma. It can manifest as suffering in the early life. The karakamsha with Ketu is an internal disconnect from existence. Such a karakamsha aspected by Saturn is going to put more restrictions on the personality which will not be conducive to happiness in regular life. It will be frustrating and thus you will be encouraged to realise the Eternal.

The ascendant lord/ sign and the birth Moon has to be powerful and capable of auspicious results. This is a basic condition applicable throughout astrology. This elevates the power of the personality and allows you to tide through tough times without losing your composure.

Analyse the main birth chart and also refer to the D3 Dreshkona D9 Navamsha and D20 Vimshamsha charts for determining the power and capability of the planets in giving results. If the combinations repeat or gain power in these detailed divisional charts too then the tendency is deeply rooted and you will gain what the chart promises.

The timing of the event should naturally be seen from the Dasha/ transit of the enabling planet. So you can look out for dasha or significant transits of Saturn, Ketu, the Atmakarak and the ruler of the karakamsha sign for the timing in Tapasvi yog. For the Sanyasi yog, this timing may be derived from the dasha/transit of the strongest planet in the group of planets or the ruler of the sign in which this group is located.

www

And if you have this sort of combination in your chart, then do think on why this fascination with becoming a Sanyasi/ ascetic? It is not glamorous nor fashionable in the least. This road is quite hard, turbulent and generally painful. You are at war with your own instinct, your Mind, your existence in this world. You are fighting the charms of Prakruti with every breath. The Kurukshetra war is raging inside you. You have declared that you do not belong in this Creation and the Devi will test your this resolution to the max, only then allow you to travel beyond her. The initiation to Sanyas generally involves a ritual which intends that after taking formal Sanyas you are no longer someone’s son, daughter, you are no one to no body in this world. You are dead to them and they are also dead to you. This is isolation of the highest degree. Sanyas is not for everyone.

You become a Sanyasi because of one of these two reasons,

  • You are in a hopeless situation in life thus want to ‘escape’. A negative motivation so the effect is temporary, ie as long as the negative situation in your life persists you will want to embrace asceticism. Eg, you are going through a painful divorce, want to escape the situation, thus start exploring spirituality. But once the divorce is final and you feel relaxed, you will want to again meet new people etc and spirituality takes a back-seat.
  • Or you genuinely wants to know your own Self and resolve to do so with full force, this is a positive motivation. The purpose is clear, Self-realisation, Moksh. You are willing to face whatever may come as you are focussed on the final prize. You know that the creation is an illusion and the only real thing is the Advaita, and you desire to experience this reality. Now you are a real sanyasi. You might actually physically move away from the society and affect a final separation, ie take a formal Sanyas. Or remain in the world but internally separated from all worldly affairs, an internal Sanyas. Both ways are equally valid.

A genuine Sanyasi takes up this path only and only because he wants to realise himself, gain Moksh, attain the Nirgun Brahma, achieve Sadyo Mukti, ie the Advaita. This is the only possible motivation.

www

But then for becoming a genuine ascetic check which of the following additional indications are there in your chart,

  • Genius levels of intellect and logic. You need to have Vivek, ie a sense of what is right. Also the ability to find what is right for you and to think for yourself. There are so many fake guru-s and charlatans who are just waiting to drain your energy, so many wrong practices which will destroy your nadi-s, books filled with trash and false information doing the rounds. So you have to be able to choose the correct option, to discern the right path. You are chasing Moksh, the subtlest and highest energy, your own Self. The path is not easy. This is possible if the 5th house/ lord, Mercury and Ketu grant you these abilities.
  • The 5th house is about mantra siddhi. Whatever mantra you are going to practice has to give its results for you to attain Moksh. This will happen if the 5th house/ lord is strong in the birth, Navamsha and D20 charts. The enabling dasha/ transits will be of the planets connected to the 1st 5th 9th houses.
  • An ability to understand philosophy. ie to be able to sit with the Guru and absorb the teachings. Or to pore endlessly over the books and glean the true wisdom hidden in them. This is possible if the 9th house/lord, Venus and Jupiter are supportive. The 9th house/ lord should be powerful and supported by benefics etc in main chart, in Navamsha and in the D 20. This will ensure you will be dedicated to his Guru and whatever the Guru teaches will help you. Any affliction to the 9th house/ lord means that you will be a traitor to the Guru and his teachings will be of no use to you.
  • An ability to question things on the basis of logic and analysis. To put forward arguments which will further your understanding without being argumentative for the sake of it. To courageously walk the path. To incessantly fight against your own desires, your own mind and emotions. Also to drive the pran into the subtlest of nadi-s, ie the Brahma-nadi within the Sushumna. This will be granted if Mars and the 3rd house/lord supports you.
  • An ability to cleanly ‘separate’ from all things without regrets and without looking back. Once you realise that something is not right, you should also be able to remove it firmly by its roots from your life, this is called Vairagya. This is possible only if the 12th house/lord, Saturn and Ketu support you.
  • Then there will be innumerable sources of pain and disappointments. The closer these hurts are to your heart, the more effective they will be for inducing asceticism. This is not a physical pain, it is an emotional and mental torment. This is essential and will be granted if,
    • 2nd house damaged – no comfort, support or recognition from the family, always an outsider looking in.
    • 4th house damaged – no comfort, no nurture, denial of maternal support, needs are not satisfied
    • 7th house damaged – no comfort in partnerships, no equal love from another person in life, desires are not satisfied. Not interested in money or intimacy with another person, nor in getting married and in raising a family.

Most importantly, the ascendant sign and its lord have to be exceptionally strong, ie the personality has to be firm enough to tolerate this pain, to rise above the disappointments, to assimilate the lessons being taught by these deep sorrows. The Moon has to be strong enough to endure. If this is missing, you will break down, blame others, suffer from psychological issues which will take you to the psychiatrist rather than the inner Self. Or your well-wishers try to point out your issues or try to help, you will instead blame them for being unsympathetic to you. (You will get these sorts of clients in your practice, people with combinations for asceticism but in weak charts. Suffering, as they can neither make the leap to the spiritual nor can be satisfied in the material.)

Check these above conditions from the birth Moon sign too. If they exist here too, then the Sanyasi mind-set is very deep, ie originating from the astral body. And the Moon must have enough power of his own to ensure that the psychological framework is stable and capable of going through several traumatic episodes without breaking down.

Finally the Sun must have some exceptional quality about him, ie exalted, vargottam, high ashtakvarga score, high strength in shad-bala, placed in Abhijit nakshatra, anything which helps bring out his power. This will indicate that the spark which animates you comes in very strongly from the Eternal. If you can interpret the Sudarshanchakra it will grant you some insights.

So do not get carried away by mentions of Tapasvi yog Sanyasi yog and asceticism. If these combinations do exist in their full form in your chart, you have chosen to take the Test in this life. Be prepared for the exams and act with faith/ Shraddha in your Sat-Guru to gain the Ultimate prize.

Many thanks for this article ma’am….this came way sooner than I expected. Neither my chart nor the two other people I checked up on have these yogas ,hence all the more reason for me to not fully rely on online horoscope generator which mentions every yog under the sun for most.
..rather confirm by working it out

Hello Mam, Thank you for the beautiful article. It is a bit disheartening to read that people might suffer but not feel inspired to liberate oneself. May I please know if Pisces Ascendant in D9 makes one lean towards ultimate liberation?

      Hi there
      why disheartening ?
every event is a learning experience. you chose your birth chart, so trust that your higher self has made the correct choice, try to find the opportunities in every situation and work on it.

Madam, thank you for another thought provoking post.

Recently saw Hitler, Amitabh Bachchan and some politicians with 4+ planets in a house!

What else is needed to activate sanyas yoga per Parashari system?

Thank you in advance for your guidance 🙏🙏🙏

    1. astrologerbydefault Avatar

      Hi there
these ‘celebrities’ are very one-sided personalities, exceptionally good only in one aspect of life. i do not consider them to be ideals of any sort whatsoever.
so would you say that amitabh bacchan is successful as a human? fame yes, but family, finances, children, grandchildren all is on the negative. spirituality, god knows. worst is having to work at the age of 70+!
Hitler too, exceptionally good in one part of his life but then struggles everywhere else.

i have already written on so many conditions which are necessary in this post, they are applicable for both parashari as well as jaimini.
take up sample charts of guru level people. there were several in the past century. work out for yourself

My question was not clear. Sorry about that. You have indeed given lot of conditions in the post.

My point is that 4+ planets is a lot of energy concentrated in a bhav/house. It needs to be channeled/directed correctly by either a Guru or circumstances. What could be the activation key to look at – probably Ketu or Saturn influence?

Probably it is a mystery only solved by hindsight.

Appreciate your tremendous knowledge and guidance 🙏🙏🙏

Ma’am. I was collecting charts among relatives and friends who generally tend to complain/cribby / dissatisfied/ fault find, about things more than average.
The combinations I saw recurring were usually moon Saturn ,moon ketu, Mercury/ moon in 12 th house. Saturn ketu more of silently feeling low. Undesirable auras too many a time
Are these usually among few of the combinations responsible for that kind of personality?

Also what kind of combinations make for people wanting to come to you and vent out and be heard by you.? Anything in chart which creates such energy?not referring to professional astrologers or counselor or psychiatrist. But those practicing other profession but people always reaching out for counsel or to be heard?
For eg..my shifts range from 12 hr to 18 hr to 36 hr in my field/ branch. But I do get collegues / friends with maybe much smoother lighter work life schedule ( senior ,junior collegues, support staff and cleaning staff,😀) who seek me out to complain and vent out or some simple counsel). Of course I am mostly amused by the irony but nonetheless interested to know if there’s any explanation for this. I hope you can guide as always…
Again ironic that I seek you out like others seek me out . 🙏😁

      Hi there
you are right. damaged moon and mercury. in some way or the other.
mars afflicted gives violence, eg even rough language, swearing, etc

listening to people with problems, you will have a powerful 6th house in some way. look for any connection with the moon or mercury. or what the 6th lord is upto.
if the asc lord is involved with the 6th in some way, then you will have to take this up as a profession.

I thought whatever consultations I give as a specialist surgeon to actual patients would have balanced out any 6 th house energy.i also take part in rescuing injured strays and animal causes.
Hence was wondering where I got all the extras( collegues friends et all)…many of whom are counselling people themselves as part of their profession 😀
        Many thanks…..

I have this yoga in my horoscope. My life definitely has been unpredictable and completely spiritually driven. I have Saturn, Ketu, Mars, Sun and Mercury in 2nd house of Pisces. While Moon and Rahu are exactly opposite in the 8th house of Virgo. Venus in 4th house of Taurus and Jupiter in 11th house, Sagittarius. Nothing in my life ever is normal. I’m married to Lord Krishna. And I’m only 25. I don’t know how I’m going to live for god knows how many more years. Sometimes I feel extreme bliss and joy. And often times I feel extremely suicidal. As if my heart is being smashed over and over again. Sorry for the rant. God bless you Tejaswini. Thank you for your insights. Haribol xx

It was really an intense experience reading this article. I have an exalted ketu in the 5th in Scorpio and a dignified Saturn in aquarius in the 8th casting its aspect on Ketu. I went through Saturn Dasha and Ketu antar during my professional degree studies and dropped out of college. I just lost interest in the studies and did not find any meaning in job life and just roamed listlessly. For parents who were teachers this kind of behavior from me was really devastating. It was an out of control situation and they were at a loss to understand. And when my mother approached an astrologer he was like “once saturn / venus starts he will be ok” And ofcourse things did change once venus arrived.

Now I will be getting Ketu mahadasha and Saturn antar in a couple of years and I am not sure what will happen. I am very driven spiritually and materially and both pursuits does not seem to be in conflict to me if the end goal is spiritual. It is all aligned in a beautiful way. I just want to worship the mother goddess without asking anything. That is my end goal.

Other days suddenly I get into all keep visiting pilgrimages, chant all that and keep reading mantras and think philosophical every second.

Why this fluctuation? Is this temporary during my ketu dasha?I deeply believe only spiritual bliss is ultimate and everything else is a just an illsuion nothing . Will my future help me go deep in this belief?

“If Rahu or Ketu are placed conjunct with other planets in a house then,

If in the 5th or 9th house with the lord of the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th houses = practically Yogkarak”

Here if Rahu is placed in the 9 th house of Taurus for example , automatically ketu will be in third of Scorpio…so will the same be applicable for ketu in third conjunct with Jupiter where jupiter is the lord of the seventh house Pisces..

ketu in scorpio is capable of very good results

Regarding your post on Sade Sati, Saturn transited in Capricorn on 24th Jan 12:05 pm IST and as per Murti Nirnay, this corresponds to Iron type. Does this mean that the entire span of 7.5 years is going to be bad for the Aquarius moon sign or only the first 2.5 years? How much weightage should be given to this apart from the other parameters you mentioned like Ashtakvarga?

My another query is: I want to reduce differences with my mother in law. I have found her constricting in my life so I had to live away from her. I respect her but I can’t agree with her. Whenever I visit her or she visits me, I have bad dreams and if I disclose my good plans to her in good faith, they all fail for sure. I thought she did some black magic but I seem to be wrong as I guess I have bad chart astrologically wrt to her. How May I mend my karmic relationship with her so that my spiritual growth never suffers due to her, also I don’t carry any sourness in our relationship to next birth. please suggest 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I keep trying my best to connect yet looks like I am not connecting rightly.

    Best regards

      Hi there
you can talk to her clearly about how you feel. and if she does not want to reciprocate then its her decision. you are free. but in any case, you can always ask your family deities to protect and bless her as she is your mom-in-law. in our culture we consider the MIL equivalent to our own mother. so do at least this much and be free from that karmic debt. let your family gods handle this. leave it to them.

MIL is seen mainly from the 4th house from the 7th ie the 10th house.

and she has nothing to do with your spiritual growth. her behaviour will not have an impact on this so stop thinking this.

    Hello Ma’am,

Intriguing post. I am so afraid of saturn. Numerous articles, videos, classic all have so much negative to speak about its repurcussions.

Mam is saturn really so bad? I have it in its mooltrikon sign 7th house lord. Its strong in chart (bal, avastha). Everyone says I will have a marriage of convenience. Only for namesake. There will be no love only duty. Husband would be sickly, old and he would want to live alone. Delayed marriage. He will be very senior. Though only jupiter is aspecting it from 3rd house.

My navamsha doesn’t change. And this 7th lord goes to sit in 8th house of pisces. Jupiter sits in 7th of navamsha (aquarius). This would be parivartan of both the planets.

7th house is maraka. 8th dusht. Will I only suffer in marriage? I feel some astrologers are blunt and go by books while some say it with a heart.

All this makes me feel not to get married:) If I won’t try and neither my parents I wouldn’t get married and become a sanyasi helping others.

You know and have seen so much, why is it so bad. Many people would have this combo in this population. Do their marriage suffer and are just a sham for the world with no love?

7th house lord saturn goes in 8th house of navamsha in pisces. It’s a spiritual sign under restraint. My jupiter is retro. I don’t know if aspects are also retro and further delays.

These days I only do deity dhyan and feel happy. Seems my karma is very bad.

      Hi there
there can be no life on earth without Shani. he gives you your profession, your money, social status, your gains, profits, he gives you all material things and later all spiritual things too. but only if you have worked for it. he is so important that if he withholds his gifts a person turns into a beggar and lives a miserable life.

he does not reward short-cuts, cheating others, ignoring responsibilities, being disrespectful to elders, shunning physical work etc. today people want to do just this. and that is negative karma. so Shani will ensure that they get its due negativity in return.
what we sow Shani is in-charge of making us reap it.
people earlier were very respectful about Shani and performed his pujas on Saturdays without fail.
and lived as per Dharma. respected their elders etc.
today we do not do this.
today we are scared of him so even if we perform the pujas we think of them as an upay to get rid of Shani! with such a stupid intention powering that puja, no wonder it turns into more negative karma.

I have written a lot on Saturn. use the index page or the search bar.

Personally i feel his kindness and gentleness in my life at every step. i feel very grateful to him, he has given me so much. you could say it is a respectful sort of love that i feel for Shani Bhagwan. as if i am a child in his hands. and i feel reassured when i see the blue skies. it is as if we are all living inside a giant blue sapphire gemstone powered by Saturn’s energy.

Thank you for making me realize/ conscious about these energies 🙏 until recently I didn’t even know Shani is my Lagna adhipan even though I am going through his MD now. Things happened for good or bad at that point in time seem all good in hindsight… all blessings in ‘pratyaksha or paroksha’ form in every mysterious way possible 🙏 Utterly thankful for everything in my life🙏 Thank you dear Tejaswini ji for being such a light in our lives 🙏🙏🙏

    Mam,

Thank you for guiding us with your post. Today, I am asking a very out of the box stuff that has been bothering me for a day or two. Sorry its completely unrelated to this post…..

Are crows a bad omen? I went through a very disturbing energy and insulting heartbreak along with my parents. The coping went for a month and half post which I decided to visit Ma Vaishno Devi. I have never been there all my life. It was surreal. I just thought of it one fine day and everything just worked out as if she called herself.

When I came back home, my mother and sister were away as she had cracked competitive exams and her posting came in less than 10 days! While they were away, I was alone at home and we have a big tree (left of my house if we stand facing from gate)

It was filled with crows. Never seen so many crows (each branch had 6 of them). They were cawing like anything. I tried ignoring sitting inside but went out to keep water and food for them. They were cawing more at my sight hence I left them at peace. Few of them ate and drank and left most of the food.

This happened for two-three days. Till now (been four months) they haven’t come back. I tried finding it on internet – mix omen stories. Nothing worrisome happened to anyone. God bless. I asked my mom, we have done proper pitra daan and tarpan. Also every year, we remember and do rituals as per dharma.

Its baffling to me because I have been chanting slokas, hurt and humiliated, never felt before energy and emotionally withdrawn post a beautiful darshan and hope came back to this.

To this day, I am not able to understand what they were trying to convey. There were no snakes or harm to them, months were hotter after march in case they wanted shelter. It was different. As if they were talking to me. Bad or good I don’t know.

Were they saying whatever happened happened for your good? Was there any black magic or my ancestors saw me feeling those energies/ astral bodies that I cannot see. Can you please help me know the truth mam. Possible and probable. It eats me up

      Hi there
personally i do not think that crows or ravens are ill-omens. as i feel close to Odin, when i see ravens i feel that he has sent his pet ravens to me to help me. but i realise that most people are scared of crows and ravens. but ravens especially are highly intelligent and special messengers from the pitr-s.

if you feel that there is a message from them which you want to know in detail.
before you go to bed, light one diya in front of your puja-ghar. pray to your kuldevata and the Agni. ask your question to Agni. use the language you are comfortable in and be precise about the question. eg what did the crows want to tell me? or something.
then sleep. you will get your answer in your dreams. keep a note book pencil next to your bed so that you can note down whatever comes to you.

if you want to just stop the thoughts in your mind.
make one chapati with your own hands, put a piece of jaggery in it and feed it to a desi cow with your own hands. touch the hump of the cow and request that she blesses you.

Okay Mam. I will do it.

Mam I have one more doubt every time I talk to senior astrologers

They all say different things in the same chart. I know its human and possible. Everyone see things differently since it has so many layers. Some might point something others might focus on else.

They cannot be wrong as per their limitation of siddhi and knowledge. I have been craving to meet a real humble astrologer who isn’t about showbiz but only to help me and guide for my karma and weaknesses. Like you say, it helps to be enabled.

Sadly there is no body you recommend for personal reason. Obviously these astrologers (if there still are) are out of public eye. Closed, insecure and egoistic astrological community will never refer/reveal the one who really is blessed and here to only help through his service.

Normal people like us, where and to whom they should go. Endless remedies are suggested. Everyone keeps asking you to worship different gods. Not even knowing your belief. Its like you are bribing selfishly – aaj ye to kal woh-

By reading blogs we cannot become astrologer or granted with psychic powers

I want to stick to one person but I keep going to whosoever my heart says is saaf dil insaan in hope. But I still don’t know if they are correct. I just do what they ask with sincerity as if elders have asked me. No questions. But my mind wavers. Was it real siddhi? Did god speak with me through him

        Trust whom?

      2. astrologerbydefault Avatar

        Hi there
the texts are all the same but the interpretation can vary a between astrologers depending on their levels of expertise, study, experience etc.

i do not recommend anyone for Jyotish as most people i personally know have stopped reading charts etc.

there are bound to be really good ones somewhere , if you need help you will be guided to them. this depends on the power of your own 9th house.

as far as worship is concerned, best do Gayatri mantra, its compulsory for all Hindus / followers of Sanatan dharma
listen to/recite the shri sukta, it will grant prosperity Shri in all forms.
        and worship your family deities.

and you trust yourself, your conscience, the Antar atma, no one else.

    Namaste Mam,

If you could please shed some insight on:

    1. There are quite a few divine souls who are masters of Astrology, Spirituality, Scriptures as well as modern education, technology and other things at the same time. How are these people different from the divine Tapasvi and Sanyasi who have focused only on one aspect that is spirituality without engaging in the materialistic things?

    2. Who among the above would possibly attain Moksh sooner?

    Thank you!

    1. astrologerbydefault Avatar

      Hi there
      all souls are equally divine.
its just tht some are more conscious of the divinity than the others.
most of those who realise this get caught in self-ego and fall more deeply into unawareness later.
and very rarely a few realise that the underlying energy is all the same, experience it fully and become Sat Gurus ie attain Sadyo Mukti, the Nirgun brahma Advaita.

whatever you know of this material world will not help you gain the Eternal. . Obviously the PhDs modern education, technology are not going to be of any help in achieving this goal.

but even your Astrology, Spirituality, Scriptures vidyas, your tantra, mantra, philosophy are of no use in attaining that State.
but these are important for controlling the Mind. once you do this, the route ahead unfolds on its own. this you have to experience for yourself as this cannot be defined in words of this world.
the Mind is the enemy within which you control using the mantra, tantra, vidya etc. all this effort to control the mind, so you can imagine how formidable a task this is.
In all this you will need a Sat Guru to guide you.

the one who has controlled the Mind is on track to Moksh.
i cannot comment when this will be achieved. thts between you and your Sat Guru.

for the Sanyasi or Tapasvi its a bit more easier as his only task is to do his practice and focus on his goal. the life of a sanyasi is faster spiritual progress. its more painful and you are shown so many things which disillusion you, to help make your nishchay more solid etc. its not for everyone.
for people like us who live in the material but also practice spirituality, its a doubly difficult road.
eg if i want to do the Sankashthi chaturthi upvas, its a very common upvas, ie i will eat only milk and fruits in the day, ie conserve the energy of the agni in my body, ie not use it for digestion, instead drive this energy into my nadi structure.
but what really happens is that i will go to my office, sit in meetings, maybe lie to my boss about something, argue with my co-workers, scold my staff, speak rude words, get stressed coz deadlines etc. waste tht energy that i had saved, plus not eating and working will put the body in stress.
so is this a true upvas? if i were a Sanyasi, on this upvas day i would for the entire day, focus on my mantra, and drive the energy that i have saved into my Sushumna.

so wherever you are, do your soham with the shraddha. things will unfold as per your choice.

        Namaste Tejaswiniji,

Thank you for this interesting post🙏🏻 I have loved every one of your posts🙂♥️ I plan to look up the horoscopes of our old Gurus like Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Ramana Maharshi, Swami Shivananda, etc.

Although I am fond of tasty vegetarian food, I do fast and enjoy fasting. But working (although from home) is sometimes stressful more so when there are deadlines, as you so aptly mentioned in your reply. But I still like to fast.

Is it possible for you to write something on different fasts? For example, Sankashti fasts, Ekadashi vrats, fasting on a certain day of the week to mitigate planetary dosh. Of course we fast on auspicious days like Maha Shivratri, etc. I prefer to avoid going out of the house when I am fasting and this is now possible due to Covid. Still, I think I need to know more about fasting.

        Lots of love and gratitude

    Mam,

Is it necessary to avoid sadhna, dhyan or any spiritual work- even visiting temples during menstrual cycles?

I have always had my own belief system which isn’t anti anyone but it made sense in old time and even now since not everyone has same hygiene levels or have accessibility to cleaner environment but then isn’t it same to when males or females go without a shower/ bath in sweat

Point being if you consciously know that you have come with utmost cleanliness possible and its a natural biological event. I feel it shouldn’t deter someone from continuing any remedy or paaths/dhyan.

    What are your thoughts?

Read your article (link you shared on menstrual). You blew my mind. I don’t know if its your articulation skills or over the ages wisdom embedded deep within but your blog transports me to the actual site visually.

Few people can contain such advanced theories so concisely and make it an interesting starting point even for a non-starter. You are right. One should follow their conscience but like I say until your article, I wasn’t informed/ told by any advanced master on the ‘logic and scientific’ part of it. whuff! the chakras and anticlockwise etc…. will take a long time to even feel inside my body, let alone understand it. But thank you for being the curiosity giver through your writing karma.

Meanwhile, I read this article and couldn’t understand the quoted lines

        https://psychologicallyastrology.com/2020/07/12/ramayan-hanuman-and-sundarkand/

“As you progress in your parayan, you will accumulate positive energy, your aura will glow like the Sun. Then the souls/entities roaming around trapped in our dimension will come to you and request you to use this energy to set them free. ”

This sounds like a harry potter film/ map. Do we really live with bodies from astral dimensions and they ask for help? How to identify or know they are around? and if they are positive auras or negative in your house?? How do they come to ask for rescue?

I have read few of your articles on these only out of interest

      2. astrologerbydefault Avatar

Harry potter is a fiction fr kids. Very low level. No fiction writer can even imagine the energy entities and all tht indescribable thtswirls around us all the time.
But its good as most cannot deal with this. It can scare them out of their minds

If u want to see how the world around u really is start with those small exercises. And see fr urself.
But also do yr spiritual practice so tht u have some energy to protect urself.

    Hi Mam,

I had a small query regarding your post on Beej Mantras and the ‘ang’ sound. In the Navarna mantra, since the beejas are pronounced as Aing, Hreeng, Kleeng, then why is the OM also not pronounced as Ong ? From your post, I gathered that it’s to be pronounced with the ‘am’ sound. Could you kindly clarify this ?

    Thanks

    1. astrologerbydefault Avatar

      Hi there
i have answered this question at least 20 times now.

Om is more than a beej mantra, thts why its called the pranav mantra. its the moorti of the eternal as we visualise it from our worlds.
there are several ways of using it actively. but it would be best if your Guru guides you on this.

at max you can do this, recite om, close the lips with the mm, but then push with the tongue at the palate of the mouth.

  22. silentalan Avatar

Thanks a lot for your reply Mam. I was just confused with a webpage where the Ganapati Atharvashirhsa mantra is given as ‘Ong Gang Ganapataye Namah’ instead of ‘Om Gang Ganapataye Namah’ because it said that the anuswara of OM when followed by Ga becomes Ong. So I was wondering if something similar also applies to the Navarna Mantra. Thanks for clearing the confusion.

Mam a question unrelated to the above post.
Vedic scripts and spirituality teaches us to accept everything as it comes..does it also mean that a person can choose to decide whether he wants to undergo medical treatment or not for a life threatening disease…will such a case be treated as suicide or otherwise.

This question has been pondering me for years together.

    1. astrologerbydefault Avatar

      Hi there
This sort of misguided mindset has wrong and very damaging.
Dharma is very subtle. And one must use practicality with common sense when doing the swadharma.

This is the same stupidity which ensured the invaders getting a toe hold in our Bharat.
Our ancient kings used to forgive those who surrendered or threw down their weapons. So these barbaric invaders would bring armies again and again. Read those histories of attacks on Somnath. 16 times ge lost but was allowed to go back alive. Why? Delhi death of Hemu. Death of Prithviraj. All caused by this misguided mindset. Anyways.

We must read our Ithas fr ourselves.

Eg Krishna killed 18 akshohini sena just in one mahabharat war. And he fought so many other wars too in his life.
He could have told the Pandavs to accept fate and just sit there in the forest.

Eg Ram went all the way to Lanka to search fr Sita. Killed so many. Why?
He killed so many 14K danavs under Dushira and Trishira. Killed Vali. Killed the rakshas in the patal. Killed Ravan and his army. Why?
He could have stopped searching fr his wife. Accepted tht she is lost.

If we see something which we have to act on, we must. If we dont its negative karma. Or you will have to go thru it again in the nxt life so tht u complete the karma of taking the medicine

If u r ill and know the medicine which will help and it’s accessible to you. The it’s required tht u take it. If u dont then yes it will b a form of suicide.

But if u do not know the medicine or it’s beyond ur reach eg its available only in Usa and u live in India. Then this is different.

sometimes fr the very aged or fr those suffering serious diseases the drs say tht they cannot do anything more. Thts another thing.

Ok mam but now comes the question where and where not to exercise free will.
For eg..let me give you two examples(both from my own life let me be honest)..
        1. A marriage that is going nowhere after giving it ample time..living in the marriage will mean punishing oneself…knowing this can we exercise free will to leave the marriage since there is a fear of going against dharma if divorced or maybe not knowing whether the karma with this person is over or not…

        2. Someone has done something unforgivable to me for no mistake of mine…yes I forgive them but I choose to take them off from my life as my free will since I have been bitten once..now is this free will ok?

Free will is something very confusing..is it wrong if I choose to exercise free will when someone has hurt me…by cutting them off from my life..i dont want any unfinished karma with them..the reason they hurt me I presume was the unfinished karma with them and I believe that is over after they hurt me..correct me if I am wrong mam.

I am.sorry if the way of my writing is not very perfect mam. Awaiting your reply.

        Hi there
thts where you have to be able to listen to your own conscience, your own Antaratma
and to be able to listen to this , you have to silence your mind,
and for this you have to hold on to your Mantra.

this over thinking is a sign of a chattering mind, draining your energy and creating confusion.

for me there is only one criteria – if anything is stopping me from doing my dharma it has to be addressed. but this keeps on changing with time and situation.
eg when my child was small, i took leave, stayed at home till he was 2.5yrs old then went back to work. there was a loss on financial and professional levels , but this was to ensure my dharma as a mother
eg when i had to do serious pujas for about 2 yrs of my life, i took a sideline sort of posting in my profession, again that aspect of life suffered but i did my dharma of doing the pujas.
if i feel agitated i first do my jaap etc and then decide only when my mind is still. and once i decide i go with it,

several people hurt me and then went away. one was very close to my heart, almost like a kid brother, but it is fine. the exchange is done. i have learnt a lot, gained experience, also freedom from them, they gained my money or whatever they cheated me of. i dont mind, am happy tht its over.

Mam how to understand if some black magic or bad energy is around or in you? One senior astrologer (shagird of bansal ji; assuming you might know/ would have heard of him) told me he has a doubt that I have been under influence of some effect since Jan 2020. She needs mental strength and suggested these

    – Recite bajrang baan near banana tree twice before 12PM
    – Three wednesday, take wheat (jua) and put under deity’s feet in temple. (He specifically asked not to perform it with/around shivling)

I am scared after this. I know you don’t comment on what other’s suggest/ say but I see you as spiritually and religiously advanced soul hence asking for your advice/ guidance on this.

I already do shri sukta, hanuman chalisa and mostly all the gods that I feel close to. Just gratitude if not complete rituals for some time daily. I have been feeling better since I started these. He said he is not sure and if its mild or not there then it will go away with these remedies itself else he will see after 40 days.

Also, I stay in Kashi as I told you, do you know about the Aghori/ Tantra Bhawan/ Mandir. It’s very popular even in university and people of the city. Somehow i could never gather the courage to visit it but it’s crowded and even big people/ academicians are devotee or go to it. They vouch by it. Why is it mam? Should I visit this place just to find my own truth? People who visit say ‘it aint black magic or people are ready to woo you’ Those practices must be on demand. They just visit I think the deity or nagas. Its a big structure/ don’t know if it can be called temple. Please let me know if you know or might suggest/ warn against it as you know better:)

I remember few yrs ago when I was studying, had gone during hols with family to Hampi to see the famous ruins.
Whoever knows about hampi knows about the destruction wrecked on the vijayanagar empire capital by the sultanate.
The wierd part was as I walking through the ruins seeing the defaced idols and burnt down walls all I could sense was a pall of gloom and cold air. There was a distinct wailing I could sense coming from the main entrance hall of the temple and it was piercing. When I asked my family about this, they told me to stop imagining things coz they didn’t hear a thing.
It was so awful that the whole place felt cold and gloomy( this in mid summer). I don’t know anybody else who has felt that way about that place but still….. Honestly not a place I recommend for anyone to visit unless you are insensitive to such things.

and i have another list of horrible places in Bharat and outside. but then i didnt write anything on this as they are truly negative and malevolent energies.

if i had to make a list it would start with delhi…

and one of the ‘dead-est’ places i have been to is surprisingly ajantha. the caves are said to be buddhist, but they are originally sanatan dharma figures/lingams later defaced/ recarved into buddhist. the impression that you get in your aura is deadness. the area is has such intensely dead energy, even birds are not seen in this small valley. i and my husband literally ran away from the place after seeing a few caves.. 10 mins were enough

        Hari Om!

Speaking of places and their energies…..One of my most vivid memories of India is the Himalayas…. we were traveling up in a bus…. and as we were approaching the mountains, I heard a deep omkaar nada all around. Thinking that I was imagining this, I looked around to see if anyone else was hearing this…. all were asleep! I discovered much later that the yogis’ mediation and the natural reverberation of the Himalayas was resounding in my ears.

What is amazing about these sensitivities that you write about in many of your posts is that life is mystical and wonderful!

    Dear Tejaswini
May I can ask you as well to delete the chart details I have shared for studying? I have just read in your blog, that it may damage the 9th house, so I got in worry for those two persons, as they are deeply inside sadhana.
I excuse myself to disturb you with such details. From now on I will try to describe the questions in another way.

I have another question about how to weight the details of a chart. As all suffering brings to spirituality, but where is the border, that the suffering becomes too much and can’t be supported anymore by the soul? Means instead to dedicate to spirituality will be psychological issues and lost in the Maya.
as for ex I am analysing the chart of a small boy, he has a very loaded 6-12 axis, 11th house is powerful but involved in shakata yog and aspected by Saturn (in 2nd house, scorpio) + 2-12 axis on the 12 house, Lord of 5th and 9th is not powerful. so I guess much suffering, and maybe even tendency to get into addiction. Is that the true way how to weight the informations?

I wanted to ask you as well about the settings, in Jagannatha Hora f.e. there is sooo many preferences to choose,
I think that you take Drik siddhanta, and then you have true Lahiri/ chitrapaksha or traditional Lahiri……?
and then you have so many possibilities of planet calculations, as geocentric position- topocentric position, true positions or apparent positions and so on……..also for each divisional chart there are so many options…..
For a new student its just a little bit confusing, and on your blog I didn’t find more informations…..except that of Lahiri and true nodes of Rahu/Ketu….
For a seriously interested student do you think it would be worth to work with parashara? as it is a financial investment….

your blog is such a rich gift to me!
    Thank you from my heart!

      Hi there
      about the boy, yes
if the chart is incapable of absorbing the pain and rising above it, it will lead to psychological issues.
thus i always write tht the asc sign/lord and birth moon have to be strong.
teach the boy the gayatri mantra and encourage him to think of the Sun as his personal father. tell him that the Sun and the gayatri will always protect him. if he has this intention then things will go well for him

i do not use JHora, there are too many options, perhaps a mercury dominant person has made it 🙂
i ask one of my cousins to generate the charts i need on his parashar light.

parashar light is a better software. but i think you can use some online sites etc for the basic charts, there are several which can give the necessary details
why buy it unless you are going to practice it later professionally
