Timing death for close relations

Last Updated on July 30, 2020 by astrologerbydefault

Sometimes you will get clients whose parents or near relations are seriously ill and they do not have the correct birth time available. So of course you will use the prashana kundali to analyse the health and recovery of the client’s relative. But sometimes it can be serious and you may see no chance of recovery. Predicting death in clear words is never advisable unless you are very sure, as it can break down the will power of the family/patient. Or later there might be doubts in your own mind if you did the correct thing by telling them what you saw.

Here is a simple way to recheck your grim predictions. So you do not have the birth details of the patient, and the prashana kundali indicates death. But you have the exact birth time of the patient’s son/daughter/brother/spouse. Look up this relative’s chart and find out which Mahadasha/ Antardasha and current transits are on for this relative.

The rulers of the 2nd and 7th houses counted from the ascendant are called the natural marak /death-inflicting planets and determine the timing of physical death of the body. If we count this second and seventh houses from other houses, then their owners can be used to indicate timing of death of the close relations signified by these houses.

Timing death for close relations

First using the Vimshottari system,

Spouse – Period of the ruler of the 1st house can cause death of the spouse. The 1st house is located seventh from the 7th house which represents the spouse. Also the period of the ruler of the 8th house of the native’s chart. (8th is second from 7th)

Mother– Period of the ruler of the 5th house can indicate the death of the mother. The 5th house is counted second from the 4th house. Also the period of the ruler of the 10th house (10th house is counted seventh from the 4th house).

Father – Period of the ruler of the 4th house can cause death of the person’s father. It is seventh counted from the 10th house. The 10th is the house of the father. Also the period of the ruler of the 11th house can be used for timing death of the biological father. (Some consider the 9th house to be the house of the father, but I have found that the 9th is more apt for father-figures, teachers, Guru/second-father/spiritual-father, ancestors, patrons etc. The biological father is better seen from the 10th house).

Siblings – Period of the ruler of the 4th house can cause death of the siblings, cousins, brothers. The 4th house is the second counted from the 3rd house. And the period of the ruler of the 9th house (counted seventh from the 3rd house).

Children – Unfortunately this also happens sometimes, parents have to go through the pain of seeing a child leave the body. In this case birth time would be available so you can check for longevity from the child’s chart itself. But as a secondary confirmation, you will find that in the parent’s charts, the 6th and 11th house lords periods/sub-periods can indicate the death of a child.

Now from the transits,

Check out the transits of the biggest separative graha, Ketu and the agent of constriction Saturn. e.g. Last year, Ketu was in Capricorn, counted fourth from Libra. I observed 3 clients with Libra ascendants bidding farewell to their mothers in this period of 1.5yrs. So check if you have Saturn or Ketu transiting houses which indicate close relations as per your birth chart, e.g. 1st house = self, 3rd = siblings, 4th = mother, 5th = children, 7th = wife/husband, 10th = father. Then check the chart of that person for longevity, if he has neared his/her allotted life-span, then death of the body might occur. If not then this combination will give temporary separation, e.g. living away for studies or work etc.

While analysing, look for patterns which repeat, one single combinations does not make a reading. There will be at least 2-3 combinations which will confirm the reading.

(These are just a few tips to get you interested in analysis. No event occurs in isolation, all are interconnected. Always keep a database of your and extended family’s charts with you so that you can learn as events happen in their lives.)

Periods /sub periods of 7th from Sun and Moon are maraka for Parents.

Periods of 3rd lord have high maraka rates for father as well as mother as 3rd is 7th to 9th house and 12th to 4th house.

Period of 2nd lord is also maraka for spouse or periods of planets in these houses.

      Hi there,
In my experience, the natural karak planets contribute maybe 15%.. i always give major importance to the karaks as seen from the personal horoscope..
if the parent has to die there will be a combination which affects the functional karak ..
there may be a supporting malefic influence on the natural karak too.. but unless the functional karak is affected the parent will not leave..
The malefics/benefics change as per asc and the karaks too change .. horoscope-specific functional karaks are always more important than the natural karaks.

I consider the father to be more accurately represented by the 10th house not the 9th.
9th is the father who is also the teacher. In ancient times fathers were teachers/ guides too, not anymore. So anything to do with the father for the present age is the 10th house.

This post is to understand the logic of how the horoscope works.. If i put in all the complexities of 3rd from, 4th from 6th from 8th from 12th from, the planets residing, the owners, the natural karaks, the moon chart the D-1 and the D-9 and then the actual 2nd from and 7th from, I will have to write a book..

As it is i have several comments from my readers that its too much for beginners..
I am not writing much about combinations as it is not my purpose to dishearten people who wish to start learning.

However, whatever the other planets be, 3rd from, 8th from or 12th from etc…. the basic condition i.e. ‘2nd from and 7th from’ has to be satisfied. This may be seen as a dasha period/sub-period or a transit, but it will be there, no exceptions.

        I have mentioned the same …that 3rd is “7th” from 9th .

I have seen few cases where 3rd lord period gives separation and death of parents. 9th house cannot be ruled out for considering father. In most of horoscopes you will find exaltation/debilitation of 9th lord is the ascendant or moon sign for father. Jupiter is the biological father as he is the DNA of the child.

10th house father is more like the status and influence of the father on native life. So saturn rules 10th house . Father gives native protection and stability.

If you take 10th house as father, the siblings of father would become 12th house which does not work in many cases.

11th house planet and father siblings often would match.

9th from 9th is the grandfather. So the trine is very important for father-grandfather and the child or native.

Some charts work with 9th house as father and some charts with 10th house as father. 9th is basically father but a child can look to father for 10th house things.
